I tried to follow the instructions as closely as I could and ended up having a ton of issues, so I tweaked the wiring here and there and managed to get mine working. My main issue was that the bottom pistons wouldn't deactivate, so I had to break the redstone torches beneath them and that fixed the problem. My second issue was that when opening and closing the door, the top right piston would end up out of place and ruin the entire thing. To fix that, I had to move the torch on top a couple blocks higher so it would stop activating that torch. If anyone else was having these issues, I hope this helps! Edit: Despite the small issues I had with making my door, this tutorial was very helpful! Thank you for the tutorial!
Alright I agree it was confusing at first with the cuts, but I got it! Basically what he did was he connected the redstone wire from one button to the other. Also cut a 3x3 area with the button on the corner, the whole should be 2 blocks deep. And like he said, make sure you avoid the redstone torch and it should work! I finished it up today and now I have my first ever piston door!! Thankyou so much! If anyone needs help with their door just reply to this comment :D

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for giving a quick explanation of what the parts do as you were going through it, like saying how some pistons need to fire before the others using redstone repeaters and the pulse extender using the comparators. I don't really use redstone that often and and while it would have been a bit quicker to just say "put this here and that there", I had a better understanding of how it worked after this and managed to tweak my own design to suit.
