Ok so I have adhd, and have always wanted to make easy diy costumes without all of the complications that tend to make me lose focus…THIS is my answer! Thank you🙏
You are AMAZING!!! I am so glad I found this video because I’m making a costume for my daughter and I was panicking 😩 it has to go over a hoop skirt and my sewing skills are very minimal. Thank you again! Your skirt is beautiful ❤️
So I found your other video a few weeks ago and I used it to make a princess Tiana dress after my first two dresses I ordered didn’t come. I have another convention coming up in a few months and I want to make a belle dress from beauty and the beast. I’m definitely using this method!!
I was thinking the same thing! So the color would be super vivid but would have the dreaminess of the tulle over it. My crazy brain is also dreaming of stringing fairy lights over the solid part before hanging the tulle skirt on top...
Can I ask for when you are attaching the non tulle fabric (I forgot what it is called) to the elastic, are you cutting strips and then tying it on to the band?
Yep, so I'm just cutting slits that are about 4" apart and 4" long into the top edge of the fabric. Then I just tie each pair of adjacent little slits around the elastic in a double knot like tying shoes.
I do hope you'll answer my question. I really need this method. I'm completely lost after you finished tying the elastic, you said the tulle was folded. After that, I have no clue whats going on. Please please let me know. Don't forget, I have zero idea of where to cut what.
My fabric says 49 inches wide. Does this mean my skirt will be that length from my waist to the floor? It's way too long. What's the best way to fix it?

Same
I heard 80 yards and could not comprehend why you would need that much but I love this technique! So clever

This was also probably look nice with reversing the top layer to the bottom with the tulle layer at the top.
This is amazing!!! I can’t wait to try it!!!

so cute. amazing
I'm wondering if you can do the tulle on top of the satin and organza fabric
I was thinking the same thing! So the color would be super vivid but would have the dreaminess of the tulle over it. My crazy brain is also dreaming of stringing fairy lights over the solid part before hanging the tulle skirt on top...
