The cousin jokes got me man 😂 gotta love bama
Yeeyee
A great channel for keeping an eye on periodic maintenance ! An earlier video highlighted the full fold down front and back seats that make into a double bed and the folding table that can be used for a picnic table. Also the plastic handle that allows the back door to stay open when taking things in and out of the CRV REAR DOOR. My 22 year old 2000 CRV has only 145,000 miles on it. Thanks again Honda Resource channel.
Thanks for sharing! I use my holder pretty often in my crv!
I know how you feel about rust… My 2001 CRV spent its first 15 years in California, so it managed to escape the worst of it, but now we live in Wisconsin, it may never forgive me for living here, but the car struggles to stay rust free. I found that West Marine Rust Stain Remover EASILY removes all rust from car wheels (including brake dust) from steel or alloy wheels. It’s expensive, but worth every penny. I have not tried it on anything but wheels, but it removes all rust.
Lmaoo the man can fix cars and has a sense of humor 👍🏽
The commentary was hilarious.. keep pushin
Thank you sir
Thank you you save me a lot of money 💰 I work on cars a lot I confuse the turn signal and hazard light with the brake lights so thank you
The brake light actually fits in the turn signal and it's a lot brighter but then I check out this video and realize I confuse the two
Great video. Love the humor interjected throughout. There are two downsides I see on ur method of cleaning. First the use of full strength degreaser. It’s great for greasy engine blocks but a big no-no for the engine bay because that stuff will stain the color parts of ur engine bay. It will discolor the painted parts and badly. You will have to polish to bring it back to life creating double work. Second the use of a power washer. Your taking a machete instead of using a scalpel. A garden hose and a small stream of water will work just fine. Remember the degreaser has already done the heavy lifting. The downside to a power washer is that water could potentially get into electrical connectors and corrode wires or cause shorts. Things won’t become apparent until later on down the line. After pressure washing used compressed air to completely dry everything. Things may take longer but you won’t cause yourself headaches later on. Awesome channel. One of my top 10.
Yeah I definitely can't let the degreaser sit for a super long period. In my opinion a slightly stained engine compartment from degreaser is way better than a filthy oil / grease covered engine bay. I've been doing it this way for years and haven't had any major issues. Most of the exterior wiring connectors are water resistant.
how is ur audio so good as u walk around car? awesomeness!
From cali im 😅 lol great video crv videos are amazing thanks for the help ! Health wealth and blessings
Thank you man!
Zep did an awesome job on the wheels!
For sure.
Fried Egg ,spam & tomato on bread ,my god its superb😂
I WAS THE 100th thumbs up AWSOME CHANNEL!!!!
Thank you!
Hey man i just found your channel and I’m loving it especially loving the CRV videos I have a 1999 LX myself but I feel like I just have to say to anyone who is thinking about doing this on a 1st gen CR-V or a B series in general please be extra cautious with the spark plugs I pressure washed my engine bay before and I tried to be cautious but I still somehow managed to flood them and I didn’t realize until a few days later while I was driving I would get a sudden loss of power and it wouldn’t speed up no matter how far down I put my foot on the pedal but suddenly power would come back and would go in and out as it pleased so on the same night I pulled out all four plugs and all four plugs were drenched with watery oil so from there I had to buy new plugs and the car actually ran better then ever after I changed them
If it had oil in there, your valve cover tube seals are leaking. Typically if they get water in the tubes, I just put a paper towel in there to soak it up and it's good to go
@@hondaresource well it wasn’t much oil just a couple specs it was mostly water eventually I found out my spark plug cables wasn’t sealing correctly either it was like they were just sitting there on top they would never really snap in to place. My distributor went out to so when I replaced it I change the wires and the plugs again. And most recently I got the water pump and the valve cover gasket changed and when I first got the car my head gasket blew so I had to change that to i’m only 160k miles The car is clean in and out with no Leaks at all 👌🏽
The Honda wires had a much better rubber seal than the napa wires I took off. Mine also ran significantly better with factory NGK plugs and honda wires. The honda wires should keep water out, the napa wires no way.
lol
It was definitely a rural mail vehicle, I can vouch lol
For sure!
The brick was for a tiny jack, to be able to get leverage
thank you!
Heavy duty silicone!? Interesting. I need to try that.
You should definitely do a video on the problems of a 1st GEN CR-V
I will soon
Your awesome man
Thank you
That spray bottle likes the way you working that finger bahahaha. Sounds like it's saying "yes, yes, yes, yes" while you're spraying it on the wheels!
🤣🤣
HEY I WANTED TO GIVE A TIP! AND IT WOULD BE AWSOME IF YOU CAN MAKE A VIDEO OUT OF IT. So as you see the front bumper is faded and the side markers on the doors and rear bumper. What I did to bring the color and plastic back from it was to get that blue small tall torch they sell at Lowe’s or home depot. I turn the torch on and have on low so not too hot but enough to help the plastic come back to life. So I just do a sweeping Motion . Try it ! I did on my atv fenders and it’s like new!!!!!
I'll try it out! I've heard mixed reviews on doing that
That will dry out the plastic and if done often it will make the plastic crack faster.
Back to Black works well to restore the trim, though heating with a heat gun also works. I have never used heat so I don't know what it does to the plastic in the long run.
awesomeness to see the detail cleaning and pretty engine area again and love looking forward to shinynew wheels and engine areas etc!
I've been using kitchen degreaser on my crv. I'm going to try some purple Zep. It looks like it works pretty fast.
It works great. Just be careful if you have polished aluminum
I use the orange zep myself. It's says it's safe to use on aluminum and a few other things that the purple is not save on. It works really well as well. So purple is good but just watch out if you don't get it all off right away it could cause damage, but I have not tested it only read the bottles.
It'll just dull polished aluminum. It works really good on heavy grease
Favorite meal: breakfast. 2-egg, 10-veggie omelet with swiss cheese and biscuits with real butter and either strawberry jam or honey.
I can see taking a pic of your car when it's dirty and when it's clean, but soapy??? I don't know.
I like omelet's and pie
"that's not a tool, that's a damn brick" - gone in 60 seconds.
🤣🤣🤣
Throw some cera kote on the trim! Easiest way to fix the trim and lasts atleast a year!
That dang spray bottle be talking lol
🗣️🗣️🗣️
Love the channel, have a 99 Honda I mess with. Lol. Electric parts don't matter?
Just avoid the distributor and alternator as best you can
love a clean and shiny vehicle!
Lmao!! Good video! The random thoughts were the best. I've been wandering the same thing about the soapy cars. Does the silicone leave a film? Did u finally retire? Are u full time Hondaresource?
It leaves a slight film. No, not yet. Still gotta get the dragon back together and sold first.
@@hondaresource hopefully it's ready sooner than later!! thank you!!
@@jsimmons3090 just waiting on the gearset to come back from superfinishing
Chicken and waffle samich is the ish boi!
I need to try that
OK have a Question I have a Pearl blue 92 si Hatch mt and a White 93 4door lx mint All original auto my question is I have a b16a swap and like to pick up a k swap for one just having hard time making Decisions on what car gets what swap or not
I say k swap the sedan just to be different.
Thanks
Have crv with po171 running lean runs n drives but rpm fluctuate and feels like it wants to die at times ?
I would try having the injectors cleaned and replace the fuel filter. You could also get a fuel pressure gauge and check the fuel pressure.
P0171 could also mean you need to change the front oxygen sensor. Your symptoms sound like that's what's wrong.
little heatgun action and she'd be good to go
Yessir. At least for a little while
Lol yeeee yee! Lol gettin it
We don't have Waffle House here in Michigan. We do however have rusty rd1's.
🤣🤣🤣 no rust here!
I have to civics In mi and there Rust free there not from here and I get stopped all the time where u find that or what do u do to stop the rust I tell them I let it sit in suds for a hour everyday lmao 🤣
Come to Canada ontario it's almost impossible to find these things for sale in a condition thats not ready for the junk yard
I subscribed to your RUclips channel but after I watched this video and you mentioned in the video you once worked for the University of Alabama I was ready to unsubscribe to your channel since I am a die -hard Ohio State Buckeye fan. But since you have a great deal of knowledge about Honda's I relinquished that urge of mine. Yes, your technique of cleaning the engine bay and the tires /wheels was excellent but one stain the Crimson Tide won't get out is when Ohio State back in 2014 beat Alabama (ranked number 1) with a third-string Buckeye quarterback and went on to win the National Championship against the Oregon Ducks. You take care now and God bless.
😂😂😂
Would like your advice about purchasing some headers for my 4-banger 1.7 Honda Civic LX 2004. I figure your the guy to ask. Best regards, Kendra ,
sorry for the late reply.... save your money.
crv content !
I need to up the crv content!
@@hondaresource hey i have some serious questions regarding my rd1 crv for my exhaust system whats the best way i can contact you & by the way i just bought the test pipe with the yeet discount its doing fine so far . Thanks in advance
What state are you in?
Alabama
Where would someone get a1997 Honda CR-V BACKSEATS THAT MAKE INTO A BED?
Maybe the junk yard, I doubt you can buy them new
I like bacon
Me too!
I.dont recommand cleaning the engine bay, because of the sensors electric connectors, if any of the water or any liquid got inside them, green corrosion will buildup overtime, and you will have problems, and never know where it come.from.
The car can look like straight shit but if the door jams are clean. I'll buy it 😅
Gotta have clean jams
thank you!
thank you!
