Lindsey Buckingham is the architect to Fleetwood Macs sound. Both Stevie and Christine will acknowledge he took their songs and made them better.
At least Christine did.
Facts!!!
@@kellyreitermanStevie has too,but it’s been a while! Lol
Lindsey Buckingham was the most talented member of the group.
@@MegaSammy70 Yes, and that’s saying a LOT considering the talent level of each member individually, not to mention as a whole.
Love seeing Mick Fleetwood playing drums helping his bandmate out.
Yes .. plus Walter Egan and Bob Welch
He also had a couple of other friends in there as well, Walter Egan and former Mac member Bob Welch.
So do I, he stands so tall and is so commanding! Not sure if he gets enough credit for his drumming skills. One of the best imho!
More like Lindsey helping Mick out!
Mick couldn't find anyvgigs after the split and was financially dead
His singing and guitar on "Never going back again" is amazing. It's a masterpiece.
This live version from 2005 of "Never Going Back Again" as a duo with Stevie is fantastic: ruclips.net/video/9yPxIljCLpg/видео.html
That's honestly a song that they need to do on this channel. It's FM...but it's also so Lindsey Buckingham. One of the simplest songs you'll ever hear, but one I ALWAYS have to stop and listen to whenever it comes on.
I love the finger-picking on that song. I've requested it for Jay & Amber to play before.
Agreed 100% this should be on the channel. You can see Lindsey's genius finger picking, you can hear the tone and strength of his voice. And you can hear how well Stevie can compliment him and how unique her voice is. There is an HD version of the video Glen posted (there's also a longer one where he introduces Stevie)... the HD version is here: ruclips.net/video/27QaDxG36DM/видео.html
With Christine.
"Trouble" was Lindsey Buckingham's 1st solo chart hit, peaking @ #9 in late 1981 - early 1982. Later, he charted 2 more singles : "Holiday Road" from National Lampoon's Vacation (#82 in 1983) & "Go Insane" (#23 in 1984).
As soon as you said Holiday Road I started singing it in my head.
Incredible to hear that Holiday Road only made it to #82 on the charts. I would have bet money that it was Top 5.
@@clintonsmith5163 Yeah that surprised me too. I would have thought it cracked the Top 40 at least.
I prefer "Go Insane". I like the edge and shifts in it. Being a bit more visual with artists who came into their own in the age of MTV, his music video knocks it out of the park.
His best solo song is "Countdown" from 1992's "Out of the Cradle", arguably his best solo album, and to be honest, LB is better solo than in FM anyway... he's too much of a distinctive artist on his own to be in a fivesome where he would have to compromise his own vision to flourish to the best of his ability & creativity...
Lindsey is one of the rare guitarists that you can hear him playing and know exactly who it is. He has a very distinctive style. He's really amazing.
Joe Walsh is another
Lindsey is a plucker, not too many guitarists can pluck
So true.
He’s in my top 5. So unique!
@@becomer1 There's got to be a smutty joke about this somewhere 🙄🤣 As a guitarist, I love Lindsey Buckingham's unique style and have tried (unsuccessfully) to copy it many times!
Fleetwood Mac is not the backup band for Stevie Nicks. You really need to react to Lindsey's songs with Fleetwood Mac because not only has he written and sung lots of their songs, but he was the architect of their sound and produced Stevie's and Christine's songs. Lindsey is a talented genius. Listen to "Go Your Own Way", "Never Going Back Again", "Second Hand News", the live version of "Big Love" from their 1998 concert "The Dance", and the "Tusk" album is Lindsey's production. Some people don't like it but Lindsey was always innovating so check out the title track "Tusk", "The Ledge", "Save Me a Place", "What Makes You Think You're the One", "Not That Funny" and "I Know I'm Not Wrong". Also, he did an album with Christine a few years back called "Buckingham McVie" that was supposed to be a Fleetwood Mac album but Stevie didn't want to do it. 🙄 Mick Fleetwood and John McVie joined Christine and Lindsey on the album and it's quite good.
Amen! There seems to be a misunderstanding of Lindsey’s role in Fleetwood Mac here. Lindsey, Stevie and Christine shared songwriting and lead vocal duties in the band. If anything, Lindsey typically (and Christine) had more songs per LP than Stevie. Lindsey, unlike Stevie, was intricately involved in every song the band recorded - as guitarist, occasional keyboardist, producer/arranger, vocalist. He was instrumental in arranging Stevie’s songs, and was - in Christine’s words - her favorite producer. From musical director to the band’s driving creative force - Lindsey was FAR more than a backup musician/vocalist for Stevie. Oh, and Lindsey wrote hit songs for the band too, including 3 top 10 singles. Christine - not Stevie - wrote more hits for the band than any other writer. I love Stevie, but her role in the band gets over amplified because of her solo success. The band is successful because of all its members - not just one.
@@redletter2008 And Amen to your comment! I was a huge Stevie fan in the 80s and I saw her live twice. However, she's no saint and Lindsey isn't the devil incarnate. They are flawed human beings like the rest of us. People need to remember that the only reason Stevie got in Fleetwood Mac in the first place was because Lindsey made them a package deal. Mick just wanted Lindsey after hearing the "Buckingham/Nicks" album. This is a fact that the general public doesn't know and Stevie chooses to forget. Am I glad that she was in the band? Of course, but that power went to her head when she got him fired a few years back and then they tried to replace him with two guitarists (Mike Campbell and Neil Finn) on their last tour and I'm sorry, no one matches Lindsey's playing, vocals, or stage presence.
Fleetwood Mac have been around for a LONG time. They started with Peter Green as a blues band, had a phase with Bob Welch, and a few others I can't recall at the moment. Way before Lindsey and Stevie. "Oh Well"is from the early years and Lindsey kills it.
exactly drives me NUTS when rob said that. Lindsey is the architect of their sound 100 percent. He did most of the work.
They have reacted to a shit ton of Fleetwood Mac already. I think they "get it".
He is very underrated. "Go Insane" is another great song that's a bit off center. His best solo work with Fleetwood Mac was "I'm So Afraid". One of the best guitar solos ever IMO. Thanks guys.
OMG. "Go Insane" is one of my favorite songs ever. What a great song.
"I'm So Afraid" is a superb song!
I'm So Afraid live from The Dance, man that guitar solo is amazing! Countdown has some good guitar playing as well
I agree!!! He is a guitar virtuoso! 🎸🔥I also love his voice in "TUSK"! I hope they react to that one in the near future, great song, and video with the amazing USC marching band! 🥁🥁🎺🎺🎷🎷🎶🎶🎵🎵🎼🎼🎶🎶
@@wendyjenae Yes! 100%!
You’ve gotta watch and listen to Lindsey Buckingham’s live acoustic version of Fleetwood Mac’s “Big Love”. It’ll mesmerize you!
I got to see it once live. The genius of that solo performance is something to behold. That's the sort of personal, emotive, personal representation of a song that's too rarely heard today. It's raw in the best way.
You beat me to it! His solo acoustic "Big Love" is incredible. Absolutely freakin' incredible.
He makes one guitar sound like two. That's the sort of song that other guitar players who've had a few lessons and think they're pretty good will watch Lindsey play that song and they go WHAT!?
I was just going to request for the 3rd time, you all beat me to it! Pure genius displayed on that one
The Tango In the Night might as well have been a Buckingham project. Every song on the album has his stamp and style on the music and the lyrics. My favorite of his style and superb picking is "Family Man". He's a musical genius and helped take Fleetwood Mac to amazing heights.
Lindsey is Fleetwood Mac’s secret weapon. They were a blues band, needing a guitar player/singer. They asked Lindsey. He said not without Stevie. It was/is his imagination, creativity, artistry, arranging, production that turned them into a super group. Mick and John may be the heartbeat, but Linsey is the veins through which their talent and art gets distributed.
I concur! :)))))
The Live version of “Big Love” from The Dance Tour(1997) has to be one of Lindsey’s best performances as a guitarist and a vocalist.
absolutely!
it really is I had that CD and would play it all the time, and I have that DVD
Lindsay engineered most of Fleetwood Mac songs and many of Stevies and other artists. I always loved this song.
Bingo! Lindsey was to Fleetwood Mac like Brian Wilson was to The Beach Boys. And Lindsey idolizes Brian. And as others have said here in the comments you need to go deeper in the Mac catalog. Not only do they have a huge history *before* Buckingham Nicks (who joined the band as a couple, after recording their duo album which is impossible to find, but is great), but after joining not only did Lindsey have so much to do with the production of almost every Fleetwood Mac song, but he had lots of his own songs, and as someone else has mentioned, more than Stevie’s output.
While everybody in FM was valuable, if I had to choose an MVP in that band, it would be Lindsey Buckingham.
Exactly! It baffles me when Jay said he liked Lindsey solo more. The sound on this song is VERY Fleetwood Mac like. Exactly because of Lindsey's influence on Fleetwood Mac albums overall. Jay is slowly letting go of the lens of judging FM as Stevie's Back up band, but he has a ways to go still. I think Amber is further ahead in understanding this now.
Engineered produced and arranged.
Jay, if it weren't for Lindsey, you would've NEVER heard of Stevie. The band wanted HIM to join, but he not only insisted that Stevie was a part of the package, he wrote most of their songs during his tenure, rewrote or orchestrated the songs both Stevie and Christine wrote to make them better, and in the case of Stevie, acceptable to the band, but he directed pretty everything the band wrote and released. That's WHY they hired him, and he made them not only popular again, but chart higher than they ever had.
On this recording, Buckingham did vocals, guitars, electric piano, drum overdubs and percussions. George Hawkins played the bass, and fellow Fleetwood Mac member Mick Fleetwood played the drums. That's all! Magic.
Mick actually only ever played 4 bars before he left the session, so what they did was take the tape of the drum tracks that were already recorded, spliced them into a loop onto the master tape, then overdubbed everything else on top of the looped/assembled drum tracks. Easy to do with DAWs nowadays (comp a drum track, quantize to grid, done) but with tape, it must have been a very painstaking process.
His "Holiday Road" song is underrated. Mostly because of its close relationship with the "Vacation" movie franchise.
I agree! I love “Holiday Road”. It should have been a much bigger hit in my opinion.
Agreed! That record is a pop masterpiece. So seemingly simple and yet so completely catchy.
Jay & Amber, you'll love his "Go Insane"!!! You may remember his song "Holiday Road" from your review of the movie 'Vacation'.
edit- National Lampoon's Vacation.
Another treat for you is Christine McVie’s solo ‘Got a Hold On Me’. I feel like she never got the credit she deserved. As musicians go, she was so impressive, and a natural at what she did.
Should definitely check out Big Love as a live performance.
He's my favorite arpeggio (fast and detailed finger picker instead of strumming with a pick) on a guitar ever. Such a talent.
‘Go Your Own Way’ is one of my favorite Lindsey songs! ❤
Killer song!
Lindsey Buckingham was honestly a musical genius in so many ways. He was actually very OCD in fine tuning how all FM songs were put together in the studio. If you go back and watch many of the old BTS clips of them in the studio in the 70's/80's, you will see that while many of the band members just wanted go home, Lindsey was relentless in getting things just right. Probably played a part in why they eventually broke up. So why he was a very demanding perfectionist, and maybe not the easiest guy to work with, he was also extremely talented, and played a HUGE role in FM's success.
@👉 Tekking101 you are a creep
Walter Becker and Donald Fagan were like that on Steely Dan sessions too. But Steely Dan weren't so much a band as an aesthetic and a songwriting duo and on their records, they just played musical chairs with session players (so to speak). Aja had a different band than Home At Last, etc (Steve Gadd and Bernard Purdie etc.)
The dreamy layering of vocals and magical guitar sounds really are ethereal...like floating on clouds. ❤
If you enjoy the ethereal sound in this song, check out “You And I (Part 1)”. Many people aren’t familiar with it because it was only ever available as the B-side of “Big Love”, but it’s very haunting and ethereal. It’s strange, but absolutely beautiful. ❤️
@@daleofficer1709 I totally agree. Have you ever heard the mix version that ties parts 1 and 2 together? It doesn't get any better than that :)
@@LuisDiaz-zr2vs yes I have and you’re right! It’s amazing!
Rob Lindsey is the DRIVING force and producer/ writer/singer of the bands sound. He is one of the MAJOR reasons for their success. he's literally a GENIUS. You guys did Go your own way which is one of their biggest songs. Probably the most views on RUclips. BTW they split writing and singing EQUALLY between the three. Check out Big Love studio AND live version next. Amazing.
"Big Love" & "Never Going Back Again" (Fleetwood Mac) are 2 of my favorite vocals of Lindsey's.
I love Big Love!!!
Second Hand News
Lindsey Buckingham - Go Insane (Official Music Video)👍👍👍
You need to do Hold Me from Fleetwood Mac,he and Christine are prominent in that one and their voices sound amazing together.
'Hold Me' is the best Mac song, IMO. The combination of Lindsey and Christine's vocals IS the Fleetwood Mac sound.
@@PaulWhytcross Is that the one where you hear the dog bark all the way through the song? That dog is right on pitch and tempo.
@@folkmusic99pretty sure that’s Holiday Road where the dog barks
Actually someone beat me to it but He sang solo on Holiday Road. The theme song for the movie National Lampoon’s Vacation.
I remember I think J mentioning the song when they watched Vacation, and I was thinking "little do they know, that's Lindsey Buckingham!"
Lindsey has so many great songs where he has the lead in Fleetwood Mac... don't sell him short! "I'm So Afraid" is a great song with an amazing guitar solo, and I recommend the version from their live album. "Never Going Back Again", "Go Your Own Way", "The Chain" and his solo hits "Holiday Road", "Go Insane" and the solo one-man-show live version of "Big Love", are all great songs.
Jay, I grew up loving Fleetwood Mac and mostly Stevie Nicks, seeing them live in '83 and Stevie live in '84, and even though I still like Stevie, I have a much bigger appreciation of Lindsey and his masterful arranging and producing of all the songs on the Fleetwood Mac records. He is a visionary and as you saw in the beginning of this one, he's also trying different stuff like grunting that definitely sets it apart. He is severely underrated and, as stated by Amber, his guitar work is impeccable.
Same with me. Like Jay, I was drawn to Stevie first. Major fan, but I always preferred her work with Fleetwood Mac. I knew the early albums Stevie and Lindsey did with the band as my mom had the LPs in the ‘70s. Only when I was older did I more fully appreciate how talented and vital the other band members were - especially Lindsey and Christine. Arguably, Fleetwood Mac would never have become one of the biggest bands in rock without Lindsey’s contributions and influence. Stevie would never have been in the band had it not been for Lindsey’s insistence she join with him. He did a better job arranging Stevie’s songs than any other producer, and Stevie and many others have said as much. Christine stated Lindsey was her favorite producer and loved the work he did on her material. Since 1975, Lindsey has provided Fleetwood Mac with its edge, vision and drive on stage - and this has been most evident when they carried on without him! Amber always gets the intricacies of songs and did so again here. Love that Jay and Amber are exploring this band and I can’t fault them for focusing on Stevie first. I did too, but like me, I’m sure they’ll get there and come to value the other members as well.
A hidden gem from '81! He was doing solo at this time as was Stevie Nicks....Fleetwood Mac was taking a break.
Christine is on backing and Mick is playing drums. It’s essentially the sound of FM that most people know because Lindsey was so hands on in that era of the band.
That was indeed Christine McVie's backing vocals & Mick Fleetwood on drums. Awesome song!
Lindsey on background vocals too. Mick on drums. Two former FM guitarists are also in the video.
One of my favorites by Lindsey, "Never Going Back Again" from the Rumours Album. Such great guitar playing, as well as, epic vocals and harmonies.
Lindsey didn't leave the band to do this album. He, Stevie and Christine had done solo albums between Fleetwood Mac gigs. His albums are really good. He does a lot of his own background vocals with layering. BTW, the writer and lead singer of "Landslide" was Stevie Nicks :)
“So Afraid” live is awesome!! Especially his guitar licks in that song.
What a great atmospheric song by Lindsey
Some Fleetwood Mac songs with Lindsey Buckingham on lead vocals that you might want to listen to include, Monday Morning, Second Hand News and Never Going Back Again.
Lindsey Buckingham a true master of his craft. So talented
The live version of "Oh Well, part 1" I think is one of his best moments with Fleetwood Mac. "Long Distance Winner" with him and Stevie prior to joining Fleetwood Mac is another must listen.
“Oh well” is a great early tune with a very cool vibe. It was several years beforeI realized it was Fleetwood Mac doing it.
Find any live version of "Big Love" if you want to see what this man can do on the guitar. He's a beast.
"Countdown" is another great Lindsey track!! 💕
Lindsey is a great arranger either it be his songs or Fleetwood Mac …his stamp is always there!! He also arranged Stevie’s songs!!
Clicked it 17 seconds after posting. Woo hoo!
"Go Insane" is my favorite Lindsey song
If you want some pure Stevie & Lindsey you need to listen to their album "Buckingham Nicks" from 1973, before Fleetwood Mac, when they were young and in love. Some of their best work.
I recently re-discovered this song and I had forgot how much I love it. ❤❤❤ Will listen a million times on repeat!
Jay, you say like him solo because you haven't really listened to hardly any songs that he was the main writer and singer for in Fleetwood Mac. You did one very early on (Go your own way) and you loved it! You do so many reactions I wonder if you forgot this one? I am glad you both are starting to get the incredible depth of talent that makes up Fleetwood Mac! It has Fleetwood Mac Vibes because Lindsey is a huge influence and part of the band. One of the three incredible vocalists and songwriters. Also a totally underrated guitar player. He also produced Fleetwood Mac albums. Other fantastic Lindsey Buckingham songs in FM to check out would be I'm So Afraid, Never Going Back Again, Second Hand News, Monday Morning or Tusk. Tusk has particularly awesome drums and a marching band. If you do that one, you have to do the official music video! It is a classic! You will see a very young Stevie Nicks twirling a baton.
The odd beginning, well that is another trademark part of Lindsey Buckingham. He could get very experimental and it wasn't always good IMO. Big Love is another great song by him in FM, but it does have this little bit odd "Ooh Ah" part. And some will definitely disagree, but I think his oddness was balanced out by the others in Fleetwood Mac. that is what great bandmates do, they bring out the best and keep the not so great parts in check. I do believe this trait is why he never made it as big as a solo artist as he would have liked.
Lindsey Buckingham also sings the opening song to the National Lampoon Vacation movies
"BIG LOVE" live cut. so good him playing guitar and singing
"Second Hand News" off the Rumors album is great.
His voice should also sound familiar from the theme songs in the movie "Vacation" starring Chevy Chase.
Here it is... From someone who has been obsessed with every member of Fleetwood Mac for the last 40 years... You need to check out the song Big Love, but listen to it twice. The album version with a music video, and then the live version from The Dance concert special. Two very different styles for the same song, but both are all Lindsey. The studio version was going to be on his solo album, but the Mac had to get back together, so he brought the song to them for their album instead, so it's really a solo song that he got the band to chip in on. Then the live version, is just acoustic finger picking madness with him standing alone on stage in command, so totally different. Do those two songs, and never have low expectations of Lindsey Buckingham ever again. After hearing both versions, you'll have insane levels of respect for him. Stevie or no Stevie...
Lindsey is a fantastic vocalist and guitarist. I always loved the live version of Big Love as mentioned by others. This oddly enough, this is the first time I've listened to this song and I got to hear it with y'all. I regretfully didn't follow his solo career.
And fantastic writer and producer
Listen to Countdown. My favorite out of his solo work. Go Insane was great also
His albums are all on YT and Spotify - I suggest starting with Out Of The Cradle (1992). They're all good to great and there's a lot of variety. Or listen to his Anthology.
Monday Morning and Second Hand News are my 2 favorite songs with Lindsey on lead vocals in Fleetwood Mac.
This was a minor hit for Linsey. I always thought it was a Fleetwood Mac song that the others may not have wanted to record. It sounds so much like a Mac song.
I love how he plays with his fingers!
#9 on billboard is Not minor
@@johnbrocks7217
I was about to write the same thing.😂
It sounds like a Mac song because Lindsey produced many of Mac's signature songs...
The song was no longer on the charts after 7 weeks...a little short of 2 months!
Mick Fleetwood, Bob Welch, Bob Weston, Walter Egan, Bob Aguirre... a lot of FM former members and collaborators in the video...
Before they joined Fleetwood Mac, Lindsey and Stevie made an album together titled Buckingham/Nicks. It was fire. Most of the songs became Fleetwood Mac hits. ☮💜🎶
Only one song from that album - Crystal - made it onto a Fleetwood Mac album. But I agree it's a great album.
I’m the same but this is actually one of my top 100 favorite songs of all time 💯🫠🎯💛 I don’t know why, but it’s just mesmerizing😃
Lindsey Buckingham is why Fleetwood Mac is who they are. His guitar playing and lyrics are sublime...
I’ve Always liked this song..first heard it on the soundtrack to the movie “ just one of the guys “ great movie great song..
He sang lead on Go Your Own Way,a song that you covered.Check out live version. He is an amazing guitarist and singer😊
Please, react to Lindsey playing solo "Big Love" ...it is amazing!!!
Ah. So much. I want to say about this: #1 Thanks for finally listening to Trouble. This is my most fave song favorite of all time. #2 I absolutely love Lindsey anyway. #3 Seeing Mick Fleetwood playing alongside Lindsey is awesome! Keep doing what you 2 do Squad Fam.. Love ya!
A brilliant songwriter and producer with a unique guitar technique and harmonic vocals.
I was in my senior year of high school when this came out, and it was one of my favorite songs at that time. And I've had it on my playlist ever since.
Another great Lindsey tune to check out is “Go Insane”. I also highly recommend another artist who was a member of Fleetwood Mac right before Lindsey and Stevie came on board. Bob Welch. He had a few hits I think you would love: “Ebony Eyes”, “Precious Love”, and my personal favorite “Sentimental Lady”, which also features Lindsey on guitar and Christine on backing vocals. I think “Sentimental Lady” is one of the most beautiful songs ever, and so unique, thanks in part to Lindsey’s guitar and production work. Hopefully you’ll check it out sometime. ❤️
Mick Fleetwood on drums , love it.
At 2:43 our boy Jay looks at Amber see she has her eyes closed so he lifts his hands to his heart and holds his own hands. Love it .
Strangely, for a super group, the individual members are often underrated. Lindsey plays with such passion and skill. Mick Fleetwood often plays his heart out, and glad to see him supporting Lindsey. It really killed Mick to fire him a few years ago when Stevie Nicks demanded he be fired over some perceived slight, or lose her and the rights to play any song she had written for the band. And unfortunately, with Christine McVie’s passing and her being one of his biggest supporters, there is no longer any hope of the band fully reuniting for any more tours or albums.
Slow Dancing, Countdown or Go Insane. Lindsey is a hell of a fine guitarist and a topnotch producer. Understand, Stevie & Lindsey joined Fleetwood Mac together and that's when the group became a true supergroup. His work solo is right up there with Christie & Stevies.
"Big Love" will blow you away. He absolutely shreds it, vocally and on guitar.
I’m fairly new to your channel so I’m gonna tell you if you want to really hear some more of Lindsay’s talent react to Fleetwood Mac’s song “I’m So Afraid” live from their 1997 show”The Dance” It’s pure fire 🎸🔥🎶 You will love it!!!
You should hear the extended version of this. 🔥🔥
1981 this came out and it still sounds fresh in 2024!
thank you so much guys for reacting on Lindsey Buckingham as a solo performer this was a mega hit worldwide although it was his biggest song but it definitely shows his recognizable talent
my favourite song is Countdown by Lindsey, it's just so spring/summer to me.
Awesome! One of my favorites! Excellent song.
I love, love Lindsey always have. He is so gorgeous. This was my exposure to anyone from Fleetwood Mac and then Stevie and then the band. Those days when the Solid Gold Dancers would perform dances to this song.
Lindsey Buckingham played the song Holiday Road in the National Lampoons vacation with Chevy Chase.
Buckingham truly a gifted quirky perfectionist sometimes difficult creative... as the geniuses usually are. The genius behind Fleetwood Mac.
"Trouble" is a sweet, melodic tune with a very funky opening sequence....I've always felt they underused that opening!
Read up on the production on this. Mick Fleetwood plays a drum lick that was put on a loop and used throughout the entire song. Can’t remember the bass players name, but they are the only outside people on this song. Everything else is Lindsay Buckingham. Drum fills, keyboards, guitars, all vocals, including background. It’s all Lindsey.
To The Dynamic Duo,
A great way to start on the road of solo Lyndsey Buckingham. He is so talented it is unfair. Singing, musician and writer. As others have said, he is underrated. Keep up the great work. Thanks, Robert
Love that "Spanish Guitar" style of picking throughout the song.
Lindsey is an incredible song writer.
Love all the cameos. My fav Lindsey song. Always loved the arpeggio... Haunting...airy...awesome 💯
Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie actually paired quite well in the Fleetwood Mac song ‘Hold Me ‘ . They harmonise so well together .
Try some other Fleetwood Mac solo efforts - Christine McVie’s Got A Hold On Me and Stevie Nick’s Stand Back or Room’s On Fire .
Lindsey is my favorite member of Fleetwood Mac! They wouldn't have the same sound without him. I can always pick out his voice. It's distinctive! Not to mention his genius songwriting and guitar playing. I was wondering when the two of you would realize all the above. I grew up in that era and a lot of those details were common knowledge then. Love your reactions! ❤
Lindsey even did a great job on the banjo on “Say You Love Me”. Super talented guy for sure.
Lindsey recorded this solo album while he was still a member of Fleetwood Mac. He wouldn't leave until years later.
Lindsey changed the sound of Fleetwood Mac and made them big. His solo music is just as great as you see here.
You absolutely should react to some of his lead vocal songs from Fleetwood Mac! There are SO many gems. He created a lot of their sound and is so underrated. I love Stevie and Christine, but most of my favorite FM songs are ones where he is lead vocal. And his skill as a guitarist is insanely fantastic.
This song is really cool to listen to in the dark with your girl laying next to you...!
If you want to hear Buckingham's guitar work, see FM live from Boston where they close out with 'I'm So Afraid', it is pure joy to hear at full volume!!!
Lindsey has many songs in Fleetwood Mac as well where Stevie and Christine sing backup. Three songwriters/singers in one band making a huge variety of styles of songs. Their album, Rumours is one of best selling albums in recording history, and three of them have fantastic songs on it. You should check out the entire album. It’s a masterpiece.
Magnificent track from Lindsey. So dreamy and magical. Could listen to this on repeat all day long.
Lindsey is so talented and unique in his methods. Love his music.❤
Man o man, i really dug this fantastic song the first time i heard it in 81, still do! Definitely he is a great guitarist along with his great voice. I surely hope he and Stevie reunite on a professional level someday.
Ok.
You MUST hear Big Love, Shut Us Down, Seeds We Sow, Rock Away Blind, Go Insane, Holiday Road....
His talent is endless. He and Stevie...mostly his production are responsible for the unique FWM post 1975 sound.
Even the silly vid doesn't detract from the ethereal, mesmerizing quality of this tune. Love the guitar and Lindsays voice...oh my!
All that dark, curly hair...💋💋💋
Thank you RSF!
One of the most underrated guitar players ever.
I always loved this song so much! I bought his solo album after hearing Trouble and the whole album is a masterpiece. ❤
Also his song Holiday Road is an earworm of the finest caliber! 🙂
Christine McVie did indeed do some backing vocals on the album, although she is not credited for this particular song.
Ya'll definitely need to listen to "I'm so Afraid" live by Fleetwood Mac. It is a Lindsey powerhouse!
This was played in my roller skating days. Then I didn't hear it for years. Then about 15 years later I heard it somewhere and I realized I used to really like this song and was like "oh my, who sung this song!?".
Lindsey Buckingham is a Masterful Guitarist - a Legend - and I've been a fan since childhood!! Please also check out his solo hits = Go Insane, Time Bomb Town, Slow Dancing, and my favorite Fleetwood Mac song "Big Love" with his amazing guitar solo and his sultry, mysterious vocals and lyrics. The music video is a VIBE too! Keep smiling y'all!!
