Thank you the install of the brake pads helped me out a lot! Couldn’t remember how they went back in and your video was immensely helpful on this, thanks again.
Great vid mate. Just got my GQ back from Vic to Qld. Was sitting in a shed for 8 years. Done the whole cooling system and water pump and other stuff. Now the brake pedal is hard, gotta really press hard to stop so I'm going to service the brakes and check calipers. Thanks again. Going through your other GQ vids🙂
Thanks mate i was never intending to do this maintenance but you documented the process so well that i will have a crack this weekend.....2 dirty thumbs up to you!!!!
Great vid mate My front calipers started sticking a while ago, the car would almost stop in the middle of roundabouts... Just to be safe I went through and replaced all the Discs, Pads and Calipers
Cheers mate with the amount of abuse we give the old patrols or any four-wheel drive in that nature it doesn't hurt to lubricate the slides every now and then. 👍
Hey mate, great video. However, the guide pins are the wrong way around according to Nissans schematics for front brakes. Might want to update this video so people don’t go chucking their brakes back together wrong. The pin with the rubber sleeve goes to the bottom and the larger pin goes to the top. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much mate, my warped front rotors be gone! Great video, clear and no longwinded American bullshit 🤙🤙 you got any good videos replacing the radiator on a 92 Patrol 4.2L 6cyl Petrol? D.I.Y is the key!

Awesome easy to understand video. Now I feel confident changing the front brake discs on my GQ

Great vids, deserves more views
Thanks mate 👍
Great step by steps on replacing rotors and pads, however are these the same on.GU?
Yup, same process for both GU and GQ. Only difference is that the GU has twin pot callipers..
Awesome video mate! Keep them coming :))
good to see your using the GU lock tabs instead of the GQ ones.
That's a great upgrade for anyone that has a GQ Patrol fitting the GU wheel bearing nut and retainer
@@downtheshedwithbyron Wolfcreek
Finding it hard to find retaining plates are they necessary.
Yeah kinda the help stop the pads from excessive movement and vibration

I think ive got an old video i done when i first start the youtubing so bear with me i was new to the game haha
Is it the same for the GU patrol?
Yeah mate pretty much
What year is your gq
Gday mate
1990
Interesting. I don't use the bearing washer.
Hey mate, without the proper tool for the lock nut, can it be undone/tightened with screwdrivers across from each other?
Yeah mate depending on what retaining nut you have gq or gu
@@downtheshedwithbyron just a standard gq? Do I need the special hub nut tool? Cheers
hi is this same for gu?
Gday mate
Its basically the same except twin piston caliper
Will you be doing a brake bleed video with the rear weight proportion valve? Great vid again. Cheers 👍
Thanks mate yeah can do see what I can do in the near future
who gave me mate a thumbs down, i am coming for you.
Haha Darren it's all good mate can't please everyone
