I always enjoyed a leisurely ride across the old AA when time permitted. Absolutely beautiful ride, and it kinda gave me a better appreciation for what life over the road was like for the generation of drivers who preceded me.
I love what you are doing for us! I was forced to retire at least 20 years earlier than Ig planned due to health issues. Getting to ride along with you kinda eases the sting of what I was hoping for... THANK YOU, STEVE!!!

Steve with all the miles and bouncing around a cabover puts you through treat yourself with a new seat for Orwell and you.
Its amazing the difference a seat can make I had problems with my left side an didn't realise it was the seat. When your racking up the miles a good seat is VIP.

Good seeing that opening sequence with you in time-lapse showing how frequently an attentive driver not only looks where they are going, but looks for what is coming up from behind and beside, plus checking the gauges to make sure his rig is running right.
I have seen accident footage from cams pointed at drivers showing them in a thousand yard death stare or messing around on their phones or even falling asleep at the wheel before a crash.

Being a retired cat tech...its really interesting how the a&b models love the higher rpm as a mechanical injected engine. Now move into the electronic engines for example...2ws...6nz. The favorite for glider builds and so on.The ECM fired unit injected engines male the best power at 1600 to 1800 rpm. Just a comparison on evolution of these awesome power plants

Apart from a new drivers seat Steve Orwell also needs a passengers side mudflap and rear chrome drive rims to look the part otherwise orwell still looks rough and ready

Hey Steve do you ever miss having the ease of a conventional in having to get in and out of when hooking and unhooking , and did you ever get your one drive tire replace or are you still running the steer tire on it
He's still running that steer from what I've seen and I have the same question about getting in and out of the cab when loading/unloading.
Looks like North Carolina dot truck looks like it carried a salt spreader for few years I got old f350 4 door from state auction it was ruff body but good mechanical it's a beast .
Gotta love when you stop at a light and it turns green... Why go to the gym when you can haul loads like this? Almost a complete workout! Nice camera angles as always and a lil CB chatter. I thought the last Sterling you loaded was rough until I saw this one. Looks like they beat the shit out of the cab and it lost the war miserably.
Why does your truck smoke so bad when you shift gears? You probably have a soup up setting on the motor. It’s nice to have that extra power.
I liked the color of that truck plus it was a Sterling. I’m going to look up when the last year they made that brand.

Steve watched a vedio from D Dominicgic she was in Reno Nevada at a truck show. I've got a sword, I've saying. Trucks that had the same paint scheme as Orwell or well. The other family gets a chance to play Sudden death. What happened to Ross? Here we go, and I'll be mad.

Don't know what kind of trailer that is, but watching the in and out of the cab just to detach was painful. As much heavy equipment you haul I believe I would be looking at a Trail King, Rogers or Talbert detachable gooseneck............... Just thinking out loud.

Hi Steve i agree with you i would not haul a dump truck that is a rust bucket
35 is better than running AA if double AA is the same as it was when I last ran it 20+ years ago it's got some towns to go through and its got some pretty good hills, them police used to like catching trucks coming down those hills, I don't run it anymore since I discovered 35.
STEVE. Sometime could you go through the dials, switches, levers etc. displayed in and around you. Explain to and shòw us non truck drivers which does what ? Gracias😊.

Steve, The quickest, safest and legal way the to tie the rear down is to run the chain between the duals and squish rubber. Let the truck ride naturally. I have many trucks and trailers across the states and never had an issue. Thanks for lovely 362 view as I drove a '96 362 for about 10 years hauling used fuel trucks and trailer. Keep up the great work!

This dump truck use to be a NCDOT plow truck, they either seen heavy use and abuse, or they were hardly ever used.
My guess is that was an old surplus state truck... then that business where you picked it up had bought it... and then they run it for another several years more.

The driver's side stack is a longer run, so the exhaust is running a little cooler on that side.
That thing spread a many of ton of salt on Afton Mountain on I 64 and Christiansburg Mountain on I 81.
