I honestly did not feel much of a drastic difference. Maybe the Rode Smart Lav+ is a better option.
omnidirectional is when the mic captures sound from all around. If you mean do you need directional, that is not what it is
Seromonic was not worth
The audio seems to be same....but what I was expecting is that change the setting of mic in Gopro to Standard Mic + and check the difference.
Your audio may be clear, but you need to keep your audio levels from peaking so you don't blow out your viewer's ears. Every time you cut to another scene your audio gets so loud. Keep your audio levels the same and keep them under -3 to -6 db.

Omni means all direction. Uni means one direction. This is an omnidirectional mic. Not what you want.
There is no difference in your audio quality between gopro internal and saramonic external microphone. It's better to invest more and buy Saramonic or Rode wireless microphone.
Internal audio seems better to me than the Saramonic's one!

Funny..as most if not all the GoPro users around RUclips see this Saromonic mic as one of the worst to go for lol to many audio popping issues on a outside environment.
Bullu bhai no difference at all...use Boya lm20 ...that is best mike for go pro. I use the same and result is awesome .

I like when it grabs all the audio because it helps get in touch with reality whats going on around you but of course you will be the loudest which why i love rode micro so much. Rode micro is very good if you in nature as well like you can hears birds crickets and frogs depending where you at, makes video perfect, i think people to picky and get shotguns when they sound like you talk trough the pipes, never understood it, i rather hear a car driving by then a pipe sound.

KKOA_ i realized that u need diff accessories if u wanna set up a microphone on the go pro..hence i got annoyed and stopped that. However i am using iphone 11 pro max for my vid and using a shure mic..as far i am satisfied with that..

I think using external microphones is more clear sound compare internal... but the noise surrounding is still have... by the way your video is helpful

Can confirm for the video: I don't hear any "this or that is better" difference ... and can confirm for the microphone: the Saramonic got a lot of good reviews on youtube; I bought it (€20) + the ridiculously expensive Gopro mic adapter (>€50) ... and it does not sound any better ... even worse: change your Gopro settings to not use the internal wind protection but always only use stereo only instead, and the sound is by far better out of the camera itself ... so on this end: a total waste of money 🙁

I am using the same Saramonic mic since ages. That lavelier or lapel mic is simply not reliable. It captures only left side of go pro audio but Saramoic sorted all those problems

Boya is also offering some mic and getting some share in market. I have requested my friend to borrow his boya collar mic for testing. Bulu bhai aap bhi boya ko contact karo they offer cheaper solutions but i am not sure about quality.

Hi Bullu, nice vidoe but when I am using external mic and ride my bike at slow speed which is less than 30kph sound capture good via external mic but as I speed up and it goes above 50 kmph there is zzzz sound comes while recording even I put mic close the chin pad. Do u have any solution

Hi Bulu. I was planning for the similar setup for my Gopro Hero 8. But one thing I noticed is that we have to change the GoPro shutter door when we use an adaptor to connect the mic, which is not waterproof. So I think this isn't a good set-up for rain weather use. Please let me know how to get an all weather setup.

Hey, do we get that case for other action cameras like sjcam? I use a wired microphone while riding with my helmet on but the same microphone is not that handy while speaking without my helmet.. Although my sjcam internal microphone is good, anything that would improve the audio quality interests me..

Bro I've one issue in my hero 9 that when i listen the recorded auido after plugging the earphone or with bt earphone then the sound only comles from left side and right side doesn't work. But when i watch the video without earphone then theres no problem. So can you help in this?
