Reminds me of the 98 DX i have. Got it out of a scrap yard for $325.00. Jumped it and drove it home with 83,000 miles on it. 12 years latter It now has 500,400 miles and still running grate. Its amazing what just being maintained will do.

My old 94 was the 2nd cheapest car I ever bought at $250. Had a rebuilt title and 273,000 miles. Burned oil, had dents in every panel, fuel gauge didn't work (same as this one), and it squeaked and rattled everywhere. But it ran like a clock, even with me beating the hell out of it since I also maintained the hell out of it.

I think the 90s and early 2000s were that perfect balance of just enough technology to reasonably improve performance, efficiency, safety, and quality of life without forgoing ease/cost of maintenance and relative simplicity, at least on well engineered cars. Which is why 90s and 2000s cars are still on the road en masse and will be for at least another decade. With recession upon us, the cheap beater will reign supreme.

I had a 2000 Civic EX, drivers regulator went out, got one from EBAY, never worked or aligned right, motor burned out in 2 weeks. Had to go to Honda and paid alot for the frame, and put the motor off the original on, worked like a champ. Sometimes OEM is the only way to go. When I did timing belt, got the kit, wires, plugs, cap, rotor, and valve cover gasket from Honda.

I think the algorythm picked up your video because a lot of people are looking at cheap civic content on youtube (see: 79thproductions). Keep posting more about this (and other civics too maybe) and you will see your views go up and up. Im in the UK and am looking at getting one of these sometime in the future but they seem to be more expensive here of course.
Happy to see that the new fuel pump did the trick and I agree about the spoiler, those look sick! Someone did a video on how to polish the headlights, you might not need to buy new ones if it's fine on the inside.
Also, your camera started being laggy since you switched it back from vertical in the last video. It might have switched to 4k or 30fps. You can pick up a Pixel 3A or iPhone 6 for about $100USD on ebay and it will up your video quality tremendously.

Lol! I work in auto finance and occasionally double as a bird dogger for a couple of wholesalers. Since I'm not a mechanic I can only make the most basic observations when purchasing a used car from either an auction or private party. There are some cars that I've learned never to deal with because they tend to be far more problematic or expensive to repair than other cars. Even though Hondas are excellent bets as new cars you have to be very careful especially down here in Miami Beach when coming across one for purchase because there's a good chance that it's been molested mechanically and electroly by a driveway ricer mechanic. One of the things I always remember was that you should check to see if the car has its factory stereo still connected because that's usually the first thing a teenager does is rip it out and replace it. However that's not always the case. Once I came across a little blue 19 96 Civic LX hatchback. The car had only 39,000 original miles and literally look like it just rolled off the showroom floor. First thing I did was check out the radio which was the original Civic cassette deck. Immediately I realized I found a diamond and purchased the car. I thought the car ran and drove really well until I went to hit the left turn signal and the wipers came on. I immediately Got a Sinking feeling in my stomach as I rolled up to a traffic light and could tell that every time I hit the brake pedal the headlights came on. After dropping it off at my friends shop my suspensions were confirmed and the car had been completely rewired and put back together half-assed in order to sell. Although it still was a good purchase for the price I paid for the car even with the additional 1,300 having a professional electrical shop go through and sort through the Frankenstein wiring harnesses it taught me a valuable lesson and whenever I see one of these I run like it's about to explode.
