Beste Zangers is a TV show from the Netherlands in which 7 singers from different musical genres are invited at Ibiza, along with a moderator. In each of the first 7 episodes, one of them is in the "central position" next to the moderator, and the others sing songs from his/her repertoire or songs with meanings for him/her. In the final episode (the 8th) they sing duets. Floor Jansen was the revelation of the 2019 edition of this TV show, finally becoming well known in her country, where the metal genre is considered underground, after a successful international career of more than 2 decades. In the last episode, she had the honor of singing with the well-known baritone Henk Poort, one of her teenage idols. Henk Poort learned to use vocal distortions for Floor - he used them both here and in his cover of "Sound Of Silence" which he performed in the episode dedicated to Floor.
Henk Poort is a famous musical and opera performer, and actually played the Phantom in the Netherland version of the show. Floor saw the musical with Henk in it when she was young, and was fangirling very hard to be able to sing with Henk. Beste Zangers (Best Singers) - A program that invites singers where they host (roast) 1 singer per episode (they then discuss the career/life/etc...and then each of them choose to perform a song for them (cover version, or something personal for the nightly person being roasted). In this incarnation of the show they had 7 people on the show and so it was 7 nights and then the 8th night was a duet), the stories and performances of all the guests are amazing (well worth watching all of them) since they all make the songs their own version...lots of tears, lots of goosebumps, just joyous, it literally brought Floor into the view of lot more people, since it was not just metal
Nightwish performed Phantom of the Opera for the first time in over 17 years two months ago at their two shows In Amsterdam, Henk Poort joined them for the song. Henk is an established stage performer, well known in the Netherlands, and has done Phantom many times, and Andrew Lloyd Weber himself said he is one of his favorites to play Eric. I was on the Nightwish show in Amsterdam Ziggodome, november. By surprise almost at the end of the show, the started with the Phantom of the Opera, and suddenly Henk Poort came on stage. The whole Ziggodome exploded 🤘🏻 Check this show Beste Zangers, Floor did several songs of all kind of genres. Even one of Lady Gaga.

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but this is from the Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers". The thing to note about this show: THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION SHOW. The premise of Beste Zangers is to take Dutch singers of different genres of music from the Netherlands (where the show is broadcast, but I believe filmed in Ibiza, Spain), get them together, get to know them and each other, and sing songs to each other that either that person wrote or performed, or has special meaning to them. In Floor's case, at this point in time, she had been with Nightwish for at least 6 years, had her own bands 3-4 years before that, and still was completely and totally unknown in her home country. This show broke her to her countrymen and women. I'd suggest going down this path and reacting to episode 1 of this show, where Henk Poort is the featured singer, and everyone gets to know him and sing to him. That was Floor's first performance on the show where she sings Vilja Lied, from the opera aria The Merry Widow. Trust me when I say you will enjoy it.

Some background on Beste Zangers 2019. This was season 12. Seven singers are invited, indeed to a resort in Ibiza (that year), Every episode one singer is at the center on the coach and all other singers sing songs either written by or having importance to that central person on the coach. It is not a competition. The last episode has the duets. Floor opened this season with Vilja Lied from Franz Lehar's Die Lustige Witwe (the merry widow). She sang that for Henk. His mother used to sing it. Floor accepted the invitation because Henk would be there. Henk is an opera/musical theater singer. As a child she had seen him do the Phantom on stage and was a fan of his since. We knew Floor and Henk would do it as a duet and we were looking forward to that duet episode where it was the last song. Then it turned out even more epic than we expected it to be. As exchange for doing the duet Henk asked to do it on stage with Nightwish, which they did last month. Henk sang Sound of Silence for Floor, using distortion for the first time in his career. You just witnessed his second time, hence the reaction by Floor. His version of Sound of Silence was based on the Disturbed version,. Check it out, it is also a good interpretation of that song. Beste Zangers made her well known here in the Netherlands. It started her solo career because we all wanted to see her sing live. Sing Meinen Song is the german version of this show and Floor joined that one this year, giving her more popularity in Germany also. You can not react to the videos of that show, they will be blocked, but check them out for yourself, Floor (and all other singers) are great.

Before doing the Beste Zangers shows on Dutch TV, Floor wasn't all that well known in her home country. Big change afterwards...with a demand for her to do solo shows in the Netherlands, with all quickly selling out. She is amazing. Her talent and versatility never fail to blow people away. To top it off, she is a genuine and nice person.

If you go to it at the start it shows all the invited singers, & it looks like it was filmed at a beautiful resort, because they run one that shows a few of them knocking on Floor’s door early in the morning on the day she is to be honored by them, bringing her breakfast or something. The show is great. Each week one singer is being honored by each of the other singers by singing to them one of their(her) songs, or something that the singer believes represents the honoree. Each week another one has their turn. That becomes the season. Henke is a Netherlands classical singer. Floor saw him as a kid in Phantom, & wanted to do this with him. He had never heard of her, being Metal. Forget who they were singing to. You might enjoy inserting one in your Nightwish viewing regularly, because everything she sings is great of course. You might enjoy “Mama” written by one of the women, & Floor sings it to her. It’s a tear jerker, she does two versions of Shallow, poor Lady G, LOL. I love the other singers too. It is a fantastic show, wish they had it in the US. Over a season, you get to spend time with some great artists.

Henk is known in the Netherlands mostly for his stage performances. He played the Phantom for quite a while, and Floor always admired him as a child.

No one knew her and she dressed up full metal for the first performance... To sing full opera for Henk and blowing everyone away with Vilja Lied. Henk agreed to this duet if he could sing this with Nightwish also. And Floor made good on her promiss. Henk performed this song with NW during the 2 Nightwish concerts in Amsterdam. First time he used it was when he performed the Disturbed version of the Sound of Silence for Floor. One of his conditions for singing this with Floor was that he also get to do it with Nightwish which as a couple of others have said has happened now. Henk is capable in this role and in the past played the role on Broadway.

She studied musical theatre, or at least had a musical theatre teacher for several years. So I assume she studied it, and it shows (maximal stage presence with minimal effort).
Henk played the Phantom in the original Dutch production and was Andrew Lloyd Webber’s favorite Phantom. On the same program, Henk sang The Sound of Silence to Floor and it was amazing…you definitely need to check that one out.
Henk performs 'Sound of Silence' on the same show 'Beste Zangers' which is great. Also on the same show he does another duet with one of the girls Emma Heesters 'Vivo Per Lei' which is lovely. As for Floor on this show, well she did one of Samantha Steenwyjk's songs to her 'Mama' which was sublime and for Henk she sung a classical piece 'Vilja Lied' - for Emma 'Shallow' and for Rolf Sanchez, 'Que se Siente' all in Spanish - quite impressive. I would suggest maybe doing a stream of the whole of Floor's episode - even though she doesn't sing on it - it was quite emotional! Take good care of yourselves 😃
Greetings. Just a short note on Henk, He played the Phantom in the Dutch adaptation of the musical from 1993 to 1996, and is known for other popular performances as well. He also happens to be one of the opera singers Floor looked up to in during her teen years and into her singing career. They finally met at this show as Henk and Floor looked forward to meeting each other there. They have been performing this song as well as others together at Floor's solo shows and recently Phantom of the Opera with Nightwish in 2 shows in Amsterdam where Henk was a surprise guest. mom is correct. It was filmed at a high end resort in Floor's home country. These other singers and most of her home country had never heard of Floor even though she is very famous around the earth. Her country fell in love with her during this show. Great reaction

Henk Poort plays the Phantom in the Dutch musical, and has been for quite some time. He has a long history in classical music. At one point you can see him looking at Floor with astonishment and amazement on his face when she's singing at the end. To impress him, you have to be damn good.

Andrew Lloyd Weber is known to have said that Henk was the best Phantom he had ever seen sing the part. And just for the record this is "Theatre" not Opera, and Floor is simply a natural at singing theatrical styles as well as everything else.
Henk Poort also does a rendition of "Sound of Silence" based on the Disturbed cover, in the same show (Beste Zangers). It really is worth checking out, just like Floor's solo rendition of "Shallow".

Phantom of the Opera musical in 1986 with Sarah Brightman blew me away. That was and still is my favorite musical, but for me, this performance here has moved into the top spot of anyone whoever performed this duet. This video is just stunning and enjoyable to watch and repeat watching. I knew you would enjoy it immensely.

This song is fun as it is the Nightwish version hence the more metal sound and with a real Phantom in Henk. It also would have been incredible to be in that intimate audience 😁it was pouring rain when they were recording this episode in Spain so the thunder is not an effect but actual thunder! The whole setting from the "Beste Zangers" show made this performance also so good. I just saw somebody else reacting to a recording from a show where Floor performed it with Henk in a "normal" concert recently, and that by far didn't had the same magic than this one has. Beste Zangers is a TV show from the Netherlands in which 7 singers from different musical genres are invited at Ibiza, along with a moderator. In each of the first 7 episodes, one of them is in the "central position" next to the moderator, and the others sing songs from his/her repertoire or songs with meanings for him/her. In the final episode (the 8th) they sing duets.
Floor Jansen was the revelation of the 2019 edition of this TV show, finally becoming well known in her country, where the metal genre is considered underground, after a successful international career of more than 2 decades. In the last episode, she had the honor of singing with the well-known baritone Henk Poort, one of her teenage idols. Henk Poort learned to use vocal distortions for Floor - he used them both here and in his cover of "Sound Of Silence" which he performed in the episode dedicated to Floor.

Henk Poort is a famous musical and opera performer, and actually played the Phantom in the Netherland version of the show. Floor saw the musical with Henk in it when she was young, and was fangirling very hard to be able to sing with Henk. Henk agreed to do this duet with Floor if he could do it at a Nightwish concert when they came to the Netherlands. Beste Zangers (Best Singers) - A program that invites singers where they host (roast) 1 singer per episode (they then discuss the career/life/etc...and then each of them choose to perform a song for them (cover version, or something personal for the nightly person being roasted). In this incarnation of the show they had 7 people on the show and so it was 7 nights and then the 8th night was a duet), the stories and performances of all the guests are amazing (well worth watching all of them) since they all make the songs their own version...lots of tears, lots of goosebumps, just joyous, it literally brought Floor into the view of lot more people, since it was not just metal
Nightwish performed Phantom of the Opera for the first time in over 17 years two months ago at their two shows In Amsterdam, Henk Poort joined them for the song. Henk is an established stage performer, well known in the Netherlands, and has done Phantom many times, and Andrew Lloyd Weber himself said he is one of his favorites to play Eric. He and Floor have established a good friendship from this tv show. You two are wonderful. Keep exploring Nightwish and Floor!

By surprise almost at the end of the show, the started with the Phantom of the Opera, and suddenly Henk Poort came on stage.

10:55 The guy is Rolf Sanchez. Half Dominican/half Dutch and he is a Salsa singer. Had a huge hit in Latin America with 'Qué se Siente', a song that Floor sings perfectly in the same show. I don't know if anyone has posted this yet, but this is from the Dutch TV show "Beste Zangers". The thing to note about this show: THIS IS NOT A COMPETITION SHOW. The premise of Beste Zangers is to take Dutch singers of different genres of music from the Netherlands (where the show is broadcast, but I believe filmed in Ibiza, Spain), get them together, get to know them and each other, and sing songs to each other that either that person wrote or performed, or has special meaning to them. In Floor's case, at this point in time, she had been with Nightwish for at least 6 years, had her own bands 3-4 years before that, and still was completely and totally unknown in her home country. This show broke her to her countrymen and women.
I'd suggest going down this path and reacting to episode 1 of this show, where Henk Poort is the featured singer, and everyone gets to know him and sing to him. That was Floor's first performance on the show where she sings Vilja Lied, from the opera aria The Merry Widow. Trust me when I say you will enjoy it.

Some background on Beste Zangers 2019. This was season 12. Seven singers are invited, indeed to a resort in Ibiza (that year), Every episode one singer is at the center on the coach and all other singers sing songs either written by or having importance to that central person on the coach. It is not a competition. The last episode has the duets. Floor opened this season with Vilja Lied from Franz Lehar's Die Lustige Witwe (the merry widow). She sang that for Henk. His mother used to sing it.
Floor accepted the invitation because Henk would be there. Henk is an opera/musical theater singer. As a child she had seen him do the Phantom on stage and was a fan of his since. We knew Floor and Henk would do it as a duet and we were looking forward to that duet episode where it was the last song. Then it turned out even more epic than we expected it to be. As exchange for doing the duet Henk asked to do it on stage with Nightwish, which they did last month.
Henk sang Sound of Silence for Floor, using distortion for the first time in his career. You just witnessed his second time, hence the reaction by Floor. His version of Sound of Silence was based on the Disturbed version,. Check it out, it is also a good interpretation of that song.
Beste Zangers made her well known here in the Netherlands. It started her solo career because we all wanted to see her sing live. Sing Meinen Song is the german version of this show and Floor joined that one this year, giving her more popularity in Germany also. You can not react to the videos of that show, they will be blocked, but check them out for yourself, Floor (and all other singers) are great.

Before doing the Beste Zangers shows on Dutch TV, Floor wasn't all that well known in her home country. Big change afterwards...with a demand for her to do solo shows in the Netherlands, with all quickly selling out. She is amazing. Her talent and versatility never fail to blow people away. To top it off, she is a genuine and nice person.

Ding, ding DING..... the WINNER! This was from the TV show Beste Zangers 2019, in the Netherlands, where Floor, & the other singers are from. If you go to it at the start it shows all the invited singers, & it looks like it was filmed at a beautiful resort, because they run one that shows a few of them knocking on Floor’s door early in the morning on the day she is to be honored by them, bringing her breakfast or something. The show is great. Each week one singer is being honored by each of the other singers by singing to them one of their(her) songs, or something that the singer believes represents the honoree. Each week another one has their turn. That becomes the season. Henke is a Netherlands classical singer. Floor saw him as a kid in Phantom, & wanted to do this with him. He had never heard of her, being Metal. Forget who they were singing to. You might enjoy inserting one in your Nightwish viewing regularly, because everything she sings is great of course. You might enjoy “Mama” written by one of the women, & Floor sings it to her. It’s a tear jerker, she does two versions of Shallow, poor Lady G, LOL. I love the other singers too. It is a fantastic show, wish they had it in the US. Over a season, you get to spend time with some great artists.

The TV show "Beste Zangers" can be translated in two ways: Best singers, and dear singers. It is NOT a competition. All participants must come alone to a holiday resort (in this case at Ibiza). No family, no managers, just the participants. Stay for 10 days to bond with each other and record the shows. No one knew her and she dressed up full metal for the first performance... To sing full opera for Henk and blowing everyone away with Vilja Lied. Henk agreed to this duet if he could sing this with Nightwish also. And Floor made good on her promiss. Henk performed this song with NW during the 2 Nightwish concerts in Amsterdam. Thank you for this great reaction. Henk Poort was the Dutch Phantom. He is a classical trained singer and had to learn to sing with distortion (the growl in his voice) for this show. First time he used it was when he performed the Disturbed version of the Sound of Silence for Floor.
After Beste Zangers Floor and Henk did two other duets that you might listen to: Sweet Curse from Floor and Dangerous Game from the Jekyll and Hyde musical
One of his conditions for singing this with Floor was that he also get to do it with Nightwish which as a couple of others have said has happened now. Henk is capable in this role and in the past played the role on Broadway.

This is an incredible show where 7 different vocalist honor each other with performances of each others songs. Henk was the Phantom in the Dutch production in his earlier years. They also do duettes and Floor only wanted to be part of this show if she could sing The Phantom with Henk Poort ( the Dutch Phantom) Henk is one of Floor's childhood idols. They killed it together and a wish came true for Floor. Henk had never heared of Floor Jansen before this show. 😀 because she was more famous abroad than in the Netherlands. Because of this show almost every Dutchie knows about their own Dutch/Finnisch star

She studied musical theatre, or at least had a musical theatre teacher for several years. So I assume she studied it, and it shows (maximal stage presence with minimal effort).

Henk played the Phantom in the original Dutch production and was Andrew Lloyd Webber’s favorite Phantom. On the same program, Henk sang The Sound of Silence to Floor and it was amazing…you definitely need to check that one out.

As for Floor on this show, well she did one of Samantha Steenwyjk's songs to her 'Mama' which was sublime and for Henk she sung a classical piece 'Vilja Lied' - for Emma 'Shallow' and for Rolf Sanchez, 'Que se Siente' all in Spanish - quite impressive. I would suggest maybe doing a stream of the whole of Floor's episode - even though she doesn't sing on it - it was quite emotional! Take good care of yourselves 😃

Just a short note on Henk,
He played the Phantom in the Dutch adaptation of the musical from 1993 to 1996, and is known for other popular performances as well.
He also happens to be one of the opera singers Floor looked up to in during her teen years and into her singing career. They finally met at this show as Henk and Floor looked forward to meeting each other there.
They have been performing this song as well as others together at Floor's solo shows and recently Phantom of the Opera with Nightwish in 2 shows in Amsterdam where Henk was a surprise guest.

Henk Poort plays the Phantom in the Dutch musical, and has been for quite some time. He has a long history in classical music. At one point you can see him looking at Floor with astonishment and amazement on his face when she's singing at the end. To impress him, you have to be damn good.

Andrew Lloyd Weber is known to have said that Henk was the best Phantom he had ever seen sing the part. And just for the record this is "Theatre" not Opera, and Floor is simply a natural at singing theatrical styles as well as everything else.
Henk Poort also does a rendition of "Sound of Silence" based on the Disturbed cover, in the same show (Beste Zangers). It really is worth checking out, just like Floor's solo rendition of "Shallow".

Phantom of the Opera musical in 1986 with Sarah Brightman blew me away. That was and still is my favorite musical, but for me, this performance here has moved into the top spot of anyone whoever performed this duet. This video is just stunning and enjoyable to watch and repeat watching. I knew you would enjoy it immensely.

This song is fun as it is the Nightwish version hence the more metal sound and with a real Phantom in Henk. It also would have been incredible to be in that intimate audience 😁it was pouring rain when they were recording this episode in Spain so the thunder is not an effect but actual thunder! The whole setting from the "Beste Zangers" show made this performance also so good. I just saw somebody else reacting to a recording from a show where Floor performed it with Henk in a "normal" concert recently, and that by far didn't had the same magic than this one has.

Well, well, well...Henk Poort, a perfect phantom...he should be.
Henk Poort is a Dutch singer born in 1956. Poort's major roles include Erik (the Phantom) in the Dutch version of The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in the first staging of the Dutch version of Les Misérables in the late 1990s. He also sang as one of the "17 Valjeans" at Les Misérables: The Dream Cast in Concert. His most recent role was Tevye in Anatevka.

About this show:
Beste Zangers, formerly De beste zangers van Nederland (English: The Best Singers (of the Netherlands)), is a Dutch reality television show.
In each series a number of well-known performers take turns as the central artist in the hot seat that gets honored by the other artists by singing songs that are of significance to that person. It can be a cover of one of his/her own songs, a song that inspires the artist in the hot seat or something from his/her past. In earlier seasons, the central artist decided who had to sing which song, while in later seasons the artists could pick one from a list themselves. The artist in the hot seat ranks the performances and picks a favorite performance, which results in that person being the winner of the episode. The first six seasons also have a final episode where they discuss and vote on their favorites. Later the voting became less important and they stopped doing this. In season 10 they introduced a final episode where the artists sing duets.
