I enjoyed staying in Huatulco and hope to return. I usually stay in Puerto Vallarta. We plan to move there more permanently. I knew P.V. when it was just a small village, so Huatulco will grow and offer more infrastructure before too long - and it's cheaper, too. The roads are excellent in Huatulco and P.V. gets very crowded during high season, but I enjoy expats around, too, so it's multi-cultural and P.V. is very encouraging - certainly, I feel very at home in P.V. and especially the Romantic Zone. Heck, I'll need a place ideal for the dogs, too - our one dog is from P.V. and was a street dog, but she's the BEST dog ever - we treasure her!!!!

@@kimhicks4781 Sorry had to do 2 parts. Electric is about 300, pesos every 2 months, DOLLARS about 15 dls a month. Water monthly about 250 pesos about 12 dls. Food HIGHER in some stores than others. Rent, 3 br 2/ baths can vary depending on location. Living is easy. People are respectful. 👋.
@ Michael T. A lot of people in San Diego. Live in Mexico because it is getting unsustainable in the US especially San Diego. It would be a lot more expensive for you if you hadn't built your own house. They are building a lot of highrise apts right at the border. For a small 2 bed 2 bathe about three years ago in a new build they wanted 150K to buy. They probably want a lot more now. This inflation is bad everywhere.. I heard people can cross the border from Mexico and a van will pick them up and take them to Thornton Hospital in La Jolla or their hospital near the Zoo on University.. You must have had a lot of rain this year as well of the US.
Thank you for your wonderful video. Very informative and very helpful. You cover so many important topics, from health care to safety to speaking Spanish. I flew out of the USA 5 days before the lockdown started and I've been in Latin America ever since (4 countries) looking for a nice spot to enjoy my retirement. In about 2 weeks, I'm flying into Guadalajara, Mexico -- my first trip to Mexico. Because of your great video, I hope to visit the Puerto Vallarta area.
We looked in La Cruz but could not find a home that spoke to us. We ended up finding the perfect place in Bucerias but go to La Cruz often and we often put our boat in the harbor there for a week or two at a time. I too thought Nuevo was way too much like "Florida" but I do ride my bike there four or five times per week because it has the best roads in the area. I can see why some people are attracted to being there.
LaCruz de Huana cas- lay is how it is pronounced , hope you were ok during the hurricane .You also have the best local farmers market at the Marina opens in Nov. Lots of local organic products .
I'm currently in Chapala and am moving to Ajijic to start up my business. Thank you for giving a lovely tour of Banderos. When I first got to Mexico I spent a week in Huatulco. Very beautiful. Yes you need a community if you are not on vacation. Congrats on your move and smart decision making.

We took a vacation to Huatulco a couple years ago. Long trip from the Midwest but we liked it there. Its built as a vacation spot. Puerto Vallarta was one of our favorites. For such a big city it sure seemed like smaller town.
You learned the key to Mexicans heart. Any kindness to their Children is so appreciated. I bought Ice cream to for the Children in my Aunts neighborhood and all of a sudden I was invited to their home for coffee and warm tortillas lol. I remember their kids on Christmasd a coloring book and crayons,Jack's and yoyos ,a girl's purse or a Tshirt for boys. They aren't asking for a handout it just in their friendly nature to be grateful and considering. You still see kids playing rag and ball outside. But slowly but shurly as more modren things like phone and the internet is integrated into Mexican youth I see less and less of the simple pleasures going to the wastside for technology. Kind of sad.

Very encouraging. The monthly income requirement for Mexico keeps going up. I’m wondering how long they let people keep coming back under the temp or tourist route until one’s social security might kick in.
It’s kind of hit or miss whether they will deny you entry if you come to México as a tourist too many times That’s why residency exists and that’s why we recommend applying while you qualify 😀

I can see myself living 3 months a year in Mexico during the winter. I love the beach towns but the summer heat can be brutal and it wears on you after a week or two.
We have been renting a condo in Puerto Vallarta from Nov to end of April for the past 6 years from an American couple who are teachers and want to spend the summer in PV and love the heat. They give us a break on the price, but we go back to Toronto during American March school break for a week to visit family, and they use the condo for a mini holiday during that week. We keep the place spotless, and it works out great.
Hi 😊 we have been to Hautulco and loved it but not 100% sure where we will move in 2023 when we retire...I did love that cabs were extremely inexpensive in Huatulco and they were set prices and they were everywhere. So many places are charging high fares now to go 10-15 min away...how is it where you are?? (we may not buy a car for 1st year after moving) thanks!
Las fiestas patronales, son el Corazon de Mexico, every pueblo, rancho, citiy, city district, barrio, no matter how small or how big, has a novenario /feast to celebrate it protector Patron Saint, which can be any saint in the bible lol. The biggest of them all is Our Lady of Guadalupe Dec the 12th .. the rockets and the bells in the morning are to call people a las mañanitas. (morning serenade for the patron saint at the church).. I have been 38 years in the USA. I miss those feasts so much..I will go back in one year, finally reitrement has arrived for me..greetings to Pablo and Susana..

Thank you for replying. Do you work in the San Diego area
My husband passed in 2020. If I do this, Id be coming alone. Its a bit scary, but I want to come to Mexico.
I am so sorry for your loss. You will find there are a lot of single women in Mexico so making friends won't be hard!
Glad to have people like you in our country!😊
Ajijic and Chapala for people on a budget but close to Ajijic is very popular with Americans with it's beautiful lake and moderate climate.
@@kimhicks4781 Lots of Canadians here too! Yes, it is beautiful and sure beats the cold of winter up north!
I just love you guys! I'm coming down in January with my little dog. I want to explore and find a place to live. Also have my permanent residency (half of it). Hope to connect for a beer and play for the pups.
I’m sure they would love for your pups to meet
Thank you for loving my Mexico. Love ya from Houston, Texas
Thank you all for the love on this video. I’ll share it with Sue and Paul 😀

Nice Huichol piece you have, been in the Bay of Banderas for 33 years still love it also .
Love your story! Felicidades! Your lives sound so similar to ours. We are in La Paz BCS and so enjoying the slow pace of our lives doing nothing here. Yet our days are full, and sometimes busy. Life in paradise couldn't be better!
That is awesome!
Thank you Pablo and Susana for giving me a peek into your lives in your new environment.
I am from Southern California.
Once again, thank you, Mari. My only fear now is that I will die before my 9 year old granddaughter finally rejects us for being old people. I am waiting for her to get tired of us so that I can explore Mexico with no guilt feelings. 😊
awe- that's cute. I'm sure she will never get tired of you. Bring her with you!
The first thing she said is because the food is better lol I’m in Cancun right now the food is great I love Mexico also very proud of you two enjoy it both of you deserve it
Waooo exelente conversación, me atraparon desde el primer minuto y no dejé de ver el video asta el final, el beso fué épico 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 personas así son bien recibidas en cualquier parte del mundo 😊😊😊
WELCOME TO MEXICO!!

Such a sweet couple. Thanks for the interview.
They’re couple goals for sure 😍
Thank you for watching
Thanks for the honesty. Other videos I have watched have not included this information so thank you.
Thanks for joining us
Very encouraging. The monthly income requirement for Mexico keeps going up. I’m wondering how long they let people keep coming back under the temp or tourist route until one’s social security might kick in.
It’s kind of hit or miss whether they will deny you entry if you come to México as a tourist too many times
That’s why residency exists and that’s why we recommend applying while you qualify 😀
Irving TX here... I'm so happy for you and your wonderful decision!!! Jealous in fact! My husband is Mexican and I so wish we could retire in Mexico... maybe one day.
Loved this video! Very informative. Thank you.

Let me wish the best for you, enjoy the community where you live now, also my advice is to go on vacation & enjoy other beautiful states in México, welcome to our country your second home.

We sure miss you two!... Hopefully, we'll get down THERE to visit!.
Jim, we have plenty of space. Come on down.
That marble story is so glorious, right on bother!
Awesome informative video thank you so much for taking the time to educate so many.
Lovely story and lovely couple, welcome to Mexico.
We agree!
Great video. Always love to hear other peoples experience in Mexico. Make sure to check out the local Black Forest Restaurant for great Schnitzel 🤤. Greetings from Punta de Mita and/or Canada.🤗
Thanks for the suggestion
I can see myself living 3 months a year in Mexico during the winter. I love the beach towns but the summer heat can be brutal and it wears on you after a week or two.
We have been renting a condo in Puerto Vallarta from Nov to end of April for the past 6 years from an American couple who are teachers and want to spend the summer in PV and love the heat. They give us a break on the price, but we go back to Toronto during American March school break for a week to visit family, and they use the condo for a mini holiday during that week. We keep the place spotless, and it works out great.
Congratulations 🎊 and great information, keep living and loving and spreading kindness.
Thanks Brian
Delightful folk and so accepting. Nan from Australia
Thanks Nan
If I had the sound off I would be able to see that they love PV because they are smiling all of the time.
you're right about that! they love their lives in Mexico
Love this video. You guys are professionals.
~from San Antonio, TEXAS~
Thanks for watching 😌
I'd love to see a compare & contrast between Mazatlan and PV (& surroundings like Punta Mita/Sayulita).
Lovely interview.I'd love to see more interviews/information about this area (Bucerias/la Cruz/etc.)
Wow very inspiring and heart felt. Now I want to come.
You should! You can! 😊
What a great video!!!
Thanks Mariana, once again good info can totally hang out with Sue and Paul…..
They are our new private tour guides in Bucerias and Nuevo Vallarta
Por ahí dicen que la cantidad de cuetes que avientan es directamente proporcional a la ignorancia del pueblo y inversamente proporcional a la conciencia por los demás de los que avientan los cuetes jajaja.
Thank you Paul and Sue for sharing your experience relocating from TX to Huatulco Mexico! I’m looking into moving to Mexico. Could you please inform me how much your rent is? And does your landlord have other properties for rent?
They pay on the higher end of rentals in the area. Their rent is $40,000 MXN. There are rentals in all budgets though. If you'd like our recommended rental agents check our our COMPLETE Mexico Relocation Guide

Somebody asked him “ do you feel safe in Mexico ?”. Here in Tennessee a young man drove around and just randomly shooting people killed at least 5. Which country is safer do you think? 🤔
Sadly the USA only reports on Mexico being very dangerous. But they don't really look in a mirror.
Excellent video...one of your best, Mariana! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
