This might be the best episode to date. You captured the feel of frustration, and then showed how to turn that energy in to something really great! My favorite line: "Luckily we had an answer for everything" as if luck had anything at all to do with the amount of preparation you guys did. Fantastic job. This episode drew the sharpest contrast between amateur and professional design.
Learning a lot of how to sell a product, but also learn how to present it. Really useful series. Thank you so much for investing hours of work on everything, and thank you filmmakers and editors to letting us the viewers watch the episode.
I work at a small agency that I've helped build from the ground up. I came into design and branding without any formal training or experience in any other agency, and it's been the same for the founder and most of the people we've hired. We've grown a lot in the last few years, but it's been an uphill battle figuring out what the hell we're doing. I've got to say this series has been the most insightful, eye-opening and helpful thing that I have ever come across. RUclips and online learning are great for small individual aspects and personal growth, but I've always struggled in finding support on how to run a team. Seeing a full insight into a project, how the team works, how Ben and Matt direct the team and manage the client... I can't explain how helpful this has been. Thank you so, so much.
Hey, so I am in the process of beginning mine from scratch. And like you guys starting without any experience except RUclips knowledge. Any tips for a newbie?
I've said this before, but the absolute *best* part is that you're not shying away from showing the "sticky" parts of the process. This obviously isn't a client with a massive budget, unlimited time, and totally just willing to go along with whatever you are putting forth... It makes my palms sweat ('cause I've been there many times myself!) to watch y'all go through the push/pull of getting it to the finish line... but most of the time that is REAL LIFE as a creative professional! I think the solution the team came up with was great, and even the process of telling the story of how you arrived at the final mark back to the client using their own words and imagery in order to have them fall in love with it feels true to what (I think) a lot of us experience with our own clients. Thanks, as always!
Matt and Ben’s explanation of their concerns, and how they intend to tackle them, are incredibly insightful, and are just as informative as they whole iterative design process. What an absolutely superb series.
I want you guys to know that this channel stands unparalleled when we talk about a finding a voice which can reflect back on some of what us designers go through on a day to day basis. The most important part is to kinda get these invaluable hints about the troublesome areas that us designers struggle with, with no clear answer how to tackled those poin points and these elaborate videos you post address those very pain points. I just want to let you guys know that I really appreciate you folks putting in so much effort into these episodes. Keep up the good work. Cheers
This series is the best show I've ever seen in RUclips. I have learned so much and really enjoyed the whole process. The profesional editing, the music, the comments, it's so amazing. I thank the day I found The Futur.
I have to admit that in the past whenever some clients have sent me their drawings for a logo I have not taken that very well. It feels like a sword piercing through my gut. Luckily I'm a fairly composed person who doesn't externalize anger but I've been in situations when that lead me to become a human mouse and that turned into bitterness and it ended up showing in the final results. Hats off to you guys for showing designers how to handle it.
@@hyacinthdibley2420 Recently I've just been trying to use their drawings or references as a path to understand what it is that they want and if it fits with the type of audience they have. Since the project itself in most cases is not meant for me, I can't imposed my views a 100%. Specially when the client is the target audience. If they start getting into pixel micromanagement territory, I just tell them to leave that to me and they are usually cool with that. But I've laid off most of my clients.
@@Cubannerd hmmm. That's a great way to look at it actually. I'm glad you mentioned this. I have run into micromanagers, and they frustrate me. But...looking at what you've said, I know now to look at it from your point of view: use their ideas to create something. I figure the client has an idea what type of clients they have/want. Thanks for that. :)
@@hyacinthdibley2420 Np, it's a work in progress and rolling with the punches. I had the most bizarre situations miceomanagers too. I remember I was working on the php code of a website once and my boss was sitting behind me telling me that he wished he knew how to code so he could tell me what to do. I was shocked tbh. I looked and him, laughed and told him to go back to his office and leave me alone. He didn't fired me btw, but naturally, I'm no longer working at that place. Good guy but he was a micromanager.
Why? They're telling you exactly what they want. That's an easy money job. Think of yourself as the conduit for their vision. There is also artistry in being a good listener, who can get in someone's head so well they nail it outta the park. Plenty of other projects to explore your creativity.
This is the most value-packed design series on RUclips, without a doubt. Congratulations for the end outcome, I loved seeing Matthew and Ben grind through the insights and I think the comments about your presentation Ben, how you were searching for sketches for the pitch and to prove to the client that there is this only one answer actually made me smile so much because that thinking was critical to the clients happiness. I feel like I stand for everyone when I say - that the Futur is on course to becoming a phenomenal brand.
@@Takuma_Sakazaki so true people start their requirements that they cant afford our services but wanna work with us when they see we are smaller designers. and that makes it vv sad because thats like stripping your skin for 2 dollars like whaaaa you want me to do it again LOL
I totally agree that the purpose of a logo is to identify, but that doesn't mean it can't have symbols with meaning for the company (related to their history or anything else). So awesome to check this process btw. (I wish the episodes last an hour)
I dont know why, but Matt and Mr Ben burns make a sick duo. Both are professional but bring in different styles. I am sure there's an audio guy, video guy and an editor making them look good. I really hope you get inbound marketing results from this effort. Thank you so much for the series. Loving IT !
I forwarded this to my students. There's so much useful stuff in there: Design Thinking, working with clients, handling feedback / resistance / stress, teamwork and leadership, the value of design / creativity / handcraftship, UX design, .... For educators this is gold! Thank you so much for sharing.
Yesterday I presented to my client the second round for logo approval. Thankfully and gratefully, I was blown away that my client did NOT change their mind. In fact, they loved it. What a relief!
I loved the way Ben described the final version of the logo. It helped me realize the importance of giving the client a little glimpse of your own ideas. Great series guys!
I've lived this scenario with Ben and Matt so many times it's hitting real close to home. It's not that our clients have bad ideas, or even that they change their mind, it's that I think we see it as a failure of ourselves when we are unable to anticipate these occurrences. I can relate to Ben because I always to want to push for specific ideas, especially when I'm the one making them, and it can feel like we're letting ourselves down if we don't get our best work out there. I can also relate to Matt in this scenario, where he's actually been able to retain a broader view of the project and reel Ben in to focus on the client's needs. You guys are def a good team to be able to speak openly and honestly with each other to meet a common goal.
Throughout the series I just love these two bright minds working together, challenging each other in such a beautiful, creative and respectful way. Thank you guys for showing that!
Thank you for this series!! The fact that the clients wanted to go back to an original idea was so spot on. The way you all handle this frustration and moved forward with them was so good to watch. If anything, it has made the series even better as this happens so often!! Thank you all for the time invested into making this and sharing it with the community!!
Love what Ben said about documenting everything and collecting sketches along the way. So true as it adds value to this project and others. Process is key.
I think you guys set a great example on how to remove 'ego' from the process. Could have gone differently (negatively) had you not put yourself in your client's shoes. Hats off to you gents.
That was a tough one! Creative clients.... but you guys did a great job of managing the client: incorporating their feedback, making sure they felt heard and showing them how the process works. I can't wait to see how the site comes along.
This might be my favorite episode so far! You guys are really good at telling the story of the logo. I couldn't stop smiling when this was being presented. Great work guys !
He kept wanting to go back to the slide where all the logos that didn’t make it were and I was sooo scared he was going to want to take a different route! Overall such a great logo in the end. I was so happy to see it finally completed. You guys did an amazing job at making me feel invested in this!
23:50 reminds me of what singer songwriter Siedah Garrett said when she wrote "Man in the Mirror" for Micheal Jackson. When he wasn't sure of one part of the lyrics, she came back with alternate versions. All Michael had to do was choose one and the recording continued on This is series is so informative and representative of how you deal with clients and "setbacks" though the guys turned it around and used it to come up with great ideas. I could never have come up with so many variations! I'd either be burnt out or they'd get redundant
loved hearing Ben's pitch on the new icon. Story telling is truly essential when communicating thought processes. I also loved seeing the iterations Minh went through and the journey to the end product. Can't wait to see what kind of deliverables they provide. Is it a style guide, logos, fonts/icons, and a website, or are there other things?
The “moving target” problem, that indecisiveness from a client or even the moment when client draws over your design can be sooo discouraging for a young, unexperienced designer, but too relatable when it comes to designing a logo. Especially if there's a timeline or limited budget. Thank You for sharing your experience and your take on the situation!
03:55 I have been following the whole episode every week. But just wanted to write here about Matthew's understanding of apple logo. So the reason behind apple's logo is, since it's a tech company which deals with hardware and software, The memory which is calculated in bytes and the fruit apple is known for bite, the company bridged/related the sound of Byte and bite ..
it is also from the first iteration of apple's logo which is basically a complicated drawing of newton under an apple tree where he got his eureka moment of the idea of gravity. very techy.
Although, I do get all the (motivated) fuss about identity vs. explanation and the panic about the clients changing their minds at the last minute, I think it was all for the better. The H in the middle was nice and it worked fine but... on its own, as a secondary mark, in the main logo it was somehow redundant and did not serve a real purpose or communicate anything important. As a secondary logo - marvellous. In the main one, cool to look at but useless. Moreover, I think it did not reflect the heritage requirement from the initial brief and that - consciously or not - is probably what drove the Hamiltons to reconsider (along with the church's logo similarity). I'm glad they pushed you - it was a clever solution which also grabs more attention than that H.
You might be right... But keep in mind that they (Hamilton brewery) did not want a hop as the logo. And going for a house as the logo would make the brand look like a real estate company...
I love seeing how the CDs communicate to the client - something that I’ve struggled with is presenting and using the right words. This series has been great!
So I watched every episode and man it was awesome. In a way Having clients Like Josh is a Blessing and a Curse, you can see Josh knows a little about design and he's a creative person, at this same time it can be frustrating to convince people like this because they feel like they're the professional. So good Job from Matt, proving to the client that they had explored every possible combination. "Getting to that end decision, you have to prove that you've explored everything else "
You guys are totally modern heroes of design. I have never seen this type of boldness to share this experience with the viewers. I am just totally inspired by you all!
I really appreciate Ben voicing his concerns over the logo curveball openly because it shows us what the internal designer dialogue is like and the voice of reason comparison! It'll help me talk myself through any design challenges I encounter!
This episode alone and the rest of the series I have seen so far....just brought my love for design back. especially the whole process. Agencies lately especially from where I am at, focuses on time, meaning the quicker the job goes out the quicker you can work on another thus making money quicker. almost all the time the process is shortened and the creative process and conceptualising phases is rushed and that kills my love for being a designer...but when you see the outcome of spending the right amount of time planning and going through every point that is needed, man!!!! you can see it in the end product. excellent episode
Such an incredibly thoughtful execution, and I thought Ben NAILED the presentation. I agree that the story of the tree blooming out of the house was such a great visual to articulate. I really appreciate seeing the work it takes to create something powerful and meaningful. You guys put in the work. No shortcuts. Explorations are exhaustive and Minh is a humble beeeeeeeast! My apologies if I misspelled her name. Really appreciate you all. Looking to invest in the Core kit and Pro group sometime when I can better afford it, but for now, this series and your content in general, have been life-giving in many ways. Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Turning that stem into the house shape was so clever, I actually jumped in my seat shouting "GENIUS!". When Josh didn't immediately say something like "WOW you nailed it!" I too was getting anxious about the result. Which is kinda weird because I did take a sneak peek at their new website and I knew you guys figured it out. This tells me that this series is something great and valuable and also has a great arc storywise. I get ultra bored in TV series when I see, read or hear a spoiler. I got nervouse watching the video conference even though I knew the outcome. I have no idea how you guys are doing it, but please continue if possible. This needs to be the kind of content on streaming platforms, not just youtube (even though it's awesome it is here on YT). Also I feel like you guys defined the genre of "reaction videos" new for me. Don't know how that happened o.O
This serie has really helped me to see all the thoughts process and work behind the making of a logo. It was really great to see how you guys coped to face that challenge, turns out we are real problem solvers ! Amazing video
This ep makes me think a lot about how to find out the true meaning of brand and match it up to the logo. The most important thing that we should listen to the client. Actually, the client in the video has brought the logo back to the most suitable place which fit the brand. The series is so impressive. Thank you so much!
Love these episodes. Love this series. Don’t. Ever. Stop. Doing Them. Lol Thanks guys for a look inside the process of what it takes to build a brand. I would love to see a bts of how you all produced this series. Thanks again!!
The whole series is soo awesome I can't even explain it with words! Please just keep it up! This is the rarest chance for all the beginner designers to experience what it really takes to (re)design a brand. Thank you
I keep going from the show to the actual Hamilton Family Brewery website to work out the story behind the design. You guys have delievered something wonderful, that respect the client and aesthetically great. Learnt a lot and enjoying the show!
Wooooowwww!!!! The episodes keep getting better. I was holding my breath and crossing my fingers not knowing what Josh was going to say. The way you guys handled it was nothing short of professional. One of the things which I learnt was that clients want to know you spent quite a bit of time working on their assignment, cos Josh was blown away by the variation sketches presented. Thanks so much for creating this series 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
And not just time - they want to know that you care and are invested in their brand. It's a bit like dropping your kid off at school that first day - you know it's needed but it's hard to let a professional take your baby!
Showing the client all the executions that the designers worked on and went through really shows how much effort and time designers put in to create unique and balanced logo marks. You can tell he was impressed! I personally like the H mark more than the hops but they both look good! Great job guys!! I love your channel!
Another part that touched me was when Mr Ben expressed his mind and let the client know why they took the project even though the price was reduced. That part was a strong point which was tabled carefully. It was tricky and straight, the client was careful to absorb that. I like Josh feedback on that too. Matthew is absolutely fantastic, with the way he was compassioned with the client choice at some point, not being defensive. You guys killed this. I was like "Yess" when Josh finally said he likes it.
Getting to see the whole process, including the thoughts back and forth from client to Blind, and between Ben and Mathew, has been pure mind candy, so much to glean at every step! Can't wait to see the web side of things!
So true. Because the hop is more elongated it looks like an artichoke. Plus making the stem thicker by making it the house adds to the artichoke feel. I think it might have been best to explore the house as the main element since it's a family brewery and that's where it began, its history. The tree would be the next important thing with the hop being least. IMO Overall, the mark looks nice and the concept is strong but without context of the business I don't see a hop initially. You tell me it's a brewery then I make it into a hop, show me on it's own then I'm thinking it's an artichoke.
@@wanpotutu1285 Bro, I get your point but if you look at the artichoke's outer petals they are far more structured and accurate, which suites this design. Hops are far more disorganised and would have suited an asymmetrical design instead.
About feeling "disrespected" when a client tinkers with the logo... You really should grasp the fact that you're just a tool helping the client achieve a goal here, after that u will leave the picture, and the logo's left forever with its owner. Don't have an ego, let the client mess around with their logo too.
I absolutely love this series. As someone who is JUST starting professional freelance branding, i appreciate seeing the process and the ups ans downs. Thank u sm!
In my experience what I've come to realise is that the reason why getting a logo design approval from a client is such a battle is because you are delivering a concept rather than a tangible product. It deeply involves reading between the lines and extracting, decoding and formulating what they want on their behalf and then trying to deliver on that very expectation. The intensity to which this is required varies from each client. The process of logo making is also a journey of client servicing. Thanks for this guys, cheers 🍻
I loved how the final product turned out........ Also the fact that finally it was all approved and done seeing Ben and Mathew relieved of that pressure made me soo happy, being a designer its really hard to communicate your point and understanding the client's view is just not easy. I loved how it all turned out, looking back at the first concept it was good but now as a designer you feel very confident for what turns out to be the last one. I m really happy guys. Good good work 😁😁😁 Thankyou for helping us out with this series.
Loved this episode. One of the biggest take aways was that logo design philosophy doesn't have to be so rigid. So even though a logo's job is to identify, it doesn't mean that it can't have hidden meaning and still be effective. Another one is not to become so entrenched in being the expert, especially for those of us who got tired of being the order taker designer, to reversing roles and being the designer who tells the client what everything will be. Although there will be times when we can be the expert, but to know when to embrace collaboration and remember that we aren't designing for other experts and designers, but everyday people with a desire to be heard and express ideas. I knew the meaning behind the tree meant a lot to them, and that family and heritage are a big part of their identity. So I think it was dope that you guys didn't box yourselves in with logo philosophy and were flexible enough to recognize what the client wanted, and deliver based on that want and still create something clean and memorable.
oh and I don't know if that story behind the tree blooming out of the house to tie everything in was the original inspiration, but if not great job on finding a way to tie everything in. I've def been in situations where even though those connections are noticed after the design is you gotta run with it and use it as extra sauce in the presentation lol
After watching the process in most parts, I’ll say it’s a good outcome in the end - seeing Josh being happy with it and taking the branding Into his own hands and even extends it to his own likings (He has an opinion and ability!!!) In my opinion, the whole logo design decisions could have been much more effective if the creative directors would have taken Josh’s personality into account more. It was clear that he, actually both, his wife too and maybe the community where attached to the “family heritage” and thus the tree. This wasn’t discussed or seen in any of the approaches so far. Luckily in the end you guys realized.... Anyhow well done series, very personal approach and happy to see The Hamilton’s growing - and you guys too!
Thanks for being so open with your process, this series is the kind of thing design school needs to show the next gen but equally great and reassuring for experienced designers. I had butterflies when you did the final pitch!
Watched this again and I think it really helped to bring the client into the creative process and give them a window into what you were doing to tell the story and knit the elements together. Collaboration wins the day.
Another great episode!!! My favorite part is getting the glimpses of the designers works in progress and how you have been framing it by keeping the timeline clear, as someone who is still in the early stages of my career and looking to go into a consultancy it is really invaluable knowledge. I know Chris often emphasizes the importance of working fast an efficiently, but seeing explicitly what the base level looks like in practice makes the bar to clear much more understandable. Thank you very much for all your hard work and generosity.
I feel like I’m watching HGTV remodeling at home but instead it is designing or branding. I love this concept this is different, this should be picked up by a network!
Such a great series!! At 17:38 I had an almost PTS style emotional reaction to that moment of truth presentation. You guys have done such a great job of capturing that "invisible" work that goes on behind the scenes. Thanks for sharing such amazing content.
What a fantastic insight into the design process! Thanks so much for sharing the story. I love the whole exploration from start to finish and Ben and Matthew make a great duo. I like how Matthew accepts that it's part of the job for clients to come back and say: no, we're not there yet. And I feel Ben's frustration, too. You finish something and the client signs off, only to backtrack: it's annoying. It sucks. I feel like Matthew takes it as a challenge, he wants to go the distance to make sure the client is really happy. Yet I also understand Ben because they arrived at a solution that worked. Why shift gears all of a sudden? Finally, I loved the transparency from Ben: this is the real world of design, with budgets and deadlines. Including that bit about how they were stretching things was such an honest and open thing to do.
I die every time the episode ends..I want more!! I feel like its the insight a lot of designers are looking for. Just a true insight on the day to day.
ThanQ Matt and Ben for showing us your process of brainstorming ideas, and final result was awesome! Also thanQ for all editors and all futur team for all hard work they have done!
I soooo feel for you in this logo hunt, esp with time constraints. If they're back-peddling on a logo, imagine what the next phases would entail?! One thing I do with clients is ask them to send ME references/examples of what they like so that it eliminates a portion of the research. If you incorporate any kind of element that they picked out for themselves, they would feel more included in the process. I loved the original logos though, and it warms my heart to see professional agencies go through the same issues I come across. LOVE YALL
I love this series! I am especially grateful that you show honestly that you still get nervous for feedback eventhough you are already established pros! I like that you are keeping it real like that. Thanks for this!
Still a fan of the original H logo. I don't think anyone would've confused it for the church's mark. You guys KNOCKED it out of the park on the final revision and Ben deserves an Oscar with that riveting performance convincing Josh of the story he could tell behind the mark. Your team at Blind went above and beyond this time and I know the world will pay back all your efforts. God Bless and keep it up!
Yeah. The "it reminds me of" problem in design can be frustrating. At this point, everything looks or sounds like something else. I remember a huge towncenter was added to where I live and they called it "UTC." At first, people didn't like saying it because it reminded them of a "UTI." After a decade of it being a mainstay brand in our community, nobody brings up the "UTI" stuff anymore. It's just "UTC."
I think what I'm really impressed by is your ability to sell your designs. I also liked how developing the logo became apart of story you told.....and I loved how you show where you started and where you eventually ended up. Nice work!
Yeeeeyyy.... Web design next!! Can’t wait... and to answer your question at the end... YES... Love the new logo.... wow!!! Just couldn’t stop staring at it. Great advice at the end as well about being able to justify why things were done the way it was done... Just wondering ... where does one go to get resources as found at 18:25... wow.
This series came at the exact same time i landed one of my biggest branding projects and it's been of great help to me and my team. Thank you guys for sharing this!
Hey guys! I love the attitude Matthew came up with while crossing the hurdle of coming up with those 3 things! Great optimism with Ben's practicality induldged in between! I was like mann...this is how we all shall address the clients! Amazing guys... And that story by Ben..it was the 'nailed it' moment yaa! Haha... Just one request, please continue this series... Please come up with second season! 😬😁
I really love how you guys have figured out the logo transforming it into a house + hop. I think the logo, in oppose to the monogram, fits much better in the overall circular shape. Great work, and I loved watching the series ! Thanks for sharing this
Loving it! More than anything because it shows me clients will be clients, no matter who they are and how much they pay, they have expectations and rightly so, it's their company. And, the thing I'm learning the hard way, is the less you charge, the more they feel they should control the outcome and process (because they don't VALUE you). I loved that you guys showed the dialog and brainstorming of the solution for the logo (good job! @mrbenburns). I can so deeply empathize with Ben - client not sticking to the script and jeopardizing deadlines. And, then, I wish I was more like Matthew - removing myself from a timeline and being confidently zen about finding the solution in time and letting the client know their feedback is valuable and is heard. I think you two are such a great team for your ability to dissect client feedback because of your ability to openly collaborate on the solutions. Thanks so much for sharing this incredibly well-produced series!
I wasn't totally sold on the logo but when Ben dropped the blooming comment, I was like "YES! NAILED IT!". Very keen to see how the shape of the brand unfolds now that we have a solution for the logo.

Yeah, it made me realize why i hate this job...
The teamwork, the storytelling, the calmness of Matthew. You guys truly handled this perfectly.
It all happened for better reasons! I love how Matthew handled it with grace! So positive and dedicated. 😎
Mickey Agreed! He really showed a high level of empathy and maturity. Client and creative work at its finest.
@@awayfromdamascus I would've showed a great level of empathy and maturity too if I get paid 20k for a branding LOLOLOL.
Yeah I respected that too.
(I wish the episodes last an hour)
valid point
Everyone is talking about the quality of the serie and how great it is.
And here I am, JEALOUSING AF THIS GIGANTIC WHITEBOARD.
whiteboards are life
@@thefutur I thought my 4' by 6' whiteboard looked big enough but oh god I was Blind
I dont know why, but Matt and Mr Ben burns make a sick duo. Both are professional but bring in different styles. I am sure there's an audio guy, video guy and an editor making them look good. I really hope you get inbound marketing results from this effort. Thank you so much for the series. Loving IT !
They complement each other very well, I think that's why !
I agree, they both bring different things to the team and collaborate well.
@@BlendedCreeper Maybe, just maybe it's the beard.
This is better than any show on tv.
Totally agree. Did you ever watch "The Pitch" on AMC, it's a close second!
What I took away from this : we all need a Matthew Encina in our day to day life, to fight for us with grace and gentle persuasion.
that sounds just like Matthew.
I would watch this as a tv show series. Love this whole show! So good.
He kept wanting to go back to the slide where all the logos that didn’t make it were and I was sooo scared he was going to want to take a different route! Overall such a great logo in the end. I was so happy to see it finally completed. You guys did an amazing job at making me feel invested in this!
14:38 The power of "what if..." in the creative process. Incredible.
23:50 reminds me of what singer songwriter Siedah Garrett said when she wrote "Man in the Mirror" for Micheal Jackson. When he wasn't sure of one part of the lyrics, she came back with alternate versions. All Michael had to do was choose one and the recording continued on
This is series is so informative and representative of how you deal with clients and "setbacks" though the guys turned it around and used it to come up with great ideas.
Omg the Apple logo is a dad pun...
it is also from the first iteration of apple's logo which is basically a complicated drawing of newton under an apple tree where he got his eureka moment of the idea of gravity. very techy.
and its biblical, I read the analysis of it as Eve biting the apple of knowledge mythology.
@@paulinanowicka7230 I find that hard to beleive lol
Well-said.
@@flowersafeheart Thanks
You might be right... But keep in mind that they (Hamilton brewery) did not want a hop as the logo. And going for a house as the logo would make the brand look like a real estate company...
I love seeing how the CDs communicate to the client - something that I’ve struggled with is presenting and using the right words. This series has been great!
What sold the logo was the story of the process. Unified logic and magic.
Great job !!
Just watched this whole series in one sitting. Great stuff. Can't wait to see more.
samee, amazinggg
I really appreciate Ben voicing his concerns over the logo curveball openly because it shows us what the internal designer dialogue is like and the voice of reason comparison! It'll help me talk myself through any design challenges I encounter!
OMG I love that you shared the way you interact with the client, for me that’s the hardest part of the process. This is so usefull, thanks!
Glad to hear
Hah, I've been resisting looking at their site. Don't want any spoilers. :D
The logo looks awesome! Great job guys, especially on Ben's story behind the logomark. Really inspirational stuff there :)
Love how this episode is a reflection of reality of designers and not just great sugarcoated fantastic client work output only.
Don’t. Ever. Stop. Doing Them. Lol
Thanks guys for a look inside the process of what it takes to build a brand. I would love to see a bts of how you all produced this series.
Thanks again!!
The whole series is soo awesome I can't even explain it with words! Please just keep it up! This is the rarest chance for all the beginner designers to experience what it really takes to (re)design a brand. Thank you
honestly, this epi got my heart pumping. I love brand design.
Mr. Ben Burns saving the daaay!! Loved your insights to the mark and the way you told the story, Ben! Nice work everyone on the team!!
Love the new Logo and enjoyed seeing client side with step by step levels. Especially the mock up with their logo in the office shown. 👍
Getting to see the whole process, including the thoughts back and forth from client to Blind, and between Ben and Mathew, has been pure mind candy, so much to glean at every step! Can't wait to see the web side of things!
Thank you
Bro, you redesigned it into an artichoke
LOL! now i can't unsee it!
True but beer enthusiasts will now what it is. Good point tho
@@wanpotutu1285 Bro, I get your point but if you look at the artichoke's outer petals they are far more structured and accurate, which suites this design. Hops are far more disorganised and would have suited an asymmetrical design instead.
hooper20088 I thought the same thing 🙈
Good good work 😁😁😁
Thankyou for helping us out with this series.
watching this series has been a rollercoaster ride. this one has so much positive vibes. congrats on nailing that logo! looks great!
This is the best & most helpful series on RUclips for designers, thank you!
This is coming to an end, I am so emotional right now! You guys have made me into an addict. Please keep pumping great content thanks :')
Absolutely love seeing how the two of you overcome differences in opinions!
Thank you for this. Digging for the client’s reasoning is the most valuable lesson for me.
Watched this again and I think it really helped to bring the client into the creative process and give them a window into what you were doing to tell the story and knit the elements together. Collaboration wins the day.
I love this series and I think is a great way to show work, time invested and Client reactions!
The final logo is incredible! you guys are awesome! being that patient isn't that easy. Love your work well done
This series is invaluable. You guys are next level.
LOVE YALL
So glad they decided to change the monogram, the final logo is awesome!
Nice work!
This is my after work entertainment and I am blessed!
TBH I love this icon more than the one futur proposed earlier. I totally understand Josh, despite what I know and understand about brand identity.
When Josh said "that's really cool" , i cried
This is becoming one of my favorite series ever.
Yeeeeyyy.... Web design next!! Can’t wait...
and to answer your question at the end... YES... Love the new logo.... wow!!! Just couldn’t stop staring at it.
Great advice at the end as well about being able to justify why things were done the way it was done...
Just wondering ... where does one go to get resources as found at 18:25... wow.
Mariyeen Acheege wow!
That’s one crazy talented bunch!
