Hey everyone! After about a year, Josh and the Hamilton team decided to redevelop their site on a different platform. If you'd like to see the site we built for them, you can find it by going to hamilton.buildingabrandshow.com
There were many reasons for the switch, but mainly, Josh & his management team needed to update the website using an iPad, which unfortunately isn't possible using Webflow at this time. Thanks again for all the support you've given us since this originally aired - it was a WILD ride learning a new platform and putting everything together. Side note, we've gained a ton of experience with Webflow since this project, and we're still HUGE fans of the platform.
Found out about a month ago. At first I thought Hamilton had maybe terminated their account with Blind but coming back here to see this comment confirms the website redesign was done by you guys. The new website is built on Squarespace.
*I feel like i'm getting that design internship I really needed, but never got, and now regret.* I really appreciate you guys sharing this. I have learnt a lot.
I cannot think of what to say about this series that has not been said already, but I'll do it anyway! This series is unlike anything else, in a great way. Essentially, you've demystified the process of building a brand from beginning to end. This is as close as we'll ever get to being a fly on the wall. Thank you guys!
I love the way you guys treat your designers and employees too - I've never worked in a team or agency, but I can imagine so many project leads would take credit without acknowledging the designer behind the scenes. Plus, when you crit the websites, logo designs etc, before you present to the client, you are always so polite and respectful of work you don't even like that much, or think won't work. Kudos.
Help us keep this show going! If you've valued this series at all, do us a favor and show your support. Share your favorite episode with a friend, or your community. Getting traction for this show helps us do MORE of this for YOU. Thank you.
Hi guys! I love your work. Have you ever seen how a bartender slides a beer through the bar? Why don´t do something like that using the scroll? or do you think that it would be a homepage to large?
Great work as always. I love getting this insight into a design studio. I'm in the mobile gaming space and we face similar challenges. I've already started implementing some of your methods into my process and how I interact with my team. Thank you so much for this!
👉 Check out the bonus episode Ben put together, where he shares his insights and top tips for building the website for Hamilton Family Brewery: ruclips.net/video/8FMb2DETdgw/видео.html
Disclaimer first: I'm a web developer and also love design. I don't know how much this video shows the full picture of the process. I just have a few points I would like to talk about the design process here. The end result is beautiful and the designer really did a fantastic job - Mobile first design: I'm just curious why the website was not designed in a mobile-first approach? Looking at the soccer mum. She will have no time to find a desktop and sit down. She is sitting somewhere in a car driving the kids to the game. So she just has a mobile phone with her. - Hover effects: This comes back to the first point. Have you ever tried to hover on a mobile phone? It is not possible. You have tap here but this is for the user always strange because on the desktop a single click is an action to open a link. Here it is to flip a card. I checked it on my phone and the hover effects are gone! Nice work here - Video Header: Mhh looks fancy but does it really add to the user experience some value? When you have a slow connection you will not even see the video because you already scrolled down but still the video is loading so you are just eating the user's bandwidth. Again good work here the video does not load if you are on mobile! - On mobile the navigation the sticky navigation bar does not get red sometimes and the menu is not aligned correctly anymore. Checked this on Android with chrome, chrome beta and firefox. - If you go to a specific beer on mobile and the beer has a white background. You can not see the `X` anymore on the top left. - Some things are not aligned in the vertical space and other small alignment problems on mobile. I don't know if these are limitations on the web flow side. Never worked with it. I don't want to be negative I just want to see this brewery to make it big because they look like really amazing people.
that's why you build a mobile app instead of a mobile website it is really a hassle also you can toggle the desktop site for the mobile phone its no big deal but if you are picky about it just get add some media queires and some bootstrap and you will be ready to go
Eh, I kind of agree with most of your points. These things are not happening due to limitations on the Webflow side. They're mostly happening because of the lack of development knowledge and experience.
Webflow is just a tool. Like a generator almost. What you would do is build it visually over there and it would spit out custom php or css or whatever you need. Then you’d add that to your wp site. I literally had to do this with my lady company because I don’t know php. Your points are valid.
@@Chloeeezyyy It does not spit out PHP. That sounds frightening. Lol. It spits out clean and semantic HTML, CSS, and possibly JS. Sure, you could export this code and chop it up to create a custom theme in whatever CMS. However, that's far from an ideal workflow for most sites, especially if you don't have development experience. Which is one reason why Webflow integrated CMS functionality. Webflow needs to be careful with marketing this as an "anyone can do it" website builder. It's most ideal for those who have development experience or both development and design experience. It's ideal for learning front end development concepts for beginners, building smaller websites for businesses, and tinkering in general.
The way you guys not only design their brand but give them insight on how their website can generate revenue now and in the future is endearing. Amazing!!
This type of content is what so many people are hungry for. I enjoy every video that comes out, but THESE deep dives into the process as whole are my absolute favorite. 💯 👍🏼 - Noelle
I really enjoy watching the clients not being able to come up with questions about the handoff because of how thrilled they were about their website. I think that alone is something most designers dream upon. Great work!
As a business owner and a craft business enthusiast here in the UK I loved this series. After running my business for over 13 years I’ve recently felt like I was just going though the motions and lost my zeal for my business but after watching this I’ve felt more enthusiastic about refreshing everything. Thank you for getting me out of my rut. 👍🏼
Omg. I cannot believe the amount of knowledge I gain from The Futur. This goes beyond education and business, you're mentors and friends to me. I know from personal interactions with you on social media that you're all sweet and kind souls. Love your mission, content, and spirit. x
I love that you're bring Webflow in to this. I've been a user and advocate for about a year and it's been a game changer for me. Brought in an extra 12k in website projects I normally would've passed on and it's only July.

Ben, we have been telling you to use Webflow on livestreams for 2 years now. Glad you finally committed. No going back now. I love using it for quick interactions and prototypes to show developers.
Currently at college studying graphic design and I have been watching this series closely, I was trying to pin down what direction I wanted to go in within the industry and this is what I want to achieve one day. Thank you for showing the hard work and thought processes behind the scenes and explaining elements in-depth, fingers crossed I can find a placement in a design studio and gain on the job experience within this side of the industry too before I head to university. Is there any advice you'd offer to students?
I would love to see a continuation of this series! Like one completely from the ground up, not a rebrand. This was so helpful in so many ways for me so thank you 😊
I'm seeing comments saying that this episode and the client website were too simple in design and strategy. But for where the client is in their business, it doesn't seem like they need anything more than a basic easy to update website at the moment. I appreciate showing in this video that there are parts or brand design that might not be super glamouroys or require a lot of extra time and attention. Especially if the focus of the redesign (and client budget) doesn't require it.
This series is absolutely amazing. I am a digital creative breaking into this space and having the opportunity to have mini-documentaries showing your practices has been absolutely eye opening. Thank you so much!
Loved the latest episode. When I train clients in how to use the back end of wordpress websites I use a video and audio capture of the screen (uploaded to youtube unlisted) so they have a permanent record of it that they can go back to and remind themselves how to do certain things.
Been a fan of Chris Do and the Futur for a few years now. We need more of this. I love seeing the parallels in thought process and implementation within my own brand. Its really amazing...Keep up the great work and i'll keep watching
This series is so fire ! I am so grateful to see the process and it helps to see what goes on behind the scenes and how to speak with clients, etc. this is just great thanks for putting in the work and making this material. Bless you!
These guys are genius, they turned their job into a profitable internet show that promotes their own business and the business of their client and even managed to slip a webflow promotion in there too
Hey guys I've been following this series and ton of other videos on this channel from the playlist and I'm loving it. This series is giving the insights of how to deliver a project smoothly and swiftly. I hope to see more of this...Thankyou for making these videos...This channel is exactly what I was looking for ..
I mean, guys com'on, literally the best content, best series on youtube, the best knowledge for people interested in design. From the bottom of my heart, thank you ! ❤️❤️❤️
This was DOPE! Mosdef keep em coming! I'm a Media Design MFA student, so videos like this, where ppl in the field actually show their process, helps me gain a better grasp of the concepts and processes. Great video!
After seeing this episode, I couldn't resist taking a look at their website and it was WOW! MINDBLOWN! You guys are so creative and talented. It's amazing that you've come up with so much refreshing and ingenious ideas. I hope I could soon acquire more skills like this. Just. WOW.
Another amazing video guys. Can't thank you enough! The behind-the-scene insights are priceless. Thank you and of course, sensational work from the entire team! Also for anyone looking, the wireframe designs were created in Sketch.
I LOOOOVE Josh's face of amazement when he was able to work the website on his own. When you get to and over a client THAT feeling, man. You win. LOL! Good job guys. GGWP!
The series has been absolutely something I've been wanting since the beginning! The curiosity to know and experience the actual work process you guys put through! Absolutely amazing 😃 I've been off for more than a year and watching this has already got me to feel like I'm good to reboot my process again confidently :)
In a scripted show, there would have been a single turning point where the project is saved by the protagonists' brilliant idea. Here, it was a series of two steps forward, one step back. The heroism was that the team kept pushing forward. I like this kind of story much better. I don't even watch sports live. But, for this, I set a timer and tune in right away. Thanks for doing this.
Guys the QUALITY of this content is something I can't even believe exists FOR FREE. Of course there are options for us to subscribe with payments but the sole fact of you guys doing this on RUclips where anywhere can access it is a gift to the world. It is very inspiring to see you guys working as a team and it really gives me more passion for what I already do. I am a better designer because of you - I wanna be like you someday (insert crying emoji). Big love and respect!!!
Yes!! Loved this series. There are literally hundreds of comments and I didn't have time to go through them all but please point me to your answers if you've already addressed these questions: Did the client change their mind about the logo after you started developing the site? Is that why you were so stressed? What had you already designed when they changed their mind? Since the handover have the clients had any problems with using webflow? What other problems have arisen concerning usability? I can see that you talk about correctong issues with mobile bugs - what were they and were they easy to fix?
This is really awesome guys! Love to see the whole process and the clients' faces when you did the presentation was pure joy. Please don't stop producing videos like this.
So much incredible insights crammed into 23 minutes! I felt like this was an hour-long video. Been developing with Webflow since 2014 and I can't recommend it enough.
This guys kill this web dev stage and web designers are awesome both options. Kudos to this two guys for the furnishing, creating web site looks easy but in reality lots of experience and ideas made it look easy for them. This vid made my day i need to go back my desk and finish my project site. Definitely Satisfied!
This by far is my favourite episode! I've looked at the site itself and it's amazing, I love how the colours and typography have been incorporated throughout from the stylescape. I can't wait to learn more from you guys. What an amazing outcome you and your team have delivered for you client.
OMG, This a gold mine as a graphic designer am finding new ways to convey a message, currently working on a website for a design agency and I must say this gave great pointers on what to work on, much appreciated. 😊😊
I am LOVING this whole journey and I am super duper EXCITED for the next episode! I am extremely grateful for the whole team who shared their valuable process with us. And yes, let me tell you " YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!" Have a creative day ahead!
Congratulations to the Blind team on an awesome series. Really loved the transparency on display here and although Mr BB might not agree, I think having the client through that logo change curve ball ended up with a much better result than originally created. I'll be popping a top in your honor over the weekend. Cheers to you.
Truth be told.... This video is helping me for a presentation which accounts the last 6 credits of my semester. And the presentation is in 1 week 😬. You guys are Lifesavers
Thanks for the great series so far! Quite brave to put a live project on the show, reactions are real and I really enjoy the details around the branding stages for Hamilton. However, I felt the website portion fell short, the concepts were bold, vibrant, dynamic and tactile, but the end product ended up very templateyyy, would of really like to see some more custom design come to live. I think the reactions on the clients tell us their feelings around the website solution. Peace
Awesome episode guys! Also pleasant suprise hearing Webflow mentioned. I started using it a year ago and fell in love. Being a designer with no coding knowledge, it really bridges that gap between myself and development.
@@Kevinproducciones2 It has near-unlimited potential in terms of customization and user-interactions. Wix and squarespace use templates but Webflow is a blank canvas with all the coding being built on the fly as you visually build/program the site. There is more of a learning curve but they have tutorials. Watch some tutorials before purchasing to see if its something youd wanna invest the time in learning but its definitely worth it if you want to create a custom site.
Checked out the website again here in 2021. They have evolved a lot. They got a nice swag store, some typos, sizing and alignment issues... but it's a nice site and still does well what Blind laid down for the business.
I would have stayed up to watch The Stranger Things 3 or any other show but instead I tried to catch up the series before the new episode. Besides, all the other videos on the channel. So much to learn but so little time I have. Thank you for the videos! Applaud to everyone of you!
Excellent work! As a web dev myself, I love that you showed the many lairs of creating an online presence. Really enjoyed this type of video. Keep em coming 😉
Absolutely love the show!! In addition to being very informative and comprehensive, hats off to the video production team for having an eye for detail to improve this show. Such as showing subtitles when Ben and Matthew are on video call with the Hamiltons, which is absent on the previous video.
Absolutely PHENOMENAL series, just binged it this evening after being recommended a couple months back from a colleague. With that being said...the web development has to be the most lacking portion. I've been a professional designer for 9+ years and self taught myself web design back in 2016. It's challenging and a lot of fun, but immensely rewarding. My problem is that you guys spent weeks on the discovery, making and refining stylescapes and the logo to only putting in a fraction of that time into what typically takes the most time to build. I get the beauty of tools like Wix, Webflow and Squarespace, but what's the difference with using those web tools versus an experienced web developer using one of those generic logo makers online? Just a bit of an observation from my end, not trying to be negative at all because the series is stellar. Keep up the great work!
I think the difference is that Logo makers are like jackpots , a starting point for all businesses & for a professional step forward, when the business gets bigger, they will do a rebranding, The design crew will bring in so much value & meaning in forms of the content & graphics that will most definitely carve the impression & be a selling point of the brand! In my personal opinion ( a junior UI UX designer) that's why, The Futur is most definitely about carving meanings to their expertise of design! Presentation is everything.
This is so amazing , a walkthrough of the whole process and what's important maintainability! I've learned a lot from [presenting the website hand-off and you guys always bring so much value to the table! Thank you The Futur!

I like how the workflow is on Sketch, looking at the left bar. But still, it is a very simplistic and sleek web design!
Wow! I've grown so much within the past few weeks in approaching clients and projects. Thanks guys. I hope you keep doing stuff like this us.👍🏽
Yes!! Loved this series. There are literally hundreds of comments and I didn't have time to go through them all but please point me to your answers if you've already addressed these questions:
Did the client change their mind about the logo after you started developing the site? Is that why you were so stressed? What had you already designed when they changed their mind?
Since the handover have the clients had any problems with using webflow? What other problems have arisen concerning usability? I can see that you talk about correctong issues with mobile bugs - what were they and were they easy to fix?
I sincerely appreciate you guys for these kind of videos
This is really awesome guys! Love to see the whole process and the clients' faces when you did the presentation was pure joy. Please don't stop producing videos like this.
So much incredible insights crammed into 23 minutes! I felt like this was an hour-long video. Been developing with Webflow since 2014 and I can't recommend it enough.
I’m in love with this series!!! Did Webflow sponsor you? Because they SHOULD. That website is beautiful and easy to update for novices.
This series is so awesome to watch! Thank you for making this guys!
This guys kill this web dev stage and web designers are awesome both options. Kudos to this two guys for the furnishing, creating web site looks easy but in reality lots of experience and ideas made it look easy for them. This vid made my day i need to go back my desk and finish my project site.
Definitely Satisfied!
I love Webflow so much! Excited that it's getting more recognition.
guys! I just discovered this series and i’m in love ❤️
Welcome to the Futur
thank you ❤️ Appreciate the comment ✌🏼
This by far is my favourite episode! I've looked at the site itself and it's amazing, I love how the colours and typography have been incorporated throughout from the stylescape. I can't wait to learn more from you guys. What an amazing outcome you and your team have delivered for you client.
OMG, This a gold mine as a graphic designer am finding new ways to convey a message, currently working on a website for a design agency and I must say this gave great pointers on what to work on, much appreciated. 😊😊
Amazing as always! Guys, I'm shocked by how smoothly Mr. Ben Burns can make you fall in love with a product... now I can't wait to try Webflow!
This is such an under-appreciated, gold content. I can never thank you enough, guys, unbelievable.
I am LOVING this whole journey and I am super duper EXCITED for the next episode! I am extremely grateful for the whole team who shared their valuable process with us. And yes, let me tell you " YOU GUYS ARE AMAZING!"
Have a creative day ahead!
So well done. We love Webflow. Keep these coming... please.
Congratulations to the Blind team on an awesome series. Really loved the transparency on display here and although Mr BB might not agree, I think having the client through that logo change curve ball ended up with a much better result than originally created. I'll be popping a top in your honor over the weekend. Cheers to you.
No, I 100% agree - the logo turned out SO much better!
@@mrbenburns Sign of an honorable man, when one can swallow his pride and work for the greater good. Tip of the cap to you sir.
each upload you guys keep the hype up!!!!!! love it!!!
this is my favorite show on youtube right now!
This series has been super informative and inspiring. Thanks guys!
Truth be told.... This video is helping me for a presentation which accounts the last 6 credits of my semester. And the presentation is in 1 week 😬. You guys are Lifesavers
Good luck!
🤯🤯🤯 both the "Yodas". Anyways Thanks man! 😊
Peace
Webflow is the best ever! What a lucky intern. Would've killed for that job
Awesome episode guys! Also pleasant suprise hearing Webflow mentioned. I started using it a year ago and fell in love. Being a designer with no coding knowledge, it really bridges that gap between myself and development.
Do you think that tool is better than wix and the other website builders?
@@Kevinproducciones2 It has near-unlimited potential in terms of customization and user-interactions. Wix and squarespace use templates but Webflow is a blank canvas with all the coding being built on the fly as you visually build/program the site. There is more of a learning curve but they have tutorials. Watch some tutorials before purchasing to see if its something youd wanna invest the time in learning but its definitely worth it if you want to create a custom site.
@@iamtommyok Thanks you!!
Webflow is a killer tool for web design these days! That's awesome that you guys used it for this project!
Thank you! 🙌
Is it better than wix??
@@Kevinproducciones2 I would say they're different tools for different people.
Checked out the website again here in 2021. They have evolved a lot. They got a nice swag store, some typos, sizing and alignment issues... but it's a nice site and still does well what Blind laid down for the business.
Like the way, you explain n be a part of the client journey...Enjoy & Cheers.....HAMILTON BEER!
Wow, have to say this has been great to watch! Your process is way better than the professors at my school. Wish I could be an intern with y’all!
Thanks for watching!
Absolutely love the website handover. You guys nailed it 😍
I would have stayed up to watch The Stranger Things 3 or any other show but instead I tried to catch up the series before the new episode. Besides, all the other videos on the channel. So much to learn but so little time I have. Thank you for the videos! Applaud to everyone of you!
Love, love, love you guys! This is THE most brilliant walk-through of the creative process that’s available anywhere!! Ginormous fan here!
Excellent work!
As a web dev myself, I love that you showed the many lairs of creating an online presence.
Really enjoyed this type of video.
Keep em coming 😉
This series is SO good!!! Thank you The Futur!
The DBZ reference at 15:17 made my day lol
Lots of great value! I am so amazed by this series. :D
I genuinely hope this series never ends
all good things must end.
Absolutely love the show!! In addition to being very informative and comprehensive, hats off to the video production team for having an eye for detail to improve this show. Such as showing subtitles when Ben and Matthew are on video call with the Hamiltons, which is absent on the previous video.
Loved it again..
Will share all these videos to other designers as well.
Loving this series! Please keep them going!
