This was a pretty solid video thats defo going in my playlist... Just one thing that has nothing to do with the topic but is jus for general awareness... LG is abbreviation for lucky goldstar... Life's good is their tagline
Wwey Stephen. Got across your videos today and I'm extracting lots of value! --> What is the best video, or any kind of resource you have that relates and helps to build a killer Pitch-deck? Grateful for all your strategic steps. Keep it up!
The Apple logo isn’t directly about mobiles or electronics-it’s more about representing the brand's values like innovation and simplicity. Over time, it’s become a symbol people instantly connect with Apple’s high-quality tech products!
I think it's confusing a bit when you rank a logo on multiple categories, at least, while you're trying to explain each category. The rest is awesome, nice video.
11:10 - slight pedantry here, but LG's name doesnt stand for "life's good", that is just a tagline/motto styled as a retronym. LG actually stands for "Lucky Goldstar", or 'Lucky Chemical Co' and 'Goldstar Technology'. LG was the company formed as a merger of the two, and LG became LG as execs apparently thought "Lucky Goldstar" was a mouthful.
Yes, there is a difference. Pictorial marks are detailed images representing a brand, while pictogram logos are simplified, iconic symbols. Both have their place in branding, depending on the message and audience.
As a mark, I really like it… Though they sacrificed a lot of heritage associations. AC Milan recently rebranded and help onto more of their heritage and tradition in their emblem. www.dixonbaxi.com/work/acmilanbrand
Isnt just me that Typography is not good for startups? Typography is good if you want to have esthetic approach for small business like giving writing service or else but def bad for tech/high capital startup/ big business.
Typography matters for all businesses, including tech and high capital startups. It's less style but also about clarity and associations. It's how you use it, not just whether you use it.
Only minutes in and you are already putting in peoples head that a logo design is about communication multiple times. This is not true at all, and only to a certian extent .... A logo is not communication. A logo is identification. - Sagig Haviv. In my professional opinion communication in logo identity and desing is subtle and un seen like using Colour Therory for example. The more times a person see the logo they itentify it as that brand, you could have a circle as the logo but after time people assoiate it to the brand that when it becomes in the sense communication only after time when it is etablished as part of the brand.
It’s either not true at all, or only to a certain extent… it can’t be both. Yes the logo is about identification… it includes recognition, memorability and recall. But it’s also a form of visual communication and a strategic tool. A logo can communicate, ideas, positions, heritage, associations and more... and your example of colour theory argues for, not against logos as a form of communication There are many examples if you look. Of course a logo can be a dot… But in your professional opinion…. Isn't that a wasted opportunity to communicate something more strategic and meaningful?
A great lesson in logo making !

Fine point about scalability, in fact many logos and icons need adjustments for very small reproduction.

Ironically, many well known brands are over simplifying their logos now as a trend... Here's to hoping this blandness is short lived.

How's Apple logo related to mobiles or electronics in general?
