Mate you got Branson! My ol boss at Virgin. He really inspired me and also great staff party at one of is estates down south. Great guy and incredible business.
@@rajivfindlay1747 Sorry but to me this person (if you can call it that) will forever be to me the man who sued the NHS and took standard healthcare from the poorest people. Utterly and completely sociopathic.
Can you ask him to buy Man Utd please? :)
Please bro ad subtitle
Now THIS is a new chapter for The Diary of a CEO. More billionaires incoming.
I flew from the Uk on virgin some 15 years ago, and as we boarded the plane, Richard Branson was welcoming people in. We were the last to board so he asked us to join him in first class. We chatted all the way and he had his notebook with him and scribbled away. It was a pleasure to meet him, a real gent. I'll never forget it and have followed him ever since. As a fellow dyslexic, he is truly inspiring to me.
cool story Paul.
Thats real style 😎
I met somone who worked for virgin mobile back when Branson was hands on, she said the company basically went to shit overnight after he stepped away from it as far as it being a great company to work for.
Brilliant first hand story. Well done Paul. I wonder what he was actually writing?..........P
cool story bro
The level of guests on this show is genuinely insane. Quickly becoming the most important podcast in the world.
I think it already is, officially.
ovisli is richard i wouldn't be here otherwise
He pays them extraordinarily, or their chosen charities, but shh!
The JRE is and will always be the GOAT but yes, this is absolutely on another level compared to the rest!

Thanks for such an insightful and inspiring conversation, Steven.
I have dyslexia too! 😁🚀
RichardBranson … you need to change one thing In africa that will for sure be so impactful to the whole world
You're such an inspiration 🙏🇿🇼
Love you Richard!
@@tuhairweronnie7385a change in Africa is for Africans. Why ask a white man to change Africa? We all know the history of Europeans and Africa. Leave him out of it and get whatever country you’re from in Africa to make that change. Better still do the change yourself. Change in Africa isn’t Richard Branson’s duty. Such dumb comment.
I'm an entrepreneur that struggles with self belief...its a battle.
Your podcasts are helping me.
Thank you
same here
yep I'm the same
You did a terrific job of interviewing Sir Richard Branson. I can imagine you not getting much sleep the night before. Your questions were thoughtful, insightful and meaningful. Better than what he would be asked elsewhere. I really got to feel his essence and sense his sensitivity. I do hope that reaching this pinnacle in your podcast, is not the top of the mountain, but the start of the next one. Well done Steven. Professional journalists need to take a leaf from your book. Ludwina from Melbourne, Australia xxx
I’ll have to admit, publishing this at 6:00am GMT time is brilliant. First thing for the early risers on a Monday morning for that extra jolt of motivation and/or strategy. I see you Steven. Well played.
🤍 Let me know what you think of the episode Mauricio!
A lot of people also listen during the commute to work so 6am is great. Ps Steven saw you at THG studios interview was brilliant, pleased how things are going for you and the podcast
@@TheDiaryOfACEO very good
Can’t even remember how or why your podcast popped up in my feed a few weeks ago, but I’ve been playing catch up on your episodes since! Without question your interview style is superior to anyone else I have watched, and I learn something new and ‘deep’ about every person that sits across that table from you. LOVE your content Sir… keep up the AMAZING work! 😊
@@TheDiaryOfACEO brilliant as always mate, your podcast is my favourite
As well as a successful businessman in his own right, Steven is tremendous at interviewing people. This is almost a lost art nowadays; being able to lead the conversation whilst letting the interviewee do most of the talking is a timeless skill.
Thank you Steven!
Amen to that 🙌🙌🙌 Bravo @stevenbartlet 👏👏👏
Common courtesy - it’s sadly a lost art in so many areas of life!
Ttue Piers Morgan could learn a thing or two here..
@@chrisberry9017 I couldn't agree more, it's a shame they don't teach this stuff in schools.
Richard is a sweet soul… Lesson to all about money; money doesn’t buy happiness but belief in oneself and determination can.
@cathithomas? Respectfully? I must disagree with you. Money buys more happiness than I ever dreamed or imagined possible for myself & the people I love. Been VERY poor & also VERY wealthy and I assure you that rich has been better :-) I commend people who work hard to achieve financial success. It makes life soooooooooo much easier.
i met richard once years ago in his at the time new training centre in crawley i was electician i had to ask him what sockets he wanted in his office above the main entrance he was such a nice man he made me feel like i mattered and he was so down to earth he cared about my opinion he is a normal as me
This CD is absolutely wonderful! ruclips.net/user/postUgkxzpa8CIfZcihW4Z0F_ja0QF3W9KIatrsq I liked it so much that I bought a copy for my sister who also liked it. It is very well done. I like the fact that there is nothing in the background to disturb - no music. I am able to concentrate on the various steps of meditation. The pauses are perfect, and him's voice is soothing and encouraging. I would highly recommend this, especially for beginners. I think I will always be a beginner.
Let's be honest, Stephen is an incredible individual who is sharing the sofa with these incredible entrepreneurs. Yet, because he has done it himself, there is in innate level of respect for him from the guests. Richard Branson, is such an astonishing individual. What a superb interview Stephen. Thank you.
WOW. Great interview Steven. What a gentle humble man. A testament to you Steven that he agreed to be interviewed by you. Well done.
This deserves to be 2hrs+ Richard Branson is the definition of an entrepreneur. And he is far from a virgin lol in the business world. So this is definitely appreciated.
True!
He's one of those who has lead the way in asset stripping the NHS.
@@jwsuicides8095 I haven’t heard about this….I’ll look into it!
I am genuinely sorry for your loss Mr Branson and feel deep compassion for your circumstances. Big hugs to you and your loved ones 🫂 everything will work out for you...thank you for your raw honesty...take care of you..
What an amazing and inspiring interview! What sticks out for me the most is Richard's concerns for his employees! Many a CEO or/and managers can learn from him!
During a very low period, a sad phase in my life I happened to pick up Richards book and he made a total about turn in my life. I could say it saved me and made me a better person. Richard probably will never know the good influence he oozes to others. ❤ his style and lift. 👍☘️
Which book of his was that?
agreed that book was amazing.
Without a doubt, the biggest guest the podcast has had.
🙏🏽🤍
For me I'm going to have to say Jordan Peterson.
The biggest crook for sure.
@@TheHopeMusicGroup who?
@@TheHopeMusicGroup I would put Jordan Peterson in the top 5 but from an entrepreneurial POV, Branson is number 1.
Hey Steven, congratulations. Todays interview is a real game changer taking your podcast into the stratosphere. Sir Richard thank you for making time for Steven!
Thank you Steven for making time for Sir Richard
I love how Steven is gentle, listening and open to ask questions that are not necessarily from his list... he is a genuine and natural in talking to people... very gentle and open hearted
Just following Richard Branson and growing up with him in the public eye helped so many of us. 20 years ago I bought my first two properties after reading his biography and this gave me the start in life that I really needed. Thank you so much.
I love this podcast and I love Richard Branson. When I was at school I found out that he is dyslexic too and it gave me so much hope in my future and made me relax a bit about my exams.
Can't believe I got to meet Richard on a Virgin flight to Barbados many years ago!! He was my ultimate hero growing up - an unthinkable dream come true. This was a great interview, watched until the end. Keep em coming Steven!
April 2024, for those of you who struggled with Sir Richard Bransons stammering .. his dyslexia has never stopped him aiming toward higher spaces in the world, to be the person that he is and continues to be today. WOW is all I can say in this interview. Brilliant. Thank you.
My favourite episode of Diary of a CEO to date. I’ve never seen this personal side of RB, what an insight. Keep them coming Steven - you’re doing an amazing job!!!!! 🤝
It is amazing how much you can learn about such range of matters through the conversations Steve has with his guests. Inspiring people with great knowledge about their field and beyond. If it’s not yet the most important Podcast, it should definitely be the most important. The people that Steve brings to the table are the biggest influencers in the world! A big thanks from Nicaragua 🇳🇮.
Never miss an episode of DOAC. It is inspiring to hear him talk about his mum, especially as I found parallels between her and mine in the principled as well as professional sense. Not only that, when I was the same age, my mum was also reading Richard's autobiography, and so he has been this inspiring character for over a generation.
Thanks for listening Simba 🙏🏽
Whattttttttttttt???!!!!!!!!! Stephen and Co - you guys are producing the best content in this podcast-sphere by far! Well done! I absolutely love having access to this. Monday morning made. Thank you. Really looking forward to listening.
Thanks Kelly ❤
Legend, as a 52 year old dyslexic myself having Richard as a icon growing up, definitely helped shape the way i looked at life and building my own companies over the years. Love all your interviews, honest and heartfelt.
Me too Dyslexic..
As a dyslexic, I totally get this, and it is a gift! I have always looked up t this man as an inspiration in life and hugely at school to help me get through.
It's not if you have a court case.
Its why so many dyslexic men are in jail currently I think.
The system can write faster than some people can read.
It's literally that.
They could be innocent or and productive.
There's a gap in the market for diagnosis and Advocates for dyslexic people who can't afford legal fees but could pay something towards the help.
It's a politically charged hornets nest if anyone did it.
But it's a good fight.
It looks as if there this help but in reality it's not in place.
I am a dyslexic and no help diagnosed late in life dyslexic people in my experience don't give up easily. But it's a double bind system where winning is for losers.
Here's the to do list of what's necessary
1) Decent reading software qnd extra appointments for dyslexics.
2)Advocates qnd accounting for dyslexic people in court proceedings.
3) Training given to legal professionals so they understand their own neurodivergence and how this can colour their perception of how dyslexic people work.
4)Memory prompts and notes allowed in court if the person has memory issues.
5) intelligence tests that are dyslexia friendly
6) loan people assistive technology
7) 3xtra time given for reading court documents.
8) Extra time for legal aid representatives to go through dyslexic peoples anointing of documents.
9) Disability laws change so that everyone has a fair trial.
10) Inclusion on the ground that there is different people who learn differently and that's OK.
= culture change.
11) Thanks for listening. Dyslexic people do communicate in unconventional ways.
We break social norms if necessary because the apparatus wasn't designed for us.
It's a different more wordy neurotype.
It doesn't make us mad bad or wrong.
✌️
This was THE interview I was most looking forward to hearing Steven, and it certainly did not disappoint. Thank you so much .. I’m a great fan, of you both! 👏
Absolutely brilliant. Had the opportunity to meet this gentle giant some years ago in Washington DC. Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Amazingly done. Thank you very much for an excellent hour with you both 👍🏻😎 Being CEO myself, you both provide inspiration and good energy which I can apply to my life as well through such Podcasts 👍🏻
What an absolute treat to wake up to this on a Monday Morning! This has to be an award winning interview! Well done!
Wow .....What a story and what a legend, no one broke more barriers and still is than Richard Branson. Fantastic interview Steven, looking forward to reading book and watching Richard HBO show. Hats off to get him on the show.

I enjoyed every second of this interview. Steven, you ask the most incredible questions that bring out both the genius and the humanity in your guests. Thank you for interviewing one of the most inspiring icons of all time. You are, without a doubt, gifted in what you do.
Thank you for being so respectful to Richard, I love the way you conveyed to him just how much we appreciate this interview and the impact it has made. I did a presentation in Management School about Richard. Such a genuine real life Hero. I found it most interesting to learn that courtesy towards others was highly valued in his childhood. No wonder he has such a dynamic personality. I didn't realise he was so attractive as well. I'm changed by this Podcast (as I often am with your content). Thank you🙏💙
Appreciate it Teena, thanks for listening!
I really love him! After reading one of his books many years ago I was so amazed and inspired by him, his ethic, his vision! Great conversation!
An incredible, INCREDIBLE, interview. Thank you... No words other than that!
I can see the, 'oh my god Richard Branson is infront of me,' excited but professionally calm face. I've admired Sir Branson and always wondered what he would be really like without scripted questions big lights and bigger cameras in the world. Much appreciated for this interview.
Watching Steve's elevation in hosts has been motivational within itself. Almost a journey within a journey. Thank you for the hard work you put into this podcast, you're changing peoples lives.
Thank you for listening Lou 🙏🏽🤍
I concur.

I love how you always create space for guests to speak its what allows for the evolution of the conversation , a great conversation Thankyou !
So true - and such welcome refreshing positive change from the aggressive entrapping defeating approach used by many tv interviewers
GREAT INTERVIEW with excellent questions Steven! So far I've watched up to episode 2 of his "Branson" 4 episode tv series, Richard is so inspiring!
There’s a before and after this podcast for me. I now feel confident with my dislexia ❤

Such an incredible episode, I can imagine this as a pinch me moment for you! Seeing your growth of this over the years is truly inspiring and so proud of your journey and how many lives you are helping with these insightful conversations!
The most decent billionaire interview and excellent interviewer approach. Refreshing, insightful…kudos! 🎉
Perfect timing! Was recently scrolling through your podcast to see if you've interviewed R Branson and couldn't find anything, so very excited for this :)
Steven, thank you so very much for Bringing on Richard Branson, its interviews like this that sparks the minds that become someone powerful and creative
A man of your word Steven. Bigger subs, bigger guests! No doubt it's been a big part of your success. I wish you all the best, in your journey moving forward. 🙏
I wrote a letter to Richard over a year ago as I wanted some advice on building a business, although the response from presumably his PR company was nice I've always wished to have spoken with Sir Richard Branson, I'm glad you did this interview as I feel like I perhaps now have. Thanks, Steven!
Thank you! And thanks for being a member xx - SB
Wooow!

Golden information! I’m so grateful I get to listen to podcasts like this. Thank you Steven 👌🏻
Here for this as always
It just keeps getting better and better with each episode ❤❤
Thanks for watching 🙏Let me know what you think
What a well structured interview. I'm so impressed by your ability to keep voice control and calmness in your questioning. My quote, 'a quiet interview'. Then to interview my absolute favourite person on this incredible planet. Two voices that compliment a very intelligent and enjoyable conversation. Thank you Mr. Richard Branson for giving this young man a chance to chat to you.
Stephen ! I was trying to go to bed.
And now I have to stay up even longer to watch this beauty at 6:40am. Great guest sir
Thank you so much for all your videos !
What's interesting about Richard Branson is that he's a relatively unremarkable man who's achieved some pretty remarkable stuff and doesn't try and pretend this isn't the case, making him incredibly likeable. He's just good at life. Great episode, great guest.
This podcast just just absolutely blows my mind every single time
just when I think it can't get any better you always go up ten fold
Looking forward to this interview New Year’s Eve. Thank You!
What a masterful interview by Steven and what an inspiring human being Richard Branson is.
Was super excited when I saw you have Sir Richard on the podcast this morning. Probably my most wanted guest! I worked for Virgin Atlantic for a while and always super inspired by Sir Richard and his story. I had the privilege of briefly meeting him one evening where he could barely walk after he had just kite surfed the English channel. What an absolute legend! Thank you Steven and DOAC team! 🙌
Steven! You go from strength to strength on your journey of sharing the most inspirational and comprehensive content here on this platform. Be aware that people agree to come on your podcast because of YOU! You shine in a world of mediocrity. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Thank you both! Great story. I gained very valuable lessons and deep inspiration from this interview.
Such a calmness with you that opens your guests up, I am hooked on these.
This was an incredible episode! As a parent with a child who is dyslexic, when listening to Mr. Branson talk about his algebra struggles, no understanding to the things that have no relevance in his eyes he checks out and goes to read, research or watch what he’s interested in and masters it all. Mr. Branson kudos to you executing your visions to reality! There was so much to take away from this interview. 👏
Lastly, when I tell my son he’s different he always tells me “I’m a different type of smart”. While in school he never realized he had additional accommodations and when I was trying to explain to him what that meant and he didn’t instead continued to ask the school to put him in harder classes and I advocated for him no matter his differences in thinking. Again, great interview Mr. Branson is an amazing businessman!
Wow! This is amazing! Branson is the epithet of success.
Your content is very impressive.
What a great interview! Thank you for giving us amazing content ❤
I'm dyslexia and love to see Richard Branson he is the best.

I have been binge watching your podcast over the past few weeks and was so enthralled that I forgot to comment. Thanks for the reminder.
Fantastic! Thanks for another great interview Steven.
I worked in a 5⭐ hotel in Ireland a few years ago, and printed in the handbook was a quote which read; "Train people well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to".
I have wanted to work for Richard Branson ever since then. He sounds amazing and sounds likes a really great man to work for.
As the saying goes; "look after your staff and your staff will look after your business".
I do hope the hotel brand would remove this quote from their handbook, because they train people like crap and they treat them the same way. Sadly.
Top work!
I've been to one of his party's when I was a kid, top man!!
It's my dream to see one of these live! And a dream to meet you.
All the love!
Thank you for asking such interesting questions.

Brilliant! 🤜🤛 That went so quick. My bro-in law did some business with him designing an air terminal in SA some years ago which I don't think ever got the permission to go ahead. They were trying to fit in time for the meeting. Richard suggested a breakfast meeting...At my bro-in-laws house in North Yorkshire. Huge respect to him. I worked for Virgin Media for many years so thanks for putting the bread on my breakfast table Sir Richard Branson.👏👏
Well done Steven, incredible interviewing 👏
What a decent human being. When money goes to a kind person, fear not. Lovely x

Wow, I can only resonate with what Steven says how inspiring Sir Richard Branson is. I would be like this is it, I can take a long break of my seat after this interview. Exept that you can't, and there are other amazing people out there. Much appreciation to Steven Bartlett for all his interviews.
