About the fake service dogs issue just know you have some people out in the community actively trying to spread awareness about this issue. I have so many friends who need service animals that it irritates me to no end whenever I see fake service animals or public access issues. I have numerous times already spread PSAs on all my platforms to raise awareness not only on public access issues, but the harm fake service animals do to those who truly need their service animals to live life daily. I've confronted numerous store owners (politely) and explained they can only ask 2 questions legally about service animals and may not deny access. I've talked to general public who've tried distracting other's service animals and explained why it's dangerous and illegal, and I've called out fake service animal owners and made them leave public stores. I will not stand for people making life more difficult for people who actually need the services like you do. I do ask others to try to make the public aware whenever they can too, but please do it kindly and gently and if they refuse to listen either leave the situation alone or if it's the case of a storeowner get law enforcement involved either way be tuned into the body language of the handler and make sure they are okay with the situation.
I was super nervous to post this video because I'm a very positive and optimistic person and don't like talking about negative things, but all of these things are very real and I feel it's part of my job here on RUclips to educate and talk about this. Also, I did 11... not 10! haha

It's not negative. It's drawing attentions to the struggles of the blind community. It's important to make people aware and take away the stigma.
Why is she focusing perfectly every 5sec directly on the camera? I know blind people. This doesn’t happen so frequently. When I’m talking to them they know we’re to focus. But cams dont make noises.

She has been filming for a long time. she is blind, not every blind person is the same and being blind doesn't always mean u see nothing , some see lights and shadows or tunnel vision etc . You need to educate yourself rather than try and call someone's disability fake smh

Non Visual signs someone likes you!
1. close proximity: if you can hear their voice is closer or feel them leaning towards you, that’s a sign of interest. people want to be closer to people they like.
2. changes in voice: smooth people might lower their voice so only you can hear. some people may also stutter more or giggle in their speech. they may also change the pitch of their voice, like going really high pitch as if they were nervous.
3. physical contact: you’ve heard this before. people are more touchy when they are interested in you. for example. in the arms, touches on the shoulder are more friendly, but as they move downwards toward the wrist and hands, that can be more indicative of interest. touch on the legs tends to be more intimate, but it gets the point across.
4. gauging your interest: when it comes to topic of conversation, people will tend to ask more questions about you. they will sneak in little things about whether your single, if you’re interested in relationships, what kind of lover you are, et cetera. as long as they aren’t to invasive, these questions can be more telling of personal interest. Remember, however, it’s all in the delivery.
5. Sharing deep stuff: when people like you, they may trust you more with personal things. if you find someone confiding in you, you at least know they respect you enough to share their lives with you. Topics of family, love life, intimacy, mental health, and social issues are all very personal topics. sharing within these topics demonstrates a level of openness with you.
6. dropping hints: subtle mentions of availability, sincere compliments, offers of something more, joking remarks about the two of you dating, expressions of fondness, and the like
I know these are all pretty common and some are pretty vague, but i hope this helps! feel free to add on!

I’m legally blind, one of the saddest things I live with is walking right by family and friends in public. My mom visited me at work and I just walked right past her without so much as a blink. It broke her heart because despite knowing I can’t see she sometimes forgets until moments like that. It’s also hard for me to not know what I really look like, it makes it difficult to be confident.
I feel not being able to see people’s facial expressions makes it extremely hard to communicate! People who have no idea you can’t see often assume your rude, especially when you have squinty eyes! People always think I’m mean mugging them! 😂
I worked for my parents for 12 years and applied to many jobs during that time. Every time I would disclose my disability the interviewer would look and talk to me differently and I wouldn’t get the job. The ONE time I chose not to disclose my disability I got the job and discussed my vision after.
I don’t see this video as a boohoo poor me type thing, I see it as a way to educate people with common things a lot of people struggle with. We should be able to share our thoughts and feelings and help each other out, that’s what community is all about! Keep up with your bad self!

S Kani more people need to speak out about the negative affects of it though. When you have anxiety and your doctor says hey you can bring your best friend anywhere you like you’ll most likely say yes without thinking about the repercussions.
Yeah, that’s like the most annoying thing, I have diabetes and I have a service dog. Once we went to target and a fake service dog attacked my service dog after that we called the police and the owner had to pay us 12 000$ 😰🐶

@Anny's World cause your past experiences shape your future. If you have dealt with liars and trust issues then there will be trust issues. As a male, that is a stigma to overcome. It can be done though. You will find the guy that allows you trust again, we are out there. 😊
Low expectations, non-verbal queues and lack of employment opportunities are absolutely my biggest negatives about my blindness. As a 40 year old man I had no idea about the sexual assault statistics and that’s horrifying.
Thank you as always for being real, for being a strong voice for people in our community. I’m embarrassed to admit that growing up I always intentionally avoided being a part of the blind and visually impaired community because I wanted to prove that I could do anything I wanted and didn’t need help or accommodations. I’ve grown a lot since then and now I’ve gone to law school and am very fortunate to be in the 20% of our community that is gainfully employed and I’m trying to use what leverage I have to help shrink that 80% number by giving something back. Anyway, this was super long winded on my part. But the bottom line is: thank you Molly
The thing with the baby touched me

I am about to have my 6th baby and although I’m not disabled in any way I get frustrated and sad because I have no sense of smell... like at all... so I can’t smell my clean baby with the baby lotion and I can’t tell if they soiled a diaper right after I just changed them and I feel like such a bad mom. I couldn’t imagine not seeing my babies though. It breaks my heart
Mary Rose Gutierrez Please don't ever feel like a bad mom for that. Firstly, it's not something you can help. It'd be different if your baby needed a diaper change and you just didn't care. Just for the simple fact that this upset you so much shows how good of a mother you are. Secondly, I broke my nose a few years back and lost all sense of smell for about 6 months. Long story short, I caught a macaroni box on fire on my stove and my back was facing it. I couldn't smell it. Luckily,y daughter saw it and told me. I felt soooo bad that my 6 year old daughter had to be mom for a second and what could have happened. It taught me to be much more vigilant with my other senses, which you never really think about until you lose one and have to rely more on the others. Thirdly, I have 6 kids too! Lol. Just keep doing what you do and always be thankful for your blessings. Good job Mama. 😉

I was in a cafe and I saw a woman signing "help" in ASL.. She was with a man who looked at if he was getting to close to her and she looked uncomfortable so I went over and yelled "STOP HARASSING THIS WOMAN!" and everyone looked over. It sucks that horrible people take advantage of disabled woman. I wish this wasn't a reality.
I just looked up a video to see what Help looks like in ASL.
@@surfvolume That's good, I think its important to educate yourself, just remember that different countries use different kinds of ASL.
@@shooklee387 ASL is American sign language so it also probably wouldn't be called asl but whatever that countries is (sorry I don't mean to be rude in any way just help avoid any confusion sorry if it sounds rude)

I have a blind friend and she has a pretty cool hack on how to read signs, images, or menus out and about. She uses google translate and makes it turn from english to english so it reads what text is in the photo she took to her.

I don't use Uber so forgive me if this is already a feature of the app, but I think there should be a way for Uber users to verify their guide of service dogs and for Uber divers to get seriously marked down for refusing service in these situations. Molly, have you ever thought about starting a petition for this? I think it would gain a lot fo traction as you have such a large audience.

As a fully abled young women i’m always afraid of being followed when walking places. I never even thought of how it would affect someone disabled and it makes me so sad that is the world we live in. Thank you for showing a light on this topic and educating. I hope everyone stays safe and look out for each other.
Yeah it’s really hard, and a lot of people just do not care, I am blind and when I was at College of the University adamantly refused to provide the resources of having an assistant or someone with me in someway who could walk around places with me to help me get around for navigating as well as for safety, they just kept telling me to use the Walkingstick and that should be sufficient, but none of those people ever got dropped off blindfold on a humongous university campus and just told to navigate, people don’t think of all the little things like being able to find an open chair or table running into strollers backpacks being able to find the line etc. and a lot of situations we do need to have somebody actually helping us with but the society does not like to go in that direction and so safety is really compromised unless we just want to sit at home and miss out on life
@@edgein1830 Many women freeze up/get paralyzed when getting assaulted. The brain goes into survival mode, which means you're relying on instincts, not your cerebral cortex, meaning you can't use logic or think through what's happening. Most people know about fight or flight as an automatic response, but the truth is that freeze is an important and overlooked response as well, and it occurs when the body doesn't feel any way to escape through fight or flight. This happens especially if the victim is being assaulted by someone they know. You can look it up, and I know this happens because my cousin, my best friend, experienced this while getting raped by her "close friend". She still has nightmares and flashbacks and it's been months. So sure, buy a gun. Learn how to use it. But that might still not keep you safe... especially if you're blind and can't see where to aim.
Karisa P alexa advised she was a able body women that's why i advised a handgun if she was frightened .. As far as molly or any blind person i would advise jujitsu .. And stay away from black people .. They are arrested for 53 % of murders in us.. 😅😈

I don't think you were too negative here at all! In fact, I think it's really telling that a lot of the points you mention are things that are caused by how society treats disabled people, and by the lack of widespread accessibility. It's important to be genuine, but it's doubly important to talk about the things that are difficult because of society's ableism, because drawing attention to those things is how we get them changed

Molly, thank you SO much for taking the time to share this! I know it was probably super hard to sit down and chat about negativity when you're such an over the top positive wonderful person! But I think it was really important for us to hear the real struggles of your day to day life, to understand this difficulties that come with blindness. Love you 💕
PDFs not being accessible really annoys me because so much of my university work is given to us that way and I'm dyslexic, I can read pretty well but when you're reading 30 pages of theory I'd rather have it read to me
Clíodhna there are programs that can translate a pdf to text
Yeah but the formats get messed up so programs have trouble reading it
@voice on Android works quite well it literally just reads the PDF to you I don't find it messes it up.
For computers I normally just copy the text and paste it in a text reader if they have pictures you just have to do this in chunks
Before having a lot of surgeries on my eyes to get my vision back PDFs were a nightmare! I couldn't have them read to me , the only thing I could do was blow my screen 500% and read a couple of words at a time
Clíodhna PDFs have an accessibility thing on then and it reads it to you, I have to use it in my exams. It’s so much worse than all other built in ones on other applications and the one on my Mac

Unexpectedly, this video actually made me emotional. I really take advantage of my sight and I can't imagine my anxiety levels if I were that vulnerable, or treated differently, or stared at all the time without being able to address it or see it. Even being obsessed with makeup and fashion and not being able to see your improvement or how it's turning out. For me, education is huge and I wouldn't have had the educational opportunities that I've had if I were blind and that's not fair! Ugh

LeAnn Brown I get what you are saying - I too am infinitely appreciative of having good vision, and always encourage others to take care of their sight (wear safety glasses when working with tools, sunglasses out in the sun, etc). My employment (I work in Electro-Optics) is dependent on clear color vision, so I feel for those that don't have the same opportunity. It is sad that so many employers, where vision is not essential to perform the tasks, are completely unwilling to hire someone with limited vision. Work ethic and personality are far more important. Thank you @mollyburkeofficial for sharing your experience and reminding us fortunate to have good vision to appreciate it :)
@Gimme Peach I don't do it on purpose! What I mean is I wake up seeing, and I get to go to school and see the board, and I get to walk around the mall without getting stared at or needing help without really thinking "hey thank God I can see." This video definitely changed that though and made me a hell of a lot more grateful!

Last night I dreamt I met you out in the streets and wanted to run up to you but then suddenly forgot how to speak English (English isn’t my native language), so I was just speaking to you in my language and you were all confused so I focussed on Gallop and he just started talking back (in my language). I was so confused I couldn’t talk to you yet was having a great convo with your dog and suddenly you said that he had to stop barking, resulting in him shying away and me running away bc I was too scared of not being able to talk to you (bc that’s the common thing to do). Jesper Willems maybe that symbolizes you feeling disconnected from her. she is a public figure you see on a screen, and can’t actually meet/talk to her so maybe that’s why u couldn’t communicate to her in your dream.
I'm so happy you talked about the sexual abuse. First of all I hope everyone stays safe and don't let the fear or experience with sexual abuse stop you from doing what you do. I've been sexually abused, and even as a sighted woman I'm scared for it to happen again, so I can't imagine what it must feel like for blind or deaf women. I just want to tell everybody who's been through it, that it is safe to talk about it to a family member, a good friend, your doctor or a therapist. I've gone months keeping it to myself and it only made me feel worse... But I've come to learn that it was not my fault, I couldn't have changed anything, and it is better to tell somebody, anybody. I was scared to go to my favourite bar, because my abuser also went there a lot. It's about 9 months later and I never go alone to the bar, but I'm happy I finally got the courage to go there again.

Girl you don't need a mirror to look at yourself. Sometimes a mirror brings the sad part of people other times it brings joy. You don't need to worry about that because all you need is to believe that you look beautiful. Or just me to tell tell you that you are. ;) Love you so much!
Lexie Spihlmann I actually wish so so so much that we couldn't see ourselves or other people physically. :( that it was all based on personality and character on the inside. Plus I have an eating disorder so it would be nice to not feel like the world is so obsessed with looking thin and beautiful. :(

Yeah and then it doesn’t not help matters in terms of how difficult it is as a blind woman to get married and that kind of thing so more often than not we are just left totally alone and abandoned it’s very hard to fit in in the corporate setting and it’s very hard to fit in in terms of becoming a housewife and that type of thing so we often times just become somebody auntiewho never married kind of a thing,
This made me really emotional because a lot of the stuff we take for granted were mentioned. The two main examples for me were parties and kids because we expect parties to be fun and I couldn’t even imagine the anxiety I would get if I lost one of my most important senses and I was surrounded with people without sound or only able to hear loud music. Once she started talking about not being able to see her kid when/if she has one is something we don’t even think about. We take so much stuff for granted like jobs and access to places that it was really eye opening. Every single one of ur videos Molly have inspired me and I’m so glad we happy people like you on this platform to almost “raise” younger generations into kind people and to educate everyone how to react to certain things without set mindsets and perceptions of disabled people.

I can relate to so many of these, being deaf and mute, trying to describe anything to people by myself is near impossible, along with people try and get my service dog distracted i need him to help me throughout the day. People stare at me everywhere i go, finding a job is near impossible cause i cannot communicate with anyone and learning ASL is apparently too much work even though its so helpful. You are an inspiration to everyone.
Maybe theres some heavy audio youtube videos of how to do i or cds somewhere, or a course to learn ASL , good luck to you in getting the help you need. :)
U inspire me so much. Youre a fuxking hero. I mean it. I survived cancer twice and lost half my face to amputation.. a tumor destroyed my jaw and changed everything.. I was labeled a freak. I will be turning 31 this year, and have been watching your channel for years now, as I am continually losing parts of my vision , progressing to inevitable total blindness. My doctors keep telling me it’s not if I lose my vision, but when, and as I get closer to that, I value your opinion and tips on daily life as a blind woman. You are so inspiring for anyone with a disability, or looking ahead as their condition worsens. Thank you for being such a great idea for a goal as to what we can achieve, despite our disability that cause so many difficulties.
i want to thank you. your videos have given me so much hope, i’m not only legally blind but i also suffer from some other disability’s and seeing you and how much positivity you have and how you’re living a fairly normal life just makes me believe so can i.
yesterday i attempted to bring my service dog to an appointment with me by taking public transit. they would not allow my dog to get in with me and told me i either had to leave the dog home or not take the ride. i tried explaining that she was my service dog but they still did not care. i had to miss an appointment that was super important, because i could not bring my dog. i got home and cried.
You don't deserve to be treated like that, you should report the service, it's illegal to discriminate against disabled people.
As sorry as I am about that, what if someone on that public transit was allergic to dogs? People with severe allergies don't want to die on their way to wherever
Karina Shank you do realize it was illegal not to let them get on that bus with their service dog right? , i get people have allergies but someone who MIGHT have an allergy is not more important that someones mobility
Karina Shank It’s the same as saying the guy in the wheelchair at my college can’t ride the bus system to the main campus because he’s in the wheelchair. The bus system has a lift for him that they take the time to open up and allow him on. They could say “it takes too long” and not do it and drive off. But they don’t. And if we can accommodate for someone like that then we can surely let a service dog onto a bus.

i related to this video a lot. i’m not blind, but i have had type 1 diabetes for half my life now. i’m 15. living with a life threatening disease is part of my life- and it definitely doesn’t make things easier. i related to you saying you don’t like to talk about the downside of your disability because you don’t want pity. there have been many times where i just want to complain about being diabetic without people saying they’re sorry for me.

Molly should get a personal protection dog so she could be walking down the street like a badass with 2 dogs. That both would serve a good purpose. Because it is unlikely that gallop could be trained to protect molly in the way that a protection dog like a German Shepherd could. But I understand having 2 dogs would be more of a drag than be helpful. Just a fun thought.
I suggest Molly to take a personal defence course also for disabled people, there are some tips easily usable by anyone! For example, being deaf, I do karaté! This can give you more security inside and outside! =)

She could have a service dog that does her normal stuff but also knows bluff techniques. Like a service dog needs to be friendly so don't teach it attacks, but growling, barking, and "on guard" commands would likely be enough to scare people away.

In 2011 you came to Minnesota to We Day. You told us a story when you broke your leg and a group of girls left you there in the woods, alone. I was in 9th grade at the time and to this day I still think about that story. Whenever I talk about bullying to the kids I coach or the preschoolers I teach, that story pops in my head. You are such a strong woman. I cried when you told that story, and I get chocked up when I see you now, living an amazing life! You are strong, beautiful, and brave. Thank you for giving people power and guidance.
My LEAST favorite thing is that people fake having service dogs CONSTANTLY! It’s so rude and annoying and I can’t believe people do it with so much insensitivity to people who actually need a dog, especially when you LITERALLY CANT SEE! At my mom’s work so many people come in with dogs and claim they’re service dogs so her boss has to allow them in her business when they really aren’t, and it’s ridiculous to me that people do things like that.

I understand what you mean by saying people treat you differently. I wear hearing aids and I can get by without people knowing I have a disability but when they find out along the line, I notice they treat me like I am different, although nothing has changed. I am still the same person, but the knowledge of my disability changes how they look at me.

People get treated terribly for such dumb reasons. I have autism, not in an agressive way and I'm so called "high functioning". It's such a small and unimportant thing, but whenever It comes up or someone from healthcare reads that, from that point on they treat me like I'm 5.
Any Uber driver that denies you because of your service dog is breaking the law. Received a message when they signed up saying that they cannot deny you for that reason. The only people who might legit have a reason are the ones who are deathly afraid of dogs
Or have a really bad allergy. Cause when they are crying, itching, coughing lungs out. Would render them unable to do their job safely

However, if you are genuinely afraid of dogs or you are severely allergic to dogs, to the point that you're a danger to the owner of the dog; most people would rather you just tell them that rather than say "Oh hey, no dogs allowed, service animal or not, my problems are more important. Bye!"
If they have a real problem (ex. deathly allergic reaction) they could prob. communicate with a colleague to give the person a ride
@@vivienmajor7637 i drive with uber. There's no communication like that. They hardly have good communication for employees when things are going wrong. The best i would know to do would be to cancel the trip at no cost to the passenger and send uber a message explaining why. But im not the type to say no to ppls dogs. I let some ppl bring their puppy once... too cute!

Thank you, I am glad you posted this video. It is sad that this is the reality. That sometimes good people get hurt. And many have to be on the look out for danger. That even just as a young sighted college girl, I have to be extra cautious. I shouldn’t have to feel scared walking to my car in a parking lot at night just because I needed to grab a few groceries after the sun goes down. And I can’t imagine how many times scarier it is by not having one of the primary ways of knowing if there’s danger. Stay safe, Molly! Stay safe, girls! Stay safe, everyone. Molly, since watching your videos, now when i see a blind person i no longer think “ugh that must suck”...after seeing your videos i think “hmm, i wonder what wonderful things that person has overcome or accomplished in their lifetime”. Thank you for changing my perspective on blind people.

i wonder does gallop also act as a guard dog for you if you are in danger? not only from on coming traffic but also from people that appear to be dangerous?
I'm curious about this too. I think service dogs aren't supposed to have much contact with other people so I wonder if that would delay any response. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
Service dogs cannot have an ounce of aggression. Puppies that display any aggression are released before formal training. Imagine the headline "Guide Dog bites child", service animals would be banned everywhere regardless of who was at fault.
Service dogs aren’t trained to be protection dogs. Legally, a protection dog is not considered a service dog and if it acts aggressively, that’s when businesses have to right to remove Molly and her service dog.
While service dogs shouldn't be aggressive, they do have to have a deep bond with their owner. My guess is that he'd protect her
S Kani about the traffic thing, it the handler commands the dog to walk across the road when it is unsafe most guide dogs are taught to refuse to move across the road when they see danger in the traffic
Molly is so beautiful and kind and it's so upsetting that people would discriminate against her and make her disability harder to deal with by having fake guide dogs or something else like that.

Being blind should never be bad thing in life. When I was younger I had both of my corneas burned from an explosion so I spent a few weeks with my eyes covered. I regained my eyesight but it gave me some insight to in my opinion of being blind for a short time made me use my ears & fingers to sense what was going around me. Some people say using your fingers & not your eyes to visualize what a person looks like is better because you're feeling with your heart more than just what people normally judge people just by their looks. When you judge people only by their looks you're not judging them by what really matters & you must judge a person for what's in their heart to truly love someone. Molly you're one of the lucky one's who can see a person the way God sees people the way we all should see people. The world would be a better place if we think from our heart's more often.

@@danielamolina9411 It's just the truth threw personal experience. When I was 16 I broke my back in two places & learn how to walk again. I had bone cancer at 18 & lost my eyesight at age 24 for a couple of weeks. It's all how you look at life & how much faith you have that helps the most in life.
You were blind for a few WEEKS. That is not the same. I’m legally blind and my vision is still declining every year. It is horrible to not be able to see my boyfriend’s face even sometimes and knowing that one day I may never see it again. I was temporarily fully blind as a kid after surgery and it does not compare. Because it was temporary.
Molly isn’t getting hers back, neither are most other blind people. I can’t drive. I can’t work my dream job. My neck hurts from trying to read. My head hurts from my eyes desperately straining to try and focus. I’d rather chop my arms off than lose my vision. It’s terrifying.
The best you can do is try to accept it and adapt. But it isn’t a good thing. Blind people aren’t LUCKY.
Anyone can judge someone by their personality and not by their looks. You don’t have to be blind to do that. So she’s lucky because she’s forced to not judge someone’s appearance? She can’t. She also can’t judge if a situation is safe, visually. She can’t see nature. She can’t see the stars. It’s not a fucking good thing just because of your pseudo deep bullshit.
@@melty6307 In no way at all could I compare the situations of Molly's or yours. I was only blind for two weeks. I had surgery & got better but in that 2 weeks it made me really appreciate life. There's an old saying you truly can't understand what a person is going threw unless you step into their shoes. I would never want anyone to go threw what I've been threw in life. I had to learn how to walk again when I was 16 years old . I went threw chemotherapy when I was 18 years old. My dad was murdered when I was 24 years old & 2 weeks before I was 25 I was shot in the leg & lost my eyesight when an explosive went off near me. Yes I'm grateful everyday of all the surgeries I've been threw but most of all the people I've meet a long the way. They were way worse off than myself & threw it all they kept a positive attitude. It's hard to put a list of top ten worse things to happen in life. I still talk to my friends from when I was in Iraq & some still haven't received a prostatic leg or arm. The fact that so many people get hurt & die for freedom in America is one of the saddest things in this world. People that haven't been threw any type of tragedy in their lives are the lucky one's but they don't understand or can't understand what so many people go threw. It's almost impossible to get disability or a guide dog in America unless know how to get around the failing governmental system of ours. What does it take to help the people in America that really need the help? I'm sorry if in any way I offended you but we all have our own thoughts & ideas for better or worse. In America, United We Stand!

I think it's really important that you're making videos like that it's not about getting pity at all but it's about educating the public and teaching us how we can be better humans. that statistic is terrifying as a young woman myself I can't imagine having to go out and always be thinking about that and knowing that I could be targeted because of my vulnerability. You have really opened my eyes about what it is like to live with blindness (pun unintended) and although I love your positivity, it is also important to get educated about the challenges! Yesterday I went to a brand new library around my home town and got excited seeing that they had all the signs brailled everywhere 🤗❤️

I think you are truly inspiring and I admire you endlessly! I don’t know if this has ever been brought up to you but when it comes to your dog- I honestly wouldn’t pick you up if I was uber driver because I’m highly allergic. It gets hard for me to breathe. In fact, all I could think of in your video about flying with him was what if I was in the next seat. I would’ve had to move. The reason I’m saying this is- and I rarely post anything on RUclips is because I don’t want you to feel always like people are being prejudice when it comes to you with him. In fact, when I stay in NY and shop in supermarkets I always make sure I have anti-bacterial wipes on me because of the dogs (they are allowed everywhere). I’m not saying all uber drivers are all allergic, I’m just telling you not to assume it’s about you. Keep on being such an inspiration and a kick in the ass to people like me who like to complain about everything! Lol!!
I think it’s one of your best videos, because it’s shows us the problems in the society. Not only the positive videos can change stereotypes- this video shows the barriers the SOCIETY puts on people with blindness, and that can change the stigma too. The sighted people (like me) understand more about the society that way.
I understand its hard but you know you are an inspiration to the community who are blind as well. Because my best friend is blind she thought she was the only one going through everything. I told her about you and she listened to this and she realized how to love herself. It is what makes you so unique
All of these things are so true! I hate that we have to go through these things as blind individuals, but seeing that someone else completely understands makes me, and I’m sure others not feel so alone.

It's awful... I watched a man hit a disabled man with a truck right before Christmas and it was completely avoidable as well as he clearly did it on purpose.. some people suck(if you care the man is ok just a broken hip ..ik that's all I cared about)

I feel you on the service dog thing Molly! I am not visually impaired or blind I have a PSD (psychiatric service dog) & it's so frustrating having invisible illnesses & even though you are blind I think it can still be considered an invisible illnesses because if someone just looked at you quickly they would not know you were blind,unless they watch you for a certain amount of time. & Myself people always assume I'm training him for another person & it frustrates me because it makes me feel like people really have no idea that disabilities don't have a "look" like people hear disabled & they think someone in a wheelchair or missing a limb,things like that. & not that I want people to look at me as disabled but not to assume that because I can walk and "look" fine that I and others like me can't benefit from extra help from like a service dog! Keep being you Molly! 💙

2, 3, 4, and 6 are super relatable to me as a physically disabled woman with cerebral palsy, especially 6. Sometimes, I just wish I could get ready on my own because it would be so much quicker than waiting for somebody but I can't. Thank you for being so real and candid.
you can read pdf, go to View > Read Out Loud > Activate Read Out Loud. When you select text it wil read it out loud.

Just had to try it, and wow, it actually works! Not that I need it, I'm sighted, but it's good to know. Hope Molly reads it!
Unfortunately, it only works with "good" pdf files. If you have one of those crappy versions, where it's just a copy print from a text book or similar, where the pages are wonky and even sighted people might have trouble reading it, it won't work. It only works if you are able to actually mark the text, which to my knowledge only works if the pdf is converted from a word document or similar.
So that might be what she refers to.. That many pdf's won't be "readable". Most of the pdf's I receive at uni are scans from book, and if I want to highlight some text, I have to draw lines in the document. So I can't imagine any program being able to read the text out loud unless it's hyper-intelligent :)

I am not disabled whatsoever- but the abuse one... this is why I hate going up to the counter to buy something that my mom wanted while she was looking for something “real quick,” or when my dad’s talking to someone and my mom’s in the bathroom- I’m not gonna talk to these people! Or when I’m somewhere with my friend or parent and they tell me to “stay there” and I don’t hear them and I keep walking and lose them. The topic was very important. I may be young, but even I know to be safe.
I'm crying so hard listening to this, you are speaking my exact life. The struggle of blind life is so real. Not being able to see faces and missing face expressions and body language, having to rely on others etc. Makes me so depressed.
I know that statistic (about disability and assault) and my mom is disabled and it scares me all the time bc I was assaulted and I'm totally able bodied in every way. As a sighted person I am always terrified of sexual assault, rape, or abuse. It is my absolute biggest fear. 1/3 women are raped and that absolutely terrifies me and forces me to live in fear. But I could never imagine being blind in this situation. I can’t give you enough admiration for being so strong and so inspiring in this situation. You take your disability and use it to improve the world and raise awareness! You are such an amazing person, I love you sooo much!

I'm so glad you brought up your last point. I had a friend of mine go through abuse as she was growing up and she got one of the rare opportunities to see inside the mind of an abuser. He had said he chose disabled women, Especially disabled children because they were so much easier to victimize. They have to rely on people so heavily and when it came to children, their parents were just relieved to be given a moment from having to care for their child, that they were more trusting and ultimately grateful that someone was helping them care for their kids. It still breaks my heart to think about.
Thank you for educating us Molly! I had no idea so many were unemployed and when you brought up the sexual assault, my heart broke. Stay safe and strong ladies and gents! Unfortunately it's not just the people with disabilities who have to keep it in the back of their head everywhere we go. It's sad...it breaks my heart..it terrifies me.
