My all-time favorite song, consistently stated since a few days or weeks after September 23, 1977

Your taste is impeccable. I got "Deacon Blues" tenor sax player Pete Christlieb to sign my 1977 "Aja" album jacket when I met him at Gresham, Oregon's Mt. Hood Jazz Festival in the mid-'80s. He also played tenor sax on their 1978 hit single "FM."

I wanted to hear this for a long time. Fagen loses the lyrics for a bit, but I imagine this was one of the first times this was played live.

Went to most of these Lone Star shows from late 1989-1992. Was mind blowing after the 15 year live drought . First couple of shows Fagen just played melodica with his back to the audience and played no Steely stuff . Then Black Friday … Chain Lighting after that . Walter came out of exile and the rest was living a dream .
