If this song isn’t the gods honest truth I don’t know what is! “What makes you a man is being true to her til your glass runs out of sand” one of the best lines ever!
I'm only 15, but i can still really relate through this song, I've been through a lot and forced to grow up a lot sooner than my younger siblings, because I can actualy remember our past and they can't.
Probably the best song about life that I have heard in my 64 years. And, exquisite melody and guitar playing. If I could nominate this song for a Grammy I would do it in a heartbeat. Can't believe this song was not originally one of the selections for the album.
I'm also 64 and agree that this is one of the best songs I've heard! I love the guitar music, his voice, the tune, and the words. That about sums it all up!
"Sometimes wrong is right." So much said with four little words. Eric is a silver tongued lyric master. I'm not religious but I go to Church everyday 😉
When my son graduated from high school, I gave him a print of these lyrics. It's the best advice I could ever give him through the words of Eric Church.
One of the perfect songs that Church sings. So true to life, live, laugh and love like there's no tomorrow, let those you love know you love them and don't ever forget that. Enjoy the moment because it may be your last. Love the music. 💖💕❤️
After reading these comments I’ve learned how so many people need to learn that not everyone is going to agree with you and see eye to eye but that doesn’t change how you should treat someone they are human too the different viewpoints in people is what makes this country so great if everyone agreed on everything there wouldn’t need to be democracy just learn to get along and put your differences aside after all we’re all in this together
It’s about how we learn the lessons of life. You may not be able to use each piece of advice you're given now, but the most important ones will stick. Great song.
Beautiful, simple, powerful, song full of Life's wisdom. "Some of it you learn the hard way, Some of it you read on a page, Some of it comes with heartache, Most of it comes with age. And none of it ever comes easy A bunch of it you maybe can't use I know I don't probably know what I think I do But there's somethin' to Some of it." I'm 47 years old, and I can really understand & relate to this song. It speaks to my heart and my life experiences. Thanks and God bless you, Eric Church 😇🤠😃🙏🏻
This is one of the few songs that brings a year literally Everytime I hear it. I sent this to my parents to thank them for the advice and wisdom they've shared. And I'm sad not to have children to Share it with
“No you don’t to do something’s Again” “is being TRUE to her til your glass runs out of sand” Love her well because she loves you with her every breath!

I heard this song on the radio driving home from the market August of 2019. I didn't know they name of the song or the artist. I called my daughters and tifethercwe figured it out. This WASCTHE last conversation I had with my first born child, Delana, she passed a few days later of heart failure. This song will always be fir her. I am so glad it made it into the album. ❤️
If this song doesn't say what life's all about I don't know what will! Eric Church is a great artist, sings many meaningful songs really enjoy his music. Thanks for Some of it.
Lord God this song. I LIST MY BELOVED DAUGHTER AT 34 YOUNG YEARS OF AGE..THIS SONG IS THAT MARK IN MY LIFE ..YET THE WORDS , SO TRUE,SO COMFORTING YET SOME SO PAINFUL. WE BOTH LOVED COUNRTY MUSIC..THANK YOU ERIC...
This the most true to life, heart felt song of maybe this decade! I would not have expected this after hearing smoke a little smoke which was great too! Eric Church knocked the ball out of the park with one!
I absolutely love this. I love all of Eric Church's music but this song has really touched my soul. Keep up what you're doing Eric,The world is a better place with people like you in it. ❤
The chief from bad boy rebel talking about growing up hard to the chief being a family man teaching wisdom and facts of life. Doesn't get any more country than him.!
There are people who call this "not country"? Under what definition could people call this guy not country? There's a lot of songs labeled as country nowadays that don't sound a damn thing like country to my (admittedly inexperienced) ears, but Eric Church is nowhere near any of that.
Leafia Barrett I’m not sure why people think he’s not country, but there are people that have said it. I can almost guarantee that those people also said that Old Town Road IS country, even though it most certainly is not.
I dont like this song mostly because it sounds the same as other meaningless country songs and the lyrics are just basic things about life that everyone knows (Ex. Nobody wins in a fight) but that's just my opinion
Beyond out standing. All of this gift to share, Thank you Mr. Church, your family, your band , Superior. And I support the team to make it happen. Like to see and experience your God given gifts, No one , and I mean it, can hold a candle near Yas. Want to experance and absorbe everything at the Pepsi center in Denver. I live in Canon City Colorado, nope can't afford a ticket, Yet I have most of your music and decent headphones. All of you, be safe, and cherish The Lord's will, Jesus Christ apparently has a big loving hand for you all. Enjoy the Many blessings , and gee whiz, take care of yourself and voice. Thank you Mr Church.
For a country music traditionalist, it takes a little while to decipher Eric Church, but once you do there's no holding back. This song is unquestionably his best of the best of the best. Must've listened to this a hundred times! Best wishes on a long and fruitful career, Eric. Much love from faraway Bomaby.
Amazing song, the lyrics, music , and of course Eric...in a word - PERFECT! I'll be 55 in 6 weeks, and the older you get the samd does move through the glass oh so much I'll be 55 in 6 weeks, and the older you get, the sand moves through the glass oh so much faster. But with age comes patience and wisdom. If I knew what I know now when I was 25, 35, or even 45 - it wouldn't matter... I wouldn't change a thing. All our choices, everything we do, and our experiences, make us who we are. I'm good with that & I'm more than good with who I am!

And if you've been true to her and yourself and it still doesn't work out, you've still been the man.
I absolutely love this tune. It's the truth.
This is one of those songs that will be good forever
The older you are the more you should like this song........If you've lived life and struggled and then overcame the lows, this hits home!
Lyrics are amazing... no doubt man
