    I think accumulating as much wealth as possible and fast by any legal means available should be everyone's priority . Times are changing and in the future it could be more difficult to make a decent living from just their jobs

    I’m starting my RA investment but I wasn’t sure but thanks for this video I think I’m gonna start with the coronation strategic income 😊coz the bundles I’m not sure how they work 😢 and there’s a few unit trusts showing in my portfolio for RA

      Honestly in my opinion Coronation Strategic Income is an awesome option! I would highly recommend it. There is stable less risk share price growth and the dividends right now are really great! You can also invest in it on the Tax free section of easy equities, which is where I have mine. It is a great place to start, and as you learn more, you can do more :) !

    Hi Chris, thank you for the informative videos. My wife recently bought 8 shares of Realty income. It has been three months now and is yet to receive any dividends. What could be the reason? Where does inquire?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  Год назад

      Hey there, that definitely should not be the case. The best bet would be to speak to EasyEquities. I have never heard of that, but I am receiving my dividends every month. Definitely chat to them and I am sure they will be able to help. Let me know if you do not come right

      Just check your Dividends payment settings also.I think it's automatically reinvested into your investment. So if you want it to pay out as cash you need to change that.

    When you you buy 2k shares how much divident you'll get a month?

    • @hopedladla3569
      @hopedladla3569 Год назад +3

      Depends on the number of shares you have and payout the company will make. Lets say you own 30 shares on shoprite shares then shoprite pays out R2 per share. You will say 30 shares x R2= R60 divident

    • @hopedladla3569
      @hopedladla3569 Год назад

      And its not monthly, jse companies dont pay dividends monthly. But you can invest in companies that will pay you dividends in each of their dividends payout. Eg Shoprite January, Nedbank-February….

    Awesome video. Thank you for creating this piece.
    I just want to get your thoughts, what are you looking at to determine on picking a share. I know in this video the theme is passive income but is high dividend yield the only and main factor one looks at?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  Год назад +2

      Awesome question, and a very important question. Because no, high dividend yield is not the only or main factor. Essentially you are looking at both dividend yield, and of course the share price growth. I like to look for companies with good long term share price growth, and a decent dividend yield. So if you go to "Google Finance" and search a company, then look at their graph on "Max" it will show the long term share price growth. If that looks good, and the dividends looks good it is a promising sign. Although even shares that dont pay a dividend can be a good investment. It is a large topic which will take some to cover. But to answer your question, high dividend yield is not the only thing. You also have to look at share price so you do not lose your capital investment :) The money you spent.

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  Год назад +2

      Thank you! Yes definitely. I have had a few requests on that topic. There are two kinds of books in my opinion, those of inspiration and information. Inspiration is to get you motivated, and for that I would recommend "Losing my Virginity by Richard Branson" and "Shoe Dog, by Phil Knight (the Nike Story)". For information, the one book which will probably help you the most on your investment journey is "The Snowball Effect by Warren Buffet". :)

    I have a question 🙋‍♂️.. is it advisable to DCA with large amounts e.g six figures or is DCA only for small amounts..?!

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  Год назад +3

      That's a good question, but I guess it is all relative really. A "small" amount to a billionaire is different to you and me. I know a RUclipsr in the USA who DCAs with $200 (R3.8K) every single day no matter what. Thats R114K a month, R1.4M a year.
      I think the basic premise, is that whatever you have to invest, be it big or small. Is that it should be spread out. So you don't invest too much the day before a crash for example. Or you invest so much at once that you can't take advantage of low prices after a crash... The main premise of DCA is to spread out risk, I think the amount is relative 😊👍

    im from south africa , whats your take on Crypto?

    • @CasualCash
      @CasualCash  Год назад +3

      I've had crypto in the past. I'll be honest I have difficulty with crypto. Just because it is so speculative. There is not much in terms of underlying assets. Like properties or products or platforms etc. So its value is purely supply and demand. Whereas companies you can track income and earnings and dividends etc. I think there is value in crypto, and if you know the market you can make money. But its hard to quantify its value as it depends on demand.
      What are your views? Is it something I should be looking at more?

      Sad but dividend tax at 20% is quite high and tax on Reits at your marginal tax rate is even depressing. However you have to change your mindset and just be prepared to earn for the govt as well. Wish the tax free annual limit will increase substantially.
