I've cooked this Dish many many times professionally. In Scotland on the East Coast. I'm also Scottish. The Cullen Skink liquor should be no thicker than whole milk. In other words there is no thickeners added only the potatoes. If the potatoes aren't over cooked you'll get very little starch released. The Skink you're eating is cooked classically.
had this dish at the ‘Plough’ in Basted Kent nr BoroughGreen… landlord (Ben McConnachie) is Scottish & knows how to look after customers. well worth a visit! good beers, good food, good service.
Nice for the legend that was Keith Floyd to get a mention too. Met him in his restaurant in Devon many years ago. He appeared at the urinal beside me. Normally, I don't chat in that situation, but I made an exception! Top bloke. Even washed his hands before the hand shake 😂
Have to agree with some of my fellow Scots on here Gary in that the Cullen Skink was very traditionally made, with a milky consistency which is perfect👍. I love Rick Stein so wish I could visit there😊
As for the thinness of Cullen Skink soup, yes, it can be thin, but it also depends on the type of potato used to cook it. I prefer to use floury "tatties" such as Maris Piper or King Edward potatoes, which can thicken it up a bit. Coming from a Scotsman that grew up in a town 12 miles from Cullen

I loved Keith Floyd, too! He was very clever and quirky but truly knew his way around the kitchen. Rick is also a favourite. I wrote to him a couple times as his dog, Chalky, was related to mine! I have signed photos (complete with a paw print) from them, tucked away in one of his cook books! The food looked good - I think I would've picked the same things as you, in that set menu, though the lemon tart that went with the bottom options would also have appealed! Again, a fantastic vlog and brilliant review. Your style of presentation is great, so please don't change. Definitely my favourite food reviewer now - you don't complicate things with fancy language or fluff it out to lessen the times when things aren't so great! Thank you! xx
Glad you enjoyed your visit Gary. Place used to be called The Depot and had been there more than 25 years. Rick famously never wanted to open a London restaurant, so it had to take a place of such location and calibre to change his mind! My family and I can only afford to eat there on special occasions, but when we do we always push the boat out (pun intended! 😉) and go for the expensive seafood options, coz...when in Rome eh?! That includes having a cheeky bottle of wine which is always expertly selected and recommended by the staff and Rick's own son! Had probably the best sherry trifle I will ever taste in my entire life on one birthday visit. I still speak of it to this day, while gazing longingly at the photo I took! 😋

So I think 8/10 is fair. Mark.

Another great review. Thanks Gary. I'm glad you mentioned Keith Floyd. What a character. Somewhere in my house I've got his book 'Floyd on Fish'. I don't think I ever made any of the recipes but it's worth reading just for his asides. You can imagine them in his voice with the accompanying mannerisms. In the intro to one- and bear in mind the cultural references pertain to 1984- he says something like "this is a dish that you might even persuade your orange haired kids to eat, if you can get them out of their bedrooms where they're listening to Headache 100".
Hi Gary, looked like a pretty good dining experience. Yes, I've always loved Rick Stein's TV programs. You get a lot more than great food. You get Rick reading Thomas Hardy poems, excerpts from novels, and the culture and history of the places he visits. Spain and the story of El Cid comes first to mind. A great man, much loved by his fans who number in the millions. When I was a kid, I'd sit myself down on the couch, mum's terrific Sri Lankan curry on my lap, and watch Keith Floyd, imagining I was having some of that rare-vintage French red he was quaffing. What an extraordinary man ! He seemed to have such a pleasant nature. ( I have to figure out how to get onto Telegram today ) . My score was 9/10. Thanks Gary. Another fine noshery you got us into !

I always enjoy the way Rick Stein combines literature wuth food. He'll read a poem or a passage from a novel to put the dish into historical context. I find the mix of history and food fascinating.
Ive had traditional Cullen Skink many times and it is supposed to be quite thin, to me that was a perfect example and looked delicious, those fishcakes did look a little bit small but I suppose the fact there was three of them made it suffice, I really did like the look of them and OMG that sticky toffee pudding with cornish clotted cream, Heaven on a plate, I think all in all considering it is a high end Restaurant value wise it was spot on, compare to the infamous Tom Kerridge Fish and Chips debackle and this wins hands down, Personally I would mark it 9 out of 10, really enjoyed this review Gary, regards Gav
Keith Floyd was the best for me an absolute legend, got to admit Rick stein is the best tv chef on tv today by far haven't got time for the other celebrity chefs, the meal looked good the soup looked perfect to me as i don't like thick soups i much prefer a broth type soup or a beef consommé, fish cakes looked a decent portion alas I'm not a fishy man so in my case i wouldn't have ordered the starter or mains but the pud looked brill, and the location was fab, great review as normal 8 was a good score i think a 9 would have been fairer but you were there so i take your word for it, another gem thanks Gary.
Three great plates of food and an idyllc location on the river. You mentioned the mussels as a starter. As a huge seafood fan, that would have caught my eye. Whilst I love a sticky toffee pud, I think I would have opted for the the ginger pudding, as long as it had a decent kick of ginger to it.
Another classy looking place with great looking dishes. But haddock starter, haddock mains?!?! I too thought the soup far too thin, that's not the way i've had/seen it in the past. And on (my) screen, the fishcakes looked a good size, and with there being 3. But didn't look like there was enough sauce to go around. And STP, you can't go wrong, ha. PS, scratch the starter/main comment, I once had chicken livers, followed by calves liver. The tum wants what the tum wants eh 🙂
Rick Stein. What a gentleman. Loved his programme’s for years. His son (can’t remember his name) was/ is also a cook and a fine one too. Unfortunately ended up under the father’s shadow and never became a Rick. Kieth however was a genius. Great video guys. 👍
I enjoyed watching Keith Floyd you were always guaranteed a laugh, the director David Pritchard died 4 yrs ago now January 2019. Rick Stein is also very watchable, good review as always , take care Gary, , Gareth
Gary ,Rick typifies everything I've said ,having said that he is one of the more likeable guys in the catering business but like most has lost his way to greed ,not the same intentions when he started out 40 years ago
I visited Rick Stein’s cookery school in Padstow many years ago with my brother which was a Christmas present from my husband. We had a great few days and the booze was definitely flowing as was the food ! It was definitely an experience. I was surprised you ordered two smoked haddock dishes. Great vlog as always
Loved Floyd as I do Stein .. was gifted a trip to UK from Australia and I loved both places thanks for your time and reviews .. unfortunately I’ll probably not going back to UK .. hopefully I will
He has a restaurant here in Poole, in Sandbanks, the very expensive bit of Poole where all the houses overlooking Poole Bay look like they were made in Minecraft. The restaurant is also very expensive and mediocre at best, but it's much loved by the sort of person who really, really wants to be allowed into the golf club.
Lol I know what you mean about Minecraft, I went in one about a year ago, was pretty unusual inside too, felt like I was in a rich serial killers house 🤣 ….cool to see the sea looking either way from inside the house though 👍
@GaryEats minecraft is a popular building and crafting game where the whole world is made out of blocks. i guess what the op is saying is that the architecture isn't that impressive lol.
@@RUclips-Censorship-Police I am not familiar with Minecraft (I sort of worked out it was a computer game) either apart from heard the name - I just assumed it meant it was like some AI artificial game where everything was picture postcard perfect nothing out of place like in the movies.
I was in Falmouth a few years ago and fancied some fish and chips so I headed to Stein's chippy. I got as far as the price list and turned around. I recall it was about £18 for the basic cod and chips. Robbing bastard.
Fkin hell mate the average price of a half decent chippy is between 9 and 13 quid in the UK so at a place like that not that bad really is it. Especially of its nice nothing wrong with it once in a while
Gary love your reviews always makes me feel hungry! Always very honest and informative. Your mention of the legend Keith Floyd brought back memories thanks , keep it up.
Well done Gary Lad, decent looking food. Quite expensive but if you’re getting quality then it’s value for money. The problem with Steins restaurant in Padstow is there’s so many better, cheaper options available.
Met Keith floyd in Cardiff circa 1983....I asked him if he wasn't drinking wine what was his other favourite tipple ? He replied "Simple old chap, Newcastle brown ale...guaranteed to get you pissed." Ps the Cullen skink was too thin 😢 Pps The good the bad and the ugly...Rick Stein, Harvey Weinstein and Frankenstein 😂
This was an especially interesting chapter to watch. As much as I love watching Gary eat various breakfasts, watching this complete seafood dinner with its variety of ingredients was even more interesting. The eggs with the fish cakes were a very unusual combination.
Hi Gary, you're travelling to Padstow to try Rick Steins fish and chips? Please use this as a benchmark - 5 out of 10, poor. I'm down there every year. They're really not great.
One aspect I like about your channel is the intro and outro. Barnes is such a lovely part of London, definitely one of my favourites. Wish I could afford to live there lol Another delightful review!
Sorry as a Cornishman I would not set foot in one of his establishments. Liked what he did back in the 90s and even bought one of his early books then. Wonder if Rick prepared your plate Gary? Or was he back in Australia.
Ah man, keith Floyd, what a man, a pleasure to watch. Rick Stein, I love his programs, food, and travel. The food looked great, fish cakes that aren't all mash .... yum. I'd have had the ginger pudding cos I'm a ginger fiend 😂 Expensive restaurant, but ah man, once In a while why not 😊 looked worth it. Excellent video mate 😊😊 an 8.5 for me.
I'm dropping a 9 on this one. The combined portion size looked about substantial. Quality was definitely all over it. Price was acceptable. The soup was too watery, in my opinion, as well. The dessert absolutely carried this through for a solid, if not perfect, score.
The soup doesn’t have to be thick (I am Scottish) just full of flavour. I was actually impressed with the fish cakes as you had three! Normally only two are served and they may be a bit larger but cool quickly once opened and I like food to be at least warm. Am absolutely green with envy as far as the sticky toffee pudding is concerned! You’re one lucky lad!
Love the programme Gary. Went home to visit my mum for a week as she has been unwell and we've watched around 30 videos. We have thoroughly enjoyed your reviews. Keep up the good work!
Hi Gary, food looked great but i agree the sauce could have been thicker, i actually sat next to Rick Stein on a flight from Bangkok to Chiang Mai in Thailand some years ago when he was filming for his book The Far Eastern Odyssey. Really nice chap and very approachable, i do love his food channels but never made it to any of his restaurants yet, cheers and thanks, very enjoyable.
Hi I'm Laura from shropshire .you mentioned my dear late mother's favourite TV chef kieth Floyd .he used to get more and more drunk lol with his wine .she loved him .❤live your channel so much .❤
Yes all looked very nice..i wasnt sure about the soup thickness..not my bag im afraid....i love a fish cake on creamy cheesey mash..nom...ty for sharing Gary..great watch as per 🎉 ( deffo Mr M's food won it for me)
Love watching Rick Stein's programmes, and the old re-runs of Keith Floyd. Glad you've gone to a "posh" restaurant for a change, and shown everyone that they often do cheaper set menus, especially at lunch times. I went to The Cross at Kenilworth and was blown away at how good their lunch set menu was, and whilst an expensive treat, the bill wasn't as scary as I assumed it would be.
Keith is my all time favorite chef and he was quite big in Sweden when his show was first shown in the early 90/s! Of course another great review, Gary and the food was obviously great.
Hello from New Zealand. Love your videos Gary. We've been to Rick Stein's seafood restaurant in Cornwall 3 times, first visit was 2014 and it was absolutely fantastic. We took our son in 2019 and what a disappointment, it was so bad that we said we'd never go back again 😢I'd love you to review that restaurant even though I know you said you were going to try his fish and chips in Padstow. Interesting fact, Rick lived here in New Zealand back in the day! 😊 Keep up the great work, you're the best ❤
Floyd: A brilliant cook and presenter, such passion and unselfconscious humour, with his hand rarely more than inch or so away from a large glass of red!
Great video again!! Like you i'm an absolute Rick Stein fan boy, BUT.....all of his places always massively overcharge dining out on the name, particularly in Padstein, he's basically a chain now like The Ivy etc but due his large approachable tv presence he will always have a conga line of unsuspecting tourists, but that's where we are in hospitality at the moment, also at those prices, the main needed a lemon wedge! :D :D :D ooking forward to the next one! GM Rich
Hi Gary, I like it that you are becoming more diverse in your choice of restaurants and dishes you choose, also it’s interesting to see a starter and a pudding.
I’ve been to Stein’s restaurant in Padstow, and was extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. I do like him as a person, and that’s why I’m happy you enjoyed the food here. Another great review, mate. Cheers!
Yeah definitely agree with you gary about the soup and fishcakes. Mind you it looked absolutely delicious mate. And the sticky toffee pudding looked to die for. Great review gary 👏
That is very impressive. The set menu price is excellent. The restaurant is excellent. Well done Rick Stein. Now if I could only get there from Australia, that would be excellent also.😅
A lovely restaurant in a beautiful area. The skink did look a tad watery, however for those who know their Scottish soup it would seem that the consistency was correct. I believe you Gary when ypu say this was flavoursome. The fishcakes were possibly something I would have chosen. The eggs that accompanied them looked mouthwatering. The S T Pudding and especially the clotted cream!!!!! Yum, yum, yum. That was a nice review Gary. Relaxed, nice food, friendly efficient service. Thank you once again Gary.🎉 😊👏👏👏👏 I'll be looking out for you on your next venture!!
Great food with Rick Stein - stayed at his hotel in Padstow for three days and ate his restaurant food, amazing. I even did the cookery course there on the quayside and had a great time learning lots of new skills. The best recipes were the sambal and then the emulsified spicy guacamole. 😎
Sticky toffee pudding had me salivating Gary lol. Floyd on food was a great show..glad you brought that up in your review. Look forward to the padstow segment soon. 8/10... pudding 10/10.

Went to a book signing by Keith Floyd in the 80s.
He'd had a drink but a perfect gentleman. RIP " Dear Boy " ( as he would have said ! )
I agree Nicholas RIP 🍷🍷

Thank you for the advice and my apologies, when I’ve had it before in Scotland 🏴 it was thicker 🤷♂️

Cheers 🍻 Gave all round good meal not brilliant but enjoyed it loads 👍
Thank you as always Harold the meal was good but not exceptional hence my score 👍
I jus5 wanted to see what the set menu looked like on this occasion and will be trying seafood soon 👍
No I can’t let the comment go as you are completely right, my mistake. However I’m pleased you done the same lol 😂. Take care and see you soon 👍
I loved Keith Floyd he was always pissed out of his head 😂😂.
I loved him too 🍷🍷
Naaah - the kitchen was pissed, not him 😂.
He was a great guy, I loved him too.
He loved a glass of vino
Lovely guy yeah
you are my favourite youtuber! love your heartwarming content. this is what we need in such a gloomy world. thank you!
Thanks so much Charles. Means a lot you think that. Thanks for the comment and have a lovely weekend!
Rick Stein. What a gentleman. Loved his programme’s for years. His son (can’t remember his name) was/ is also a cook and a fine one too. Unfortunately ended up under the father’s shadow and never became a Rick. Kieth however was a genius. Great video guys. 👍
Thank you Phillip, Keith was my absolute favourite a real character 🍷🍷
Looking good Gary 💯 , have you had work done recently?
No I’m not that vain lol 😂
@@GaryEats all the same, we watched this video with friends and all agreed you're looking magnificent
I enjoyed watching Keith Floyd you were always guaranteed a laugh, the director David Pritchard died 4 yrs ago now January 2019.
Rick Stein is also very watchable, good review as always , take care Gary, , Gareth
Really sad to hear about Pritchard. Take care mate.
Floyd in is 2cv and a bottle of wine
James Martin now owns that 2cv! Just a bit of useless information 😊
You need to be drunk to try and drive a 2cv.
Gary ,Rick typifies everything I've said ,having said that he is one of the more likeable guys in the catering business but like most has lost his way to greed ,not the same intentions when he started out 40 years ago
I have to agree unfortunately
I visited Rick Stein’s cookery school in Padstow many years ago with my brother which was a Christmas present from my husband. We had a great few days and the booze was definitely flowing as was the food ! It was definitely an experience. I was surprised you ordered two smoked haddock dishes. Great vlog as always
Great story and an error on my behalf well spotted 👍
Loved Floyd as I do Stein .. was gifted a trip to UK from Australia and I loved both places thanks for your time and reviews .. unfortunately I’ll probably not going back to UK .. hopefully I will
I like both chefs as great entertainment Georgie
He has a restaurant here in Poole, in Sandbanks, the very expensive bit of Poole where all the houses overlooking Poole Bay look like they were made in Minecraft. The restaurant is also very expensive and mediocre at best, but it's much loved by the sort of person who really, really wants to be allowed into the golf club.
Lol I know what you mean about Minecraft, I went in one about a year ago, was pretty unusual inside too, felt like I was in a rich serial killers house 🤣 ….cool to see the sea looking either way from inside the house though 👍
Lol I understand you Dan. (Not about the Mincraft part, I'm not sure what that is lol)
the minecraft and golf club parts cracked me up lmao😂
@GaryEats
minecraft is a popular building and crafting game where the whole world is made out of blocks.
i guess what the op is saying is that the architecture isn't that impressive lol.
@@RUclips-Censorship-Police
I am not familiar with Minecraft (I sort of worked out it was a computer game) either apart from heard the name - I just assumed it meant it was like some AI artificial game where everything was picture postcard perfect nothing out of place like in the movies.
The problem is all that food can be made in vast quantities. I think an 8 is very generous for that, 7 here but hard to argue with Gary.
Let’s just say 7.5 Henry 👍
I was in Falmouth a few years ago and fancied some fish and chips so I headed to Stein's chippy. I got as far as the price list and turned around. I recall it was about £18 for the basic cod and chips. Robbing bastard.
Fkin hell mate the average price of a half decent chippy is between 9 and 13 quid in the UK so at a place like that not that bad really is it. Especially of its nice nothing wrong with it once in a while
He did say a few years ago
I remember the skatis hotels had brillt breakfast was buffet and there kedgeree was
That looked more like a taster menu?
We had the fish and chips at Falmouth ... you should have spent the money.
Very fair and balanced!! That is why this channel is addictive viewing. Well done, Gary.
Very kind thank you Ed
Gary love your reviews always makes me feel hungry!
Always very honest and informative.
Your mention of the legend Keith Floyd brought back memories thanks , keep it up.
Very kind Charlie thank you 🙏
65.7K. Numbers keep going up and deservedly so. Best wishes, Gary xxx.
Thanks so much Paul. Take care!
@@GaryEatsgreat job
400 more in next 11 hours.
Well done Gary Lad, decent looking food. Quite expensive but if you’re getting quality then it’s value for money. The problem with Steins restaurant in Padstow is there’s so many better, cheaper options available.
Top man. Thank you.
Yes, I've not heard good things in all honesty mate.
He also liked a large black Bushmills !
"Just a quick slurp" as he'd say.😊. Bless him..🔥
Unless in was before he was famous, it would have been 1985 or after as his first Series on TV was Floyd on Fish 1985.
@@nigel8499 probably right nigel
Very funny Colin I really loved watch Keith 🍷🍷🍷 and naughty
10/10, considering where it is , overheads, location views, looked top class , well done Gary, see you on the next one.
Great score thank you
This was an especially interesting chapter to watch. As much as I love watching Gary eat various breakfasts, watching this complete seafood dinner with its variety of ingredients was even more interesting. The eggs with the fish cakes were a very unusual combination.
Hi Paul, this was a good one but not outstanding, lovely location but portion a bit disappointing hence the score 👍
Hi Gary, you're travelling to Padstow to try Rick Steins fish and chips? Please use this as a benchmark - 5 out of 10, poor. I'm down there every year. They're really not great.
Not a problem my friend. I won't just be doing Rick's, I want to try some real family run independent places as well!
So glad I found your channel!Another enjoyable video, thank you so much!😊🎉
You are so welcome! I'm glad you found it as well with your lovely comments
Yeah that Ivy in Cobham not a bit of bread with soup. Bad.
Very bad Mike. Always need bread/roll with soup
Even in the workhouse here we get bread with our gruel.@@GaryEats
Great review again Gary.......For the location , quality of food and service it looked worth it to me! 🙂
I understand Graham thank you
One aspect I like about your channel is the intro and outro.
Barnes is such a lovely part of London, definitely one of my favourites. Wish I could afford to live there lol
Another delightful review!
Very kind and really appreciated
Early again, my mum bloody loves this man! I hope this lives up
Rick? He's a fantastic chef
@@GaryEats both
Sorry as a Cornishman I would not set foot in one of his establishments. Liked what he did back in the 90s and even bought one of his early books then.
Wonder if Rick prepared your plate Gary? Or was he back in Australia.
Clearly he isn’t the cook Clive and understand your comment
I don't understand, can you explain why you're no longer a fan of his
Ah man, keith Floyd, what a man, a pleasure to watch.
Thank you Steven this was good but not outstanding
Massive Rick stein fan so this was a great video Gary. Food looked sensational, the sticky toffee pudding looked Devine
Glad you liked it Matty
I'm dropping a 9 on this one.
The combined portion size looked about substantial. Quality was definitely all over it. Price was acceptable. The soup was too watery, in my opinion, as well.
The dessert absolutely carried this through for a solid, if not perfect, score.
That's fair enough. A good score!
Bet Rick has never cooked a chip in that particular restaurant
I doubt it
Stein's fish and chips are a rip off. Do not believe the hype. Poor quality and grossly over priced.
I've not heard good things Terry...
Agreed absolute overpriced sh*te
Your exactly correct
Yeah the fish and chips aren’t worth half the price they charge
@@jimthefinger7391seriously it's you're how difficult is English for you?
The soup doesn’t have to be thick (I am Scottish) just full of flavour. I was actually impressed with the fish cakes as you had three! Normally only two are served and they may be a bit larger but cool quickly once opened and I like food to be at least warm. Am absolutely green with envy as far as the sticky toffee pudding is concerned! You’re one lucky lad!
Today I was a lucky fella for sure
Love the programme Gary. Went home to visit my mum for a week as she has been unwell and we've watched around 30 videos. We have thoroughly enjoyed your reviews. Keep up the good work!
I’m so sorry to hear about mum, I wish you all the very best 🌹🌹🌹
No wonder the guys a multi 😂
Yes, the Wild Sea bass was calling my name until I saw the price... next time!
The Sea Bass was wild when it got caught. It was still none too happy when it got cooked 😂😂😂.
Thinks he’s a better chef than what he is
Not a fan of him Walter? Lol
You're more than welcome. Take care!
Hi I'm Laura from shropshire .you mentioned my dear late mother's favourite TV chef kieth Floyd .he used to get more and more drunk lol with his wine .she loved him .❤live your channel so much .❤
Hello Laura, I’m sorry about you mum, but like her I loved 🥰 Floyd 🍷🍷🍷. Really appreciate you watching and commenting thank you x
Yes all looked very nice..i wasnt sure about the soup thickness..not my bag im afraid....i love a fish cake on creamy cheesey mash..nom...ty for sharing Gary..great watch as per 🎉 ( deffo Mr M's food won it for me)
Thank you very kind thank you 🙏
Love watching Rick Stein's programmes, and the old re-runs of Keith Floyd.
I really like Keith a real character 🍷🍷 we try to mix things up on the channel so appreciate your comment
Keith is my all time favorite chef and he was quite big in Sweden when his show was first shown in the early 90/s! Of course another great review, Gary and the food was obviously great.
I really enjoyed watching Keith and thank you
Hello from New Zealand. 😊
Keep up the great work, you're the best ❤
Thank you Kelley I e heard it’s a bit hit and miss so I might give that a go instead 👍
Love a bit of the Stranglers from Floyd.
BTW Gary that was Rick's first ever TV appearance on Keith's program.
Me too great music and yes I think I said in the introduction 👍
Floyd was an absolute legend! Loved his TV shows. If you’ve never read his autobiography it’s well worth a read. A life extremely well lived!
I’ve read it and David Pritchard as well the producer 🍷🍷🍷
GM Rich
I agree Rich they are jus5 a chain however this was good 👍
Drool, drool, drool . Thanks for the review Gary, Rick Stein is my favourite too 👍
Very kind and we agree 👍
Soup was watery! Toffee pudding looked like you should have ordered another one. 🤭 I have to confess that I would have!!
I was very tempted 🤔🥰
Hi Gary, I like it that you are becoming more diverse in your choice of restaurants and dishes you choose, also it’s interesting to see a starter and a pudding.
Thank you John we do try to mix things up
Love the optimism. “Let’s give it a go!”
As always, you’ve gotta give it a go
I’ve been to Stein’s restaurant in Padstow, and was extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. I do like him as a person, and that’s why I’m happy you enjoyed the food here. Another great review, mate. Cheers!
That’s disappointing to hear and thank you
Yeah definitely agree with you gary about the soup and fishcakes. Mind you it looked absolutely delicious mate. And the sticky toffee pudding looked to die for. Great review gary 👏
Very kind Neil,thank you
Looks really good. would definitely visit
You should!
Cant believe the number of subscribers. Nice one, Gary. Just decent, honest reviews from a nice bloke.
Thanks so much :) I'm in shock as well
That is very impressive. The set menu price is excellent. The restaurant is excellent. Well done Rick Stein. Now if I could only get there from Australia, that would be excellent also.😅
It’s a long way to travel lol 🇦🇺
Thanks Sheila!!
Great food with Rick Stein - stayed at his hotel in Padstow for three days and ate his restaurant food, amazing. I even did the cookery course there on the quayside and had a great time learning lots of new skills. The best recipes were the sambal and then the emulsified spicy guacamole. 😎
So brilliant to hear pleased you had a great time
Keith Floyd and The Galloping Gourmet (Graham Kerr). Thanks Gary another great vlog xx
Glad you enjoyed it Susannah
I love watching Ricks shows on the telly. I’m delighted you enjoyed your meal.
I enjoy his programs as well 👍
Sticky toffee pudding had me salivating Gary lol. Floyd on food was a great show..glad you brought that up in your review. Look forward to the padstow segment soon. 8/10... pudding 10/10.
Great scores Bernie and I loved Floyd 🍷🍷
Top job again Gary, perfect review and a fair score I think.
