Is it just me or are you guys ready for autumn too? I've definitely stepped into an autumn state of mind recently. For me, autumn reading/movie watching/decor shopping/list planning all happens in August. 2 months is not enough for me to enjoy cozy/spooky season 🍂 I hope you enjoy this video we filmed while staying at an off grid cabin in the woods. The temperature was cool and the afternoons were full with abundant rain storms. It was the perfect autumn day (summer version) 😊
p.s. This is another video that I filmed all in one day instead of filming the 3-5 days it usually takes me to film a more (full? is that right word?) video. You guys really seemed to enjoy the last one I filmed all in one day so I thought I would try it again. I hope you enjoy this as much as we did filming it. And I hope it gives you all the cozy fall vibes that the end of summer can offer 🍁

I thought I was the only one CRAVING autumn weather and spooky books. I was just cuddled in my bed, with a new fall candle burning, reading the cozy murder mystery The Golden Spoon. Now I instantly want to make those s’mores and candy salad. Going to Amazon to look up Swedish candy 😂😂 thanks Desi and Jared for the fall vibes
i like to embrace what i call “soft summer” when i miss autumn - it’s evening beach swims / reading while during warm thunderstorms / playing slow, acoustic songs that feel like the beach’s sand / wearing shorts but also a sweater / getting iced chai lattes / playing my vinyls / eating more soup !! helps with the desire for autumn by slowly releasing me into it :)
I’m not ready for fall and am still embracing the absolute fullness of summer-beach days, fairs, gardening, sun-kissed skin, watching my boys learn new tricks in the pool, gardening, summer squash recipes, camping, hosting outdoor meals, and so much more. It's been constant wind and rain throughout July on the South Coast of England where I live and it's been pure bliss for me. I've been pretending it's autumn all month, having the time of my life reading all the dark and spooky books, lighting scented candles and baking to my hearts content.

Some people get winter blues but I get Summer blues. The past few days we've had so much rain that temps have finally gotten to the upper 70s. I'll take it. my mood has improved so much! Desi, you should try embracing Lughnasadh , it’s a Gaelic holiday celebrated on august 1st which kicks off the harvest season and the aesthetic of the holiday season is very summer meets fall so you don’t have to feel bad about straddling the line between being in a fall mood or summer mood !

I'm seeing a lot of back to school and Fall things. Don't get me wrong, I love Fall. It is my favorite season. However, I'm tired of feeling rushed, pushed to do the next thing. It makes me anxious. I want to be present in the season. Even when it's 100+ out. So I put up some simple pictures that remind me of Summer. It's my hand up approach at saying enough.
We can and should rest and enjoy.
This is just my take, you cozy it up because it was you that made the choice to do so and not pressure.
I made a fall playlist of all your fall (and I slid a couple winter in as well) videos and I put them on daily to soothe my agitated brain. I just am done with this summer! I could not possibly be more opposed to you on the seasonal spectrum.😂 I live for Spring. In March I can barely make it through. Every day of Summer is a meditation in gratitude. I plant, swim, dance and drum on the beach. I wear awesome outfits, exercise, eat fruits and veg right out of the ground, and drink gallons of cool water. I lose weight w/o trying and my body snaps back to firmness and flexibility. My skin gets browner and even toned. I drink in every minute /every hour. Even heat waves are born with acceptance. As Summer begins to die, a pall of sadness creeps in and I brace myself for Fall (it has its pretty moments - perhaps to stave off full blown depression too early in the process.) I’ll watch you then, Darling Desi, to find the charm of Autumn again. But until that time - you can have your pumpkin spice lattes! I’m still drinking my Margarita!

My favorite gummy are the SpongeBob Crabby Patties. The texture, the flavor...I must have some for Halloween night...while my son, his girl and I watch scary movies. I'm gluten free...because I have to be😕. And have migraines and another health problem...that the normal meds do nothing for. So my diet is limited. Because I must control these problems with my diet. Chocolate, corn, any kind of nuts...all of which I love...can not be eaten together. So it's really tough to find treats...I usually end up baking my own....apple crisp... impossible French apple pie, made with bisquick makes its own custard like crust, it's delish! Pumpkin spice anything.I love to make just the filling for the usual pie and call it pumpkin pudding. French donut muffins, placed warm in a zip lock bag, with cinnamon and sugar....oh and simple apple sauce cookies....topped with a dollop of cream cheese frosting...falling is baking time. And the long winter is perfect for baking, filling your home even after the holidays with the smell of fresh baked goodies...and meals..I love the cooler weather...and am looking forward to the first snow fall.
Maybe this yearning for fall is to welcome cooler weather. It's been a hot summer ☀️

I don't think that you need the label of Autumn to enjoy the more nostalgic and chilly aspects of Summer. In Northern Europe, we get cold mornings and nights almost throughout Summer, and August already has apples, harvest season begins, we have wild mushrooms and beries, you get cold rainstorms and thunderstorms - even more so than in November. The sea can get pretty rough as well. Don't take away from Summer, it has teeth of its own.
See?? I'm not the only one craving the autumn season even though it's still technically summer!! My friend and i have already gone fall shopping at Hobby Lobby and still awaiting for more fall stuff. This video only inspires me more for warm sweaters, spice galore, and crisp air!

Currently where I like in the UK we are having rain almost daily at the moment, (I know a lot of people outside the uk think that’s normal but it’s not for this time of year) I love autumn weather but I need summer first so I can get fed up with it and get ready to enjoy the next season.
This video is everything I needed today. For the record, we do eat A LOT of candy in Sweden. Now that you've gotten a taste it's not hard to figure out why we do.

In Sweden we call that candy "lösgodis" which means "loose candy", as in, candy that is not contained in its own package but instead each type of candy is in a container and you pic the ones you want and mix them in your own little paper bag. Pretty much all grocery stores have a wall filled with "lösgodis" containers. We even have stores that only sell candy, hundreds upon hundreds of different kinds of candies, some have close to 1000 different types of "lösgodis" for you to choose from. Swedes are very serious about our candy :P Happy you like them, hope you'll get to try some more!

I am crazy about our New England autumn days!! Crisp, brightly colored leaves, cozy sweaters, pumpkin spice everything, frost on the pumpkin, the smell of woodstove fires and crackling logs, blustery wind and brain days...ooohhh, how I love it!! I am old enough to be your mom, but we are connected by this love of autumn. And, I also start to crave those days LONG before the calendar tells me it's finally here. You rock your autumn lovin' heart!
