Getting Desis Notification is like finding a really fancy letter of an old friend in your postbox... ✨🍁✉️✨ Same mix of excitement, nostalgia and that bonding feeling. 💞
Does anyone know of RUclipsrs similar to Desi? Her aesthetic and editing is so unique it’s hard to come by other content creators creating such atmospheric, aesthetic and cinematic videos!!
I agree with Rachel Maksy and Cottage Fairy recommendations too! I can’t think of their channels name but the couple who named their home Cobweb cottage have beautiful videos as well.
Ugh I always see people getting the cutest stuff on Thread up and I can never find anything 😭 Anyway, this was such a cute way to integrate a sponsorship + haul! I feel like sometimes hauls can be really boring but I literally watched the whole thing! It was so nice to have a mix of Q&A with the clothes! AMAZING video as always Desi🍂
I clicked faster than Harry Potter realising that the train was behind him in the Chamber of Secrets. :))) You inspire me Desi, you are like the cottagecore princess that is also an autumn fairy in my dreams
To add, the trouble with Harry is a really good classic autumnal film. It takes place during the fall and there's a nice crunch of leaves everywhere in the movie 🍂
I looooved Only Murders in the Building! It was so quirky and lovely and it was also fun to wait every week for a new episode, it made me really look forward to Tuesdays 😊
I’m from Ireland and thank you for pronouncing Samhain right! We definitely don’t have the amazing decorations and colourful autumn leaves like you get over seas but Ive grown up trick r treating, apple bobbing, watching Hocus Pocus and dressing up (mostly in bin bags 😆)! Hope you get to visit someday 🙌🎃
Arsenic and old lace, and Bell book and candle with Kim Novak and James Stewart and Jack Lemmon! Perfect Halloween movie, if you’ve never seen either one of them you are in for a treat.
It's finally looking and feeling like fall here in SW Ohio! It was warm for so long that just two weeks ago everything was still green! Now all the trees are finally turning fall colors, almost overnight like they're trying to catch up. I love it!
I just discovered your page and have been binging. Over the last few years I've lost myself in motherhood and recently told my therapist I felt like I didn't have my own personality. Its so refreshing to find some content that isn't "mommy vloggers" that I really love. I am a big fan of thrifting and antiques and I'm trying to rekindle my love of reading. Thanks for great content! Looking forward to this year's fall content!
I think you’d like the anime Bofuri. It’s also a light novel. It’s a girl who joins an online VR game and sets all of her stats to protect herself from damage. It’s sooooooo cute and the scenery is really pretty too. ☺️
Desi, your videos honestly make me so happy!! It makes me want to live my life to the fullest and as someone who suffers with depression, that's really rare for me. Thank you and keep producing amazing videos!! Much love💗💗
My ears perked up immediately when I heard Halloweentown music in the background! It really is the perfect time for an autumn thrift haul, and that song always gives me all the October vibes. I'm in love with the looks you put together, especially the overalls! I just recently thrifted a pair of comfy overalls myself. They're so perfect for fall!
Gosh I just can’t get over how unique and homey your videos are- the cinematography, the energy, the fashion, the book recommendations. And basically everything you love I love too so every video is like a perfectly tailored dream 😍
My recommendations for Halloween and autumnal dark academia vibes for you! :) :: Halloween :: • Mad Monster Party - it's a classic Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated movie from 1967 and is the cutest Halloween movie ever. (Yes, I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, but this one is my fave). 💀 :: Dark Academia :: • Endeavour - This British TV show is a sort of prequel to an '80s/'90s TV show called Inspector Morse (I couldn't get into it, TBH). It takes place in 1960s Oxford, England. While it is a mystery/detective TV show, much of the investigations wind up on university campuses with academics in tweed clutching books under overcast skies. It tends to have a quieter, contemplative vibe to it, but the characters get under your skin in the best of ways. Start at the beginning: "Masterpiece Mystery: Endeavour" is the pilot on Amazon Prime. It's not free (but the internet exists!), but the rest of the seasons are. I re-watch this constantly. I find it oddly comforting on days when my anxiety gets me jittery. 🧡
as someone who lives in massachusetts I go to salem a lot during october. it’s literally the best place on earth, so spooky and so fun to just walk around with friends and go into the little shops. if you go closer to halloween everyone dresses up. I will say though at night it gets a bit scary because the streets are very crowded everyone’s dressed up (lots in scary costumes) and police are at every corner. it’s still very fun in early october/september :)
I loved how you showcased items you bought from ThredUp spaced throughout the video so that it fit in with the aesthetic of your content so beautifully! Nobody would forget the sponsor and it wasn’t done in a forceful or pushy way. ☺️ Had to comment as it was so uniquely done. Loved the video. It was so cosy! 💝 🍂
I loved how you circled round to clothing, fashion show, questions, repeat. Hubby and I kept stopping the video and answering the questions between us too. It made me realize, sadly, that there are no photos of my childhood costumes and I couldn't remember a single one! We lived in northern Wisconsin, I mostly remember it had to be a WARM costume. And I remember feeling cheated out of a REAL costume because my mom thought those store bought ones with the plastic masks were cheap looking and dangerous (the mask). Eventually she broke down and bought us one when I was a bit older and I HATED the mask. LOL I remember all the outfits I made for my kids over the years however! And speaking of scary/spooky vintage movies, one of my favorite movies I can watch over and over is Charade with Audrey Hepburn. If you haven't seen it, two thumbs way high up! Also, loved all your clothing selections. Also, I realize it's sort of autumnal, don't miss out on The Three Lives of Thomasina.
I blame global warming. When I was a kid, our costumes had to be warm and we carried flashlights and sometimes it was raining, and I hated when we had to cover our costumes with coats. Now it's daylight when the kids come by, it's warm and dry, and people are still wearing t shirts and shorts this time of year.
You have so quickly become one of my favourite channels 🍁💕 Your videos capture autumn so well and make me even more excited about the season. And I related so much to everything you said about anxiety! I had the exact same thoughts on the whole vampire, witch, and mermaid thing :')
I'd love to see more thrift hauls from you, ThredUp sponsored or not. I love seeing sustainable and affordable cottagecore content. A cottagecore decor thrift haul could be cool too!
Yay! I’m taking care of a bunch of errands right now but I know that I’ll be watching Darling Desi during dinner tonight instead of one of my favorite Netflix series shows. Can hardly wait! 😍
I HATE candy corn with a passion. Like there is nothing that would ever make me like it. Like EVER. On the other hand, I now have a podcast to listen to while waiting for my son to get out of school! Heck yeah!
Salem in October, although, yes....very "touristy"... is extremely charming and packed FULL of history. The food is absolutely amazing and the metaphysical shops are so great! You're also an hour and a half away from the Lizzie Borden house, which I highly recommend touring! I will DEFINITELY visit Salem in October again!!!! It's my happy place!
The best Autumn movie is Alfred Hitchcock’s The trouble with Harry! It’s hysterical! The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous. If you haven’t seen it, I do think you will love it.
Greyfriars Kirkyard is so beautiful especially in autumn. We went there in october 2018 and visited it by day, rubbed Bobbys nose and looked at all the graves. At night we went there with a guide, that shows you around and tell spooky storys. It was absolutely amazing ♥
Omg! I'm so excited to watch this! I'm going thrifting for the first time tomorrow and I love your fashion videos so much! Thank you for all your great work! 💖💓
Greyfriars has a really sweet story surrounding it! In the late 1800s/early 1900s (Preparing to be corrected on that ha ha) an old man died and was buried there. His little dog, a Skye terrier named Bobby, refused to leave him alone and slept on his grave every night until he also died about 11 years later. Little Bobby became quite famous and there is a statue of him there (complete with a shiny face because so many people have petted him)
I've been following you for a while Desi and I really adore you, you are cheerful, friendly, Empathetic and full of initiative, I like her a lot when you get excited about something beautiful, you really know how to convey it and I really like your books and advice you give, even the desserts you prepare are like gifts, then the I find Christmas decorations adorable... I hug you, a kiss Soon ❤💋👑
This was such a fun video! I liked seeing the ways you styled each piece - I'm trying to shop my own closet, so to speak, but I'm really bad at styling pieces differently. You gave me some great ideas!
Such a beautiful video! I love that the haul and q&a were intertwined 🥰🥰 edit to say you should definitely visit Edinburgh! I live there, and there are plenty more Harry Potter references, like the school that inspired Hogwarts etc. There's some Harry Potter tours as well that show you everything connected to it!!!
Greyfriars is also the setting of the book Greyfriars Bobby, which was actually based on a true story! It's one of the best cosy, heartwarming autumnal books!
You would love the Pere Lachaise cemetery in Paris, France. Large, old, with famous people buried, many above ground old and new crypts done with great artistry, heavily wooded, scary ravens cawing in the tree tops, stone paths, falling leaves, shadowy when overcast but smack in the middle of Paris. What a great experience.
I’m so glad you posted! I didn’t know you were going to do it was quite the pleasant surprise! I just got done with my cooking club and this day has been lovely because of both these things. Thanks for making my day better Desi! I can’t wait to go home turn on my autumnal leds and watch it!
Loved the inspiration in this video, thank you ❤ Another autumn series that I can really recommend that we have been super into is Murdoch Mysteries 😊 It has kind of some dark academia and halloween vibes, highly recommend 👍
Oh those overalls are the CUTEST on you! I love your blue plaid shoes too! AND the balloon sleeve wool jacket is gorgeous! Thanks for answering my question-little Desi as Rose is an absolute classic, even if no other kids knew who you were! And kudos to your parents for supporting your creativity and passion for the movie to be expressed! Can't wait to see your costume for this Halloween!
Great timing! I was just going through my inventory of clothes to sell on a thrift site and you upload the perfect video to watch while I work! You mentioned wanting to visit Salem during Halloween. If you want to read an amazing book set in modern Salem during its peak tourist season, Halloween, you should read The Fifth Petal by Brunonia Barry! I read it every October.
Fun tip: when going into a haunted house/maze, always stay in the front because the cast usually goes after the last ones in the group because they are the most scared and thereore the easiest to scare. They figure the ones in front are the bravest and therefore the hardest to scare. :)
Don't feel bad that you didn't get to Salem this year. It's not the same with all the covid restrictions. The yearly halloween parade that we love and is our tradition was horrific as it was a stationary parade. We honestly could not tell who was in the parade or the crowd. Salem has tons of history and it's such a fun place anytime of year. Spooky stuff is always on in Salem year round.
Dear Desi, thank you for making this fall even cozier and enjoyable with your videos🥰 they are alway such a good company when I just want to relax and feel at peace with the world and myself...in your channel I always feel welcomed and myself♥️ i love u so much♥️♥️ Ps: i was thinking...it would be very interesting to know your story (yours and Jareds) when you were travelling the world!! If you'd like of course😊😊
I just downloaded a sleep app that records sleep sounds and I'm SO anxious checking it every morning for the same reason!! So nervous about hearing something spooky one of these days.
Between witch, vampire, and werewolf, I would definitely pick witch because of the food issue. I don't want to eat what vampires and werewolves eat, and I think witches can probably cook their own food. That is also the reason why the correct answer to "Which animal do you want to be?" is always "human" because we are the only animals that cook our food. Some of us even cook food for our own animals.
Hey Desi! I’m pretty sure the velvety ribbed material of your overalls is called corduroy! It’s such a great fabric for fall, along with wool of course 🥰
The What We Said podcast episode from last year was so spooky! I haven't had the courage to listen to this years one yet. Also, the Unsolicited Advice podcast does spooky episodes all October and I listened to some from last year and couldn't sleep.
I love this video as I love all your videos! But please please please tell us what the music is! You have such a talent for picking the most beautiful music or songs and I have tried unsuccessfully to track some of them down. Would love it if you posted what the soundtrack to your videos is.
I hope you take this as a compliment. You are part of my fall. Darling Desi. I am already planning for fall and came to your videos. you give great ideas. Because of you I am in love with Anne
I love the 'A Discovery of Witches' book trilogy! I couldn't put them down. And I'm slowly getting my hands on hard copies that I don't have to return to the library! ☺️☺️ I'm Soo excited to watch the show
I just got back from Starbucks and saw you posted a video. So I grabbed my blanket and my pumpkin spice latte and had the most amazing time watching it. I love how comforting it is to just sit and enjoy a good drink with a new content from my favourite youtuber. Oh and happy almost Halloween hope you have a really spooky and fun time! 🍂🍂❤️
So many cute outfits! I absolutely love thredup, I even got my mom addicted lol I'm definitely checking out that podcast because I need a good scare and also I LOVE CANDY CORN!!!
One time my mom made pumpkin bread with candycorn and it was SO good, she doesn't like candycorn tho so she dedicated it for me and my sister, she is honestly the best mom ever ❤️.
I’ve seen Rear Window and Dial M for Murder and they are both SO GOOD. Adding Wait Until Dark to my list… I’ll probably watch it tonight or tomorrow since you linked it with two of my favorite movies! ☺️ also ThredUP is literally the best. I buy most of my clothes from there or Goodwill these days 🥰🤣
This was sooo cozy, your outfits look amazing! And omg it was the first time that I actually realised that sometimes you look so much like Lorelai :O Thank you for creating such beautiful feel-good videos
Getting Desis Notification is like finding a really fancy letter of an old friend in your postbox... ✨🍁✉️✨ Same mix of excitement, nostalgia and that bonding feeling. 💞
Agreed! 💯
this is the top comment right here xD
Wow! This comment I agree with it so much! Desis videos always bring a smile to my face and cozy vibes. ❤️❤️❤️🥰
Yessss
such a lovely comment!!
Does anyone know of RUclipsrs similar to Desi? Her aesthetic and editing is so unique it’s hard to come by other content creators creating such atmospheric, aesthetic and cinematic videos!!
I second this 🤎
Cottage Fairy is pretty similar! Allison is also lifestyle cozy vids.
Rachel Masky, she doesn’t recommend books, her channel is more about the fashion. Sleepy Deer has good cottage core music playlists.
I like Morgan Long! She’s kinda similar with positive vibes, reading, and romanticizing simple things!
Yes this format of haul + Q&A really works
Same for Thread up ahh
I clicked faster than Harry Potter realising that the train was behind him in the Chamber of Secrets. :)))
You inspire me Desi, you are like the cottagecore princess that is also an autumn fairy in my dreams
Oh my gosh hahaha I love this so much! And thank you 😭🧡 I hope you’re having a lovely autumn 🍂
Hhaha omg same here!
Visit New Orleans during Halloween. Louisiana in general has a ton of history but Nola especially does. And the cemeteries. There are sooo many!
To add, the trouble with Harry is a really good classic autumnal film. It takes place during the fall and there's a nice crunch of leaves everywhere in the movie 🍂
I clicked faster than taylor could say “autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place.” Love ur vides desi!!!
That velvety-ribbed fabric is called corduroy.
LOL. I was giving her a "whaaa?" look when she said that. I was, "OK, but it looks like corduroy to me. But what do I know?" LOL
I giggled so much like ma'am it's called corduroy 😂
I looooved Only Murders in the Building! It was so quirky and lovely and it was also fun to wait every week for a new episode, it made me really look forward to Tuesdays 😊

i was just waiting for her to say sam-hain and was so happy when she said it correctly
Arsenic and old lace, and Bell book and candle with Kim Novak and James Stewart and Jack Lemmon! Perfect Halloween movie, if you’ve never seen either one of them you are in for a treat.

Had the worst day today, and I've just been waiting for your video to pop up on my feed. Your videos bring me so much inspiration and energy. Yay!
I’m so sorry about your day. Remember to take time for self care 🧡 I hope tomorrow is much better! ✨✨ sending all the magic your way!
Sameeee
Oh no what happened? I know you commented this 6 months ago so I don't expect you to answer me but I'm just curious of what happened :0 💔
I dressed my daughter up as Rose one year! She too had the heart of the ocean necklace. Salem is awesome and you’d love it, also Terrytown, NY!
Gosh I just can’t get over how unique and homey your videos are- the cinematography, the energy, the fashion, the book recommendations. And basically everything you love I love too so every video is like a perfectly tailored dream 😍
My recommendations for Halloween and autumnal dark academia vibes for you! :)
:: Halloween ::
• Mad Monster Party - it's a classic Rankin/Bass stop-motion animated movie from 1967 and is the cutest Halloween movie ever. (Yes, I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, but this one is my fave). 💀

When Desi is in the first skirt outfit, her outfit and hair make her blend in with the leaves around her, like she’s a real life autumn fairy 💚🍁
OMG perfecttt timing! I just made a decaf coffee with a pumpkin muffin! My current read is Rebecca per your recommendation and I am loving it! 🥰🍁🍂
I just started Rebecca too!
Oh my goodness I love that you’d reading Rebecca! Such a perfect book for this time of year (in my opinion!) ☺️🍂
I'm also reading Rebecca! I'm currently on chapter 11! Isn't it great so far?
Same! It has a beautiful blue cover as well. 💖😍
I love how so many of us are probably reading it this autumn because of Desi!🌙🕯️🍂 There's an influential queen! 😊👑
YAYY here for all the cozy vibes! I was just thinking to myself how much I’d love if you did a thrift haul and now it’s here 💕🥰🎃✨
Oh my gosh yay! Next time I think I’ll try to do one where I actually go thrifting in-person, I think that would be fun too!
Also, I was totally impressed that you knew how to pronounce Samhain. :D
Nothing or no other channel came make me as happy as this incredibly talented lady can!!...Just like Anne Shirley does always as....
You are a magically delightful human. Thank you for standing out as such a luminously BRIGHT light in this crazy space. Infinite love & gratitude. xo
Yay! I’m taking care of a bunch of errands right now but I know that I’ll be watching Darling Desi during dinner tonight instead of one of my favorite Netflix series shows. Can hardly wait! 😍
Autumn my favorite time of year! I live at the beach in Florida. So all winter here is basically autumn. Love it.
If you go to Salem, take a detour to Plymouth to do one of their lantern ghost tours! Truly terrifying, but so fascinating and fun!
As always Desi comes through when I just need a warm, cozy video to brighten up my day. I love those looks.
I HATE candy corn with a passion. Like there is nothing that would ever make me like it. Like EVER. On the other hand, I now have a podcast to listen to while waiting for my son to get out of school! Heck yeah!

YESSS QUEEN OF ALL THINGS AUTUMN! I love how you styled all these pieces!
Ohmygosh I love the blast from the past with the costumes!
Omg Desi I’m literally wearing that American Eagle sweater right now while watching this ❤️ you have great taste!
The best Autumn movie is Alfred Hitchcock’s The trouble with Harry! It’s hysterical! The cinematography is absolutely gorgeous. If you haven’t seen it, I do think you will love it.
I love that this wasn’t just a thrift haul but also a Q&A!
Autumn is the BeSt season, especially whatching Desi

This was such a fun video! I liked seeing the ways you styled each piece - I'm trying to shop my own closet, so to speak, but I'm really bad at styling pieces differently. You gave me some great ideas!
I just picked up my phone and bing, a new video from you! I’ve been waiting for it, you’re my absolute favourite youtuber ❤️
Yes! Only a few minutes in but had to say Discovery of Witches is perfect autumn viewing 🥰🍁🍂
I'm gonna need a whole storytime for that freaky photo!!
Such a beautiful video! I love that the haul and q&a were intertwined 🥰🥰
edit to say you should definitely visit Edinburgh! I live there, and there are plenty more Harry Potter references, like the school that inspired Hogwarts etc. There's some Harry Potter tours as well that show you everything connected to it!!!
It makes me so happy that your hair matches the leaves
I think you would like the Père la Chaise cimetery in Paris.
Totallly agree.
Here I am watching this autumnal video during summer while it's winter for america/Europe
Greyfriars is also the setting of the book Greyfriars Bobby, which was actually based on a true story! It's one of the best cosy, heartwarming autumnal books!
i just binged lucifer. i think its really good show to watch for autumn

Loved the inspiration in this video, thank you ❤ Another autumn series that I can really recommend that we have been super into is Murdoch Mysteries 😊 It has kind of some dark academia and halloween vibes, highly recommend 👍
I swear no one does these hauls with try ons and look books anymore! I know it’s a lot of work but it’s beautiful! 10/10
Yesssss! Just making myself a herbal tea and got notified of this vid ❤️❤️
I think herbal tea would pair lovely with this video 😌☕️
Nothing can go wrong with some tea🍵🌿
Oh those overalls are the CUTEST on you! I love your blue plaid shoes too! AND the balloon sleeve wool jacket is gorgeous! Thanks for answering my question-little Desi as Rose is an absolute classic, even if no other kids knew who you were! And kudos to your parents for supporting your creativity and passion for the movie to be expressed! Can't wait to see your costume for this Halloween!
ahh the fall vibes are so nice in this video
Who sang the version of wildest dreams on here? It's beautiful.
Fun fall video. The skirt you are holding up at 21:10 looks exactly like one I had when I was in High School in the 1970's. Loved that skirt!
Ahhh I love that you dressed as Rose from Titanic! You are so cool! Also LOVE your fashion 😍
OMG Dead Still is one of my favorite serie of all timmmmme !! My victorian soul is happy that you have watched this tv show !!!
how I adore your videos 🧡 the quality is always amazing, and you're the sweetest ✨
Fun tip: when going into a haunted house/maze, always stay in the front because the cast usually goes after the last ones in the group because they are the most scared and thereore the easiest to scare. They figure the ones in front are the bravest and therefore the hardest to scare. :)
Desi could for sure cosplay as Chrissy for Halloween this year
Desi you have a gorgeous sense of style, I loved the outfits you put together! Very harmonious and stylish :)
Oh my god I LOVED THE LOOKBOOK! Every single outfit was a 10/10 girl! Also I just finished Only Murders in the Building and I loved it!
you truly make autumn even more better! 🧡🧡
😭😭😭
Funny you should mention Anne Shirley Cuthbert…I think you are the modern day embodiment of her. I love it! And you!
You put so much work in the video, it shows like in all you videos. Love them all😊 I get inspired everytime😊
Honestly I really like the "setting?" of your mic it sounds automnal and cozy when you speak🍁🧡
Guess who’s back 😍 more fall vibes also have you seen Taylor swift’s new reel to do with fall
25:03 you blew me back with that one. I love that outfit !!!!!!
That’s why I chose Invisibility!!!
I made a fall colored, crochet throw blanket for Fall 2021! It turned out so pretty!
Dear Desi, thank you for making this fall even cozier and enjoyable with your videos🥰 they are alway such a good company when I just want to relax and feel at peace with the world and myself...in your channel I always feel welcomed and myself♥️ i love u so much♥️♥️
Ps: i was thinking...it would be very interesting to know your story (yours and Jareds) when you were travelling the world!! If you'd like of course😊😊
Ahhh now it’s time to cozy up in my socks, wrap myself up like a burrito, and drink some tea🍂✨💛
I just downloaded a sleep app that records sleep sounds and I'm SO anxious checking it every morning for the same reason!! So nervous about hearing something spooky one of these days.
That outfit with the plaid shirt is just so perfectly cute
Your hair looks so lovely like that 😍💕💖
Why (HOW?) had I never heard of Cackle before today?! It sounds like the perfect book for me during this season!
I love the way your hair looks here. Beautiful color and shine!.
I went to the greyfriars kirkyard in Scotland and it was amazing!!! Photos don’t do it justice your must go!
