Very Victorian, beautiful colours plum, pink tones! I think if you can spot something in a velvet or soft fluffy fabric, or even knitted a throw across the bottom of the bed would lend a softness and allow for more subtle colour to flow through, just a suggestion, victorians loved brocades, silk, velvets,tapestry, crossword, and rich embroideries, and lace! The best part is you can change it for summer hues, winter hues, and spring, and autumn, so doesn’t have to remain static. Loved it all.
Love the narration and light background music. Very nice room. I have a touch of romanticism in my bedroom with a few antiques. It really makes my bedroom feel like a special place. Also, I just have to say you have a beautiful dog.
Oh it all looks just perfect and for less than $500 you must be over the moon. I can honestly say I love nothing more than finding that special item at an Op shop, bringing it home and knowing it's safe for at least another 50 years. Looking forward to the next episode. Blessed Be 💜🖤

I think it would look stunning outside that bedroom window to completely set off the colours would be a pink flowering dogwood. They have a stunning shape even when not in flower. It would look perfect. One of the most beautiful small trees. Maybe offset it nearby with a weeping cherry. Winter is the cheapest time to get them when they are bare rooted. Love your colour scheme. The wall colour is lush and velvety. So glad you got rid of the vivid white. It all looks so beautiful. I get antique furniture off gumtree really cheap. You just set up a detailed search on the app, and it notifies you when something is listed that matches. It's how I got my antique brass and porcelain bed for $300 (its worth a few thousand). Wardrobes are often $50 especially the antique ones. One with a style of your beautiful dresser and mirror. Stunning piece 😊
Tip for picture walls…. Trace the shapes on to paper then stick the papers on the wall, so you can play around with the spaces and shapes. Then when you get a sequence you like, nail through the paper, pull the paper off and hang your pics

Everything looks just right - not too much, not too little and that wall color is a winner. I've been working on rebuilding my cabinet of curiosities as I sold everything a few years ago, so I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. Mine isn't an actual cabinet, just recessed shelving in the dining room. It's especially fun to find treasures in Nature when I walk my dog or the gift of a feather from the birds.. Love that you included your dog in your video, animals make a house feel like home. That divine "Coffee Rose" paint looks quite similar to a paint color that I have recently fallen in Love with for the exterior of my 1940s Colonial Revival architectural style Home called "Blackberry Mocha" by Behr Dynasty paints. Hmm ... Tis indeed a woman's bedroom ...does your partner have his own room? Not the decor of a shared room though...harder to do a shared gender bedroom decor ...males will feel uncomfortable with too much frilliness ... I know this because, I did exactly this to my shared bedroom, shabby chic - made my husband feel pushed out of the space... I think a he/she space has to be made instead... Just add more neutral / masculine decor their side of the room -don't hang up feminine clothing - plain pillows on a floral bedspread etc - but yes carve out some space for them too...OR have separate rooms ...and fun to set their room up too...

I have my mom’s dresser, mirror, and vanity from early 1920s. My walls are soft lavender (Ben Moore “Porcelain”). I have Victorian artwork in ornate soft gold frames on the walls. And I created silk floral arrangements in mauve, cream, plum, and green, in consignment shop vases. I would love to put up drapes, but the double window has a radiator under it. Maybe I’ll go with draped garlands.

Recommendations from other videos I've watched when hanging picture frames, was to get paper and trace all the frames you plan to use. Then you cut them out so you have the frame templates and can tape them on the wall. That way, you can figure out a layout before you start nailing.

Looks great! Have to say that I was disappointed at not seeing The Lady of Shalott print that was in the wooden oval frame...in the final reveal. That would have been the first go-to print I would have used...the colors in the print would have worked perfectly. Long time fan of J.W. Waterhouse. 👍 on your end results.
Very Very Pretty! The wall colour is GORGEOUS and I also adore the bedlinen. However, the purple door visually takes over as the focal point when it should be that Amazing dresser from your parents and would be better painted the same colour as the walls using the purple as an accent in a lamp base or lamp shade for the other side of your bed. Other than that I think your room is an absolute Dream come true! p.s. you have an Excellent speaking voice which is a pleasure to listen to💖
Oh thank you, you know, I totally agree about the door - it was a last-minute addition as the paint started peeling off and I just didn't know what to do. I am going to take it back to white, but gosh it was so much work! 🧚♀️xx
Lovely! FYI, you can use watered-down paint as a wood stain (so you could use brown Tint to stain wood and not deal with the off-gassing of other commercial stains). You simply brush it on, let it sit for a few seconds, and wipe off the excess before it dries. You can also use coffee, tea, food coloring and the like, but it would take many coats of those before wood went from as light as it is in the video to as dark as it became, as opposed to watered down paint. You then either leave the wood as is (unfinished) or apply oil or wax (or polyurethane, but I assume that would give you migraines as well). If you're going to continue using commercial stain, you might also want to know that there's such a thing as wood conditioner or pre-stain that you can apply before a stain. It helps the stain go on more evenly and greatly improves the look.

The dried white translucent flowers you hanged upside down are called in French 'monnaie du pape'. It is said here to bring prospérité et abondance. Your bedroom is absoluty gorgeous. A real victorian feel to it.
Noah wasn't from a breeder, and he isn't an Aussie (even though he looks like one!). He is a mixer - born of two farm dogs (a border collie and an Aussie koolie). He sends sloppy kisses to you and your future furbaby ❤ xx
To stain wood a darker colour, I use steel wool soaked in vinegar. Left for a week or two....the steel wool dissolves....leaving a liquid which creates a lovely looking natural stain....which is totally non-toxic. You can dilute it with water for a lighter stain. You can oil the wood afterwards if you want a shiny finish❤

That divine "Coffee Rose" paint looks quite similar to a paint color that I have recently fallen in Love with for the exterior of my 1940s Colonial Revival architectural style Home called "Blackberry Mocha" by Behr Dynasty paints. Your taste in Vintage and Antiques very much mirrors my taste. I am so delighted to have discovered your channel through this video. I, too, am a young woman and focusing profoundly on decorating. Hmm ... Tis indeed a woman's bedroom ...does your partner have his own room?
Not the decor of a shared room though...harder to do a shared gender bedroom decor ...males will feel uncomfortable with too much frilliness ... I know this because, I did exactly this to my shared bedroom, shabby chic - made my husband feel pushed out of the space... I think a he/she space has to be made instead... Just add more neutral / masculine decor their side of the room -don't hang up feminine clothing - plain pillows on a floral bedspread etc - but yes carve out some space for them too...OR have separate rooms ...and fun to set their room up too...

I have my mom’s dresser, mirror, and vanity from early 1920s. My walls are soft lavender (Ben Moore “Porcelain”). I have Victorian artwork in ornate soft gold frames on the walls. And I created silk floral arrangements in mauve, cream, plum, and green, in consignment shop vases. I would love to put up drapes, but the double window has a radiator under it. Maybe I’ll go with draped garlands.

Recommendations from other videos I've watched when hanging picture frames, was to get paper and trace all the frames you plan to use. Then you cut them out so you have the frame templates and can tape them on the wall. That way, you can figure out a layout before you start nailing.

Looks great! Have to say that I was disappointed at not seeing The Lady of Shalott print that was in the wooden oval frame...in the final reveal. That would have been the first go-to print I would have used...the colors in the print would have worked perfectly. Long time fan of J.W. Waterhouse. 👍 on your end results.

Very Very Pretty! The wall colour is GORGEOUS and I also adore the bedlinen. However, the purple door visually takes over as the focal point when it should be that Amazing dresser from your parents and would be better painted the same colour as the walls using the purple as an accent in a lamp base or lamp shade for the other side of your bed. Other than that I think your room is an absolute Dream come true!

Oh thank you, you know, I totally agree about the door - it was a last-minute addition as the paint started peeling off and I just didn't know what to do. I am going to take it back to white, but gosh it was so much work! 🧚♀️xx

FYI, you can use watered-down paint as a wood stain (so you could use brown Tint to stain wood and not deal with the off-gassing of other commercial stains). You simply brush it on, let it sit for a few seconds, and wipe off the excess before it dries. You can also use coffee, tea, food coloring and the like, but it would take many coats of those before wood went from as light as it is in the video to as dark as it became, as opposed to watered down paint. You then either leave the wood as is (unfinished) or apply oil or wax (or polyurethane, but I assume that would give you migraines as well).
If you're going to continue using commercial stain, you might also want to know that there's such a thing as wood conditioner or pre-stain that you can apply before a stain. It helps the stain go on more evenly and greatly improves the look.

The dried white translucent flowers you hanged upside down are called in French 'monnaie du pape'. It is said here to bring prospérité et abondance. Your bedroom is absoluty gorgeous. A real victorian feel to it.

Noah wasn't from a breeder, and he isn't an Aussie (even though he looks like one!). He is a mixer - born of two farm dogs (a border collie and an Aussie koolie). He sends sloppy kisses to you and your future furbaby ❤ xx

To stain wood a darker colour, I use steel wool soaked in vinegar. Left for a week or two....the steel wool dissolves....leaving a liquid which creates a lovely looking natural stain....which is totally non-toxic. You can dilute it with water for a lighter stain. You can oil the wood afterwards if you want a shiny finish❤
