I am so happy to hear that my words have been a small comfort. I really do know the pain of spending this time of year apart from loved ones. I reminded myself often that, in truth, we are all connected and one big family. I would listen to the children laughing and playing in the neighbour's garden (they always had a big Christmas day party with several families invited) and I would just feel their warmth and happiness. It made me feel less alone somehow. Lots of love 🎄xx

Stogy hot food etc jar with our Australian reality so adapting to our own unique experiences and surroundings makes for a much more enjoyable time, where the over arching objective is, all the world around, to come together to share, be thankful, celebrate what we have, and put aside our differences with peace and love. Send it out there for a change in the existing paradigm that will alleviate the suffering of those caught up in the opposite reality

What is Australian snow like?🤣 I say this,because we are getting our first snow of the year in my town. I wish I could send you a pic!!! Oh,also you mentioned gum nuts. When I was there in Australia,I found a few on the ground. I took one,only one. A few years later,a braided leather ankle bracelet that I made for a friend eventually broke off,and,being a dear friend,she sent it to me,and I replaced it with a new one. But here’s the magic: I took that leather ankle bracelet of my friend,combined it with the gum nut,which I made a bead of,and,I own a didjeridu that dates back to the 1940’s,and I placed the leather bracelet,with said nut,around the didjeridu. This didjeridu is priceless,now made more so by the little gum nut and wisdom infused leather braid that my dear friend carried with her for years! I wish I could send a photo of that. Maybe I can! I’ll look into it,as this dandelion is feeling his roots pull back deep into frosty soil,retreating from the early setting winter sun,already yearning for the new warmth of the spring to come.

No,I am not familiar with those books by May Gibbs,I must look for them,thanks for the reference! I do have a few Australian children’s books that I purchased while I was there,but the mindblowing discovery I made there were the Ainslie Roberts books. Wow,what incredible illustrations!
What a beautifully written, even poetic, intro to this video! You do have a talent with words in addition to your artistic talent. I'm in the northern USA and envy you your summer Christmas! You're on target about keeping that beautiful tree up. Or maybe you could put it back up again when your Australian winter descends. I live in a small cottage, but I have a 6-1/2' living room tree with a 3' tree arriving on Friday for the kitchen (decorated with cupcake and cake ornaments and plenty of lights) along with two branch trees with lights. I use white trees without Santas and other exclusively Christmas decorations so that I don't get sick of them when Christmas is over. I plan to keep all four trees up until mid March, when the thaw comes and the light returns. I live for the spring and summer and should probably move way south. My salvation is to flood my home with plenty of light during the cold, dark seasons.
Oh, I totally agree that a home filled with light and candles is the only way to brighten up the darker months. I do love the cosy, snowy vibes, but if the south is calling your soul, then do it!! It was done to stop draughts. Houses were not insulated as they are today. Also it cushioned footsteps, especially the heavy-footed ones.

I am so happy to hear that my words have been a small comfort. I really do know the pain of spending this time of year apart from loved ones. I reminded myself often that, in truth, we are all connected and one big family. I would listen to the children laughing and playing in the neighbour's garden (they always had a big Christmas day party with several families invited) and I would just feel their warmth and happiness. It made me feel less alone somehow. Lots of love 🎄xx

I heard the first few lines of this vid a few days ago, understood that it was in celebration of December and saved it for today to watch. Snow and Santa in his fur trimmed gear. Stogy hot food etc jar with our Australian reality so adapting to our own unique experiences and surroundings makes for a much more enjoyable time, where the over arching objective is, all the world around, to come together to share, be thankful, celebrate what we have, and put aside our differences with peace and love. Send it out there for a change in the existing paradigm that will alleviate the suffering of those caught up in the opposite reality

I say this,because we are getting our first snow of the year in my town.
I wish I could send you a pic!!!
Oh,also you mentioned gum nuts.
When I was there in Australia,I found a few on the ground.
I took one,only one.
A few years later,a braided leather ankle bracelet that I made for a friend eventually broke off,and,being a dear friend,she sent it to me,and I replaced it with a new one.
But here’s the magic:
I took that leather ankle bracelet of my friend,combined it with the gum nut,which I made a bead of,and,I own a didjeridu that dates back to the 1940’s,and I placed the leather bracelet,with said nut,around the didjeridu.
This didjeridu is priceless,now made more so by the little gum nut and wisdom infused leather braid that my dear friend carried with her for years!
I wish I could send a photo of that.

I’ll look into it,as this dandelion is feeling his roots pull back deep into frosty soil,retreating from the early setting winter sun,already yearning for the new warmth of the spring to come.

What a beautifully written, even poetic, intro to this video! You do have a talent with words in addition to your artistic talent. I'm in the northern USA and envy you your summer Christmas! You're on target about keeping that beautiful tree up. Or maybe you could put it back up again when your Australian winter descends.
I live in a small cottage, but I have a 6-1/2' living room tree with a 3' tree arriving on Friday for the kitchen (decorated with cupcake and cake ornaments and plenty of lights) along with two branch trees with lights. I use white trees without Santas and other exclusively Christmas decorations so that I don't get sick of them when Christmas is over. I plan to keep all four trees up until mid March, when the thaw comes and the light returns. I live for the spring and summer and should probably move way south. My salvation is to flood my home with plenty of light during the cold, dark seasons.
Oh, I totally agree that a home filled with light and candles is the only way to brighten up the darker months. I do love the cosy, snowy vibes, but if the south is calling your soul, then do it!! And thank you for appreciating my intro, I do love writing them, and letting my inner novelist come out! Merry Christmas 🎄xx
