Great battle report, I'm just starting out and would love to see more of these videos in the same educational format (including Saxons and/ or Normans).
@@RodgeRules The Spanish! I know the crusade book labels them as the hardest. But I always choos factions based on the rule of cool rather than on other factors. Hopefully it wont be a problem
Awesome video - would like more like this format. As a new player, one thing I've found really important to distinguish is that some activations are "free", meaning they don't require a saga die, some activations do not generate fatigue if they normally would, and some activations don't count towards the accumulation of fatigue from later activations of the same unit. These are not the same thing. Now some abilities may have some combination of the above, so it's been important for me to keep these three concepts clear while playing.
Thank you Daniel! You are correct about those different types of activations and will make a special effort to note if any of those apply in future batreps!
Question: turn 3 at 42:43 you used javalins. You stated one of the models was out of range. If it’s out of range can it still generate an attack? So a 12 model unit generates 6 dice but if one is out would it be five?
Hi Chizj! They generate 1 shooting attack for every 2 models and in SAGA you always round up any fractions, so 11 or 12 figures is 6 attack dice, 9 or 10 is 5, etc. Hope that helps!
@1:20:07, how did you gain nine attack dice for sacrificing three berserkers if you can't gain more bonus bonus attack dice than you have figures in your unit (1 fig = 1 dice)?
You can get the info on my figs in the Heathen Show and Tell video. Zach's figs are Wargames Factory plastics (also painted by me and many had their poses converted).
Some abilities are marked with a "+" which indicate the two dice you need to use it. The rest (vast majority) just need a single die so if there are 2 or 3 shown, you can use any of those.
Great video, the community needed that
Thank you!

Great resource, one of the things that drew me into Saga. Thanks for putting this out there and being such a pillar of the community.
Thanks Joshua! Glad it helped get you in to this great game!
One of the best action reports I've seen. Great explanation of the rules as well.
Ooo, thank you!
As someone who is intensely SAGA-curious this was great, thank you!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful!
This is super useful. I'm new to the game. And I want to start with other local friends who haven't played it either. Thx!
Awesome! Glad it's helpful! What faction are you thinking about starting?

I love the way you talk through each step. Very helpful. Thank you.
Thanks Scott! Hopefully you found it helpful! :)
thanks you for this tutorial 😊
Thanks for watching Patrick!
Great video!! In my defense, Intimidation is a great ability!! I mean it can’t go wrong coach!! 😂
Hehe! Very true!
Fantastic head-to-head dice tray, would love to know the maker!

You're confusing Step 2 with Steps 3 and 4 of Melee. Go back and re-read those bits.
anyone know where Rodge got the measuring sticks and tokens?
I'm curious about this information as well.
I've done a couple runs of custom acrylic sticks for sale and events. No plans to do it again anytime soon, unfortunately!
Great video. Thank you.
Awesome, thank you!
i've heard berserkers referred to as "shock troops" in the past. in the event that you dont want to refer to them as suicide squads in the future.
Good to know!
Thank you for the very informative video, Rodge! By the way, where did you get that amazing looking dice box? Was it custom built?
Thank you! It was indeed a custom build. I have a buddy very knowledgeable in such things who put it together!
Where did you find those Viking dice?
A buddy of mine made them. He got out of SAGA, unfortunately, but I was able to get those dice from 'em!
What line of miniatures are you using?
You can get the info on my figs in the Heathen Show and Tell video. Zach's figs are Wargames Factory plastics (also painted by me and many had their poses converted).
How did your opponent activate Noble Lineage when he didn't have all three of those dice? Or does he only need one of those symbols to activate it?
Some abilities are marked with a "+" which indicate the two dice you need to use it. The rest (vast majority) just need a single die so if there are 2 or 3 shown, you can use any of those.
Great video, thank you. Sadly the Link to the scenarios doesn't work
Hello Yahu1105! The scenarios are in the files section of the SAGA THORSDAY Discord. Link to the discord is in the description!
Does SAGA have an official webpage?
Yep, google Studio Tomahawk or click the link in the video description!
More!
Thanks! There will be another batrep in September.
@@RodgeRules Cool. Do you have an opponent who plays Goths? If so, I’d like to put in a request.😉
@@Rapman21 One of my regular opponents is looking at the Franks, Saxons, or Goths so maybe!
@@RodgeRules that would be cool. I’d like to see the Goths handled by someone who knows what they’re doing.
