Love these Battle reports, definitely the best asoiaf content on youtube atm! Is the discord open to join? I would love to have a place to discuss asoiaf lists somewhere :)
Sentinel comes after the attack. The attack is inclusive of both the attack roll and the panic check. Essentially its the same trigger timing as "after an enemy has completed an attack"
Thanks for the clarification! It’s confusing sometimes when the same trigger has different wording. Leads to a lot of unnecessary debate at the table. I’ve seen Sentinel played both ways, but it always seems weird when it interrupts an attack in-progress.
@@imperialminis857 people often mistakenly think that the swing are the attack that causes a panic, but the whole thing (swings and panic) are together the attack. When you keep that in mind the way to play it is clearer. For it to interrupt it will say something like "after rolling attack dice"
Loved this one, got to see a Greyjoy army that I need to try (or at least a variant of it), and a good example of Objective over Murder play by the Martells. There’s absolutely no way I’d have had the self control to keep Starfall Knights parked on an Objective that long!
Glad you enjoyed it Brent! Definitely was a lesson in objective over violence. And Josh had such restraint in keeping that SFK unit on the objective for so long. I wouldn’t have been able to do it!
Another great BR Randall. I agree, those reavers could have got you two VPs that game. Turn two and five. Still fun to watch. What’s this boisterous charisma?
Thanks Tony! Glad you enjoyed it. The Reavers definitely didn’t excel in this match, but that’s entirely on me. They’re a unit with a lot of potential, especially when they can’t be targeted by enemy orders or tactics cards!
I believe it’s from the CMON game night / organized play kit for ASOIAF. Local game stores can get these kits and give them out to support in-store tournaments and events. If your local store got some, maybe they’ll give you one. If they don’t have any, you might be able to ask them if they can order some.
Hey just a heads up, The reavers shouldn’t have gotten that second pillage token off of raiding call, they aren’t a Greyjoy unit anymore because of the GC officer.
A unit can actually have multiple affiliations, so those Reavers were a Golden Company unit *and* still a Greyjoy unit. Picking up a new affiliation doesn’t overwrite the previous one, it adds to it.
Hey Sean, good question, and something I’m still not 100% clear on. But there are a couple of FAQ entries that explain it (somewhat in contradiction). The Balon NCU entry says that attachments are returned when his ability is used. But an entry further up in the document says that once an attachment is destroyed, it’s permanently lost and only generic models can be replaced. So, Qarl died earlier and a generic model replaced him. Then the whole unit died but Qarl was already dead when the unit was destroyed. I think there could be a case for Qarl coming back if he was killed in the attack that destroyed the unit? I’d definitely like to know other folks’ input on this one. Good question!
I believe Balon is an expecting to the attachment getting killed rule. He redploys the unit as they were deployed at the start of the game but with their pillage
Interesting. There aren’t too many situations where two attachments would come back into a resurrected unit outside of Qarl and Reaver Captains, but it’s good to know that Balon is an exception.
If I recall, on the table we could both see, based on the unit positioning, what he would need to roll on the D6, so there wasn’t anything shady going on. It was mostly a time-saving move. We both agreed on the distance at-a-glance. But that’s a good call-out for folks to remember: you need to measure distance from the closest points between both units once the attacking unit is positioned to collide with the defender’s tray.
Always enjoy these battle reports

Where does one get that beautiful Martell Measuring stick? ❤

That’s what I figured. Do you know which kit, specifically?
@@curtisthornock3127 I don't know any specifics on it, aside from the fact that it also came with the Greyjoy ruler (and dice bag).
Awesome! Thank you! Also, nice batrep (should have mentioned that earlier). 🤦♂️
Love your BatReps :)

@@imperialminis857 oh my bad. That’s good to know! Changes the way I’ll look at list building. Thanks! Keep up the great work!
Melkor really should have healed using varys after that shot off the bag in round 2, keep the GCS healthy
gg wp! Squids to the victory 🐙
Why does Qarl not come back?

Martell player should check charge distance on a correct way :P straight forward not from closest to closest

Is it not 2 vp for killing unit with commander?
Not in the Game of Thrones game mode. Just 1 VP for killing any unit.
Your opponent should have just attacked you off swords instead of retreat and at least trade you am for gcs and make you use Balon early.
