The Venice is truly a wonderful, groundbreaking design and a remarkable, impressive camera when you talk strictly about image quality.
The problem is, Arri has the advantage and the reputation, but people will come around, eventually. Anyway, is really excellent to have more competition. It's going to be amazing in the next few years
arri will end up buying sony sensors and image processing and even viewfinders. thats if they are not doing that already
@@kiyoshim9593 I mean, tons of companies do that already in many many different types of businesses, it will be very interesting if they actually do that for cinema cameras.
@@EagerSnake agree. just look at panavision. they cannot even make their own camera bodies now. and are using Red.

No, image quality is as important as ergonomy, on set and postproduction workflow and economical side of whole setup.
The statement at 4:10 is incorrect. Large format does not necessarily mean more photosites. Alexa is actually a good example of it, it is 4.5K meanwhile there are smaller sensor cameras with more photosites. That’s number one. Number two is that more photosites does not mean better light gathering capability. It is actually opposite. The more photosites the smaller they are and can gather less light. I guess what you wanted to say is that since the sensor is larger, then the photosites are larger in comparison to in a smaller sensor of the same resolution.
Bad Boys was shot on SXT & Mini read the tech spec & watch the bts. They did use the Venice too.
have you test footage for these cameras?
Which is better for low light conditions means maximum acceptable iso...
materials from those cameras matches in color gradding? (I know, it´s not the ideal world, but just in case...). thanks for the video...

Very Alexa biased roundup. I bet you use an apple phone because its simpler and has less features too. Basing your idea on which camera is best by the way a camera looks is not objective. I would have liked to see some image comparisons, especially with D.R.
What is it with this revisionist pronunciation of Arri as "Ah-ri" Its Arri with an A as in "apple", not A as in "awe". Ask a German, FFS. Me: Arri owner/user/fanboy since the mid-70s.

Sony's Venice basically "borrowed" RED's ground breaking concept of storing "RAW" data from the sensor along with all the camera information as metadata. Sony is just a huge Japanese company... I doubt they would have been able to come up with this on their own.
