Turbulent VORTEX Demonstration

- In this video you can see the full installation process of our new vortex turbines. They are easy to install even by unskilled workers. As soon as you pop in the CORE component with the turbine and generator, the turbine can be filled with water and will generate energy 24/7 from rivers and canals with low height differences. No maintenance, dirt, sand, mud, leaves, small debris,... everything passes through. Fish can also pass this turbine downstream without being harmed. Our turbines are designed with pressure variations 10X lower than the limit of fishfriendly design. In the future we're planning to make these turbines ALSO passable in the upstream direction.

That fish went for the ride of his life.
Lol
Marlin: I'm coming Nemo!!!
It all depends on the size of the fish ... will be documented before the species that there are ...
It is another stupid animation that has whatever result you want it to. The fish is not real. But then again.... avatars in this 2-d proxy world are not real either.
He's/She's probably an adrenaline junkie.

"If damaged by large debris, a new paint job will solve that easily"
In what world
Whisky & Plums- I was thinking the same thing. I also was wondering the following:
At what cost?
How long would the system be offline while being painted?
It seems like a very expensive project to only provide power to 300 homes.
Poor bloody fish went through hell and lived to tell the tale
Maybe it meant as easy as a new paint job. I know that some of these turbines have a plastic coat to help with damage.
Yesterday I crashed my car. A new paint job have solved that easily.

okay, someone in cities skylines needs to make a mod for this, it seems kinda cool
Its great idea! I was laughting so hard when i seen fish and text: Still alive!
I was hoping for a little Bee Gee's "Staying Alive" at that point....
Nice to see that RUclips’s algorithms are working a treat and providing me videos I want to see..
I’m just glad that fish didn’t die..
Very interesting! I think that these small, less invasive sources of power may just make it possible for individuals to break away from the huge power companies and massive power grids.
Have a dent? Fix it by painting it! Doesn't matter the size or damage, just paint over it and its fine!
If the generator is the only moving part then how did the door lift up?
When did the floor lift up?

@@theragingslushy Oh I thought he said floor.
you typed that first one in the middle of the night dead tired didnt you? XD@@krashsite2125
@@theragingslushy Eh... Sort of.
I'm more concerned about the transportation of these prefabs, as well as the inconsistencies that rivers like those shown in the simulation can produce. Variable weather conditions can affect the flow. If the company is avalable, I am curious at to the solution to this issue.
there are certain tools that result in constant water speed/pressure downstream, independent of the situation upstream. That could be used to combat flooding season e.g.
@@MisterK9739 , thank you for the feedback to my question, it is greatly appreciated.

It would be very nice if we could get an idea of the basic costs of these units. They share just so much info.
So where are the real life examples of it in operation? This means nothing until its put to a practical test.
Just a concept
I've seen similar which provide a about 100ish kW with about 20 handmade ones running in parallel. Handmade, but based on the same design
This looks like a hypothetical demonstration specifically made in gearing up for a real life test, like to geta grant to test it out or something. These things work in stages
Tech insider has a video showing an actual one up and running, literally just watched it when this one popped into my recommended list lol
Just search water turbine generator
Fish Bro is my fav part of the whole video xd
This video was recommended and I find it very clever !!!
I love ideas to protect earth 🌏
No it wouldn’t work it’s dumb
Interesting idea. Maybe in small towns this could work.
My town didn't have this we only have DIRT not
It would be great for farms and cabins that had nearby running water.
Its a good concept but before claiming power supply capability it needs to go through control testing to measure average output and required water volume for steady power. Without that data its just a 3D model with no real reason for implementation
I like how fish go through the turbulent vortex line lol
That fish is in another dimension now.
Looks like a toilet bowl water slide for fish...
We need to fund this ASAP
Cool animation, also made like this in our canal
All jokes aside this is a great idea
Great idea but still needs a filter barrier before the turbine to protect from large objects
Definitely
Could just add a filter gate to your initial water supply. Clean it daily/weekly and take the trash out of your local water supply.
It'd be more work, but it'd help pollution, too.
Bibi. ho. to. aeisi
That could be easily accomplished with a “y” or “dual” inlet that would allow you to close and clean one while the other remained open.
0:29 wall: i'm outta here.........
Brilliant yet so simple
The animated fish is still alive!
Idk why this is in my recommended but that generator is an interesting contraption!
This is very interesting. Fortunately, fish come out healty. I was already worried about the fish that he dies. I just thought so: The poor fish😭😭But everything went well. Greetings from Germany! Subscribed, liked and the bell activated!
I will recommend using mesh as a filter, to prevent risks.
I thought this was going to show something real. Anything looks good in animation, but in real life...
Hard to believe a paint job would make everything okay again.
Here is a real demonstration

Nicely done.
Very nice idea
I love the character design
RUclips recommendations killing it rn.
I didn't see anything wrong until you said it could power 300 homes. That is a complete and utter lie
Perhaps. We have a diesel generator at work that could power around 30-35 homes so it seems plausible that a river current could produce a lot more power.
What if the turbine is as big as your house
Indeed. You don't know how much 'homes' use. Use the amount of Watt instead.
The average home will use no more than 5KW at a time so times that by 300 and this will give this an output of 1.5MW. So it could be possible.
300 homes in Africa or Eastern Europe maybe, Western Europe or North America? Nope
What an excellent idea

this is not new and was used in the industrial age in minneapolis powering general mills and providing flower for the country. but still a good idea to follow 😉
Ever been to the mill city museum? It's great.

Water wheel don’t need extensive earthworks, and complex ducts. That is probably why so many were used compared to this...
Don't really care too much about this, but the song is an absolute bop.
So, why haven't a million of these been built yet?
This is harnessing energy from whirlpool
Pretty cool!
Good idea! Release the river!
This or similar idea would be good to apply in fast running flood surface water and use the produced energy to pump large amounts of omnipresent flood water to large reservoirs for future use. It's sad to see flood water be wasted in Australia for example!
I’d love to see these in waterstreams near me
Now I have the urge to buy a hydropower plant
Genius idea: add a mesh where you knocked out the wall so large debree and fish dont get there in the first place
Good idea when it will released

its all fine and dandy until heavy rains flood the area XD or erosion weakens concrete.
Gabriel Moreno Good point! The whole thing gets caked with mud and sticks or washes away
Aside from all the jokes this looks pretty cool
Cool idea...
I'm not an engineer but what if sand or very small debris is deposited in the turbine?
That'd increase the friction and lower your power output.
Edit:
That seems unsolvable to me unless you install a filter for the water that enters your canal.
But that also means no fish in the canal.
It says its sand resistant
Very nice
Good👍
This is new things for 2019
Good idea but how do you get the electricity from it? In most Flow applications, can this generate higher output with a narrower but faster inflow? OR wider slower flow but more windings in the generator? This will all stop in a drought though.
You have an eletric engine strapped onto the turbine, it creates energy based more on torque than on speed of the turbine
ted brown nor would it work in the middle of the desert, or on the moon or ...I’m sure the engineers would plan out location using more info than just, “hey, there’s water here”. Sorry, didn’t mean to sound like a troll! Your point is completely valid , just struck me as pointing out the obvious. Have a good day!
HOW MUCH IS THE MACHINE? THANKS WE LOVE THE PRODUCT...
They've reinvented the water wheel
This simple apparatus will only work when the river doesn't run dry, and is always stable enough to maintain the necessary torque to spin the turbine propeller.
Power 300 homes using one 10 watt light bulb (LED)

So nice
Would it be better if there was like a screen at the beginning so that fish or rocks can not get in?
Molto bene grazie , Evitaeterna.
Now are we sure that the fish can make it through this blender completely unharmed?
Use longitudinal siphoning so we got extra energy against gravitational pull
Helpful.
If damaged by larger debris a new coat of paint will fix that
Okno

How fast most the water be flowing for this to work?

It is very similar to Kaplan turbine. But this one called 'Vortex turbine". Please explain how are they different?

All about that positive social inpact.
the same but 10 times smaller. would that be possible?
Hola, me gustaría obtener mayor información para realizar una prueba en el Valle de Rio Negro Neuquen, Argentina.
This looks like it would accumulate debris, sand and dirt really fast
@Turbulent Hydro: Do you work with Brazil?
The problem with small hydroelectric plants is always the flooding of rivers and streams. The increased flow of water ends up destroying everything in its path.
Lools like mini golf not gonna lie
Can u please mention which animation software is used to make this videos.
