Monstrous whirlpool in parish Dviete, Latvia swallows everything in its path. Swallowing everything dragged towards its direction, this monstrous whirlpool looks as if a plug has been pulled from the ground beneath.

I was floating down the Copper river in Alaska years ago with one other person. The current of the river was so strong it took us toward a giant whirlpool that was 30 feet across. We paddled with everything we had to avoid being sucked into the middle. We were able to skirt through the outer edge. We sure didn’t wNt to find out where that whirlpool would go.

You got lucky. If you didn't paddle fast enough that whirlpool would've sucked you under the water and won't let you out

This is a drain that goes under a road and out of the other side. The drain is off camera and the whirlpool current is actually "bending" sideways and extending for many feet outwards and drawing the water in. So you see a whirlpool on the top of the water, but it would actually pull you underneath in a spiraling current, through a pipe (probably a foot or two in diameter) leading under the roadway and throw you out of the other side of the road into the water that is discharging there. This is why "anything" can go into it. The force of the water is extruding it through the pipe. Ice gets pulled under, crashes against the pipe and breaks into pieces...and it is sucked through the pipe since the pieces are smaller. It all goes out of the other side.

Amazing video. Every time I saw the huge pieces of ice rushing towards the whirlpool, I thought for certain that they would clog the drain, but such is the incredible force of the water going down the drain, it ended up swallowing them effortlessly.
I don’t know where this particular drain leads to, but I’m betting that wherever the drain ultimately dumps out, the water must be blasting out with awesome power and velocity!

Actually, there is a way to survive this. If you can swim, then you just need to get to the very bottom of that, and then swim underwater close to the ground away from that whirlpool and then swim back up at the safe distance. If you are good swimmer.
Of course a lot of things can happen, you can choke and it will be more problematic in very deep river cause you might not be able to hold breath for so long.

This is not the result of 2 opposing steams of water, this is a drain emptying possibly into a mine or some underground river. The hydrodynamics will crush virtually anything that gets in its way, and the materials help make the drain hole larger. These guys are standing on dangerous ground.
