6:34 I just realized gravity is just an object spinning really fast and going past a certain spinning speed that you start to stick and balance out instead of being flung away. If I was the lego man in that sphere, I would eventually regain my bearings and stand while looking around the incredible spectale of a water world all round me. Earth is really marvelous.
I'd like to add: This is also why most space stations in SF are wheels or giant tubes. Because they would be very big even relative slow rotation would stick you to the rim and simulate gravity. Spin faster and you get more g. A mars fight could really do with a gravity spin ring for the crews health.
That is centrifugal force, which can only occur when inside of something, like a ring or like in this vid, a sphere. Gravity is not caused by spinning, but instead the mass of an object.

I especially love the use of analog sticks. It allows for some quick, but precise changes in the force/rpm of the drive wheels and you can see how that results in some REALLY cool changes in the angle of the water.
But, what I really wanna know is where you got the plastic shells from?! I need some for a project!
Mmm lego is cool
Neat
lego nice
Check the description for a link to where you can buy the sphere.
I like how this entire comment section doesn't answer the question or add onto anything because none of us understood what dude just said.
It's like watching a nuclear physicist explain a reactor and them asking "Any questions?"
2:46 Nice catch
As usual, this guy absolutely nailed it, the problem solving is always amazing to watch. Keep it up my guy.
I love the fact that this contraption is completely pointless yet I am deeply invested in its development.
Nope, it's not pointless. It may become a next step in the laboratory centrifuge tech.
This is gotta be one of the coolest things you've done. Imagine this with glowstick liquid... or at least LED lights because I'd assume you wouldn't wanna risk that spilling all over your place if the ball breaks.
Yooo I was thinking the same thing, some some kind of luminescent dye to put in the water?
Sparkling water glows under a glow light.
@@jasper1529 i thought that was specifically tonic water because of the quinine?
@@freaquin isn't that what sparkling water is?
@@jasper1529 nope. sparkling water is just carbonated water.
It’s stunning. Amazing work! The way you engineered it…I’m speechless.
this truly blows my mind! one of my favorite projects you've built so far!
After your drum video I was like, "ugh, fine. I'll finally watch your vortex video..." What the hell?! This is nuts. And you beat me to it in your final scene. I was about to ask how many legos were melted in the making of this video. Looks like only 4? Impressive!
Quite a nice way to visualize, fluid dynamics 😁.
Different liquid densities would have been nice to see as well. Nice video!
Would Lego be able to handle higher densities?
@@Arinussy absolutely not. the dihydrogen oxide (water) was already pushing the limits
@@rawtrout007 I'm sure it could, but it would need a larger mechanism with stronger motors, and possibly a stronger ball to hold it in. The structure itself would definitely need some tweaks as well.
@@rawtrout007 there are less dense liquids than water
@@myrealusername2193 did you not read the question tho?
All these videos start off with a simple experiment and then progress into something like, "Let's see if we can distort space time and open a portal to another dimension and fuel it with a black hole"
I love how it just becomes trippy eyecandy toward the end. Great music there too, love this!
Man’s out here building the kind of machines you see in mad scientist labs or evil villain lairs. Dudes a master builder like in the Lego Movies.
i love this channnel for three reasons:
1-Never clickbaits us
2-Lego experiments
3-Litte bit of fun , not too much
This is like the Minecraft builds that have the most confusing tutorials. This is sick dude, keep up the work.
I love the way how you always advance in something better
5:52 opera GX confermd
Bruh I would love a vid with shots of the water spinning in different ways with chill music over it for hours, this is sooooo freaking dope!
So this is how Opera GX got its logo
._.
I was looking for this comment
Great stuff, with a lot more soul than other Lego building channels!
The fact that you could probably make a motor strong enough to power a drill is impressive.
There is no escape, no recall or intervention can work in this place
@@在金框 what grand and intoxicating innocence
5:47 This is how Sauron forged the One Ring.
Clear liquid but with RGB lights under the ball
6:34 I just realized gravity is just an object spinning really fast and going past a certain spinning speed that you start to stick and balance out instead of being flung away. If I was the lego man in that sphere, I would eventually regain my bearings and stand while looking around the incredible spectale of a water world all round me. Earth is really marvelous.
I'd like to add:
This is also why most space stations in SF are wheels or giant tubes.
Because they would be very big even relative slow rotation would stick you to the rim and simulate gravity.
Spin faster and you get more g.
A mars fight could really do with a gravity spin ring for the crews health.
Sooo... Mercury?
That is centrifugal force, which can only occur when inside of something, like a ring or like in this vid, a sphere. Gravity is not caused by spinning, but instead the mass of an object.
@@darthclanker6856 Gravity is fundamentally electromagnetic
I thought gravity is caused by the universe expanding. Every atom is expanding and pushing on each other and the more mass, the more push?
With every passing day, we get one step closer to a lego particle accelerator.
Lego time machine
Idk why but one of my favourite parts is how clean all ur builds look, they are incredibly sturdy, only as complex as they have to be, and the grey colour palette makes them look so cool.
I feel like this is something teachers could do in highschool or something to explain something about phyisics(idk what exactly but im pretty sure it is something)
This video gets hilariously more interesting throughout. Amazing work
I just found this channel and I am absolutely blown away. The thought to do this and then building it with legos no less. Can't wait to see what else there is on the channel.
That last one looks like it could be used in a big ass space set as a warp core....so freaking cool !!!
Had some serious Flight of The Navigator flashbacks, this explains how they did one of the special effects! Very cool!
This is one of your most interesting creations to date, I love it!
So many cool engineering topics in this machine! Fluid dynamics, structural damping (gave me a bit of PTSD flashbacks to my seismic design course), finding the right spring stiffness etc. Your videos are amazing, no commentary, clear and aesthetic color scheme, educational!
If you reduce the motor noise, add some cool lighting this thing will make an excellent desktop lamp.
bro made a futuristic washing machine out of legos
It's satisfying to see someone use the full potential of puzzles+logic
The things you can do with lego and masters in engineering are insane
1:12 CAT REVEAL, CAT REVEAL
True!
True
Spin cat time
that's a definitely a cat
Adorable
The thing I love about these videos is that he doesn’t start with a “like and subscribe to this video or this big spider will be in your bed tonight!” And he is no commentary which is just nice 😊
