Actually the chaos globe design is hard to control because that style of design is intended to be controlled by varying the speed of each pair of wheels instead of simply turning one set or both sets on.
It kind of makes you connected to the robots in a way. My favorite of this whole video was when number 2 got out into the world and explored. I actually want a sequel!
Man, your are not only a lego genius, you are also gifted for film editing. It reminds me the best stop motion movies I have watched : plenty of humour and a perfect sense of rythme
I want more characters. We need a super villain for the series. Maybe it could be the two cats? Maybe the cats force the roballs to compete in a series of challenges? Maybe there could be more roballs? Maybe there could be an angry roball that looks like a hamster in a ball, and they could be called H.A.M.S.T.E.R?
Season 2, finally has them getting manipulator arms to gain more flexibility in interactive with the world. The spherical shell opens to allow the arm to extend and retract back insider--or they get outer frames to allow them to move while having arms attached.
I feel like they come straight out of a jrpg. I wouldn't mind going around a world inhabited by these guys, doing some battles, exploring nature and doing puzzles which are specifically hard for balls or only doable BECAUSE they are balls.
Really enjoy the new creative directions with your videos, they're great fun and full of personality! Your original more minimalist style melds surprisingly well with it as well. Also, terrific builds, the eyes on Angry Pete were brilliant, and number 2 looks like its having the time of its life. Number three did its best, and we love it for it.
@@alexmijo Yeah I forgot the name of the poor chaos globe... I realized shortly after the comment when rewatching but meh, didn't expect it to get lots of likes and didn't feel like editing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I must live with this mistake, and everyone else must suffer it with me.
Maybe a multi-terrain shell, one that works on flatish ground and water, maybe add small fins or a scoop-like outer shell, with small angled holes to scoop water while remaining effective on ground in theory
@@NAWNAW-ge8rd the company sphero has made these toys before that are controlled by phones, their more costly ones are water proof but since they run on Bluetooth they cant be driven under water
@@itstheV01D Hey I have one of those! They do float on water so reception is not an issue. They do move quite slowly due to low friction of their smooth shells, I think maybe adding paddles to the sphere will improve speed.
For the omnidirectional one, you might want to try using omni wheels. They're wheels with perpendicular wheels around their circumference. In FIRST robotics, we used these for a "halonomic" drivetrain, which had very little pushing power but perfect omnidirectional travel. If you look at robots that balance on spheres, they often use the same thing so that the wheels don't fight against each other
my team's robot used mecanum wheels, very similar to omni but the rollers are set at an angle to allow for torque in every direction while maintaining typical tank-style controls and layout with added strafing. being in FIRST i'm sure you've at least seen these. although i'd agree for this application, omni wheels would likely work better.

This is the most adorable Lego technic video I’ve ever seen, and I did not expect it to end with number 2 exploring nature, which is just the cutest thing ever. This is amazing.

This may be a bit outside of the intent, but I'd like to see Angry Pete set up with each hemisphere able to turn separately. If you make him just ever so slightly wider - probably only one or two studs - you should be able to accomplish this. This will give him a zero-turn radius, and it should make him the easiest to control.

What I'm describing would be similar, except each hemisphere is controlled separately. So, that means that, unlike Number 2, it would have to pivot to change directions while stopped. This would allow turning while moving to be much easier, as you can simply speed up or slow down one hemisphere to turn the sphere. Did that make sense?

So while you would technically be able to do a zero point turn, there would be almost zero friction for that turn to take place upon.

If you separate the halves, each one will have, at minimum, a point contact. So, if you consider that they're now more flexible, you've at least doubled the contact patch.

Where you live is sooooo gorgeous... where in the world is it? The rock-cliffs... the green vegetation, the beautiful rock walls... and the coastline with the steep ridges in the distance... omg I just LOVE it.
The sheer perfection of the stabilisation of that GoPro footage!. Super impressed it came out as nicely as it did considering what the original must have looked like.
Chaos globe might do with some IMU feedback to allow for a consistent "forward" direction. You could allow that forward angle to change based on joystick input and make it control like an RC car similar to the others. More complicated, but it might end up being the most versatile.
Some things I've thought about during "the voyage of #2"... - Will it swim? Or die trying? - Is that the reason why bricks from chinese manufacturers are so scratched when they arrive here? - Will someone introduce Qi wireless loading for an akku box some day? - Will Lego bring back those metal weights with studs on top (from ships or other models)? - How many batteries lost their lifes during the filming of #2's voyage? - Why is that channel so awesome?
I love all the sophisticated design work that goes into these, followed by the ball popping open, and the solution being "ehh just slap some tape on it"

Never thought I would get emotionally attached to an orb but here we are, screaming no at the top of my lungs whenever number 2 was broken, and then feeling so proud when he discovered the true meaning of life
Recommendation: You should make another one of these, but make it watertight and have it somehow use external fins/propellers to move itself across water. I think that would be really cool too see! Maybe even make it so you can control the gopro inside the sphere so you can view anything under water!

Genius vidéo, it’s awesome how you create some lore just by adding challenges to complete by your creations, that kind of melancholic ending was very welcomed, and your humor works very well in this video, so a big bravo for that. However I’m not a fan of the new editing of the building process, it was a bit too fast and not very clear how you were building the robots, and there’s some weirdness in the songs editing like the volume and when a song ends. Otherwise really great video I absolutely enjoyed it!
Even though Number 2 was significantly slower, significantly weaker, and significantly more fragile than those it was paired up against, Number 2 had one *gift* that trumped anything the other two could produce. Number 2 could *perceive.* Number 2 could *see.* Number 2 could admire the world, acknowledge fault, and find a love of nature. Number 2 could perceive. Number 2 could understand. Number 2 could *love.* ...nah, it's just a lego contraption. But it's fun to think about :)
Such a creative video! I was half expecting someone in a dinosaur suit to show up and eat the poor little dude wandering in the woods like that. For me it was a Total throwback to Jurassic World lol.

I did nothing to stabilise it, it is a gopro hero 8 feature

Even though Number 2 was significantly slower, significantly weaker, and significantly more fragile than those it was paired up against, Number 2 had one *gift* that trumped anything the other two could produce.
Number 2 could *perceive.* Number 2 could *see.* Number 2 could admire the world, acknowledge fault, and find a love of nature. Number 2 could perceive. Number 2 could understand. Number 2 could *love.*
...nah, it's just a lego contraption. But it's fun to think about :)

Such a creative video! I was half expecting someone in a dinosaur suit to show up and eat the poor little dude wandering in the woods like that. For me it was a Total throwback to Jurassic World lol.
