I want to thank my friend Daniel, who not only held the tea cup but also helped me film the final part of the video at his house. Another big thanks goes to Buwizz, who supplied me with these amazing Bluetooth battery boxes for this project. Check them out here: buwizz.com/ This video took way too much time to make, but I wanted to build “The Lego Tank” we all dreamed of making as kids. At least, that was my intention. What turned out instead is an overengineered beast with too many mechanisms that failed frequently-especially the shooting mechanism, which took me over a year to build and failed a lot while filming. That’s why I hesitate to make instructions for my builds. I nearly broke my fingers trying to put the parts back together! Anyway, thanks for watching and reading. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! And please, don’t destroy pictures of your mother-in-law.
I cant belive he is coming up with those and taking his time to make them for us. Not everyone can do this, its a special talent. Keep up the good work
Well its either that or we invest in the front-grill chainsaw attachment. Or the fender flamethrowers. It just makes more economic sense to give the turrets some more range of motion. Keeps the front cleaner too. The blood kind of atomizes instead of spraying all over the mechanisms and stuff.
The only reason this man hasn't used his powers for supervillainy is because this amount of LEGO already _requires_ millions of dollars, so it's an unsustainable business model.
@Maninjort kinda doubt it. If you know, one particular small detail that you absolutely need for your build, can be presented only in one obscure lego set, and theres just one detail in this set, but you need like 20. I'd bet if you want to build this tank, you should buy at least about 5000$ of lego, of course he has it through years of collecting lego, but still
The best youll get is instructions. Which you can (meticulously) copy from the video. With cheap bricks (The motor bricks will never be cheap, 20$ minimum for each) you can anticipate a full build to cost roughly 800 dollars on the low end. And 3000 on the high end. Depends where you source your parts, if you care about Lego purity or not, and if you are okay with secondhand motor parts.
I'd love to see a followup video of the tank going over more obstacles. The suspension system looks incredible and I'd love to see it pushed to its limits.
Not only is this one of the coolest projects I've seen, it's being presented in one of the most well-produced lego engineering videos I've ever watched
I believe this is your most complex design yet? The amount of time to design, build, improve, record, post production...is insane. Even the custom lathe like thing to show how you built the weapon. We all thank you for this content! Decimating the diner and glass vase was too fun!
I like the thought to add turret depression so he could aim the gun at the target directly in front of the tank. Overall a very cool design, I wish I had the time and legos to build like that.
Wow, that was quite impressive and technically complex. I don't see it as over-engineered even, because each complex part has a clear function necessary for remote operation without having to fiddle with anything. I wonder how powerful this design could be if you were to use actual metal and composite-plastic parts and proper RV radio systems.
This is amazing! I'm literally a few click away from buying a RC lego build kit from Amazon to bring my sons lego to life. Thank you for the inspiration. Well done
Absolutely a banger of a video... One of your best... Also I love how technically complex the tank was and how he showed every step along the way... I did have to turn down the playback speed, because it was a little too fast, but besides that, this was an awesome video... Very entertaining.

Amazing how you manage to pack all those engineering principles, demonstrations of your (very ingenious) design choices and even a bit of humor in these immaculate videos. I have a huge amount of respect for creators like you.
I love the way you've filmed this, for how quickly you go through the build process, it's VERY easy to follow along and understand what you're thinking. I love it!
I love the idea of the turret being able to raise and lower, expanding its range of elevation and lowering its storage profile for transport. Legitimately something I can see being experimented with on real-life tanks
I feel like if I just had a glossary of physics and engineering terminology I could basically get an engineering degree from this. It's the same mechanisms used in real vehicles and an excellent demonstration of how they work and why they are used.
@@John_Smith_86 Alot of those are not things too applicable to Lego however. Lego consists of 1-3 materials, mostly ABS. Legos cannot be water-tight and are assembled via friction based interlocking, which means aerodynamics and fluid dynamics are kind of meaningless at higher speeds where they become more important, the parts would just sheer off. And thermodynamics doesnt really apply since these mechanisms dont run off of combustion reactions or the like, but simple electricity. Maybe if there was a solar panel, but thats still a weak demonstration that would only show power consumption metrics. Without bricks being airtight, you cannot meaningfully make a combustive system or measure it. Potentially with the pneumatic tubes, but thats been done already.
Lego literally cancelled an already in production aircraft model because they realized there were no civilian variants. The v22 osprey is solely a military craft and Lego has an internal policy to not make military/war related sets. Even tho the LEGO model was decorated like a civilian version, and even tho they had already released it, they cancelled it because of this policy/stance.

Sadly too dangerous for kids... The motors are from a 3rd-party manufacturer because they are too powerful for the official Lego brand. But it would be a clever idea to publish or sell his assembly instructions.
