    I did recruits with this man, what he failed to mention was his unwavering willingness to succeed and adapt where necessary, once he was under my direction and as a “poor 19 year old” it was a credit to his character to see him take it in his stride and work with me in ways he would have never normally considered. He also loves a bit of cheeky full auto out field. Well done Sal

    Very informative session Brodie. I'm enlisting as a CETECH next week. This is the only video that gave me a full picture of what I'm about to face. For the love of good health and lifestyle, I'm going to actively take part in all activities and possibly come out stronger. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart for doing this interview. Regards to Tim for taking the time in explaining everything beautifully.
    Keep up the good work.

    Super helpful video for upcoming enlistment into the RAAF! Thanks guys! What exactly are the "Pickets"? 1:06:00
    Also for the BFA, you mentioned you can choose between a bar hang and the pushups - I've heard you can also pick between the 2.4km run or a walk (long distance) in under 30 minutes, is that true?

    • @outperformfitness
      @outperformfitness  Год назад +3

      Picket is when you have to stay awake for some sort of duty to keep an eye on something. E.g. listen to a radio, watch for enemy, keep a fire going / under control, guard ammunition / weapons etc.
      For RAAF it's a PFT rather than BFA (army). Yes you have a choice between push ups and arm hangs then a choice of cardio element but there won't always be an option during some PT sessions. Better off aiming for the hardest and knowing you can easily pass. Remember that the pass marks are meant to be sub maximal efforts so you should be able to reach much higher if you go for max effort

      And then the bloke on picket calls 'Stand to!' At 0200 but turned out to be a bloody Kangaroo...🤣😅 #WaggaWinterFun

    I wish I could ask Tim some questions about the trade training for NETECH. Like if you are able to be officially certified with civilian recognised certifications as part of your training pipeline. This is something that was decidedly missing from my experience in the UK Royal Navy in a similar role.

      Sorry I can't answer that one for you but if you get in contact with Defence Force Recruiting they would be able to answer it for you

      Agreed, civilian accreditation would certainly be considered by DFR, but there are many considerations that lead to your selectability for enlistment as an Aviator. Speak to your recruitment advisor in the first instance 😊

    i enlist in the navy in just under 4 weeks, i have past the pre enlistment fitness test easily but still think i'm gonna struggle once i arrive at Cerberus

      4 weeks can still produce a good amount of fitness. Don't stress

    I'm Class 3R currently. Talk about being concerned that I may be knocked back. Hearing old mate, have a Class 4, is a positive (that he enlisted).

      hi, I don’t know if you’re already going through by the time you read this but Oakley have some gucci ballistic prescription glasses that you can order through any OPSM or whatever.
      I wore my Oakleys instead of the issued inserts as I find the issued Wiley RX inserts tend to fog up in the field.
      Hope this helps
