And then the Hornet flew over to drop a couple of bombs on target because sometimes artillery isn't enough. Apprarently!

That was so cool! I saw the hornets from my house and now I’ve seen my suburb and my city from all sorts of new angles. Thanks RAAF and Brisbane for the wonder and whimsy of Riverfire.
Wow, thanks for posting this. I've seen it from the ground many times but to see it from the cockpit is amazing! Flying below the level of the buildings down the river, and then the final straight up! You must be pulling 4-5 Gs there? Cheers for entertaining millions of Brisbanites over the years. Take us out of our worries for an afternoon! 🙂🙂 (I'd put the salute emoji but RUclips doesn't support it anymore.)
Wonderful precision flying. Well done to the entire flight crew. Pilot , exemplary skills there officer. Like others, thank you for keeping our country safe.
Thank you for sharing your office RAAF. Some see one pilot and one plane, but behind this there is logistics and the ground crew supporting this event. So much goes behind the scenes to keep these planes flying. So thank you. Great event!
From an old ex-RAAFie (115 pilots course) thanks so much for posting this. Brilliant to see this perspective -the guys and girls that fly for our country do a spectacular job! Very proud.
I do a work run in my semi out to Coominya each day. Love seeing the Air Force flying in and out of Amberley. I’m like a little kid when I hear them or spot them.
And there's me, on the ground at Riverfire, having travelled from Ipswich, to Brisbane, to see the boys from Amberley do their thing. I only get to see and hear them every day in Ipswich. 😂
Now that’s one nice ride 🛩️ My Dad was a Wing Commander in RAAF Laverton VIC in the early 70’s 😃We lived on the base I absolutely loved it Totally love planes ✈️ ❤🎉 thanks that was totally awesome 👏
Idk why, but I really like the Super Hornet, it’s the aircraft I’m hoping to fly in the future. Very excited for when I do work experience and start aafc, seeing all this cockpit footage from the RAAF is a big motivator for me for the future! ❤
I was working for SES at Riverfire, the part where they pull up hard, the last one, I was directly under the jet, if the jet was to fall i'd be inside the engine, it was so cool
Thank you for taking us along for the ride. I replayed it several times, slowing it down each time so that it’s easier for me to spot my apartment on the West End😄👍👍
Fantastic stuff guys, awesome to watch !! Any chance next year we can see a split screen , seeing both this of pilots and forward vision out front of cockpit???
Absolutely brilliant, one wish I have is that 2 or 3 of the RAAF media team are stationed on top of the appropriate skyscrapers for the fly by below the rooftop and filming them top down. It would make for the Brisbane City version of the mach loop in short form. The flying skill is great.
On the Friday you must of been practicing, I was watching and was next to a group of people with some young children, the first time you went past the young boy started to cry and I noticed and said it is very loud isn’t it, the mother replied yes his uncle Nick said it would be, he was crying but looked very proud.
Australia may not have the most powerful air force in the world. But it sure does have the coolest and most badass airshows in the world. This is why I love Brisbane.
It was so awesome to watch this guy in action flying over my place on the day of river fire, only down fall was it was so loud, my cat wouldn't come out from under the bed, and jumped every time a plane flew over for days after
They fly past my office every year at River fire. The pilot looked so calm and relaxed. It is incredibly hard to be accepted as a RAAF pilot let alone in a Super Hornet or F 35.
I still remember watching the very first River Fire F1-11 D&B back in '98 with my ex from our studio-unit balcony at the top of Bonney Ave, in Clayfield. Back then there was almost a fully uninterrupted and panoramic view from there when looking down to Albion, towards the Valley and across to the city skyline including the Story Bridge then all the way around to Mt Cootha, the night was warm, super clear and very still, he didn't shut down the burner until he must've been well over Moreton Bay, it lit up the entire inner Northern and inner Western suburbs for as far as we could see and most likely all of the Bayside suburbs too, the awesome sound and it's window rattling reverberations definately made it all an amazing experience I'll never forget!🇦🇺👍🔥
As an American, I would love to watch Australian pilots learn to land on our flat tops aka carriers. It would add to their already impressive skill set. Fantastic footage 👏
