Were you once a fast jet military pilot or do you just envy him. I for one do not understand how anyone that use to fly something like an F18 could, on leaving the military ever settle in to the somewhat tedious job of an airline pilot. I guess they need to feed their kids like everyone else.
Knowing my son has now joined the RAAF, based out at Amberley and working with these amazing people, truly makes my heart sing with pride. That was spectacular!!
The look of relaxation in his eyes as he rolls out after the climb out is notable! That looked a lot more stressful than most people probably imagine. Being able to pick out your exact route at those speeds amongst all the ground clutter is impressive. There were a couple of very awkwardly located cranes on his run in. One wrong move and he's in all sorts of trouble.
Yeah the crane thing, nerves of steel. Why do they always fly the good stuff around the Brisbane River, they have globe masters doing sik dowiezz there 😂
Can you just imagine the G,s he’s pulling following the bend in the river at Southbank and the Botanic Gardens and the Story Bridge?? Absolutely amazing, hats off to all our military personnel🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is the COOLEST FOOTAGE I have ever seen. This is one of those, it only happens in Brisbane kind of things. They are so damn Loud outside on the Street, yet quiet in side the cockpit. Thank you RAAF.
7:25 unreal! Well done man! You’ve studied, worked and trained super hard and really got the best out of yourself and that is inspiring to all of us! Keep up the great work!
Awesome. I spent my days in the ADF on the ground in the Infantry but I always salute RAAF and our boys in the sky. Air Movements always hauled my raggedy arse around safely. I'll never forget the night when I was with Joint Task Force 112 at the closing of the Sydney Olympics when an F-111 did a vertical climb on afterburner. Off duty at the time but we seen it from Holsworthy barracks and it turned night into day...
The practice looked awesome and the pull out and burn when viewed from the airport (we were flying out to Perth as the run ended) looked like an X-wing going stellar. 10 out 10
Humble Apologies... THANK YOU 🙏 TO ALL that SERVED, every time WE go to war, it's always something different.. But that was our longest.. Vets & families need better support..
the sound of freedom. amazing stuff. we live on Tambo Mt and you guys buzz our house 2-3 times a week, my kids and I love seeing you come over on the way back to Amberley .
I live at flinders view and am lucky to hear / see the guys and girls fly nearly on the daily. Absolutely love it! Good to see what it looks like from inside instead of always watching from the ground!
High skill. Precision planning and execution and no room for error means, a higher skilled pilot making it all happen up there with brilliance. Absolutely amazing job. So grateful to you all for your hard work and dedicated efforts to be the best in protecting our nation. Thank you. WOW. What amazing technology. WOW . Having heard you from the ground before, I just love the growlers
Brilliant video capturing the stress on the pilot. I love watching the test runs from my house in bulimia.. I never realised that bit of mist coming off the aircraft wings as they change angles and altitudes was so hard on the pilot. Well done love every part of riverfire.. and also thankyou to all service men any woman.
An airshow that *cannot* go wrong - it's crazy every time, but we love it. And it's great to see the pilot's side of things as well, thanks for sharing!
The concentration on his face and alertness just goes to show how good these guys are, amazing work guys thanks, super impressed on the day some of those turns were so tight.
If I’m working in the city, I always forget about the practice run for Riverfire one or two days before. It never fails to scare the s**t out of me. I love it. Puts a big smile on my face every year. This officer has my dream job. Well done sir.
This is fantastic! Please post more of these!!! One suggestion though is to maybe use a 360 degree camera so we can pan around the video while it's playing. Thank you for sharing and for the work you all do to make this possible!
Ahh, the days when one balance publicity against not flying in to the side of a building.... :) Well done to the pilot. Still miss the sights and sounds of the F-111's.
Really enjoyed watching this as we were on the MiCat (Moreton Bay Ferry ) directly positioned under the Storey Bridge when he goes vertical. At the time I thought “wow” now seeing it from the drivers seat !1 - double “wow”……. Great afternoon out. Would love to have the back seat for a run…..
By sheer luck I happened to be driving over the Story Bridge for the last pass. Won’t forget seeing this thing heading towards me before pitching into that climb on full ABs!
Got to see the practice run today in 2024 for the first time and it was amazing. Thank you to the pilots for doing an amazing job and thank you RAF for posting the cockpit view showing the pilots at work. Brilliant all round. Love it ❤
Man, fighter jets are so intense... I was hanging on to my seat just watching that. Huge respect for pilots; you'd have to be a genius with all they have to learn.
Amazing video. It wasn’t until nearly the end that there is another person 8n the back. You can see how he has to breathe hard and how his body is cop8ng with the force when he guns it. You can also see and feel the power of that thing. Thank you for your service pilot.
every year I am so intrigued by what kind of paperwork and health and safety goes into things like this (don't get me wrong I love the flybys, and i still remember that Hercules a few years back flying past BELOW our office level hahaha) but with what construction site safety regs are like these days, I can't even imagine what goes into flying a plane through a packed city below crane and building level!
I been in one of those buildings in Brisbane on the 23rd floor during Riverfire and it is a site to behold when you are looking down on the Jets as pass by.
This is the best in cabin flight footage I’ve ever seen! Really shows the extreme stress the airframe and pilots experience.
Well said I agree
Check out their in cockpit footage from The Pacific Airshow Goldcoast, you see how much turbulence shakes the cabin.
Look at 3:54 and 7:23 - you see just how close they're getting to structures. Their concentration is immense.
Lol. During what? His 4G turn? 🙄
I feel blessed to see this, watched these flyovers a few years now.
Amazing! I am an Airbus driver, I live in Brisbane and I have the privilege to appreciate the job of this great guy. Honestly, I envy him.
Were you once a fast jet military pilot or do you just envy him. I for one do not understand how anyone that use to fly something like an F18 could, on leaving the military ever settle in to the somewhat tedious job of an airline pilot. I guess they need to feed their kids like everyone else.

F111 is truly a beast.
Knowing my son has now joined the RAAF, based out at Amberley and working with these amazing people, truly makes my heart sing with pride. That was spectacular!!
This is the best cabin flight video I’ve ever seen. Clearly see the pilot’s face. They are surely a different breed and a huge respect for them.
They are indeed a special breed. Big iq, quick reflexes and a very high processing rate brain.
I am 81yrs this month, best birthday gift ever. Thank you so much for this fabulous experience.
This footage is the best gift you've ever received?
I feel sorry for you man, I hope you get some decent friends and family in your next life.
Great footage. Well done to everyone at RAAF Amberley that makes this happen. We love it!
