I was there today, and out of all the flying displays the F-18 Super Hornet was my favourite! Couldn’t wipe the smile from my face! Loved every minute of the show!!!
My favourite was the f22
@@Xpc197 completely understand that thing is awesome and pure performance!
I love hornets....but the raptor was mind boggling, especially if you have a grasp on what most jets can do in BFM.
At different lighting angles, you can see the pilot’s eyes. A lot of concentration there! Nice little detail showing the 1 Squadron emblem on the t-shirt under the flight suit. Go RAAF.
PLAAF the world best 🤣
I went to the airshow this year it was funu
@@AJS86 I wonder where you would be from 🤦♂
@@KaidoDeveloper I'm the troll that lives under the bridge 🤣
@@AJS86 I can see that very clearly.
3:32 Always do a head check, by turning your head and looking over your shoulder to see the blind spots, just before you change lanes.
That would have to be one of the best clips I have seen on RUclips. Pilots face, ground, clouds, speed and clear vision.
OK I am an Aussie too. Be there Sunday.
Great footage. Saw the show today, blown away by both the Rhino and the Lightning II. The RAAF showcase was fantastic showing off the capability of the fast jets and the other platforms (my son has gone to bed cuddling the little cardboard model C-17 he was handed)! Thank you for protecting our skies.
Big shout out to the boys in the squadrons who keep these things in the air 24/7! & To their families who support them behind the scenes! Your service is appreciated!!!
Awesome, loved watching this display, definitely going to join the Air Force in the future. Hope to one day fly one of these magnificent warbirds!
In 2011 I took my son to Avalon to support his interest in an Air Force career. That's him you can see in the video. Dreams really do come true. Not sure of your age, but Air Force Cadets is a great place to start your investigation.
@@almostsailing1280 that’s the best 👏👏👏
Love the RAAF I was a cadet there I enjoyed it very much thank you for your service
Yes me to 8 flight Gawler South Australia. Was great training. Still love the RAAF. also cheers. So good having all this excellent content around.
This was simply amazing to watch down on the ground in person! My daughter won't shoosh about it 🤣🤣
Negative G's looked good, that strapped helped highlight them.
Thanks for this, RAAF. A better view than I would've had from the ground, and I didn't have to sit four hours in ground traffic. 👍👍
(Actually, the highway traffic looks OK at this time. 😊)
It was fine. About 35 mins from exiting the highway to parking. Absolute breeze leaving
It was great to watch this display from both the grand stand and the cockpit view. Thanks for sharing.
What a great display! Never get low and slow in a turning fight with a Super Hornet!
SU-57 has just entered the chat
@@longslongprong lol, assuming some of the 6-8 production SU-57s( there are more prototypes which are less capable) could get airborne, given Russian maintenance problems, maybe they could be a problem if they could actually get that close. My money is on their stealth not being anywhere near as good as they claim, therefore making them a target way sooner.
@@longslongprong Yeh mate, the russians have totally proven how capable they are as a fighting force, as they enter day 369 of their 3 day 'special operation'
@@elite76 Worlds largest thermonuclear stockpile has just entered the chat
@@longslongprong Russia couldn’t ever capture Ukraine after 3 days what make you ever think su 57 stands a chance a against a super hornr let alone a f35
best 16 min of my evening. Thank you Sir.
I gotta tell you, you look real cool sitting on the runway ready for takeoff. The anticipation is insane. Great job, I loved your work
Got to see today's display, absolutely phenomenal! Go RAAF!
My back injury prevented me from making it to the show again this year. Thank you so much for uploading these videos, feels like I was almost there
I watched the F-35 flyover last Sunday in Newcastle.
God damn! Absolutely incredible and so loud!
Love your work RAAF! Always exciting to watch. ❤
Fantastic the effort put into situations; awareness: demonstrating all the best habits.
I went yesterday. F-18’s we’re my favourite along with the Mustang and F-22. It’s crazy how quiet it sounds from inside the jet compared to the outside.
Just awesome, thanks for sharing.
It is truely an honour to view such an AWESOME display of everything that is our home, TALENT & country.. 💓 🌅 I thank you All with heart felt appreciation 💪🔥💨
Just hooked up to a Bose BT Speaker!! Oh my! Rocket! Oh this puts viewing in an extraordinary pleasant perspective... 🔥🔥
Every display has been great this weekend !!
Shoutout RAAF for doubling up as the actual RNZAF since we have no jets 😢😂❤
mate get some F-35's in ya!
@@DaveWhoa I couldn’t agree more!!! At some point we will wake up. In my head it feels like we’re letting our allies bare the cost of safety. Thanks I guess!
@@bendavis6530 and we're seeing it now with Ukraine for example - they want F-16 jets, but just the training alone for those is 18 months ... that's a lonnng time to wait if your country is under attack. Invest in deterrence today so we don't need to fight war tomorrow
Oh that right the former pm doesn't like any mil . She wouldn't even let a nuke class US carrier in to her waters.. (unless nz was attacked then it would be ok.)
Australia is not much better. We wait for something to happen then go "oh crap". But it makes the loopy left and the greens happy . We will never learn
A nother day in the office thanks RAAF your the best
Absolutely amazing! 👏🏻
Nice work mate I love it 👍🏻❤️🇦🇺❤️🌹
I went to the show with my 8 year old son ,he was so impressed with the show and planes ,he told me like every other kid I want to become a fighter pilot ,I hope and pray to God his ambition comes true God bless👍👍👍👍👍.
My wish is to get to Avalon and Wanaka airshows one day. Been to Temora and Skyrace Tasmania a few times and loved it.
its rather cheap mate, well worth it too
Love the way they stare at things
You can't beat a hornet display!
Wish the RAAF would come back to play in NZ
Where’s NZ?
@@firstnamelastname-ys3mz South western pacific ocean.
Thnks for this it gives a different prospective
I was there today with my son, and it was so awesome….
Was there on this day and it was amazing!
I had a 'session' on one of the Super Hornet simulators at RAAF Amberley in 2009 (I think).
6 SQDN had received two at that stage and the F-111's only had another couple of years left.
Had a go at the F-111 simulator too.
Haha, no way I jumped on the simulators too, same year!
@@a.khanage4599 The guy who put me through the F-111 simulator was a Squadron Leader with a big moustache. I think his name was Mike (or Steve). The chap who guided me on the Hornet was Luke Warner who was the navigator on the F-111 that belly landed there a few years prior. My daughter was working with 6 SQDN and arranged all this for me.
Cockpit of a beautiful BEASTY F1 11 BIT me...❤... I'll be never be the same 💥💨 so I am hearing you 😁🔥💥
Yes..Some are more fortunate than others 😁 I believe I am now blessed & or extremely obsessed.. 🤩
Totally awesome well done stay safe and thanks
🫡 Amazing flying skills thank you for sharing!
I was at the show and it was a blast
Saw this today at Avalon today. 10/10
Awesome stuff!
I was at the air show myself. Loved it.❤
its just wonderful how they do this
This is now a new favourite vid of mine. I just wish it was over Sydney Harbour
I loved seeing thses things fly
Did like the carrier break.
Love this, our RAAF rocks 👍
I wish I could've gone to this! Maybe next year.
Ah so it was YOU who took off right in the middle of my powerpoint presentation. Gave me a couple seconds to read my notes :)
Wonderful video
Doesn't get any better than this. Amazing. Thanks for the video.
That low pass was frickin awesome
Well that's amazing never seen that be4 so quite in the cockpit
We need more of these...👍
It'll be a long road but no matter what, I am going to get to this point. Per Ardua Ad Astra!
Good luck. Hope you get there.
Good luck mate i wish you the best! We are all gonna make it!
Best of luck mate. You’ll be in the skies and I’ll be on the seas 😁
This is amazing!!! Always loved this over geelong but this is amazing!!!! Should of joined the air force
The Hornet always steeks the show with those two engines.
Brilliant!
This is amazing and it’s cool you didn’t add any music or commentary. 🦘
Strong 💪🏻😉
This is why I want to be an airforce pilot 😎😎😎
Props to the Go Pro mount for handling the G's.
The pilot seems to be adjusting himself a lot in the seat, I thought the pilot would be more secure in there.
P.S so glad you guys are defending Australia 👍.
Can you please do a forward view next time?
Much appreciated in advance.
Love from Newcastle!
I'm going tomorrow. Better not spoil it :)
Fascinating
Why do a display with missiles on the rails? Surely a clean ship would be best? Also why so far from the crowd? US Airshows they get closer by a good amount.
SOO COOL!
Beautiful Victorian weather.
got a little pov from the visor reflection too
Hands down would be THE best job in the world!!!!
nice it was great from the ground too
Best of the best.
good work techos
Who is the young lad in the cockpit? great piloting skill. Well done sir.
Super Hornets are the coolest looking warbirds ever
I like to watch how the slats works automatically with every manoeuvre.
Amazing how you can see just how the pilot's suit forced blood to the pilot's head in high G-force maneuvers (to stop him passing out), can literally see the whites of the pilot's eyes go red then return to normal after in some moments.
Very interesting to watch the nuances of what he does. After a prolonged positive G manoeuvre he's sure to pull some negative G, I assume, to push some blood back up to his head. This is clearly indicated by the little strap near his left shoulder. Such a physical job that anyone would just love to do. He's living his best dream. 👍👍🙏🙏
I had to leave just as I started seeing this Fighter take off. :(:(
Still got to see the rest of the show before which was still cool. :)
Humans are awesome ❤
I got a picture of this place where I could see the pilots from my back verandada😊
Best Job in the World!
Aussie Aussie Aussie!!!
"Turning on final. Coming around to a seven-zero-niner. Terminal guidance locked in. Where's the damn beacon?"
Was that from Weds? I don't recall seeing the missiles on the Hornets on the Friday.
I went to Avalon 2022, amazing show from the air force
Would love to see a euro fighter here one day on display
theres a bonelab F/A-18F SuperHornet mod
What cause the smoke to roll of the wings during flight?
Was this a low display due to the cloud cover? Noted the absence of the pirouette usually seen in the US Navy Super Hornet TACDEMO or does RAAF not do that manouver in their Hornet display?
Hmm, makes me want to join the RAAF! 😁😁 Can we get his seat adjusted though?
Anyone else feel "the need for speed". Awesome!
insane
It would be great if this wasn't held at Avalon indefinitely. I'd love to see these guys do this all over Australia
I'd love to know more about that vizor, the weird shape and only sometimes transparent, built in HUD?
Great stuff.
It's called the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS). Theres not a ton of info out there on it, but it does have a integrated HUD, and can be used as a sensor of interest (SOI) allowing the pilot to quickly move the targeting pod to a line of sight position, or indicate where the targeting pod is looking, among a plethora of other weapons and critical information.
@@Pteparts69 Thanks mate.
I think ii costs something like $250k US. Worth every penny if it gives our pilots the edge. And the edge in survivability..
Similar to a hud however its not a head up display its a head mounted display HMD pretty interesting stuff I'd advise you look up some stuff about it
@@dartheveloper5449 that is correct, it is a HMD rather than a HUD, but for simplicity, I usually explain it as a HUD due to the information overlay being nearly identical.
Didn't realise everywhere looks so brown like a desert around Avalon during summer, and doesn't look comfortable sitting inside a fighter jet cockpit 😄
A few years ago we were fishing outside Crocodile creek near Townsville and one of these F18 critters buzzed us really low, came out of nowhere ..juss sayin
I wonder what time he left the office to get a car park ?
Does this mean the Hornet ball pilots are now all the old F-111 guys?
Are there any ex F111 that do Hornet
