During the TT02 speed run challenge I was running a 40t pinion and a 50t spur with a vintage reedy 8 turn double. That's how we hit 69 mph brushed.

Damn those are amazing speeds for just using nimh batteries, of course lipo battery will give you more speed but certain cars/trucks of Tamiya won't let you use square shaped, gotta use the rounded side kind to fit in the battery slot

I’m sure lipo will happen at some point in the future.

Starting to build up 😊 The place you run is not ideal, lots of people (and dog). When arriving around 50, it will become risky (car will start to fly sometimes when encountering bumps...). I suggest a radiator + fan over the motor. Is it Nimh or Lipo ? 🤝

You’re not wrong in what you’ve said. My running spot, on the third run became too busy. I had two wet dogs that had just come out of the sea chase the car and drip all over it. Not on lipo yet but thinking the fan is a good idea

Just go brushless for speed , but lots of chassis upgrades needed.

I put a Reedy Radon 5 pole motor in my crawler.... it literally lasted 4 minutes

I´ll try a cheap brushless and esc from Temu.
    It´s so cheap I can´t resits trying it...about £26 incl shipping and vat😊🤪
