The price has doubled on these WL Toys cars and trucks in the last year or so. Why are we being overcharged for EVERYTHING since the madness in 2021? Retaliation/retribution for not playing along? Dunno, but I for one, am tired of getting ripped off and paying more to get less. Anyone else sharing my sentiments? Seems like most don't mind.

Hoping the atom is better for the beginners and the a959 for the more experienced (but then again I guess I can turn down the speed)
I was really bummed with my HyperGo (probably the same electronic setup based on how it looks), the throttle delay and lag is just annoying, I tried to love it, but it just reminds me of turbo lag on the old air cooled turbo 911s...they called them Widowmakers for a reason! Slow on the start and way too punchy to keep it under control
Turn signal wise, i wonder if a company has done a box that instead of being attached to the turning its on a positional switch like channel 4 on a dumbo. Middle is off and going left or right turns on the signal for that side, it would be more realistic for scale rigs
i got 14209 and is amazing but as you said once is not a skate park rc car, 16889 normal version price is very atractive, is sturdy as the A PRO or quality is not the same? for 5 dollars you can change the suspension so is a total of 72 dollars

Tomley, I am a American vet who works every day to try to keep the lights on and bellys full. I know you sell your rc sometimes pretty cheap. I am into crawling, and was wondering if you had any that you was wanting to get rid of?
For me, an RC car has to be able to go where you point it and not have a mind of its own when trying to shred it. That's the issue I have with these smaller brushless RC cars. They are small and go out of control when trying to drive them. Every one of these smaller ones the brushed version was just the right amount of power to have good control over. With that said. They are perfect to have for friends to drive and go bashing with you or to let kids bash around with. I always bring to with me to the race track or skate park to let curious kids try them and have fun while I play with my bigger toys.
Yes, not the easiest to drive fast… I mean because I’m so good… I’m able to drive them 1 handed and make an epic video montage, but most people can’t do that 😅
Trying to find something in the 1:55 scale, so I can fit it with the Mattel Disney Cars. As my son is obsessed with them - any suggestions ? Reckon there is one that small, that won’t struggle with the weight of a metal body ?
I picked up the MJX for my daughter for Xmas on your recommendation and it's an absolute banger, cracking piece of kit and great quality. Keep up the great work.

Can't stop watching your videos at the moment. Looking at getting into the hobby with my son, is there a generic toolkit you'd recommend at all? I've got some great recommendations for starter cars from your videos, but not sure about anything for maintenance. Thanks
There are aftermarket metal diff housings, in a few colors even, that I highly advise anyone using this platform (there are several in this setup with WLToys, but also Fayee, etc) to pick up at least 2 each front and back. They are much, much tougher, but, not indestructible. It's what I have on my A979B and A959, and they have survived everything but a full frontal collision with a curb. I'm getting burnt out on these 1/18 sized rigs. I like 1/16, I like 1/24, I like 1/10, I like 1/8... But 1/14 and 1/18 are just overdone, and, for lack of a better word, 'gimmicky.' They are all copies of something a size category or two bigger. As always, great vids, love your work, and your approach to this hobby. Keep up the excellent work!!

I picked up a 144010 for my son for $99. Still a pretty impressive little car that does 40+ outta the box. They've included a new controller which gets rid of the delay problem it originally had as well. So I'd say there's still nice WL options that are worth the cost. My son thinks it's amazing and I can't blame him considering the car I had at his age did like 18mph stock and cost $300 back in the 80's.
I was saying this to my son playing with a stock Gorgon for 169 , pretty amazing compared to even a modified Blackfoot from the 80s with 5 10 minutes playtime
I got the mad max and for the life of me I cannot find replacement axles, so I took 144001 a arms and links and axles and put them on it, it's wider than it is long now lol

Around the 0:55 mark I started thinking "Hey wait, all my Traxxaseseses share suspension components and I don't think it's a bad thing", and then out comes a Rustler 😂
Same parts is a good thing as long as they work well. Especially when different brands use the same parts, you can always get spares. And yes, there're way to many small scale basher monster trucks out there, also to many big ones lol but im generally not a fan of this type of rcs. I prefer buggys, short course trucks and crawlers. Most short course trucks share the chassis of monter trucks, so the back suspension is all wrong. And most crawlers are jeeps and defenders, apparently that never gets old lol The market is just oversaturated with the same stuff in general.

Gosh, a new Video in 2023 😲 It´s definetly the MJX Hyper Go (in Germany Amewi Hyper GO)! My 2 kids and me are enjoying our Hyper Gos 16208 and they´re very resistant 🙂 Happy new Year Phil!
i quite like the WLToys cars.. Ive got a few of them, they are pretty strong for what they are..,. My only issue is... They destroy the wheel hex's!!! Each one of mine has... Destroyed them to the point that they are circles.. And seeing as they are a very uncommon and small hex size, Its annoying.. Ive converted all of mine to 12mm hex and fitted alloy hex's on..... Easier for wheel/tyre choice aswell :) Happy New Year from Cambridge, England :)
please make one of your famous comparisons about these cheap rc cars. maybe with 4 of the best 1:18 cheep rc buggys....🙏😍 and maybe also a video about how fast they are with different batteries. 🙏🤩😍😘 7.4 Li-Ion VS 7.4 Lipo VS maybe 3S 🤭 love your videos👍 and in my opinion you make one of the best videos in terms of recording etc
I think this truck is pretty decent. I think the front bumper they decided to go with is a little spindly and skinny. Maybe a more robust modern bumper would of protected that front diff housing a bit better! 😂 The performance seems adequate, but I’m betting they ran a 3s to get that 60 kph claimed top speed. The lights on this look sick! To me this is a $90-$100 car . I also agree with you on a solid color for this instead of this graphity style graphics! As always , great review !!!👊🏼🤩👍🏻
They keep the price the same- but use cheaper electronics, worse materials, and pack it with unnecessary features like lights or a clipless body system to justify the price
Like minds! I bought the MJX and now have no desire to buy any other basher of that scale. I've got the 14209 and the 16208. Maybe I'd go for a smaller micro basher. But I'm more of a trail/crawl guy.
I'm just getting into the hobby. I've ordered the 16208 (coming soon), but was also thinking of ordering the 14209. Would you say that they are different enough to have them both? I don't really understand the attraction of crawling (yet!), but can I ask what model you use?
I liked the video. I prefer honesty over sponsorship. I am looking to get something for a ten year old to start using and having a bit of fun with. We have some shops where we live that have WLToys 4x4 crawler type 4x4. From your video, I see replacement parts are readily available online for most breakages? I am based in Poland, so I would assume the same goes here (I hope) Do you reckon it is a good place to start? WLToys brand? Thankyou
You make some great videos. 👍🏼 Would it be too much trouble to link all the vehicles you show (not the ones in the background, good God!) in the description? If so that's ok I'll search. 😃👍🏼 There are so many that I can't remember all their names to look them up!
Good review Phil. Looking to get a small basher after binging your back catalogue of videos. Torn between a Hyper Go or a Reflex 14MT(MT14 😉), whats your thoughts with your impartial, non sponsored hat on? Is it worth the extra £ to go for the reflex?
The Reflex is really nice, and obviously being Associated has a little more thought gone in to it and you’ll probably get spares from a local online retailer. However, the MJX is tougher and faster, so I guess it depends. If I had to chose, I’d probably get the Hyper Go I linked in the description.
@TomleyRC cool, cheers. Have to put some thought in to it. Will be my first brushless (only run Tamiya brushed kits before) so the speed will need getting used to. Thanks for replying, keep up the good work

As soon as I realized you were boinging the model up and down to test the suspension I gave the vid a like!!! I love it when you do that unneccessarrillillillillillyyllyyllyyllyy!!!!!!!! 🤣
WLT? I've never bought one. But I just added unneccessarrillillillillillyyllyyllyyllyy to my Firefox dictionary!
Haha… nothing like a good bounce. No bounce montage this time though
This is a small Traxxas Sledge…on the body, tires, Wheels and rear wing….
Gosh, a new Video in 2023 😲 It´s definetly the MJX Hyper Go (in Germany Amewi Hyper GO)! My 2 kids and me are enjoying our Hyper Gos 16208 and they´re very resistant 🙂 Happy new Year Phil!
Last one of the Year 👌
Is it good for soft sand i live on the beach and want a fast cheap rc car
i quite like the WLToys cars..
Easier for wheel/tyre choice aswell :)
Happy New Year from Cambridge, England :)
Was they grommets on the diff housing for greasing. If so probably the best thing about it 😂.
Lol… I didn’t notice
Sorry, off topic but what ramp are you using there?
It’s an old ‘No Fear’ one I picked up of Facebook
please make one of your famous comparisons about these cheap rc cars. maybe with 4 of the best 1:18 cheep rc buggys....🙏😍
and maybe also a video about how fast they are with different batteries. 🙏🤩😍😘
7.4 Li-Ion VS 7.4 Lipo VS maybe 3S 🤭
love your videos👍 and in my opinion you make one of the best videos in terms of recording etc
HEY! Where was the Allen wrench????
Shocking!
I think this truck is pretty decent. I think the front bumper they decided to go with is a little spindly and skinny. Maybe a more robust modern bumper would of protected that front diff housing a bit better! 😂
The performance seems adequate, but I’m betting they ran a 3s to get that 60 kph claimed top speed. The lights on this look sick! To me this is a $90-$100 car . I also agree with you on a solid color for this instead of this graphity style graphics!
As always , great review !!!👊🏼🤩👍🏻
Was the included lipo puffed up? It looked pretty thick lol
I want that little mini hammer Rey looking guy you did a while back
What’s the mini basher you picked at the end of the video? Was that the Mjx?
Link in the description. ‘My choice’
They keep the price the same- but use cheaper electronics, worse materials, and pack it with unnecessary features like lights or a clipless body system to justify the price
what was the one you pointed at and said i’d have that one?
what cross screwdrivers do you use?
Wether or not these little machines are "any good" anymore or not for the price point, you still manage to make the best promo vids for them!
Haha.. yeah, shame because some of them don’t deserve the air time!
Like minds! I bought the MJX and now have no desire to buy any other basher of that scale. I've got the 14209 and the 16208. Maybe I'd go for a smaller micro basher. But I'm more of a trail/crawl guy.
Great choice 👌
I'm just getting into the hobby. I've ordered the 16208 (coming soon), but was also thinking of ordering the 14209. Would you say that they are different enough to have them both? I don't really understand the attraction of crawling (yet!), but can I ask what model you use?
Happy New Year, Phil!
Happy New Year
I liked the video. I prefer honesty over sponsorship. I am looking to get something for a ten year old to start using and having a bit of fun with. We have some shops where we live that have WLToys 4x4 crawler type 4x4. From your video, I see replacement parts are readily available online for most breakages? I am based in Poland, so I would assume the same goes here (I hope)
Do you reckon it is a good place to start? WLToys brand?
Thankyou
you can loosen the diffs on rc’s?😅🤔
what is that blue one in the middle ??
Traxxas 1 mph slower than box: LET ME SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER THIS IS BLASPHEMY!!
WLToys 11 km slower than box: ehh not too bad..
Id rather it be solid orange
Anyone know the name of the blue/white/red truck that he picked the best of the bunch?
Link is in the description. ‘My choice’
this is truly extraordinary
😇
You make some great videos. 👍🏼 Would it be too much trouble to link all the vehicles you show (not the ones in the background, good God!) in the description? If so that's ok I'll search. 😃👍🏼 There are so many that I can't remember all their names to look them up!
I just linked the one I reviewed and my favourite. I see channels with a million links in the description and it just looks confusing 😅
@@TomleyRC That is true! I did just want the link to your favorite! Perfect compromise!
Why do companies keep copying the Traxxas Sledgehammer tires
Dunno… they should try copying the softer compound as well lol
mjx kicks this 4ss! I have 4 wltoys, but I am not sure about these new ones... Mjx has better products as of now
Agree 🤘
Thanks for replying, keep up the good work
12:00 we've got so many I don't know where to put it....I've got a couple of suggestions heheheheh what? WHAT?
🤣
