  • What happened when two of poker’s biggest trash talkers, Tony G and Nik Airball, clashed during The Million Dollar Game on the Hustler Casino Live stream? They locked horns in a huge cash game hand where Tony G had pocket aces and faced a massive raise by Nik Airball with just a ten-high straight draw! Which of the two loudmouths will be uttering a famous catchphrase and dragging in the pot?
When you are playing deep stacked poker, is it not advised to 4-bet very frequently, especially with hands like jacks or queens. Better candidates to 4-bet with are aces or kings for your premium holdings, and ace-x suited or king-x suited to build your bluffs from.
Nik Airball is an investment banker and an amateur poker player, he occasionally plays at The Lodge Card Club but mainly plays on the Hustler Casino Live poker stream. He will play any stakes, and is often involved in heated table talk with the other poker players. Nik Airball is almost fluent in Mandarin, engaging in table talk with many Mandarin-speaking poker players. He often voices his strong opinions about current trends, topics and scandals in the poker world on social media and poker podcasts.
Antanas Guoga or, more commonly known as Tony G is a Lithuanian-Australian businessman and also a part-time professional poker player. Tony G has played on many live poker streams throughout the years such as: Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker, The Big Game, and many more. He is known for his theatrics at the table and over the top celebrations. His most famous quote is “On Your Bike” when he stacks an opponent.
Hustler Casino Live is a full-scale, high-value poker production. Close to a million dollars was spent transforming the casino’s high-limit poker room, the Crystal Room, into the set of this new state-of-the-art live show. Hustler Casino Live looks more like coverage of a TV broadcast sporting event and appeals to those beyond the poker community. Unscripted and unedited, they host regular poker streams such as ‘Max Pain Monday’ and ‘Thirsty Thursday’. Some of the most notable poker players to have appeared on the show are Phil Ivey ‘The Tiger Woods of Poker’ ‘RaiseOnce’, Tom Dwan ’durrrr’, Phil Hellmuth ‘The Poker Brat’, Chris Moneymaker, Doug Polk ‘WCGRider, Garrett Adelstein ‘Gman’, Tony Guoga ‘Tony G’ and many more.
This hand occurred during the highly anticipated $1,000,000 minimum buy-in cash game on the Hustler Casino Live stream. It had an array of professionals and businessmen competing against one another. Some of the players that played in this game were Doug Polk, Tom Dwan, Tony G, Rampage, Wesley, Stanley Tang, Nik Airball, Huss, J.R., Double M, Blank Check Ben, Brandon Steven, Charles, and Rob Yong
    🔍 Preflop:
Huss raises to $6,000 from under-the-gun +1 with pocket queens. Nik Airball calls on the button with T9 of diamonds before Tony G squeezes to $40,000 from the big blind with his pocket aces. Huss calls with his premium pocket pair, and Nik calls with his suited connector. They head to the flop three-way.
    💸 Flop - Kh 8c 7s:
The king-high rainbow flop falls, and Tony G continuation bets for $40,000. Huss calls with his queens, but Airball takes the aggressive line with his open-ended straight draw by raising to $150,000. Tony G isn’t going anywhere with his pocket rockets and calls to see the turn, but Huss correctly folds his ladies, and they now head to the turn heads-up.
    💣 Turn - 6c:
The 6 of clubs on the turn brings a potential backdoor flush draw. After Tony G checks with his aces, Nik Airball puts out a bet of $225,000, having hit one of the cards he needs to turn the nut straight and have Tony G drawing dead.
How will Tony G respond to this bet? He has the best starting hand in poker! Will he fold, call, or raise? You have to watch this entire poker video to see the result.
You should stay and watch the ending to see how the two trash talkers react to each other after the hand!

This is why I always don't understand how people play As. At least he made a big bet but should have made a bigger bet. People seem to think As are the absolute nuts. And what's worse is that they let a turn card hit and still think they have the absolute nuts.
I know I suck at poker, but if I have As I'm all in pre-flop. Eff it. Or at a minimum a gigantic bet that makes 10-9 fold.

It's hard to fold AA vs Nick A. But it's a bluff catcher. However, he bluffs. Alot. I probably would have jammed turn. Nick doesn't have KK. I have equity vs 2 pair. I'm thin vs a set. But he over calls w draws. So I'd rather him call to see the 6 than let him set the price. He raises bc he has fold equity and can improve. Id rather make him pay to chase

Looks like he did after he calmed down. Of course the hand was far from crazy and actually pretty standard. Also Tony played fine of course (in this hand, haven't seek the rest of his play) so he didn't let the tilt make him play poorly.

@@wachtwoord5796 But Tony also tries to be nice too, he mixes it up between tilting opponents and being buddy-buddy. Airball, apparently up until recently, just went full-bore trying to piss people off and that makes others avoid you in the future. It's why he went to the Lodge, a more relaxed and friendly club, to try and clean-up his image. (And because it was practically the only stream where he could get high-stakes action, due to Doug's clean reputation.)

Poker is the only endeavor where the participants pay all or most of the bills, yet they sometimes face pressure to act against their interests. There is no legit rationale where a player can't come and go when he wants. I'm sure some producers or game runners might have a problem with that, but who cares? Unless they're paying sizable money for a player showing up, a player is free to leave whenever.

Running bad is a part of poker. Tony could have potentially won the pot if he made it like 500-600k on flop after Airballs's raise but Airball may have called or jammed so they could have ran it twice. AA and KK can be difficult to play if you are scared money or incredibly deep like in this super high stakes game.

If he had a set, he would stick. The possibilities of others having straight are highly. This where big name players don't like to play with gamblers. To them you should fold. Unlike the old days that was common. What happens they got bullied? Now a days new players have the cash, the backing and are aggressive in betting. They don't fold that quickly like before. The once was bullied now bullies the bully. There are pros and cons for Poker players and Gamblers. Both compliments each others play style. In the end, the player with a bigger stack of chips will always have the advantage.
