Last spring, I had a similar experience. I flopped the nut straight against top and middle set. We got all in three ways and both other stacks were a little short, so it made it a little less painful when middle set turned quads. I took it well as it was an interesting hand and a good story, but Mr. Top set was very grumpy and disrespectful to the dealers.

Yea was really smart. And Mike likely didn't have the higher set because he went all in with no draws. So was likely he had the straight. Played really well, don't think I think of all that in the moment.

I haven't played live in years, but for reference back in 2009 through 2016 i played twice a week in a local underground game, started at the 1-2-2 table, & then I eventually moved up to the 5-10 game. The club also had a weekly $45 double rebuy tournament that i would play in often. eventually I started traveling to Tunica, Atlantic City, & Vegas w/other players i became friends w/to play in events & circuit tournaments. I mostly played hold 'em, but there were Omaha & stud tournaments & games in there as well that i dabbled in. Under certain high pressure circumstances it can be overwhelmingly difficult to consider all the math & different factors that contribute to making the right decision, but that's why if/when you're involved in a hand, you have to learn to take deep breaths, try & shut everything around you out, focus on the pot-odds, who's in the hand & for how much, & don't make any major decisions w/out being mentally prepared & fully aware of what you're potentially facing & the best possible play based-on your table-position. Luda is a good enough player w/a ton of experience playing these stakes, I'm sure he was fully aware where he was at in the hand, & what he was potentially up against.
