Ivey was involved in the two best poker hands (with reads) that I've ever seen: 1) I saw him fold on the river, holding Jacks full of 10's, to an opponent betting, while holding Kings full of 10's (they both flopped sets). I don't think that I could ever make that laydown. 2) I watched him bluff Gus Hanson on the river with 9 high, while Gus was holding King high, seriously considering making a hero call against him. Gus folds, no cards are shown, and says to Ivey "trying to buy the pot with a 9 again?", to which Ivey responds "Were you seriously thinking about calling with a King high?" 😮😮😮 Next-level shit, those guys.
Ivy had k2 vs Hansen's 97 but Hansen had 2 pair by river and called Ivy's semi bluff at the end (w pair of 2s). This was the previous time they played in a tourney

The K7 hand vs Benyamine’s flush and Antonius K was a matter of deducing what they had and then pulling the trigger. It’s a flush and a K in his opponents hands unless someone flopped 2’s full. After the turn action Ivey knew he needed help and when the 4th diamond came, inspiration struck. He realized how tough it would be for Benyamine to call without the A or FH so he bet, whereas now it looks like he’s got the A or a FH when he’ll😂are into 2 players.

those are simply GOD LIKE reads that I will never come close to attaining. 1000% of the time I would have gone broke in a playout like where Ivey folded at 14:26.....but somehow the GOAT finds it in himself to fold. I mean yes, I once called not one BUT TWO players' precise hole cards before showdown, but....that was just silly bar poker, LOL.

David should have realized that Phil couldn’t have ace king or ace queen of diamonds making it less likely he actually has the nut flush. Gave him too much credit for having a good hand imo.
Ivey could have full houses with K2s and 22 when he bets the flop. He also could have A2-AJ of diamonds. However, I think he would continue betting the turn with these hands. Once he checks the turn, his hand seems like KJ or KQ. So yea, I agree with you that Ivey doesn't really have an Ace of diamonds in this spot. He still could have a some boats like 44 or 55. What do you think are some of his bluffs?
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany I have a hard time understanding this analysis of poker. At the highest level, both players are aware of W position + X hand + Y board = Z play, so... why would a player always do Z? Sometimes, it's even more likely a player has X hand if they *dont* do Z, because then your opponent may think you are strong and trying to convince them you are weak. The layers of bluff-double bluff-triple bluff seem so never ending, I don't understand how you can make decisions based off of this alone. I think the very best players take that information, and synthesise it with reads and psychology. They check it against what they know about the individual player they are up against. It's never as simple as X hand = Z play.
@@RoyalFlushMediaCompany That might be standard in a 3bet pot deep .. not sure what stack sizes were. There are places where the solver bet half pot as a cbet in 3BPs.
@@xxChacaronXX I think if the flop is draw heavy and your hand requires protection from over cards then it would make sense to bet half pot. I feel like when Mercier bets half pot he doesn’t really have QQ-AA. Which is why I think Ivey raised him on the flop. Probably felt like he had AK or A5s
I guess that means you would never expect your opponent to bluff in that spot, then? because KT here seems like merely a bluff catcher, can't expect villain to bet much worse for value in that configuration.
Im sorry..but is it possible there was somw chesting going on back in the day. The last hand is just ridiculous..looks like how Mike Postle would be playing.
