Don't own a truck, don't own an off road vehicle nor do i plan on buying one or even have interest in off reading, but here I am watching these videos and subbing to the channel
This thing is turning into a monster. Great work. Curious if you have a good technique for getting alignment close enough to be stable? Looking forward to KOH videos. Good luck!!
You do great work and easily one of my favorite youtubers bro!!! Can I make a suggestion. When you heat up cast to weld to it, it's also very important to cool it down slowly. We used to wrap the axle into a fiberglass blanket then regular blankets, that way it slowly cools down. You're going to be fine but just as FYI for next time. Id love to wheel with ya sometime. I'm by Ocotillo wells if you're ever out this way! Edit: you literally said you're going to wrap it in blanket 2 seconds after I posted this 🤣🤣🤣
Wow….from similar situations, I can tell you that you’re doing awsome ……great work, impressed with your diligence and can-do attitude and outcomes….surprised you stayed with the Dana 30, never seen it survived those sized tires or situations, it must totally like you…..thanks for taking the time to make the videos, I appreciate it….keep having fun….
Just tossing a question out there but I was wondering what got y’all into cars and when y’all decided working on cars was a passion of yours? Y’all are awesome I love y’all’s videos.
The old T&J upper shock mount used a threaded bolt, with something similar to what you made. I’ve also seen braces welded over to the coil spring mount on the unibody. Wondering if the shock mounts are surviving or not? Also you probably know that limit straps can stretch over time.
Do you know what your wheelbase is? I'm just curious because I'm setting up my cherokee and I've been doing lots of measurements to see where everything can go and stuff and I want to see if my wheelbase is similar to yours.
@@mikes4x4garage LOL! Any permanent damage? I ended up punting and throwing them on my dune buggy, but curious to see if you stick with it and get them to work.
The tool for those ball joints to tighten them suck and why do you hafta run jeep jk ball joints the only thing I haven t done was wj knuckles and thinking about doing it but just put xj teraflex ball joints in
When you said, “I want 5” of shaft showing”. My missus shouted from the other room, “what are you watching?” 😂
LOL
always use a rubber isolator 😉

And I’m happy you’re here!
It's looking much more capable. I think you're doing some pretty awesome things from just a regular home garage! ✌🏼
Love watching a build, I mainly followed for the Yota stuff but I stayed for the overall fab and creative stuff. 🍺 keep doing your thing bro!
How do you know so much about cars? school, previous job, RUclips? I appreciate your videos, keep it up man. Cheers.
Always a good day when there’s a new mikes 4x4 video posted
Impressive Mike! You have your own mechanics shop going on. So much fabrication!
Really digging your projects. 👌 thanks for sharing!

Oh yeah I just use a good old tape measure. Set it to 1/8” toe in and the caster around 5-6°
Jeeps looking awesome man looking forward to the KOH testing

Can’t always get it right the first time!
This guy deserves more love, amazing videos

Thank you! I appreciate the comment and compliment! And yes that axle is holding on for dear life!
I hope you have better luck with this ball joints than I did.
Awesome. Stoked for some KoH footage.

They’re holding up great!
@@mikes4x4garage sweet the way you drive it should be a good test. Btw I’m building a similar setup powered by a LS1 V8.
Sweet video as always 🤙🏼
Glad you enjoyed thank you!
Gosh I wish I was half as capable at wrenching as you. How to even begin???
You rock Mike!!!

Hey man, I don’t see a hotwork chit anywhere 😂
No no we don’t do that here 😂
How do you work on the suspension without cutting the welds on your limit straps?
Yep. Literally didn’t even think about it until you’re saying that now. Whoops. I’m going to have to redesign that … hahahaha. I was in such a rush
@@mikes4x4garage No worries, just figured id point that out so you could remedy it. Ive been watching since you picked up your 1st Taco!
Kick ass build
Hey great video have a good and be safe at 🔨 ⚒️
Looks sick are tons next
So, which did the bypasses hit during KOH week: caliper on the compression tubes, tire on the reservoir, body on the "frame" or all 3? :)
The answer is…. All of the above!!
@@mikes4x4garage LOL! Any permanent damage? I ended up punting and throwing them on my dune buggy, but curious to see if you stick with it and get them to work.
Hey Mike, how are you so experienced with automotive things and fabrication? Are you a mechanic?
Yeah I am a diesel mechanic for my day job! However i would say im self taught with this type of work.
Muy bueno tu trabajo esa suspencion si vale ,a difrutarla felicitaciones👏👏👏👏👏👍🍻
What bump stops are those
New never used. Last famous line
Great video 👍
Thank you!
Favorite channel on here. If you had a subscription I would pay.
let me jump on this video right here
do you ever do motorcycle stuff?
I ride dirt bikes (rmz450) and have had a few motorcycles but mostly just 4x4s!
Best I can offer is 3 inches of shaft showing
I’ve heard that’s perfect sometimes, maybe even too much
Dude, what happened to your Toyota?
nice
Can't wait to see this thing eat some whoops
And she will!
"the welds look great" LOL
😎

WJ knuckle swap needs WJ or JK ball joints, they’re the same.
