Honey being nerfed makes sense, since people will always just uber-tryhard and ruin the intended progression. In valheim's case queen bees are rare spawns and were meant to be difficult to come across, but you could just seed-load any world and transfer stuff via your character's inventory, which a lot of people did to circumvent the rare spawns.
Playing Valheim at launch was such a beautiful experience. I remember the Lox meat, Lox Pie and Sausage being the go-to combination of all and Bread was utter useless lol

I was wondering what's new in valheim, like why I'm not getting snipped from deathquitos anymore, and this video was posted 30 min ago, thank you! Edit: ah, you didn't get to the plains yet
Changes haven’t been all for the better in my view. Terraforming the land was a lot easier at launch. It was easy to build land bridges between islands for example. They made it much harder in later patches with you now having to jump through several hoops or certain things even being nearly impossible to do with the land. One of my favourite things at launch was building a tree farm on a hill, cut down one or 2 at the top and they would fall and cut the entire forest for you. Doesn’t work like that anymore.
oh for real? i don't remember the terraforming changes. I know that terraforming used to cause a lot of performance issues. Maybe to fix that it lost the behaviour you enjoyed which is a sad consqequnece. Trees still knock each other down though. maybe less pronounced now though
@@SpazzyjonesGaming It’s been a while so this my not be super accurate. But I believe at launch you could raise land to your level no matter how much below you it was. Therefore, it was possible to raise land across even a deep sea. They later added a mechanic which meant you could only raise land a certain number of levels above its original. So, as you try to do this from land into the sea now, you will reach a point where you can only raise the sea bed to a level which is still underwater. I’m speaking of the vanilla behaviour without mods of course. At launch a common tactic was to build an island base to negate most base attacks. This was easy because the depth of water didn’t matter and you could build it anywhere. Not so now, you have to look for some shallow water away from mainland, which is hard to find. You will also find you are restricted on how much area you can raise because as depth increases you can’t get it above sea level anymore. At launch it was also common to raise your island base way up so that when there are storms the waves don’t reach the top. Much, much harder now because of the limits on how much you can raise the land
great video and very informative. new valheim player here btw and loving every second of it.. I have a few questions if you can answer me... currently playing valheim alone .. can i clear the bosses on my own or do I need other people? and btw tried joining other servers and they are all with password.. Should I just stay in my world and grind?
im gona be honest.... i would have never spent a dime on the game knowing how incomplete it was. However , i would gladly buy it for higher price today now that its near complete.
Been playing since day one and I love the game. But the UI needs s serious overhaul. Having the map in one corner, actionbar in another and your health in a third while the stamina is under your character is not very intuitive for todays standard. And that we still, after four years, can't change keybindings for the actionbar is just mindboggling.
@@SpazzyjonesGaming UI's has always been important for me and luckily most games can be modded. I've decided to wait for the full release and mods (I'm looking at you Project AUGA) to be fully working by then. Love Valheim but its not like there is a shortage of games to play in the meantime.
Not only it's still in early access, you are basically required to use mods if you want certain basic QoL features. The game is also unoptimized and unpolished, and not just in terms of performance. For example, dropped items NEVER despawn unless you are near them, and even then, they take two full ingame days or something to despawn. They also basically did no "real" work since launch.
Snapping is in the game at launch, you literally show it happening in the video, the extra options to change how snapping works was not. What are you on, the Troll looks almost identical with some more textures only
I only covered the first two biomes and considering the bog witch is really swamp focused I decided not to include it. Im going to cover the other 3 biomes in a follow up video
@SpazzyjonesGaming I started a new playthrough after Bog Witch and really noticed a difference. Getting more berries or mushrooms because of the farming skill(picking berries/mushrooms now farming skill), chance of getting double resources cooked or crafted, less stamina used when building(crafting skill) or farming(skill), multiple craft and cook system(x5 craft for everything now just hold shift), and new crafting/cooking stations starting from black forest. And many more new things, Hildir for example
7:11 tf you mean "troll got complete overhaull and looks nothing like it used to" - it's pretty much identical lmao wtf? Some body hair added to his chest or slightly sharper nose is such a change in your opinion? It looks the SAME, they change almost nothing about it. Just pause the video at the timestamp I posted and tell me with a straight face that these two look nothing alike lol
I like the game build survival quality of life play. Hated that there is no weapon of choice if you want to progress, you have to grind for the next tier to progress and I hate doing grinds. Lost interest to fight the final boss so went to watch what it looked like in utube instead. 🤣

@@thargs9184 nice. I do need to play more enshrouded
Haven't played Valheim since launch
might be time for you to come back
waits its been almost 4 years since the release ? and the game is still in early access
Yep. long development cycle
Snapping is in the game at launch, you literally show it happening in the video, the extra options to change how snapping works was not.
What are you on, the Troll looks almost identical with some more textures only
You know what I mean by the snapping man. Come on!
Fair point on the troll, the tweaks to the troll were minor in hindsight
Why not mention any of the things from newest update? Like new skills, new buildables, new crafting stations, new cooking stations
@@ricoooooooo yep there is a lot more to cover
LOL I love Horizon Zero Dawn Online!
kinda haha
I have not played since launch to be honest. My buddies have not wanted to play it since.
its still great!
devs
backpacks
definitely dont hate the idea
7:11 tf you mean "troll got complete overhaull and looks nothing like it used to" - it's pretty much identical lmao wtf? Some body hair added to his chest or slightly sharper nose is such a change in your opinion? It looks the SAME, they change almost nothing about it. Just pause the video at the timestamp I posted and tell me with a straight face that these two look nothing alike lol
in hindsight its a bit of an exaggeration. I got a bit excited in my script lolol
How were you able to do this??
Im actually going to release a video on how to do this next week. Stay tuned
You could grab fishies with your bare hands in the first versions until they patched it out ...
straight out of the water?
Don't really see a difference between the old and new Troll. little bit more chesthair. that is it.
Looks pretty different to me
Is Valheim still in Early Access?
yes it is
Game ave perpetual stuttering FPS down from 60 to 55 al time... play 1080p max setting or 720p lower setting not ave any difference....
not sure what you're saying
ngl i wish valheim never had mages and wizard stuff
i can respect it. its nice though because you can just choose not to use it if you want
I like the game build survival quality of life play. Hated that there is no weapon of choice if you want to progress, you have to grind for the next tier to progress and I hate doing grinds. Lost interest to fight the final boss so went to watch what it looked like in utube instead. 🤣
fair it can be a bit grindy
still the best mmo game to play imo :D
this isn't an mmo!
@@SpazzyjonesGaming okay then survival game xD
