I like when you call out your commands “e to extrude” and so on It helps me to understand the flow without having to watch screen cast, also helps to remember the command names.
Arrgg, how do the door trick!?xD I tab into object mode, I select the cutout object, then shift select the object I'm cutting out of, then when I hit "Shift -" it just zooms in, or "Shift + Ctrl + Num -" as it says on his screen does nothing... idk what I'm missing:[
Maybe a low-poly kitchen? With a sink, refrigerator (outside only), simple oven, dining table, etc. Your work is really inspiring and making modeling much easier for me. Thank you so much!
I am deaf, I would like to know if you can make a video in 10 minutes to create a rigging hand, and say: "I LOVE YOU" in ASL (American Sign Language)? You can do it?
Your ideas are really creative! Small tip: you can duplicate using Alt + D in order to create a linked duplicate which automatically links object data and materials, so you can easily tweak one tower later instead of 4.
"E to extrude, S to scale, Ctrl + R to loop cut" are just a few of the keyboard shortcuts I will never forget now watching these 10 minute builds :-D don't stop saying them!
Loving these videos! A small thing I thought about while watching this is that you can right click items in a menu and add them to your quick favorites, which you can open by pressing q
Man every time you used the checker deselect I was happy that a tip was useful :D and you're more than welcome. Love your work and I hope to see more in the future!
I really appreciate your channel. Your little tricks like making the roofs on the houses is really teaching me a lot about how to approach modeling. It was the cutest thing when your daughter came into the room.
Together with my 9 year old son and I am currently building the racing track you showed in your last video. I thought that I would build a castle with him next - and now comes your new video 😀
Looking forward to watch and learn! Seeing that you do both Blender and Unity, would love to see a small tutorial series on good practices for displaying equipped items from Blender to Unity, if you ever have the time! :)
Thanks .You made me move in my project. I was stuck really . Now av made a lot of progress courtesy of your E extrude S to scale etc. It makes it simple. Thanks a billion.
Your da man. I am enjoying so much watching your 10 minutes model vids. So inspiring and so much fun. Thanks for that Idea. I watched your vids when you had 300 klicks on them. Now watch. Over 15.000!!! Congrats and u deserve it!!!
If You want to select every second (or third, ect) face, you select the first then select another face, then press ctrl + shift + plus, and blender will keep the same gap between the new selections, as the first and second had. (This works with every selection mode.)
Hi, I've been following you for a short time, but thanks to your videos I'm learning a lot. I've always liked low poly design and I've been encouraged to make the racing game you're teaching. My knowledge in Blender was 0 and I could follow all your steps and have a track and a car modeled. 👍🚗
Instead of subdividing again (open search menu type subdivide) to reopen the subdivide menu, you can just click F9 to reopen last menu operation, this also works for other menus eg. bevel. As always E to extrude, R to rotate, S to scale, and I to inset. Also would love to see what camera, lens, and other equipment you're using, pc specs, monitor, keyboard, mouse etc...
Thank you! That was a great video! I love that you're teaching how to model, without a tutorial. Can you make a game, when you just explore in structures that you've modeled? That would be cool.
Love your channel man. I'm really really looking forward to following your tutorial for the little racing game as I have been wanting to make a game similar to that for quite some time. A better way to get the line across instead of subdividing the two lines on the top of the castle is to use the knife tool and use control to snap to the center of the line.
Something I find very useful is the Quick Favorites feature. Just right click on the actions you perform a lot and select "Add to Quick Favorites". Then press 'Q' to access the menu and all your actions are there :). The menu is different for each window (so 3D viewport is different to the UV Editor). Hope this helps!
I'm new to your channel and just saw your 10k subscribe video and your youngest kid has such a cute smile, its really "contagious" 😂 It's also crazy to think that you had no kids (or only one) when you started this channel. The channel grew just like your family, that's so sweet :) And what the hell, even your youngest kid has so good English, probably better than majority of Austrians. Hälsningar från Österrike! (Jag faktiskt lär mig svenska)
Welcome!! I am finding it really difficult to reply to all comments now but I just have to say thanks!! Yes, I started the channel before my son was born, and he is 10 now. Crazy. My wife/kids mother is English which is why they have learned it already. I am thankful for them and also for comments like yours - it is really motivational :) Kul att du lär dig svenska! Ha det bra!
To get the line in the middle of a face, I use the knife (K). Holding control will snap to middle of edges so you can just cut across and press enter to end cut.
Right click! Subdivide is the first one at the top :) And honestly if you right click and subdivide once, you could do Shift+R right away to do it again much faster
i'd be really interested in seeing a follow up series where you make a low poly model in an hour instead of 10 minutes. maybe a timelaspe sped up or something.
Hey, I realize this videos not up yet but could you do a video on how you bring your rigged blender humanoid models into unity. I can't seem to get it to work and I noticed in your Blender you have a button called "Prepare rig for Unity". How did you get that button?
@@An3Dev Apparently its due to rigify not naming the bones properly when you set the skeleton to humanoid in unity. If you set it to generic it only seems to half work though.
Awesome! I'd love to see you model head in 10 minutes. I know you've done whole characters, but i'd love to see how much detail you could model in 10 minutes using the face rig.
"If someone know a better way to subdivide..." --> Right click > Subdivide Still probably a faster way like loop cut. Thanks for your 10 minute tutorials. I love them.
omg you are fantastic. Everything about you and your channel! I'm glad you seem to have caught success with the algorithm! I look forward to more of the same. Cheers :)
for 10:22 you could just select the top face > right click > subdivide > then pull the center line up, you'll have 4 faces instead of 2 though, but It'd probably be faster
Thank you again! Im always learning something new with your videos. I really want to see you without all the 10 minutes pressure. A mini series about how to create a proyect with more relax and learning atmosphere would be great. Im struggling trying to create some kind of modular character set. Tnx for the videos!!! Love from Uruguay!!! #SaveTheDefaultCube
Old video, you probably know much better now, but you can add a shortcut to the subdivide option in the context menu. The caveat is that the subdivide cuts a face in four parts, so you should still select two of the unnecessary edges and dissolve them.
By the way, I like your camera quality and the video production with your on-screen graphics adds a level of polish that is very welcome, though I'm sure it's additional trouble for you.
To subdevide easy press rigth mousebutten. Fastmenu it is Also posible to chance it.. om du velger tingene med venstre så er det høyre og ellers motsatt, dette er en snarmeny i blender på musen, du kan sette denne opp etter ønsket.
Hi from a fellow Swede! Love your stuff! I have a challenge for you, how about a 10 min to make a home aquarium, a glass tank, 1-2 fishes some plants and some other props! (note: I am curious about the transparency part)

Hahah... don't you dare stop saying "E to extrude, S to scale". You saying the keys as you do them is one of the charms of these videos and it's 75% of the reason I remember what all of these keys do now and I'm not constantly opening menus all the time. Thanks for these videos. I've learned more in a week of watching your 10 minute thrill rides than I have in a year of self-teaching and watching more drawn out tutorials. Keep up the great work!
What? I love hearing "E to extrude, S to scale".. So satisfying! :-D
Felix Enghofer Yeah I know! 😆
Grab to move R to spin
I to inset F to face
I like when you call out your commands “e to extrude” and so on It helps me to understand the flow without having to watch screen cast, also helps to remember the command names.
I learned 3 things. Your settings, Checker Deselect and most impressively how you made the door
I love these videos because I always walk away with something new despite the shorter length vids compared to tutorials.
Arrgg, how do the door trick!?xD

A lot of potential and passion for something
Wouldn't surprise me if he did a couple test runs.
