At the same time he's not really using any crazy advanced techniques here. It's pretty straight forward and a very good exercise for a beginners I feel. Edit: It just took me 48 minutes to follow along 4 minutes of the video... so, maybe not for beginners then but perhaps intermediates? I've been doing this since 19th of february this year.
@@Mocorn that's the brilliant part: simple techniques used effectively that's how you know he has experience. I mean he doesn't really stop to "think" while doing it, so he's got it all (or most of it) in his head. :) Glad you could learn from him. So could I.
Dont worry about time at first :3 Focus on techniques and once ur familiar to them, challenge yourself to create something and in a month u can see your time improve by atleast 80% if ur dedicated :3 I started at the end of june and i could do extremely good at 1st month. U can do it too

@@Imphenzia You talking about what hotkeys you use and even sometimes why/what function is really helpful for me as a beginner. It helps to show the tools and how to use them. When I model I often find myself wanting to do something, but I cant figure out a easy way to do it.

I actually tried this method of modeling and texturing and I made a little car in under 30 minutes and it was very fun. I'm going to start doing low poly models like this cuz I'll be making a game and I want it to be simple so that slow computers can run it and this works so well!
Maybe you could do a LowPoly Hogwarts in 10 Minutes, would love to see that. Also great vids, I learn so much for my own models in these videos and its really interesting to see how you approach these things. Keep up the great work :)
If anyone is having trouble with the Ctrl + shift + - segment. Be sure to recalculate your normals to the outside. In edit mode select all and push alt + N and recalculate to the outside.

Most tutorials I've encountered were about making hyper-realistic or high poly models, and I finally found someone that gets it. I just want to make a quick 3D game for fun, and used to think modeling would take too much time, you changed that. Thank you.
1:41 How did he do that thing where he takes the wheels away and now there's inverted geometry? I tried shift + ctrl + numpad - but it didn't seem to work.
It's an add on, found in another comment. You need to activate it in Edit -> Preferences -> Add Ons -> Instead of "All" change "Objects" -> Check "Bool Tool". This function is added in 2.8 and it needs to be activated.

I started with Blender about 3-4 years ago, before that I used 3DSMax at a very basic level. I still don't even know how to render in Blender (except just a viewport render more or less), I use it for modeling and animation of low poly so far.
I just wanted to write this comment to tell you that you are amazing! While watching your videos I thought I was watching a channel with hundreds of thousands of subscribers. The quality of your videos is amazing, you as a person are really interesting and your passion for what you do is keeping me hooked! I'm expecting that your subscribers will skyrocket soon, seeing as Blender channels are becoming quite popular now, so keep up the great work and stay safe during the current situation in the world!
Interesting to see how you've grown in technique and approach from your earlier videos. Loop tools for the wheel well is clever and using linked objects saves time on colouring. Auto mirror is also nice for automatically cutting the objects. I don't see a way to shave off much time here honestly. This was really tight and crazy inspiring! :) Edit: I just went through and followed along this video step by step. It's taken me about 48 minutes to get to 4m4s in the video but I've got a complete car now and I've learned quite a lot of new things. This video is chock full of tips and tricks even if it it's not intended as a follow along video for beginners. Plus, it's very fun! Have to leave for work now though =)

Just slow it down to 0.25 and you have yourself a good tutorial :)
