I keep reading the headline and thinking... he's going to be on in 10 minutes? Also, that UV palette trick is absolutely the best way to colour low poly models I have ever seen. I can program it into my finger movements without thinking anymore. tab A [change windows] AS0 enter G. Love it.
Yes, sorry - I probably set the premiere thing way too early this time. I'll learn eventually =) Yes, it's quite a cool trick to UV color that way - and when you make the games the textures are extreeeemely small and perform very well.
As someone who hasn't touched Blender (yet) repeating the hotkeys over and over again and what they do actually really helped in remembering them and I might do the same when I get started.
I just thought the same thing. About to take an online class and this is actually super helpful and informative to see the whole process in a “speed run”.
duuude that´s so cool, i spent 5 hours yesterday doing a sea serpent (Without any knowledge about blender) and i thought it was nice, but this is a whole new level, your sculpts are amazing!
I would like to see more tutorials on Blender from you. - How do bones work - How to animate well - How to use mirroring correctly - What do you have to consider when importing to Unity That would really help me. And maybe we'll see a tutorial for a high quality model.
Thank you very much for the entertainment and education. It's very inspiring and shows that anyone can do something recognizable in a short time. And you always have that positive mood -which is very contagious. Your kids were lovely and although there is time pressure you react to their comments in a very politely way so they don't get mad. As far as I can see you are a very great and humble person. Keep being as you are. The world needs more people like you. Thank you so much.
One of my favorite videos in the interwebs. I love the content of all your videos, and I've watched a few in the past, but in this one, your kids sealed the deal for me to like and subscribe. Keep up the excellent work!
I think this is a fun challenge with ur children and your children are cute :) The designs and how easy it Becomes to do low poly when you are more experienced. May god bless you and ur family.

So suspenseful and yet simultaneously pleasant to watch. These kids are jokers and make fun but it's apparent they really look up to you! Kudos on being a great father.
Thank you - yes I am thrilled about that. I've been here for 10+ years, but I am happy to find a format that keeps me a bit more engaged with you viewers =)
Amazing man you are just an inspiration, I've just begin developing some low poly structures, it would be great if you could make an elaborate tutorial session on character modelling, animating and stuffs Thank you so so much
Honestly...I think this is one of the most helpful videos I've seen on Blender. I can never remember the shortcuts, but having you say them out loud while I can see the screen and what they are doing was perfect to pound them into my brain.
When starting out using Blender, the execssive usage of "E to extrude, S to scale, R to rotate" actually helps (at least for me, I've only been using Blender for 2 days and already remember all of these shortcuts)
You are a nice Dad. My big hello to Amelia and Aden. It has been really nice to view this video with you streaming along with your kids. Two thumbs up for the whole team today.👍👍
Hey, just a suggestion to slightly speed up your workflow: when you were adding the Subdivision Surface modifier with the UI buttons, it took more time than the keyboard shortcut CTRL + 1. Note that the shortcut only works for the `1` key that's above the letters, not the one on the numpad, and it only works if you don't have Emulate Numpad enabled in the user preferences. You can change the level of subdivisions with the various number keys, e.g. CTRL + 2 adds 2 levels of subdivision, etc. Great vid! Your modeling skills are awesome, and your setup video really helped me with some viewport settings I didn't know about like Cavity.
Hi - thanks for taking the time to comment with suggestions! I used the ctrl + 2 in for the pirate head a couple of videos ago but now I forgot about it so thanks for reminding me! =)
Not only was this instructional, but also enlightening seeing you with these great kids by your side sharing and supporting your joy of Blender. Many blessings to you and your family and thank you for this great video. I will now hit the subscribe button.
Hi Imphenzia, I've been thinking of some suggestions to what you perhaps could make and I'v come up with the following: - A bridge/Canal - A zen garden diarama - An eagle That's just some suggestions I'd like to see, but I'm sure that whatever you make, it'll be an amazing video like always. Huge fan. Keep up the good work.
I love that sense of family coming from these people! It's like the actual family we would all love to have lol So I'd love to see some cool castle some time, or a samurai with his katana (all in low poly as usual hah) Also, I think it would be really cool to add week challenges from time to time (such as doing 10 min modelling for 7 days, all the 7 models based on some theme such as Japan, Food, Vehicles, Space, etc..), would be awesome to also promote modelling from time to time once a month as an example haha Cool as always dude keep it up!
I love how you kept repeating the commands you use. It seems a bit silly but I actually learned them just by watching this video! E to extrude, S to scale, R to rotate
7:05 @Imphenzia In terms of bones, animal legs are actually not as weird as you think. The main difference is that they are always walking on their tippy toes with their front elbows straight underneath their bodies and their back feet bones are very long (to the point that the "elbow" you created at ~8:00 is actually the *heel*). To simulate the back legs, try standing on your toes with knees bent at 90 degrees. See where your heel ends up? Imagine your feet being the length of your shins. For the front legs, try leaning lightly into a wall using only your fingers to support you. Keep your elbows at 90 degrees and tuck them in so they're shoulder-width and a bit in front of your torso. Pretty straight forward, no body mods necessary. :)
I love how your daughter keeps saying it looks weird and saying that your cheating and your son is like saying it’s not cheating and is saying it looks awesome which I agree with
Thanks, Sir I have learned something (alt-s) for scaling along normal...what a lifesaver. and Amelia your dad says scale exactly 50 times I have started from the start just to count it.
It looks like the mix of a flatworm, a snake, a strange bat, and some quadrupedal dinosaur, like an iguanodon or ceratopsian, and a cat... that’s pretty much what a dragon is though.

Any chance of getting the playlist round the other way? number 1 first its not hard just drag and drop in your playlist editor.. Slightly confused that this is the way round it is as it defaults to the other way on my channel
Thanks for making these videos. I've learnt a lot by watching them and they make me feel more confident about jumping into blender and finally learning how to 3D model.
Thank you for that experience. You are doing a great job, very inspirational. Have you thanked to make a full tutorial on the dragon with proper riging for the wings and a bit more detailed that will be great.
