    Shanlyn returns for her third treatment, where we continue to address her surface dryness, sensitive skin, and rosacea, which all show significant improvement. We make adjustments to her home care regimen, as her skin is unique in that layering products is not the best route for her. Her treatment today includes an exfoliating mask and a gentle regimen of flavonoids and retinols. It’s important for you to listen to your clients and design a home care routine specifically tailored to their individual needs & skin type.
    Nerida Joy provides skincare tips and secrets collected from her 40 years experience working with A-list celebrities in order to educate and give you facts about how to care for your own skin.

I’ve always had a more sensitive skin type and recently I’ve been having a bad flare up that I cannot get to the bottom of. I can’t seem to find the right person to help me either. Hi Nerida!
    Sorry if this is off topic, but wasn’t sure where to ask... would you ever consider doing a quick video on proper posture for estheticians and how to make sure massage techniques aren’t hurting your hands?
    I’m having a lot of back and neck issues and want to start doing everything properly. I think I’ve been giving too much and I know I can’t keep this up. Help!

      I second this! In my 9th year of esthetics and I've learned to place my body as close to my client as possible and to move my body as I massage. Make sure your not "reaching to touch your client". I also ice my hands, have massages and cupping done. Hopefully she will answer and make a video of this.

      I would add that doing stretches that elongate the neck and stretch out the front of the neck would be helpful as well as stretches that open up the chest and hips You can place your hand with the thumb open under the clavicles press very gently and raise your chin up bending ever so slightly to the left and right.

    Good warnings and cautionary tales that more people need to hear about. Recently two people got hiv from prp treatments otherwise known as vampire facials made famous by the kardashians. Never would have thought of the potential dangers of some of these cosmetic procedures. Thank you for all that you share!

      Reese B honestly it’s unlike any other cleanser I’ve ever used. The cleanser does not foam and therefore for my skin which I considered to have been surface dry- it did not leave it dry as most cleansers do. I follow the face washing method which Nerida joy recommends and it leaves it clean every time.

      Anthony Nguyen yes I know this, but mines finished faster than any other cleanser I’ve had. I also think this is because you cannot just use 1-2 pumps of this for your entire face. I have to use about 3-4 pumps on every wash so it does go down pretty quickly for me.

    I just purchased the flavonoid complex. However, I noticed the product contains essential oils as the last ingredient. Nerida, I was always told to avoid essential oils in skin care. Should I be concerned? Thank you!

    • @NeridaJoySkincare

      I have a lot to say about fragrance in skin care whether it’s essential oils, artificial or otherwise... this is a long conversation I wish I could discuss but it would take a while.
      Long story short, do not be worried. The scare behind them is the sensitivity they could bring, but it’s all about the amount that is in the formula that matters, and what type.

    Hi, Nerida!
    I live in France (otherwise I would have come to you) and want to check out Rejuvi. I’ve seen you use the famous Q flavonoid many times, but the order in which you apply it varies according to the person’s needs on that day. So, I was wondering, do you precognize using the Q in a home regimen (or is it just in facials) and if you do, how does one implement it? I’m a 27-year-old guy, half-German half-Latino with combination-oily (a pimple from time to time), so I guess I have “mixed” skin: would you recommend more lactic acid or retinyl? And how would I use the Q with them in a home regimen?
    Sorry for all the questions, but I can’t seem to find a really good esthetician where I live and I trust your 41-year experience 100%. Thank you for your content. It is very much appreciated 🤗.

    • @wtvr92
      @wtvr92 5 лет назад

      I forgot to mention the reason I’m asking about the Q is because I have minimal residual scarring due to hormanal acne I had in my teens and early 20s, mostly on my cheeks. Nowadays, I get a pimple from time to time, but I wouldn’t consider my skin particularly oily, nor dry.
