Lowkey feel like the dermatologist was telling these girls things they all already know... they're obviously all quite knowledgeable about skincare already based on their routines. I think this would have been better with skincare newbies or people who have no routine at all, and the dermatologist could recommend types of products to them.
Honestly speaking... these girls' skin weren't really that bad. They never seem to but people with visibly damaged skin in these types of videos, it's really annoying. I want to see women with actual problems with hyper-pigmentation and active acne. I also want to see them talk about the differences in routines for teenagers vs adult women, because I see a lot of people pushing skin products to their teen audience.
Ya that’s exactly what I was thinking. None of the girls had routines that were the “average” persons routine. I was waiting for the dermatologist to criticize something. The video was basically of the girls showing their routine that’s it.
@@melissapeterson1298 honestly I'm pretty sure the last girl knew fully well what HA stood for and they just had her ask that so it'd look like she learned something. She's into skincare enough to be buying kbeauty products as well as from The Ordinary, she definitely knows what hyaluronic acid is lmao
Women interested in skincare are more likely to jump at the chance to be involved in a video like this. And keep in mind, just because a routine is extensive and has a lot of cult favorite products involved does not mean the person has an awesome skincare regime. For example, Dr. Dray - a dermatologist - would not endorse the Farmacy cleansing balm because of the high volume of natural fragrance that can be disruptive to the skin. It doesn’t seem like this dermatologist was given the ingredients lists for each product which might’ve changed her opinion... with so little information to go on, she could only suggest broader tips like retinol and double cleansing etc. A lot of dermatologist actually recommend a more simple routine... beauty gurus and bloggers are the ones that recommended everything from Sephora.
Fair point about doing a newbie video as well. I really enjoyed this video because it either validates or debunks hyped products by a professional. Like the first person, I’ve had a regular routine by now and pulled all these things from research from the net but doesn’t mean I’m a chemist or dermatologist!
Acne devils - Dairy, carbs, and sugar
*pauses*
*continues drinking milk and eating waffles with syrup*
Kylee Washington Same lmaooo, I’m eating pasta and Mocha latte iced coffee😶
Me but with my fried chicken fries and Reese’s cups
I made homemade mac and cheese earlier and was snacking on fruit chews
I swear by hada labo products and aloe vera :)
I'm literally drinking tea with sugar and cream.
I wish they had someone with actual skin problems like acne
One of them might have acne-prone skin, they just have it under control with their routines
Honestly tho, anyone would feel that they have skin problems 😔
I know
Yes right. They also had to do skin care while using accutane
@@ActuallyAnanya // I wanted someone with their face not under control though...
??? How come they didn't address problem ingredients, like fragrance, alcohol, etc...
Probably because everyone’s skin is different. Certain ingredients can be “bad” but for some people they can be non irritating. I personally like fragrance in some of my skincare so it’s more of a sensorial experience.
shtefyyy just because it doesn’t irritate your skin doesn’t mean it isn’t bad for it. What this person listed is bad for all skin, the skin type doesn’t matter.
brooke you’re missing my point.
shtefyyy no I am not.
Your skincare shouldn't contain any fragrance and alcohol (check the ingredients).
I wish they could make a video that helps explain the different skin types and what they need, and which products you should not combine. Skin care is way too complicated and I seriously need help... haaalp
Yaaaas! Plss🙏
try looking at some of beautywithin video on youtube they have a lot of very informative videos about skin care
Actually I just found a pretty good series called Skin science by Cassandra Bankson and she goes in details about skin types and skin concerns and pretty much every question I’ve ever had about skin care. Thanks guys :)
Lucie Teixeira true
In my opinion dr sam bunting & dr dray are the best youtubers for skincare. Look them up if you are interested in learning about it ;)
I wish the dermatologist would have scanned the ingredients on the back of the products and then decided if it should have been tossed or not. I know that some of those products don't have good ingredients in them.
Especially the gold masks. Those are so gimmicky
The first girl had witch hazel which is good but the one she has, has alcohol in it which will dry out the skin and alcohol is a ingredient that shouldn’t be put on the face
The dose makes the poison. Just because it has a "bad" ingredient doesn't make the product bad, it just depends on the amount of the ingredient used for the product.
@@el3404 I agree, except if it's listed as one of the first few ingredients, then you can tell that there's a lot in it.
Yes!!
She didn’t breakdown the specific products tho. What about The Ordinary AHA Peel? No comments....? Kinda pointless.
itsbrittglow thought the same thing. Also, you typically shouldn’t mix lactic acid and retinol in the same day..I shocked she didn’t say that
itsbrittglow I have that product. It’s an exfoliator you use 2-3 times a week.
Captain Catbug I have it as well but I wanted to hear a MD’s view
Elise Hermann right!! This video wasn’t very helpful.
@@elisehermann6094 AHA and retinol are okay to be used on the same day. Obviously not if your face isn't used to acids because they will boost each other.
I wish this kind of service was casually available wherever you buy skin products. That would be cool!
some drug stores like CVS have beauty consultants who can help you find the right products for your skin type. my husband works as one himself. he's a licensed esthetician so he went to school for skin care. just look out for them in the beauty aisles. they're literally paid to wait around and give people advice just like this.
Sephora! The skincare consultants there can help you out a lot.
What about people with dry skin? I always see oily skin or normal but I can’t find anything good for my sensitive dry skin.
Check out the channel “beauty within” they are an informative skincare channel that’s super easy to learn from!
Try using a cream cleanser, and a gentle exfoliate you don’t want anything course because it will tug at your pores making them “larger” and can cause micro cuts on the skin making it look dull. Also I love using a hyaluronic acid serum it really helps to hydrate the skin and make look dewy and glowing
The Neutrogena Hydro Boost Extra Dry Skin formula (it’s a moisturizer) has been a game changer for me! It has Hyaluronic Acid and helps with flakiness :)
A while back I started using an acne treatment (Differin gel) that has been known to dry out skin quite a bit. My skin went from oily to combination where my T-zone would be extremely oily still but then parts of my forehead and cheeks would FLAKE. I then incorporated Jojoba oil into my routine after moisturizer and my skin became more clear (i still have acne, it didn't clear all of it) and balanced my oily/dryness. I now have normal skin with much less texture. I then switched out jojoba oil for rosehip seed oil since it basically is supposed to do the same thing but also fade acne scars better and i'm having similar results as I did with the jojoba oil. Definitely look into them, they were game changers for me.
It's me Marije same! Everything is either too oily or does nothing
Nobody:
Literally not even a soul:

The 2nd person needs sunscreen in her routine!
Sunscreen is so important but people forgets to wear it
I use sunscreen when going to school i only walk 5 min to school🤣
Cuz it's freakin expensive! 50ml for about $15
Abdullah Khalid cant put a price on good and healthy skin
Abdullah Khalid that’s not bad
The second girl went to sephora and bought what's most popular
Alicia Arnette I thought that too.
& the last girl looked at whats popular in Korean Skincare and bought it. So what about it?
My skin is sand paper filled with oil
sounds like you have dehydrated skin. thats why its oily but dry at the same time. (so ur skin is lacking in water not oil)
Try using a natural oil combination as moisturizer, you should find something in your health food store - It was a game changer for me! The oils sinks in, moisturizer which are cremes often sit on top on your skin for longer, because they try lock the moisture in - that leads to pore clogging! I use a real gentle cleanser (soap bar) and than the oil :) I hope it helps! I also had really dry sensitive skin & acne before...
@@youknow7856 oh...but seriously I can sand iron with it 😂
@@Clarinalein thank you !!!!
life as a vlogger exfoliate your skin and keep your skin moisturized
this was really helpful and i learned so much. you should keep making videos about skin and use what people are leaving in the comments as suggestions.
I love the pimple patches! They work so good....
I used to do these crazy routines and my acne was so bad. About a year ago I stopped all products.
Now I do not wash my face (apart from shaving) and I apply a liberal amount of charity pot from lush every night. My skin has never been better. The acne went away and my skin has never felt better.
Jake less is more !
I see you kbeauty girl with your cosrx an laneige 😏💖
lady loving lmao basically why I clicked on the video
sksks and the neogen
yaass my fav is the laniege sleeping lip mask!
Alia Younus lip mask and sleep mask from laneige are saviors!
I knew that PH cleanser from a mile away!
I love that these ladies had skincare regimens already. It was super helpful to learn new information on top of what google + blogs can tell you and to get things confirmed or encouraged by a derm. If this video was with skincare novices, that would be a complete different video, about creating a regimen. But I reaally liked this video because it gives professional opinions on top of layman knowledge of skin care
Love the Cosrx products and Lilyann naturals retinol cream.
I wish the dermatologist got in-depth with that Neogen Real Ferment Micro Essence because that's really good
good to hear its raved about because i just bought it a while back and im excited to try it!!
COSRX has been my go-to skincare brand and it’s amazing 🗣💛
Yessss
Same! the good morning PH cleanser SAVED my skin.
Loveee this! I’d like to see more skincare videos
omg janna's skin its just BEAUTIFUL
That was very helpful for my level of skincare knowledge!
Glad that a few of the products I use have been approved by the dermatologist. Like many women, I pretty much stumbled across them on the internet. Had no idea retinol helped with acne though! I use azelaic acid for that and I have to mix it with regular moisturizer or it will sting.
“This is so confusing *I’m* confused,”
Lol the 1st lady is my favourite.
She is me everytime I do my skincare and the products are very messy already
I literally use 3 products lol.
Lilly Layden same 😂
Honestly the simpler you keep your routine the better, the most important product to have tho is sunscreen!
I wish they could get people with different skin types (super dry, super oily, acne) and help tailor a really good routine for them.
Please do a video about what drugstore do products dermatologists recommend!
I like how this dermatologist is encouraging and not just telling the girls everything what they're doing wrong. Alot of the times dermatologist can be debby downers on the cosmetic side of skin care and hate on cosmetic products
I have a lot of the same products they use! I'm glad to see some one with my same skin concerns :) I feel more validated from the dermatologist comments as my routine is not that bad.
Loved this video!!
I literally watch u guys all the time bc u post so much lol 😂
Can she review my skin cause it’s a CONCERN!
Ikr I see you comment on everything! Ahahah :')
@Alannah MCALLISTER no mine is more tbh
She can review your skin, it's called consultation. lol
You are litterally everywhere!!!
i already use the gel cleanser and lip mask janna has. glad to know i'm doing smth right
I found a kbeauty junkie possibly! I use the CosRX cleanser as well and oooh I see that Laneige.
I noticed that too! Those 2 products are such cult favourites. The cleanser was too drying for me unfortunately.
Wow i am shocked about how much all of them use! :o i use water and a hydrating cream in the morning and makeup remover and wather in the evening 😅
i wish i could do this too oml🐱😭
I use even less. Just water. And I think I'm fine. I don't get why I should use so many creams and oils once or twice a day.
@@lynnlamperouge cause water isnt enough to hydrate. skin could be way too dry even if it looks "normal", thats why everyone should at least use toner, cream, and sunscreen to prevent premature aging
your skin must be so dry. you should have at the least a 5 step process: 1.oil based cleaner 2.water based cleanser 3.toner 4. essence 5.moisturizer
At *least* use sunscreen (unless you want to look old quicker and have sunspots)
Please make more videos like this
I love ur videos guys😍😍😍
Madecassoside is a centella asiatica extract (Cica) which is great for wound healing and - maybe - collagen production.
Wow this dermatologist actually knows A LOT. I was pretty shocked. I just wish she would’ve mentioned fungal acne. When the girl mentioned that she had bumps on her forehead I wanted to scream because sooo many people don’t know about Malassezia Folliculitis (fungal acne) and it’s becoming more common
Always awesome 😍😍
More videos like this please!
i love how the second girl thought she had a lot lol
The Luna night oil that the second girl talked about is ACTUALLY amazing. If you’re looking for something that gives you a result the next day LOOK NO FURTHER
I discovered niacinamide recently. Wish I'd known about it before. Major game changer for big pores, congestion and redness :)
Wow. My skincare routine with the girl Janna is 90% similar! Thats the reason i clicked on this video. Thank uu
They use way more than I do. I use rose water spray, homemade cleanser/moisturizer, and some sunscreen and coconut oil to wipe off makeup and then unscented mild soap to get rid of the oil then the above mentioned things for end of the day.
I see you girl with your CosRX, Klavuu, A’Pieu Madecassoside cream, and Laneige mask! Seriously CosRX hydrocolloid patches are great 👍
r/asianbeauty
What about just using neutral and oraganic products ? It would be amazing
Haha I'm glad I didn't do this. My 'routine' is basically a product roulette of whatever I feel like using that day
Amanda B same. I have a lot of products but I don’t use them everyday. My routine changes based on how my skin feels or how much time I have
I say have dr dray come on here and then see what happens :)
Kat Turner yup
This Dr. is too fluffy!!
Lol she’d be like “Throw the whole routine away! We want three things, y’all: ceramides, hyaluronic acid gel cream, and SPF!!”
Courtney Schaper exactly! 😂
@@courtneyschaper6648 ahaha yas girl!
Omg I felt the need to consult a dermatologist IMMEDIATELY. If there will be an episode where they will pick someone online and try to talk via video call, Honey, sign me up
I would liked a list in the description of all the products used
I think the only thing I’m missing from my night routine is a retinoid. This just convinced me to try it because I’m acne prone and oily.
I wish they could have one with really dry, sensitive, eczema ridden skin like mine. I also have some acne and forehead bumps so its a hard combination. I dont even cleanse my skin cause all the gentle cleansers Ive tried have been too drying still, I mean water is too drying for me. When she said that you shouldnt feel dry and tight after showering and lmao thats how I feel after every shower and I shower once a week with only water
AllTimeFallOutAtTheChemicalDisco
I have extremely dry skin and never had acne so I can’t help there, but when it comes to dry skin Lush Sympathy for the skin is the best cream I have found for feeling hydrated (body not face)
Tarte rainforest of the sea drink of H20 face cream is hydrating and more of a gel so it’s not super heavy so that may allow you to hydrate without getting too oily in your oily spots.
If you feel dry and tight after showering, it means your natural moisture barrier is damaged and your skin is dehydrated. Try to look for ceramides/cholesterol/fatty acids in skincare products. Shower at a lower temp so you lose less moisture. For dry skin, an oil cleanser or milky cleanser is better than water for cleansing.
Use watery essences/lotions (Asian skincare have these) to hydrate your skin and lock in that hydration with an occlusive cream.
Like the comment above, ceramides ceramides ceramides!
If the comments dont help, theres never a problem with seeing your personal dermatologist! They would probably give you more sound advice than what you will find online because it is more personalized to your problems, and could identify other possible problems with using certain products on your skin type. Also ive heard oatmeal baths are good for eczema?
AllTimeFallOutAtTheChemicalDisco you shower only once a week?
All I use is water and a hydrating face cream (with sunscreen) and makeup remover wipes. And a sugar scrub.
im impressed that the dermatologyst didn't recommended sunscreen to the second girl, its a must go for skin care, and must contain UVA and UVB protection
I just did a requested video on my lazy girl skincare routine that I have been using for about 5 months now to get rid of my severe cystic and hormonal acne (so severe that my late mum even though she was battling cancer was worried about my face). My face is 98% clear of acne but I still have post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. However seeing the products line up of the first girl made me feel like my routine is kind of inadequate. I hope to add a Vitamin C serum and Hyaluronic serum to my routine.
I like the concept of the video but I think it would’ve been helpful to have a list of ingredients for each product printed off for the dermatologist to skim and review prior to filming (and could reference in the video). It seemed like a broad overview of yes, retinol... yes, double cleansing etc. however, I wonder if she would’ve cut any specific products knowing what they contained (essential oils/fragrance, denatured alcohol, sulfates etc.).
This was actually very helpful for me since my skin is sensitive but prone to hormonal acne like the first girl. I only use organic products, aloe vera and tea tree oil and usually they help when my hormons are not crazy, but I never thought about adding niacinamide and retinol. I'll give it a try! I just found a serum that has vitamin c, retinol, niacinamide and tea tree oils so fingers crossed 🤞
What's the serum called?
@@beckaedwards6034 It's the InstaNatural Age Defying and Skin clearing serum!
more please!
just another tip for all your skincare people out there, see if you have a local soap making store in your area, there are a lot of products they sell that are great additions to your skincare! I personally buy bulk green clay and bentonite clay, also tiny pumice granules to use as an exfoliant. For an exfoliator, you want something that is small enough to get into your pores and clean out but big enough to not get stuck in there and you don't want something that can break down into smaller pieces, so pumice stone is great because it is quite hard!
I also buy bulk jojoba oil and hyaluronic acid which are great for acne! Also if you have some stubborn pimples try a honey mask or spot treatment with aloe vera. Honey is naturally antibacterial and full of antioxidants, aloe vera is anti-inflammatory, has vitamin C & E & is antimicrobial. Jojoba oil is also AMAZING for acne-prone and oily skin, i have the crazy oily skin & it's awesome to slather it all over my face at night, jojoba is similar to the oil that you skin already produces so it helps regulate the amount your skin will make & it's anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, full of antioxidants and high in vitamins and minerals :)
Please do a video dermatologist talking abt how to know your skin type. This thing is so confusing for me, like at one point I'm sure my skin type is normal but sometimes it acts like combination skin
Waited the whole time for the dermatologist to give things they could improve on
I used to use a lot of products on my face and my face was looking great, but was very rough. So I thought it was best to leave my skin alone, so I am trying thirty days of just leaving it alone. So far I have just splashed it with water, and moisturized, and my skin has never looked better
I like that shes not pushing a brand. Just offering ad ice and explaining why
My dry skin homies... don’t worry you’re not alone
Can I get a list of those products per individual? 😊 Dr. Wu has a really nice voice. 😍
Really wish someone had more drugstore products to see about those
This was actually pretty helpful for me, I have skin like Bianca
My routine:
Wash face with warm water and maybe a tea towel if I need the extra abrasion.
I have no pimples or anything, but I feel like diet is 80% of the result.
Everyone should check out Maurd products for acne they’re available at Sephora and Ulta but if you’re lucky you can find some products at Tjmax or Marshall’s.
I want to see her skincare routine!!
I'm really really scared on using retinol and I'm already in my mid 20s. Maybe I should really get one to try it out.
I knew that doc looked familiar...like 15 years ago she was my dermatologist! Crazy.
You should do a dermatologist review each other’s skin care routines
They should have her review a skincare routine of drugstore products
It seems like the ordinary is a good brand, a lot of dermatologists are speaking highly of them, they're affective and affordable. i ordered some of their products a few days ago. i can't wait to give them a try.
They're great for no-fuss formulations that are scientifically proven to work. I love everything I've gotten so far!
@@2901Kimberley That's great, can't wait to get my hands on them.
I wish they would’ve had Dr. Dray on here with her no nonsense routine🤷🏽♀️
omg these girls had the best products like they came INN the derm was shook
I wish there was a before and after photo so we could see the difference that the products did to their skin
Yes
I appreciate the intention behind the video but also kind of wish they actually analyzed and confirmed the skin type each of the women have, especially since this is already a very individualized consultation for each of them. I think a lot of women (myself included) try to get products based on their skin types so I wish the dermatologist could've addressed that more directly with each one. Definitely also agree with the other comments with having people with actual skin problems and/or are skincare newbies
The last time I heard a dermatologist talk about it, she said Vitamin C products weren't really recommended yet, because there wasn't any scientific evidence that they had any topical effects, compare to things like retinol; has that changed now?
Also, isn't Niacinamide and retinol a no-no together? (though I guess if you'd splitting between day and night.)
My skincare routine

Serum- same
Sleeping Mask - (twice a week or if I'm gonna stay all night studying with only 3-5 hours of sleep) Fresh Skinlab Tomato Glass Skin Sleeping Pack
Acne Spot Treatment: Belo Acne Pro Gel
I'm from the PH.
Edit: I just purchased Centellian 24 Madeca Cream on hicharis for my day and night moisturizer.
When i saw the thumbnail i was like is that mommy tang (the dermatologist)😂😂
She didn't mention the order of the products and what not to mix together xx
Vitamin C and sun actually don’t go well together?
So how is a waterproof bandaid the same as an acne patch? Wouldn't an acne patch have medication on it?
I use a warm wash cloth and cerave PM lotion
Maybe this wasn't its purpose, but this video isn't super helpful if you're new to skincare and need actual advice on where to begin.
I'm sure the Dermatologist gave them more advice, but considering how you pay to see a Dermatologist it's no surprise most of the potential helpful advice was left out.
She kinda just said skincare facts, not much real help :/
They already had good skin and knows what the are doing
i'm so surprised that the derm didn't say anything about the witch hazel!
I sometimes keep having small acne bumbs around my nose, on my mustache area
Mixed Makeup guys. Susan will change your life ♥️💯
I can only imagine her shock when she sees the only 3 products i use for combination skin 😂 as a cleanser i use Dove soap cuz it cleans gently and it doesn't leave my skin dry, and then i apply Neutrogena hydro boost water gel, it provides a balanced moisture for both of my oily forehead and my dry cheeks, i do these two steps twice a day, i also scrup my face every 3 days w/ apricot face scrup
I just wash my face with soap and water when I shower every other day and then on the other days I use a clay avacodo face mask or if I'm pimply a beaded face wash. And then if I'm gonna wear makeup witch I sent very often I use a toner
That routine is completely fine if it works for your skin! Things like the chemical exfoliant and retinols just help to prevent and smooth aging signs but if that’s not something you worry about then it’s really it’s not worth the money on all the extra products
