- In this video today, we review the brand new Casio G-Shock GD-B500S mid sized square watch. The nickname of “Squashed Square” seems fitting for this watch. We talk about its modern, simple on the surface design that both pays homage to the original GW-5000 G-Square. But it also has a new, forward thinking device language. We go over its size when comparing it to the GW-M5610 and the GA-B2100 (GA2100) Casioak. We talk about it’s module that has some fitness based features. We look at improvements of the watch overall like its dual time GMT function. We also consider improvements with the ability to read the time while still having the ability to use functions like the stopwatch and timer. I also sho the way the watch connects and used the Casio Watches app. We go over how the watch looks and feels on the wrist and its size next to the regular G-Square. We also talk about the negative impacts of the green color way and the readability of the LCD digital display. Overall this is a home run of a design for Casio and G-Shock and I cannot wait to see further versions of this new model.

I'm not a casio purist. I never liked the idea of a digital watch, so I've been avoiding them in my collection. But when I saw this in the hoodinkee store, I said to myself, I gotta see this thing. And so I was lucky enough to travel recently and go to a casio shop where I grabbed the green version (same one in the video) for about 113 gbp. It's been a joy to wear and I actually like it. It's been on my wrist ever since.
Me likey the one with the orange buttons.
I absolutely love this watch; I got the white/grey version (GDB500S-8), but I was very surprised with how small this watch is. Kinda felt like a Baby G.
I hope they make an orange and black one! 🤞
I bought this frogger ass watch cant wait to get it on wrist
gd b500 is not that bad actually, at first i felt like it was too small but days passed and i enjoyed looking at it on my wrist
Does the screen light activate with wrist movement?
What color you planning to do the exchange for? I have seen reviews of the grey color one and it also has awful visibility due to its shiny mirror-like screen. Both the white and black ones have negative displays so i am really interested to know which one you are going to get.
I think I would go from the negative black one.
Try using calipers next time
Although many of the features are interesting all the button pressing and trying to figure it out is a no go for me!!! I’m a more traditional version type of person that likes the numbers and a second hand watch!!! Kudos to you for having the patience to figure it all out and make it work for your advantage!!!! Good luck
picking out a better one that you’ll like more!!!
The og's orientation is way better, hopefully they add the new face to the old one ...
As a fan of the square I hate this one, hah. Maybe it's the color.
I think in a different color, like the all black, it would be more charming
