I have the exact same model and colorway. I've worn it nearly daily for work, and it's a beast, but quite classy at the same time. It's currently sharing daily duty with my more recently acquired GW-B5600CY, my first G-Shock square. I love it as well; as it also has Bluetooth, Tough Solar and Multi-Band 6.
It's not based on the Royal Oak. The original G-Shock square was octagonal and this was meant to be a redesign of that case shape. Saying Casio just copies other brands is kind of lame I think
One of the cool things about this watch is that you can easily buy straps and cases in different colors and materials to change it up completely without getting another watch.
Unfortunately, I have a new Casio arriving today! The GA-B2100 is the Casio that will truly satisfy. I think having Bluetooth instead of Muti Band Six is an excellent trade off. Many people can't get connected with MBS plus, now we have an app which, IMO, is a game changer and makes this watch a must buy. Being under 12 mm in thickness is a big plus. Bluetooth and Solar are great additions and warrant a higher price. I liked your review and will order soon.
Been using my yellow Casioak its been a stellar beater watch, always in H battery level thanks to tough solar even a few minutes under the sun, or enough ambient light and even indoor lighting is enough to keep the battery topped up. Time is always accurate it syncs properly with my phone. Its not as bulky as regular ol' Gshocks but still as tough and durable. I honestly don't mind the loss of Multiband 6 it keeps the price down and its better on the master of G class.
Was considering the 2100 1AER with the reversed LCD (which I wasn't that keen on) Stumbled on this video and this model has a great normal LCD and it's solar powered and bluetooth! Fantastic and really looking forward to my new purchase - ordered while viewing this video - thanks for the comprehensive review!
I have Tough Solar & Bluetooth on a different G-Shock, I use the app and time synchronisation, it's so easy to use and works really well. I really like the Casioak but last time I looked at them they didn't have the Bluetooth or solar option, that's a game changer for me and I just ordered one. I think it'll look great with a case/bracelet mod.
Will the watch (ga-b2100-1acr) be damaged or slightly damaged when I wear it in winter, in cold or very cold weather, in summer or desert, in hot or very hot weather, and in outdoor?
@@notorious_new Yes the yellow one is the most readable of all the colours in this watch series, I know from experience because I have the same yellow watch and I wear it on a daily basis.
There's a little gap between the case and the strap in my GA-B2100. Due to the gap, the watch is little bit wobbly while holding in hand. Is it normal ?
How do you store your watches? I have ~22 or so. I have a couple of watch boxes but with that many, would LOVE to find a VERY large box. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The blacked out one is my first gshock, looks and feels nice on my wrist. The negative and small display makes it hard to read at each and first glance though. I’m coming from using a digital watch for years but it’s nice to have analog again, my brain will just adjust better to it in time. Wish the left dial showed the day like non Bluetooth version or at least have the digital show time and day, not just time and seconds. Maybe that can be updated? But heard Casio takes awhile to upgrade things. I only have 5 watches lol but I would want another gshock, maybe the gb200 or h5600, ones with step tracker and heart sensor are nice but we’ll see. Or I may just get a used Ultra 1st Gen. thanks for the video
I think the best is the gbm 2100 with the metal outer bezel. But it comes at much higher price, so this might be one of the greatest ones that exist out there. I put a bull bar on my gab 2100. Looks awesome, and going strong. Had to replace the outer bezel because is warped in just 1-2 weeks. The replacement didn't so far after half a year. Otherwise, love it!
Is the watch scratch resistant or can it easily be scratched? Because there are exactly same model got scratched. Do you mind to have scratches on your watch (gab2100-1acr)?
As it has Mineral glass which is more shatter proof... Scratches will come but not very easily..... If this would have sapphire glass... It will be godly... But according to the price.. this is a perfect timekeeper.
It’s a G-Shock so it will survive pretty much anything but you have to expect scratches and dings from the conditions these watches are designed to cope with. A G-Shock without dents and scratches is a closet queen and a waste of money. Buy it, wear it, and accept that it won’t let you down when it comes to telling the time.
Great review. I have 5610 1ER and am cosnidering a Casioak now. I think you sold me on the Bluetooth ones. Colorway is also cool. Small accents on black work well.
I have the same one, use it when doing sports, cycling and traveling, because world time and can swap the display by traveling. Solar makes a Toyota of this watch. Also love the new Models , Save the earth
When you setup an alarm on your phone and it syncs with the watch, does the "name" of the reminder somehow show up on the phone perhaps by scrolling the alarm / reminder name?
Amazing review. Thanks for in-depth review. I have a question. I am mostly in office during day time, so if this watch won’t get enough sunlight, will it stop working?
Tough Solar technology will draw power from interior ambient light as well so just wearing the watch daily should keep it going good. Also, there are led solar watch chargers that are excellent for keeping solar watches in tune. Thanks so much for tuning in!
I have a question can you changed the contrast of the digital screen to dark or negative instead of Grey or positive? I noticed other similar g shock is dark
I’ve had this one for a few months. Unfortunately the standard Casio/G Shock straps are not long enough to fit me comfortably so I have to fit aftermarket adaptors and straps. Still a fantastic watch though. I have seven G Shock watches in my collection now and this is one of my favourites.
yes, GA-B2100, the world time has many cities and you can hold the mode and light button ( A and B) and it’ll swap your home time and world time. So if you have UTC and WT as Tokyo, hold the 2 buttons and your home time is Tokyo and your WT is UTC and ofc you can swap it right back. also simple to turn off receiving when on airplanes
It syncs the time via Bluetooth with your phone. So when you're travelling in a different time zone with your phone, it should change the time automatically, as long as you have it connected via Bluetooth.
@@hocinelahmar7986could it not be charged with any light like the house light or light in your room in the evening apparenrly that charges as well and takes 8 minutes only to charge under it.If you have a bedside lamp place the watch under it for 8 mins

All they've added to a very old design is Tough Solar and Bluetooth??? Why not design a new watch to put those in and last year I purchased the New Glide with the MIPS screen had to change the battery after 6 months and Bluetooth is useless for syncing you time to watch and only useful for having high tide alerts or low tide, and the only thing thats good is the MIPS screen better than any negative display bar none, even can see it partial light but 2 years battery lol and no Radio 6 or Solar, I just wish Casio would bring out a bog standard 5610 with MIPS screen no heart rate monitor on it making thick and painful to wear bog standard 5610 with MIPS screen and I would be happy although I'm wearing at the moment a Casio Lineage Ani-digi full titanium imported watch only made for the Japanese Market which I love to bits but if they brought out bog standard 5610 with MIPS screen I'd buy one in a shot, sorry for the long drawn out speech...
gshock has been around forever, I don't understand how is it overrated? they're always the either a daily driver watch with all you can ask in terms of functions or a beater, go anywhere do anything. I don't even think you have an argument as in why you think the way you do but whatever
@huydang813 in terms of feature i agree and it offers more features than what most of the watches give. Im specifically concerned about the price and I think they have more profit margin because of the brand value they have created
@@vishnuvarthan3290 first, most people will not pay full RRP for watches. I got mine for $150 australian dollars instead of $220 RRP. second, most gshock watches will outlive you. Why you not choose the Yellow colour?
Probably because yellow looks more like a toy. Only the black versions look elegant and serious enough.
