I was thinking about a Casioak, but I thought it was too big for my wrist. I got a DW-5600E, and then heard that the Casioak is about the same size, and I don’t mind the size of the 5600 at all, so now I MUST get the Casioak.
My mom and dad bought me this watch for my 21st birthday been wearing it more than any watch I bought it’s special to me plus it’s customizable you have a lot of options from case to straps
I have this same watch, best choice of colour and accents are subtle (but add a pop of colour). The most comfortable watch I've owned - only negative was the initial set up being a little long winded and the difficulty of reading the small lettering. The app does make things easier in day to day use though.
I like the Caution Yellow model myself, basically black with yellow accents. The dial effect is pretty much a sunburst, for me the watch's most attractive feature, Tough Solar & Bluetooth make this a very practical option and replace the resin case and strap with the gen 4 SKXMod black PVD case/bracelet and you have yourself a really decent and reliably accurate watch that fits any situation.
Nice review, pointing out all the features and i think you made the right choice, i know the yellow one is all the rage now but can't shake that feeling that it looks like a cheap toy while this one is much slicker and the red accent is just that cherry on top.
I didn't like that the GAB2100 removed the weekdays from the subdial and gave us useless info that could have been accessed from the LCD. I'd rather have the weekday info at a glance.
Just arrived today! Nice looking watch and very comfortable but the pushers are difficult to use. I hope I can find a softer strap, I think this one is a bit stiff.
Solar and a positive display is enough to finally get my first 2100, I love my 5600 and gbd200 but no solar all my current needs met with 3 quality Casios
As far as the solar charging I've left my watch in the drawer for a week once I was ready to wear took it out the drawer still charged an automatically reset to standard time watch is awesome
I saw both watches and black is far better in my opinion, yellow is ok but its more like for kids type or younger people i am 43 :-) so black especially with that combination is much cooler
Got the black and red the red has glitter in it so fire I have 5 g shocks now love em all three of them are Cassie Oak, the green one, the blue iridescent, and the red glitter my other one is a limited edition white band with a bright purple face
My favorite watch I have from gshock is actually my mustard yellow ga2100 the original first run exclusive to Japan. The color is simply fantastic. I think it’s the only one I have that’s actually made in Japan and the it feels quite different than wearing the other ga2100’s made elsewhere for some reason. The quality of materials is just better
I always wanted a GShock but now that I have one its kinda meh. No date without having to figure out button presses and the app is ugly and has poor UI
The ignite red colorway for various G-Shock models including this one is pretty cool. but it has a negative display although a bit red/pink tinted to match the red accents
Although Yellow is the posterchild hero colour for sure, I'd rather have the black one anyway, it's more versatile and able to be paired with more outfits.
I really wish the week day dial hadn't changed into a mode dial, having to press a button to switch between day of the week and day of the month is a deal-breaker for me. I think I'll go for the non-Bluetooth models instead.
this is a really good watch review. The usage of shots you have showing off the watch is GREAT. Been looking for something like this, and this video is the only one that actually shows how the watch looks wearing around.

Just noticed the edges of the hands of this watch here are a bit rough?? My regular 2100 (camo) hasnt got that, the edges are spot on. Noticed this watch is caged in China, mine in Thailand.
Interesting. The hands don’t look rough when you look at it through your own eyes. It was the lighting and macro lens I was using that really show that texture more

I have the regular solar tough Casio. I’ve had it for years. It’s never discharged to zero. I do wear it daily, so maybe put in drawer, it would go to nothing. 🤷♂️. The backlight on it sucks, so that’s why I’m interested in the G Shock one.

I saw on one review of this watch, the guy said he got a great deal, the light only lit the LED screen, not the whole screen. Mine illuminates the entire watch face. All you have to do is bring it out to the sun. My a100we can handle sunny days like a pro, I have a cheap Casio GM2100 with that red rectangle sticker shipped from China, I saw that Actual GM2100-1A in person yesterday, I am in need of that GAB2100-1A someday.

Every time I see one of these the battery level is at Medium, do they ever reach High? My GW-M5610U-1ER is always on High and I wear it a few times a week at most, in fact it only once dropped to Medium. I leave it where the light from outside can reach it when not worn though.

The yellow runs this close, but I reckon this is No.1; love the red hand on the subdial and 'Tough Solar' in gold, gives a retro feel.

4:07 is actually calibrating the hands - A LOT of G-Shocks are not precise with their analogue hands, and this is how you adjust them.
I have the regular ga 2100 and look forward to getting one of these new ones. It's a really nice watch.

The only thing I worry about this version with Bluetooth is if the companion app gets discontinued.
But than you can still set the time manually on the Watch!
There is an unofficial open-source app called CasioGShockSmartSync
It won't get discontinued since it is single App for all Casio watches

You can buy after market parts such as lumed hour markers in many colours for quite reasonable prices.

Yes will solar charge with normal wear. I live in Scotland where the sun doesn't shine very often and mine is always showing H for max battery.
